Management is amazing, they will get to know you and accommodate in every way possible. I have two kids and for me, solving problems in timely manner is critical, because when your washer and dryer doe snot work you need that to be fixed asap, and City Gate can provide it. Maintenance crew is always on the site. Never had problems with tenants. Tenants have enough parking space, storage , apartments are specious and well maintained. Rent is very reasonable.

City Gate was an incredible experience. In-unit washer and dryer standard, AC standard, and new energy efficient appliances. Most importantly of all was the team. Jovanna and Matthew are genuinely kind and professional people who will work with you throughout the entire process. I would like to give a negative score if it allows so. I sent an notification email to them 5 weeks before I move out. I moved out one day before the ending day of the lease. Though I already prepaid a full month rent at the beginning of the last month, they still charged me early termination. When I received this blackmail statement, I was already in another city. I tried to reach them by emails, they didnt reply. They didnt answer my phone calls either.Besides, the community is terribly noisy between 4pm and 7pm. Kids keep running and screaming. I witnessed many times kids playing in the parking lot and their rackets, scooters, etc scratching other peoples cars. The ground level units are not well designed. Its dark. Air doesnt circulate well. The interior wall easily get mildewed. They are very greedy. They will charge you several hundreds for mildew removal, several hundred for painting and more than thousand for the painting labor, which cannot be fully covered by the deposit. Repair is slow. It usually takes more than two weeks. The management office is often empty, and thus no one picks up phone calls. The grill in the common area seems a selling point, but the sad truth is that the propane is never filled.

Overpriced and community is unsafe. Constant car break ins and theft. Community management couldnt care less about residents safety and concerns.** Instead of commenting on all these negative reviews why dont you take any action? We always strive to address these concerns with the utmost care and attention What a pile of BS, how about setting up security cameras and having an actual security guard present at night? Cheaper to sit in your office and ignore complaints I suppose.

I am so glad that I finally did not choose this place. This property management lack of two things: responsibility and commitment. Lesson learnt, DO NOT apply ONLINE! I paid application fee for Apt A and then they got back to me with Welcome to Apt A title email but with Apt B contract attached! Luckily, I noticed this discrepancy. Then they told me that A was no longer available but I do not like new location and move in timeline did not align with my schedule. I asked for refund but they refused! It sounds like they have the authority to decide where you should live once you clicked the submission button. They tried to convinced me that that is a ‘non-refundable fee’ so I have to pay for THEIR MISTAKE! How ironic it is ! If given the chance to take a look at their internal community forum, you wont be surprised to find out their security and management are jokes.

I do NOT recommend this apartment complex. I just renewed my lease because moving expenses are not in my budget right now, but if you are considering moving here - keep looking elsewhere! Service calls are promised to be answered in 2 days, but take a week or more, and when they do come the issue is not actually resolved and requires additional service calls. After three attempts I gave up trying to have the master bathroom fan repaired and now just shower with the door open. Maintenance and upkeep of the complex is terrible; common areas (sidewalks, walkways, garages) are NEVER cleaned and always dirty, full of cobwebs, leaves, and other debris. A good power washing once a year would go a long way. Windows are never cleaned (outside of windows are not accessible to tenants). Entrance gates are continually broken or under repair, impeding tenant access or allowing access to anyone. Security is non-existent, cars are broken into, fire alarms in empty units go off and are not addressed until the fire department is called to come disable them.I am planning to move to a different complex when my lease is up and can’t wait to find one that cares about their tenants. If you’re looking for a new home, keep looking!

Ive been living at City Gate for past couple of years and weve been enjoying it very much. The rent may be a bit higher than other places in the bay area, and some features may be missing (a playground for kids), but we love apartment and we feel great here. The neighborhood is nice and the children especially love the school and the parks around here. The staff is very friendly and willing to help. Ana, our leasing consultant is always there for us, responding quickly and promptly to any issues or requests we may have. She was instrumental in our stay here for the past couple of years. She is a great person to work with, and we couldnt be more happier to have her in the front desk office. We look forward for another year at City Gate.

