AVOID THIS PLACE. We have given them so much money multiple times for issues that are still not fixed.I took my car there three days ago for a specific issue. They looked at it, told me it would be $1,200 and that it would be done by the end of the day Friday. They finished it at 4:57pm on Friday (after I called them no less than six times). I turned on my car, drove away, AND THE ISSUE WAS STILL THERE. What did I just pay $1,200 for?!We gave them the benefit of the doubt after we took my husbands care there THREE times last year to fix his tire pressure sensor, and its still not fixed. That was clearly our mistake. 100% do NOT recommend this place.

On a cross-country road trip our alternator gave out. The whole staff at Dwains was kind, hospitable and courteous. Dwains went above and beyond to get us back on the road quickly and safely. We cant thank you enough!

Very friendly and helpful! Ive used them for a while now and I have been very happy with my experience.

One of our vehicles needed some comprehensive inspections done as it was approaching 160k miles. There were some known issues that we needed a game plan on repairing, and there were some symptoms that needed diagnosis + repair estimate on. Dwains provided us with a multi page list of repairs that needed to be done, and helped us sort them by most severe - needing immediate attention to least severe - can wait a while. This helped us get repairs going to prolong the life of our vehicle without going broke doing it. After the first phase of service work, the car runs noticeably better. The vehicle literally has a breath of new life about it!I am having issues with a used truck that I purchased recently. I intend to take it to Dwains for some help; with any luck theyll be able to sort that out as well!

We are relatively new to the Edmond area so I took my 2001 Jeep Wrangler to Dwains Automotive after reading many reviews. They lived up to the hype and then some. First off, I was greeted every time I entered their business. It’s a small detail but something I highly value in a business. Mikchael and crew were top notch and went above and beyond to make sure that me and my Jeep were well taken care of! They stand behind their work and customer satisfaction is very important to them. I will no longer take my vehicles anywhere else. I highly recommend them!

I was very pleased with the work that got done on my Chevy sonic. They diagnosed what all needed done an did what i asked. This is the only place that i will be takin my car to get fixed with anything. They were very friendly an even gave me ride back home and picked me up to go back to get my car when they finished the job. I would recommend anyone needing any work done take your cars here!

We had an excellent experience at Dwains Automotive. We felt they were trustworthy, reliable and thorough. I actually called to get a quote, because the first one I received elsewhere seemed high. I explained to them what I was told needed to be fixed and asked for a quote, they gave me a quote within minutes over the phone. Dwains Automotive came recommended to me from a friend and I have not been disappointed.I came in with a transmission problem and Michael worked diligently to ensure that I had the best work done at the most reasonable price possible. When all completed they saved me in excess of $3000 and having to need a new transmission and is now working flawlessly.They have an incredibly helpful staff that keep you informed through the whole process of having work done on your vehicle.A wonderful experience that has won my business for life.

They took my pride flag from in my windshield and threw it to the floorboard of the passenger seat. There were several other things in my windshield that were left untouched and the repairs they were doing did not involve anything near the windshield. They didnt even fix what they were supposed to fix, my car is in the same condition it was when I brought it in.

Have used Dwains for a number of years now and have never been disappointed with the quality of service I have received. They do their best to make sure they get down to the source of the problem and they stand by their work. A very customer service oriented shop. Their pricing is competitive but they also try to do the work as reasonably as possible. It is worth the price paid to have quality work done.

Excellent service big and small

Ive put this off for a while, years in fact. I was going to just move on, but there are too many people in society not being held accountable for their actions, and if you let them get away with it, most of those people use the leverage theyve been granted to do a great deal of immoral things, often in very sly, hard to identify and prove ways. My dad recommend this place to me, they sold him a truck too. I took 2 vehicles here. 96 Ford Taurus: received vehicle with a gear shifter bolt that was kept on the drivers floorboard-stolen out of the vehicle. I know this because it shifted correctly when I picked it up, but shortly after the gear shifter became misaligned again. I looked under the dash and saw that the bolt wasnt present, so the other bolt that holds the shifter in place had to have been tightened, and the first bolt knowingly taken out of the car. 96 Buick regal: charged ($700-800? its been a while) for an issue with the car stalling/not starting to be towed ~1-2 miles and fixed. It started and ran a little while (few weeks?), then wouldnt start anymore. When the issue did start to resurface, all the electrical/electronic stuff went haywire, and it was often during highway and other dangerous driving scenarios. Granted I did tell them beforehand that I wanted the cheapest fix they could do to get it running , as I had very little money. The regals no-start issue that shortly resurfaced, in a different way, may not have been their fault, as I dont have evidence that it was. I do feel as if they should have tried harder to communicate with me, however, if the results that ensued were the best that I couldve gotten for the several hundred $ I paid.

