Great apartment complex that I would totally recommend.Pros: spacious rooms, nice price for the location, I love that there are trees and greens around, pool and gym(currently closed during pandemics)Cons: appliances are old, floor slightly squeaks when walking, walls are very thin and very easy to hear the neighbors, and outside noises can be irritating sometimes however considering all the pros it still gets a well worth 5 star from me.

Just moved in and so far so good. I worked mostly with Brandon who was amazing. He had answers to all of my questions and was great with communication. I love that this complex with so pet friendly! My pup and I were both welcomed :). Thanks to the entire management team! This is definitely an apartment complex full of families, so if thats the type of community you appreciate, definitely check this one out. Its a bigger complex than Id usually go with, but it doesnt feel like its as large as it is (200 units). Nice landscaping and buildings are spread out. Will update if anything changes, but Im very comfortable and happy with my new place.

I moved in to Shadow Oaks few months ago and everything is going well with me. I was glad that they provided virtual tour because I was living far away from the Shadow Oaks apartment. During the virtual tour, Elaina was very attentive and helpful. She showed us the apartment buildings, the rooms that we were interested in, and she answered all of our questions. We decided to go with shadow oaks. The rental process was really fast and straightforward. Everything worked well on our move-in day. I really love the environment and there are lots of green plants and flowers in the apartment complex. Brandon also helped us a lot in terms of service requests and following up with us. The management team is also very responsive which I really liked about. So far I feel like this is a great community.

Just moved in a few weeks ago, and I am very comfortable here and the staff was very helpful with my move in and have been very accommodating. The apartments are very nice and it is a good community. The valet trash service is really nice and it’s possible to have multiple parking spots which is very helpful for me since I have 3 vehicles. This will be a great home for me until I move out which I’m imagining will be a long time from now.

Hi, Shadow Oaks team,I had a very pleasant stay for a span of almost 4+ years. Thank you for making my stay comfortable.I have seen change in the management a couple of times. Every one was good, and the last team is specially great. Maintenance team had also improved a lot with new team members coming in and having good knowledge. The property is always well maintained and tidy. Community around is great. I havent faced any parking issues or theft.

Ive lived at Shadow Oaks for a little over a year now. I have nothing bad at all to say about the community. Huge shout out to Elaina and Orlando at the front office for addressing community needs quickly and efficiently. When I thought I lost one of my cats, Elaina reached out right away offering support to post about my cat to the community thread. The community itself is very safe and close to Safeway, restaurants, and the 280 highway. The apartments themselves are large and comfortable. I live on the second story and my favorite part is the vaulted ceilings which makes the apartment feel even more spacious. The ONLY slight downside is that vaulted ceilings block a bit of sunlight, but if sunlight is not a huge factor for you, the vaulted ceilings are an incredible trade. My two cats also love to look outside the window at all the grass and trees. Highly recommend the complex!

It was quite enjoyable and a great experience so far at Shadow Oaks.I moved in last year during Covid time after I switched my job remotely. I just needed somewhere I can feel safe and quite and this place did a quite job.I was having issue with my door in the closet and they came by the same day and took care it.The scenery is very beautiful with trees. A lot of breezees I could fee from my patio. I just sat there worked with my coffee. The apartment is big for one bedroom I was quite impressed and spacious. The maintenance man fixed very fast, I was happy with it.The laundry can be annoying sometimes but most of times it’s empathy. I always did mine on thursday before the weekend.Oh the reservation system for the gym was really good and easy that I could go there by myself and do my yoga sometimes. It is very clean and organized. So far I am impressed I have been renting couple of places in bay areaFor the last couple of years and I think this place is pretty good deal for the price.

These apartments were one of the best apartments I’ve stayed at, they’re so nice and helpful and understanding. Plus the property is beautiful and bery family oriented and safe. Maintenance Maintenanceis very responsive as well and so quick fixes. The apartments always keep you updated on what’s going on in the complex and the management team is very responsive and quick as well. They’re very knowledgeable and always have solutions. If you’re looking for and amazing complex this is the one. Not to mention it close to literally everything!!! Freeway, retail, grocery store, restaurants, schools and college everything you could need within a 10-15 minute drive!! Downtown San Jose is a 10 minute drive The airport is ten minutes away. Bus stops right around the corner and a 7-11 and gas station. I know this is long but these apartments are literally the best.