I moved in Dec 2015. So far so good :) I rent a 1 bedroom 1 bath. I choose City Gate because they allow large dogs and its very close to my job. Any other perks were kind of just a bonus. I love that the property has lots of grass and trees. I dont feel like Im living in a concrete jungle. I have 2 large dogs, which most Equity properties allow, huge plus for me! The indoor and outdoor living area is a good size, we utilize all of it. Everyone in the leasing office is very helpful! I havent really had any maintenance issues or really any community issues at all :) There area is probably the biggest bonus of all. Close to a dog park, close to shopping, close to dinning, and close to my job. :)

The first day of moving, found out a lot of ant in the fridge. Call them come to clean it, it took 2 weeks. If raining, careful the patio, the patio will become a swimming poor. I was blind about this neighborhood when I moved in the apartment. So, I lived here for 1 year and recently moved out.I think there are a lot of better places in Cupertino than this apartment. In my view, the staffs tried their best but the company (apartment owner) has very strict policy about something. For example,When the apartment raised parking fee from 0$ to 75$, they wanted all contractors sign lease agreement again. They dont care renters inconvenience. I felt so stressful. The apartment charges not small money for late payment even if it occurs in error. The apartment raises 15~20 % rent fee annually. The apartment has a very strict policy about rent fee of less than 1 year lease, even if you live there for 1 year. The apartment repeatedly sent me warning letters to sue me for not paying moving-out balance. But, I was arguing that the bill has something wrong and they didnt reply to me. Finally, they corrected the bill according to my argument. But until then I had received the warning letters continuously. I havent argued that cleaning fee is almost 400$. Because I knew they wont hear my argument. I just argued about their explicit errors. My experience was terrible in this apartment.

This was the first apartment in my immigration. They gave a notice to raise the rent $2000 to $2500 one month before the termination, for 2 bed 2 bath. Of course, we moved out looking for lower one. As Ive heard at times apartment companies exploit poor renters by sly tricks, I am satisfied with the way my family was treated there.Though my car window was crushed and my GPS was stolen by intruders in the underground garage that had no surveillance camera, I know maybe all US apartments dont mind it and it was my fault, showing the GPS on the dash board.

My wife and I have lived at City Gate for just over a year now and it has been a great place to live. There are the typical apartment complex downsides of loud kids playing in the common areas, the occasional yappy dog in a nearby apartment, and dealing with parking when someone parks in your spot, but overall the community is a nice place to live.Ana works in the front office and is a great asset to the property. Weve been living in this great community for over 12 years and Im looking to continue to live at Citi Gate Cupertino. The apartments are very nice, clean and modern. The members of the staff are great but Id like to emphasize in the great service that I recently received from Jovanna, who helped us and guided us thru every step of the transfer process when we decided to move into another apartment. She took the necessary time to make us feel comfortable until she found us the appropriate apartment. Jovanna possesses wonderful skills and I think that being a part of the staff has created a very nice environment with many new people moving into these apartments recently. She has a very positive attitude, she is dependable, shes always on time, she has ample knowledge about what she does, she is very efficient and she treats everybody with respect and always has a smile on her face. She provides great service and always has an answer for the tenants questions and treats everyone with respect. She knows how to keep tenants happy by providing great service, whether its information, requesting a new key or remote control, etc, she knows it all. Shes amazing. Thanks to her wonderful service we decided to stay in these apartments rather than moving out. Thank you Jovannna for helping us finding to right apartment, helping us with any question or request but most of all, thank you for working in this community. Were so lucky to have you here. Youll never be disappointed with her. Thank you for always going the extra mile for the tenants. You are amazing. We appreciate you!Juanita and Felipe

I asked if there is any improvement, the response is NO!If the apartment is close to Stevens creek, it is noisy at night. If the apartment is facing south, it is good. There are recycle bins next to apartment, the car will take care of the recycling stuff 5am every week which broke my dream. There are kids playing underground. We had a mold issue and the office dealt with it reasonably quickly and followed up to make sure the problem was resolved. We LOVE the pool! The apartments trick you to take a lease for 10 months or so instead of a year to end in the peak period where they then increase the rent by 17%-25%. They do not listen to any negotiation and you have no choice or say. They take advantage of the fact that Cupertino does not have an upper rent increase limit. So the management uses to the maximum. The apartment staircases are never cleaned and there is dirt lying all around the place.