I went in thinking I needed about a 1500 item fixed on my car. They actually let me know what I needed cost less than 400, I couldnt believe.Great service, very fast and very friendly.Highly recommend Dwains for everything you may need for your vehicle.

I have taken my family’s vehicles to Michael and the staff at Dwain’s Automotive for years. They provided superb service. From diagnosis to final repair and payment they communicate timely and walk the customer through the repair process to insure each project is repaired to the customer’s preference. Running a repair shop and exceeding every customers expectations is challenging when there are so many variables when it comes to accurately diagnosing automotive issues. I have seen them go out of their way to assist many customers find a fair solution. Michael and the Dwain’s staff have always treated us fairly, honestly and with professionalism.

They did a second opinion for us on a job estimated at over $1000 on our daughters 1998 Camry. They found nothing comparable to what we were told to begin with and we left with a minimal $128 fee. Wow! Thank you! Youve earned our repeat business!

Quoted my friend $2400 worth of work to a fairly good car that went through inspection not even 6 months prior purchase. Went for a second opinion and they found nothing wrong. Some of the parts they quoted were recently replaced according to the second auto repair.

Great place to take your car!I took my 2000 Honda CR-V to Dwaine’s and I’m so glad I did. The previous mechanics I’d visited in the last couple weeks have told me I needed parts I didn’t so I ended up paying for a diagnostic, parts, and labor twice and the issue still wasn’t resolved.Here it did take them about 3 1/2 hours but it was worth the wait. I’d recommend anyone with an engine issue to come to Dwaine’s, the mechanic came out and talked to me personally to let me know what was going on. Best place I’ve been to in a long time.

By far my favorite automotive professionals. As a single woman, i feel very nervous about mechanics trying to get over on me & have experienced shady mechanics many times. The men and women at Dwains are always so courteous and I have not once felt like they were trying to mislead me in any way. They do an excellent job, are timely with services and fairly priced.

Twains was recommended by a friend so I took my vehicle here instead of Kennedys (further west on 2nd street), just to give them a try. They were not too bad, however I immediately found that a repair I had been charged for was not done. It was just an oversight though. However when I went back inside to get the charge removed, the manager on duty could hardly tear himself away from talking to another customer. I dont know if she was a disgruntled customer that was being placated or if he was just shooting the breeze with her, but it didnt seem very professional that he couldnt spare the cashier a word or two so I could get my refund. So I have continued with Kennedy as they always give excellent customer service, great service, and fair pricing.

From the moment I walked into Dwains Automotive office Michael made me feel at ease. I had a terrible experience at another shop. I explain to him my cars symptoms and he explained in detail what could be the cause. Michael was very knowledgeable, and courteous. Great, friendly staff who went above and beyond our expectations! I took my vehicle in for an oil change. They went above and beyond the oil change a repaired a piece of plastic that was hanging loose under my car without me asking them! The screw had fallen out so it was a simple fix. I appreciate it when someone sees a need and takes the initiative. I will definitely use them again!

I went there to get a repair quote for my car. They charged me nearly $300 for a quote to fix my car.If you’re going to charge me anything you need to tell me in advance. I just wanted a quote.They then gave me a quote that was 4 times higher than the standard fix.The person that gave me the ridiculous quote also offered to buy my car. That is super Shady...How can I ever believe that I’m getting an honest opinion when they are wanting to buy my car.These guys are super shady.

Excellent garage... Super quick turn around, honest, reliable service.

For starters...they charged me $80 dollars to just look at my car. The conclusion was that I had a fuel leak and plus labor, it was going to cost me over $600 dollars to fix. They assured me that at other places, this was going to cost WAY more. I was in college, so there was no way I could afford to get it fixed then. A few weeks later, my engine was overheating because all of my coolant was spilling out. I’m not very mechanically sound, so my sister’s boyfriend was helping me check things out under the hood. I drive a 2000 Cadillac DHS, so there is a hood that goes on top of the engine. He pulled that off to look at the leak and when he did, you could see exactly where the leak was coming from. Not out of any holes in the pipes. Not out of any other spots caused from damage. Directly out of the mouth of the pipe. The cap wasn’t screwed on tight enough. They were going to charge me over $600 for something that my sister’s boyfriend did for free and with little to no effort. It turns out that my coolant cap was also not screwed on correctly, which was the reason all of my coolant ran out. This definitely could have been an accident, but they definitely haven’t given me a reason to trust them. There is no way they took the hood off my engine and didn’t see the leak unless they are absolutely incompetent. They wanted to make an easy buck off of an uninformed college kid and I definitely will not be going back. In summary, Dwain’s Automotive is a bunch of scam artists and I advise anyone that is looking to get their car fixed at a reasonable price to run in the opposite direction. These guys are some poop faces.