Never took care about tenant problems and on top of it they charge too much more money as much as they can then deposited.I lost $20 thousands car from designated parking lots and never help me out nothing even sympathy. They said they have 24 hrs security just on their mouth ! This is bad apt with bad admin ever in my experience🙁.

I moved to Shadow Oaks about two weeks ago from Seattle with my fiance, cat, and pup (very pet friendly place). We have been incredibly happy so far, literally since we arrived here! When we got to Shadow Oaks we had just driven a Uhaul pulling our car for 800 miles. We were tired and cranky and got there with the leasing office only being open for one more hour. Because of this we were worried we wouldn’t be able to get into our apartment that night. However, the staff at the leasing office were incredibly accommodating and welcoming and didn’t rush us through the move-in process despite the office closing so soon.Huge shout out to Dillon, who works at the office: our car battery died over the course of our drive to CA and he went out of his way to get his personal car and jumper cables and help us jumpstart our car! This required him to stay a few minutes after the office closed but he was cheer and relaxed and assured us that it was alright. He’s a super nice guy and gave us an awesome first impression of the apartment staff! The landscaping here is gorgeous and well-kept. The maintenance people wave to me when I walk my dog around and are very friendly. The laundry sites are clean and efficient. I’ve seen comments from people complaining about a lot of noise from the nearby freeway but that’s not true. We live right next to the freeway wall and it blocks out the sound well (my fiance works nights and is able to easily sleep through the day without being bothered by the sound of traffic).Overall, it’s a great place to live so far!

I and my husband have been in this community for more than 2 years now and we totally love this place. Our apartment is renovated with new cabinetry, doors, carpet, paint, etc and is full of natural light. The cool breeze from the oak trees overlooking our patio is very soothing on a warm summer day. The leasing office and maintenance staff is very helpful and respond timely on every single occasion. Overall, the location, awesome schools, friendly staff and well-kept apartment units make us love this community and we highly recommend Shadow Oaks to families looking for a rental accommodation.

My sister was leaving that apt and very dirty apt. Each and every apt room has bed bugs. They had not anything mentioned their documents on time of lease signing . We did conversation with neighbors all were saying same issue bed bugs and bed bugs. Some never was telling me, don’t mention about bed bugs they charge a lots money to kill it. I was so wondering why they don’t care about bed bugs ! My sister got another apt and moved but the manager charged way much more money on top of deposit.

Its not a bad place to live, but lately its gone downhill. When fixing my heat, the maintenance people broke my couch. Shadow Oaks has done nothing to replace it (despite my repeated complaints, pictures, etc) and my heat remains broken. (This will happen every year. By the time they get around to fixing it its summer again). Right now, for example, there is no running water in my apartment (with no notice). I found fleas in my apartment, despite having no pets. My lease renewal wasnt sent to me, as promised, one of my packages was stolen from my doorstep and more often than not at least one of the washers/dryers isnt working. There are stray cats everywhere (and stupid people who keep feeding them, stop it!), and the staff is usually less than helpful. Parking is also a constant nightmare, and instead of fixing it they have simply implemented a highly inconvenient system that requires getting a pass for visitors. Which would be fine, if the office was open when they are supposed to be, or late (for those of us who dont work in Cupertino.) If they were to fix my heat and reimburse me for my couch I might feel differently, but as these problems have continued for literal years, its hard to justify giving this place anything above 3 stars. The only saving grace is the vaulted ceilings, carports and the rent control. Even with rent control its getting a little expensive to deal with this type of nonsense.