My family and I have been living in this place for 10 months and wish we could move when we were in our 7 month in. If you value your family safety and the safety of your belongings, this place is not for you. There have been many car breaking in, mailboxes breaking in, bicycles thefts, storages breaking in and attempted breaking in and trespasses since we moved in in June last year. We even form a tenant group (50 more people) in the hope of making the upper management aware of this situation. We had a “town hall” meeting with some upper manager named Mike but during that meeting, he was more concerned about his watch (he kept looking at his watch even when a resident was talking to him) and very defensive. Nothing significant has been done so far. We were talking about having another meeting with the management, police department, and a representative from the city council. That’s how bad the problem is. Also, the pool is often dirty. The wall is so thin. I can hear the neighbor upstairs flushing and closing their toilet, when they turn their food disposal. Also it seems like they always stomping because I can hear their steps clearly. The only good about this place is the neighbors. You can feel the sense of community with them. Also the site manager, Aylet, she’s trying to do her best, unfortunately she got no support from her bosses. So bottom line, stay away from this place if you care about your safety and want a piece of mind.

Extremely unfriendly management and poorly maintained apartment. Cautious with safety. I have been asked to bring a lawyer to talk to them every time I walk in to the leasing office with a question that I want to discuss. The biggest mistake I have ever made is to renew my lease with them.We saw firetrucks show up in our building basement, then building went out of electricity for 2 days in the cold winter when temperature is only 40 at night. We cannot cook or even stay in our home, no lights no power no heater in the house and entire building.Management claims they are not responsible and did not tell us why firetrucks is in the community, what went wrong with the power. We called PG&E and they came immediately. PG&E told us there is nothing they can do about it and suggested that we should talk to CityGate management. After 2 days without electricity, finally there is a power generator begin to supply power to the building. It is so noisy that no one can sleep in the evening. After a week on generator, we are out of electricity again for most of a day due to empty tank on generator. Management says they are not responsible because it is vendors problem. Now they send an email telling that 2 more weeks their might be a plan for how to restore power. We will have to continue our suffering and it is renters responsible since it is an emergency according to manager answer.Unusual experience of paying highest rent in the area to gain the feeling of being treated as homeless living in a shelter.

The Apartment in city gate are good in size and the white goods are in very good condition. When I went and enquirered about it to the leasing office and expressed my concern they blamed the tenant.after that there were a series of serious incidences from trespassers entertaining and bothering the tenants to Number of car break ins. The gates are most of the time open and it’s an easy access . Last month 8to 10 tenants went to the leasing office and expressed our concern but that went on to deaf ears.more over during the holiday season when it’s high risk for theafts the gates were wide open for 5 days and we had 5 breaks ins in 4 days .when we wrote an email about the same the response from the management was extremely unprofessional. I will not renew my lease if the management doesn’t take any action for our safety. I would advice to think and do your homework before you rent here

Negatives: right next to the expressway, it smells outside and is very loud sometimes. Limited parking if you do not pay extra to park in the garage. The doors are a little hard to get used to, you usually have to turn the handles the opposite way and its righty loosey lefty tighty with the keys. The pool isnt heated very well, but I generally only use the hot tub any. Although these are minor setbacks and are something that you can get used to. I live on the third floor and during the summer we had problems with ventilation and it would get very hot.Positives: the design is attractive. the staff is helpful in the office. They used to have a handy printer but I think they took it out because it was becoming too expensive. It has a nice pool and hot tub. A nice gym. Complained about the door handle falling off to the front door, and they immediately replaced it. Courtyard to walk your dog.

We really regretted renting here;1) The apartments are literally next to a very busy highway (I-280), beware of air pollution if you have kids especially and a lot of noise starting from 4 am.2) There are always shady people in this area for some reason e.g. observe the people visiting the 7-eleven right behind the apartments. A couple of times a year, random group of teenagers make loud underground garage parties here, we had to call police to stop them.3) Security is a problem, your cars will be broken into >>for sure
