I cannot say enough about Five Star and in particular Josh. From the first time I called in for an appointment I was greeted with a kind, understanding voice and got an appointment very quickly.I had my HVAC system replaced by another company less than 2 years ago (I’ll call them Blake Heating and Air). When my AC began leaking water all over my floor Blake Heating and Air charged me $89 to come out to take a look at a unit they installed (this was after making me wait 4 days.) They then told me the part was not under warranty and wanted to charge me over $350 additional to fix the issue.Frustrated, I called Five Star and they sent out Josh who replaced the part at a fraction of the cost (in the rain!) He even came back out to make sure everything was working properly – which he didn’t have to do. Last night my AC stopped working again (totally my fault, I tripped a breaker, no huge issue) But Josh came out after most other company’s typical business hours and did an amazing job. I never write reviews but I really cannot say enough about Five Star and the way they take care of their customers. I would never call anyone else ever again. Thank you!

This company had the best response time for coming out and looking at our AC. The tech was timely, professional, and helpful. We will definitely use this company again if we need it!

Two other well knowncompanies in the Beavercreek area quickly recommended a new AC- price ranging up to $15,000. First Star repaired our unit for much less. I will always call them first and hopefully Tiffany will be available.

While I hope I never have to buy another heating and air conditioning unit, I wouldnt hesitate to use 5 star for my repair and other needs. I highly recommend them.

In dead of winter and our furnace went out. Had Justin S. Come out and give us an estimate it was $3500 dollars cheaper then our original, that we got from another company. Got us set up for 2 days later for the install. He was very professional and quickly got us in. Jp and Cody were the installers, they were quick and did their jobs above what I expected. Even running into problems with our old house they were able to come up with fast solutions. I highly recommend five star heating and cooling.

We had Hassan come out to diagnose our furnace and then Josh C and JP came to install a new unit. Each team member was responsive, took the time to explain everything above and beyond expectation. They worked quickly and really cared about the quality of both their work and their customer service. 10/10 would call them again for work.

We had a new HVAC sys installed to the tune of almost $13,000. We live in the city of Kettering. While the install was taking place I asked about the permit and inspection process. The man told me we didnt have to have a permit or request an inspection if we didnt want to. When I called the office they said they do not pull permits for homes in Dayton. Told them I live in Kettering. The receptionist was like well the work is almost completed its kind of pointless to order the permit now. I insisted as I knew in the city of Kettering HVAC installation requires a permit and inspection. She even tried to deter me and tell me it might take a couple weeks. I was adamant and she finally said she would order one.My inspection with the city of Kettering was today. And it FAILED CODE installation. 1) vent and I take piping not permitted in return air plenum 2) location of venting does not agree with installation instructions (referencing manufacturer installation instructions)I called 5 star immediately and asked for an installation manager. I believe his name was Steve and he returned my call promptly saying hed been doing this for years and years and that everything was code and wanted to know what theh called out. I explained and he explained why the way he did it was okay (to him). Told me not to worry about it. Hell talk to the inspector.The fact that this company doesnt pull permits at all should be the ONLY RED FLAG you need. Why wouldnt a contractor want to permit their work? And have it inspected? Thats rhetorical by the way.He said he would be out to correct the issue, that he had just told me was a non issue. And that he would speak with the inspector. Now the city inspector actually pulled out the manual for installation from the manufacturer (Carrier) and showed me all the rules about where the system can and cannot be vented out.Im looking forward to 5 star correcting the issues so that it can actually pass inspection with the city of Kettering.The last thing I have to say is I cant believe theres an HVAC company that openly says we dont pull permits. My mind is blown. And the fact I had to PUSH for one to be requested.

JP and Josh came in for an install and everything was fantastic. They explained what they were doing and what I needed to do. I couldnt have asked for anything more. Thank you.

On New Years Day our furnace went out. Hassan came to our rescue, however, the entire unit needed replaced. He later came back with two brand new space heaters. Josh and JP where prompt and professional. They kept us updated trough-out the process of our install. They cleaned up after themselves and treated everyone with the utmost of respect.

Untrustworthy. Called them to look at my a/c that was no longer cooling well. They told me the old refrigerant is $200/pound. They cleaned the outdoor unit with simple green and garden hose then recommended I just replace the entire unit. I ended up getting a second option where they recharged it for way less and added sealant into the system. Temp at registers is now 53 degrees F. I don’t recommend this company.

Great people to work with! My 15 year old ac finally gave up on me and I was able to get a good deal on a new ac and furnace. I appreciate that they didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. Thanks for a good experience.