My husband and I moved to Shadow Oaks in October of last year, When looking for an apartment, I like a thorough report from people who actually live there, so thats what Ill give you!- The staff is flawlessly friendly, interested, and responsive. Both office staff and maintenance staff are honestly committed to helping everything run smoothly and addressing any problems. When touring the place for the first time, Colisha made me feel welcome without exerting sales pressure and was realistic and forthcoming about services and prices. Ernesto has responded swiftly and effectively to our requests, including weather-stripping the door and fixing leaks.- The grounds are really beautiful, and its calming to walk through them. They maintain the pool and gardens regularly. There are lots of trees and flowers, and it feels like a refuge from the traffic out on Stevens Creek Blvd.- The apartments themselves are spacious and well laid out, with a kitchen big enough for two people and porches on most (if not all?) units. In the one-bedrooms theres a big closet in the bedroom and a smaller one in the hall, and the kitchen and bathroom have decent cabinet space.- The price is good for the area, especially if youre working in Mountain View or San Jose. Its not middle-of-nowhere-Iowa-good, but its the best bang for your buck if you consider the community, amenities, and location near a lot of business shuttle stops.- They allow pets! Its a very pet-friendly complex, but people clean up after their dogs and there are stations everywhere for pet waste disposal.- Their preferred employer program, which includes rent discounts and perks, is awesome. My husbands company wasnt part of the program when we moved in, but he communicated with his HR department and got on the list. It probably wont be possible for all companies, but for the larger ones its worth a shot.- The neighborhood is not city-walkable, but its proven surprisingly walkable anyway. Theres a movie theater, a mall, several dozen interesting little restaurants, a fro-yo place, a grocery store/pharmacy, and lots of big stores within walking distance. My new favorite sushi place is a ten-minute walk away.- Okay, lets talk noise. Its a big deal when looking for a place, and heres the honest truth: no apartment will be noise-proof. The apartments in this complex arent made entirely of poured concrete, so you can hear your upstairs neighbors walking around and sometimes talking. At first it was a big problem for me because I work at home, but the free A/C unit they provide has a fan that gently drowns out most upstairs noises without driving up your electricity bill too much, and a 40-dollar set of speakers with a nice sub-woofer built in (piping white noise or rain sounds) has kept my bedroom insulated from pretty much any noises they can make. Its a small investment for peace of mind. Most of the people who live here are families and corporate people from Apple and Google, not a lot of party animals from what Ive been able to see. To be clear, I live in a part of the complex thats not near the pool, which is a kid magnet. However, it closes at ten, and theyre responsive to noise complaints. In conclusion, its been rewarding to live here, and the small cons are far outweighed by the pros. Hope this helped!

A place away from our home but makes you feel like home, made wonderful family friends here, my parents also liked the place and the best part was celebrating my birthday here with my parents. A friendly staff at leasing office, helpful maintenance guys like Jose and an overall good experience so far. Also, at a vicinity of Cupertino downtown, it makes an easy accessible place for a lot of food stops, grocery and shopping stores too. Points for more happy experience could be more spacious parking spaces, more visitor/guest parking, in-house laundry and a more better equipped gym in coming future if possible. Overall #myELEVATEDlife @ShadowOaks.

Lived here 8 years. No loyalty or appreciation from managment. They actively strategize and partner with Rubbios towing and their private security company to steal and extort from their tenants. Many of their tenants speak limited English and so they cant fight back.Hostile environment for kids. No community building effort. Exercise equipment sucks. If your a day late with rent they threaten to start legal proceedings against you. If you try to pay electronically they charge you a 40 credit card fee, etc

BEWARE OF BED BUGS. I noticed bed bugs in the carpet the very first day I moved in . Now, I am left with itching, swelling and skin rashes. I have been waiting for a treatment for three weeks now. If the treatment does not work (which is highly probable), I will move out immediately.UPDATE: The treatment was effective and the bed bugs are gone!

After new management this place is not friendly. Previous manager was nice and friendly, always ready to listen and help.fitness center machines are old and noisy and no rest room there .. if you rent club house they charge $125 for carpet cleaning fees for stains which were already there. we rented club house for weekend party and on Monday manager was not able to find her usb drive and asked me to pay for it.. latter she found it but no courtesy to apologize.. I mean there is no security or staff to lock club house after party is over, anyone can enter (Not a gated community) and steal/damage anything...they are going to bill into your account is it fair ?.They never clean trash and left over in club house kitchen before giving on rent. No gate and no security to close laundry room, fitness center after hours.