Work was complete as expected and I see reliable service when I go to Dwains’s. Only thing is I wish they had a was to update you on your vehicle via text because sometimes you have to follow up with them when they don’t reach out.

I get to see the behind the scenes of many automotive repair shops here in the Oklahoma City and Edmond areas, and I trust these guys whole heartedly and know that their intentions truly are customer first. There’s a reason why they stay busy When other shops are alow, it’s because it’s a great place to do business and be taken care of properly. Weve been going to Dwains for years and until recently would have recommended them to others. Unfortunately we have seen a massive drop in the quality of their work and professionalism of the staff. My daughter recently had issues with her car battery and we took it to Dwains. In the process of fixing the issue they cut out her after market alarm system and messed up a whole slew of new things! She went because her battery light came on and left with no horn, two windows that no longer work properly, a dashboard light that keeps going out and her keyless entry is no longer working. Now they refuse to fix the mess they made! Weve had some other concerns but trusted Michael and his crew for longer than we should have. Apparently that was a huge mistake. Strongly recommend- go elsewhere!!!

I had an oil leak on my older truck that a dealership wanted $1800 to fix. I took it to Dwains and they got it taken care of for a fraction of the cost. Also while it was in there I had them look the truck over and see if there were any areas of major concern and they discovered the ubolts on the rear axle were rusted through and in danger of failing. Id had a few shops look over my truck before Dwains and they were the only ones to catch what could have been a disaster had they failed. Great customer service and friendly staff.

Please read this review in its entirety.I used to use these guys exclusively but a recent transaction has caused me to question both their expertise and their honesty. After quoting a repair and starting the work, they indicated that the cost may be considerably more because of a problem that they did not anticipate (expertise). In the end they were able to manage the issue without charging more but in disscussing with them the problem they disclosed that the problem they were having was related to realigning a particular motor component in the reassembly process, but that they were able to get it done in the end. 3 mo. later the part in question broke and the engine is trashed, the vehicle is only worth salvage value.At the time of the repair the questions of whether any other maintenance issues should be addressed since the motor was going to be disassembled, or if the repair was even justifiable given the miles, the response was no to other maintenance and yes to doing the repair because the vehicle had a good track record. After talking to another mechanic with decades of experience who evaluated the last breakdown, I was told that the part that failed most certainly should have been replace during the last repair, and that during that repair the part could have been damaged, further more, when looking at the details of the work done he was suspicious of both the parts used and the the price. His opinion of the vehicle based on his experience was that the initial repair was risky because the vehicle had a history of problems when it reached the mileage we were at.Perhaps this was just a coincidence and the part was going to give out anyway. But because these repairs are so expensive and the consumer is so ignorant about what is prudent and fair, we have to be extremely cautious about who we trust. Few people save for these types of expenses and earning an income w/o a car is next to impossible, so when you spend thousands of dollars on a repair and end up with trash a few months later the financial fall out is nothing less than devastating.I rarely do these reviews and this one is particularly difficult since I know the owner to be a good man, but unfortunately, is no longer involved in the day to day operation. If you read this and still want to use their services, at the very least get a second opinion.Update:The manager of the shop reached out to me, confused as to why I had written the review. In truth, it was my daughters car they had worked on, but she went to them because I encouraged her to, and when she came to me concerned about spending 30% of the vehicles value on the repair, I told her to ask the advise of the shop and that I trusted their opinion. So when the vehicle broke down again, I felt partially responsible for her predicament and given the circumstances, and the fact that I had not done business with them in years, yet had recommended them on many occasions, felt a responsibility to at least share my experience.After talking with the shop manger, I do believe he genuinely cares about his costumers and recognizes the responsibility he holds by managing such a crucial element of their lives. Unlike many other businesses, he is not interested in quick profit but is instead playing the long game of developing a loyal customer base through fair business and shared accountability. I think these two characteristics speak volumes about the operation.Since our conversation, I learned that he reached out to my daughter and refunded her the past repair bill, minus their cost for parts. While I do not believe He was obligated in any way to do that, It does speak to the kind of relationship he seeks to develop with his customers. My only complaint is that I paid the bill but she got the refund!

These guys are great. Ive had several opportunities to have them work on my vehicles and they have always treated me fairly and honestly.

Brought My car to find out what was wrong with it. Was told balljoint and brake problems and they only checked the 2 front tires. Didnt do a full inspection and got charged 60$. TLDR Find a better place to get your car checked.
