We have rented several band instruments for our kids from Brook Mays. Their staff is professional. For this rental i was able to rent it online, and than go pick up the entire order the next day. They have been great to work with.

I purchased a trombone here for my son for Christmas from the store manager and his name is Nick. It was one of the absolute best experiences I had after speaking to numerous people in the area and other competitors not only was Nick more personable But he was also willing to do whatever he needed to do to earn my business. Sometimes its just a simple we will make that happen is all a customer wants to hear. He was able to get an instrument from my son that was back ordered all over the United States at every other music store. He pulled some strings and was able to get it to me within only a week and before Christmas. I was blown away!Highly recommend them!

Great place to buy or rent instruments. Jan was very thorough, direct and funny. I recommend this place of you want musical instruments, accessories or music lessons. Dont come here for sheet music, however, unless you just need beginner courses for strings or other orchestral instruments.

Well I work here...but as far as Band and Orchestra dedicated stores go, youll be hard pressed to find somewhere better in the DFW area. For rentals, repairs, and instrument needs in between, come see us and we will get you taken care of. We are staffed by musicians, for musicians.

Horrible costomer service. Don’t expect to get what you paid for. Ordered a set of 4 guitar hangers, they sent 1 claiming it was worth the same as 4.... they refuse to send me the rest of my order. It’s a bait and switch and fraud.... this place is bad news.

Really run down. Not exactly the nicest place to shop.But! The employees are friendly, SUPER knowledgeable, and they have the music instruments, cases, accessories, and maintenance products youll need for marching band and orchestra.

Well...I took my sons expensive, used saxaphone to Brook Mays Music for a tune up before the school year started. Dropped it off and spent about as much on the tune up as we spent for the sax ($250). Guy at the store said we could sell the sax as is for $1000+ My son played it for about a week before the band teacher told him, enough! Switched him to a school sponsored tenor sax because the rehabbed alto couldnt keep a tune.

Really nice employers they fixed my son bass guitar in 5 min.

Went in there to shop around and get some prices for repairs. As soon as we walked in the older lady there wouldnt keep her eyes off me. Asked her a question about a bridge repair and was blown off with a snarky remark. Scrolled through the reviews and found a couple of people stating how poorly they were treated as well. When I attempted to speak to another employees she came over and had her go help someone else before I could get any help. Came to shop for a bow and some strings as well , but left before I could blow up on her. Just plain terrible service. I dont ever play the race card, but every other Caucasian person in here seemed to be getting treated with way more respect.

Great service! Michael went out of his way to find some options for me and I ended up getting a nice case for a good price.

Pretty bad experience, not because they didnt have my product (which were tuning pegs for a guitar) but the service was horrid. Told me basically to go somewhere else. So I did. As a guitar player I will never go there again.

I ordered something online and received wrong item. I contacted them and I was told they couldnt issue a replacement due to some policy. After pressing them on the issue, they said the item I originally ordered was discontinued and the item I received was the replacement for it even though it was a completely different brand. A bunch of liars. Dont waste your time.

Ive been needing to get new guitar strings for a few days now, and decided to google a place around my office. Came across this one, they had Martins listed online, so figured I would swing through. I walked in to to an employee named Miles greet me with What do you need? like I wasnt supposed to be in there (Im in a button up and khakis mind you, so its not like I was dressed badly or anything). It caught me off guard, so I asked what he said like I didnt hear him, and he repeated Whaaat doooo youuu neeeed? again. With two other employees standing right there next to him like it wasnt anything out of the ordinary. Oooook. Said guitar strings, he showed me where they were (Wasnt surprised at a lack of selection since this is more of a school band and alternative instrument shop), and honestly had a really crappy attitude the entire time through check out and everything. I literally walked in the door. Little did Miles know, I play multiple instruments and if I had felt like I was allowed to look around, I mightve bought something more than just $9 guitar strings. Oh well. Love supporting small shops like that but not if theyre acting that way. Hopefully they get it straightened out, that was a joke.
