They were amazing! I came in because of a nail in my tire. I had set up an appointment for 2 new tires. They checked to see if the hole could be patched up first before letting me buy 2 new tires. After realizing I indeed need new tires, they checked my battery and refilled my washer fluid. Price was the best around. With me being a female, they did not push me into anything or try to trick me into unnecessary things. Service was fast. Will recommend to friends and family!

Been waiting 13 days now for 2 tires that were supposed to be available for installation in 2-5 days.The www site even implies, still, that this particular tire can be installed tomorrow. I dont think so.

I found some discounts online so they replaced my tires at a good price,but they ended up damaging a tire pressure sensor in the process and then tried to charge me ~$150 to put in a new one. There are other reviews stating problems during tire installation as well which is unfortunate. Accidents happen, but the best way to handle that is to accept it and make it right, rather than hide it from the customer or tell them NTB wasnt at fault.

Had an appointment on 6/17/21 at 1:00 arrived at the store went in only to find out they never ordered the tires and could not put the tires on. This shop is a joke and needs better management.

BJ is one of the most nice managers ever!!I had a hole in my rear tire and all of other shops refused to take my car because it was almost closing time but he accepted to help me even with no appointment and actually he is so profissional and fixed the problem in few minutes and it is not expensive!It was my first visit there but not the last oneThank you for helping me BJ

The guys at NTB were awesome! They put a new tire on my car for a very reasonable price and as a complementary service checked all the air in my other tires and my battery and a few other things. It took less than 30 min so super efficient service. I would definitely recommend!

This place is totally awesome I recommend if you are anywhere near this place and you need something fixed go here. I was out of town and my tire blew three times on my drive back home. Spent a lot of money everywhere else that I had stopped but not only are they reasonably priced but it was closing time for them and they stayed and kept the shop open and fixed my tire so that I could drive back home to Virginia Beach. Took my car for an alignment and new tires got it home and all seemed well until I was washing car and found that they had lost 1 onf my lugs and replaced it with one thats about 1/2 inch short. It dont even touch my rim and nobody ever said a word about it so who knows what else they are hiding

Keith is the only saving grace at this place!! My husband scheduled my mountaineer to have the upper control arms replaced a week and a half early. Took it in the evening before, with the parts, to be worked on early the next morning. The man who took my keys says, oh, I talked to him and forgot to schedule it. But itll be fine.Next afternoon, husband calls to see why we havent heard anything. Get told that they havent even started it! Get a call at 430 that one of parts is incorrect. The parts they have had for nearly 24 hours now!When we arrived, intent on picking up the vehicle and getting someone else to fix it, husband sees Keith working on it. Keith has been trusted by us for years. He assured us that he would fix it. We exchanged the part, and left it for Keith to finish Monday!! Keith is an absolute hero!! We dont like or trust anyone else there now. Keith has worked on at least 5 of families vehicles

I have been going to NTB formerly merchants for about 10 years. The tire prices are great with excellent quality to choose from. Everyone I have dealt with has been very knowledgeable. Being a women they have never tried to take advantage of me but explained things to me. Have referred several family and friends to them.

My husband and I had oil changes in 3 vehicles today, and ordered a new set of tires for our car to be put on Wednesday. The service we got was excellent thanks to John King. He went above and beyond to help make this an excellent experience. Thank you John for all your help!!!

Had this shop install 4 brand new tires that do not hold air after installation. After they inspected those tires 1 turned out to have the bead of the tire ripped during installation. Management attempted to busy me with it being my fault he had to replace 1 tire that his crew had installed incorrectly. Am now $326.98 in debt for 5 tires I need to have 4 replaced at a different shop. They stole that money and refuse to correct this.

I love this place! I will forever come back here for any services and most likely return to get tires from here as well. Kyle at the front desk explained everything very well and didn’t try to sell or push me on products I didn’t actually need! He gave me detailed info on any other services I MIGHT need on my car as well along with price breakdown of everything. The mechanic Dale, (a car nurse, as he calls himself) that worked on my car during my oil change is a 10 year Marine Corps veteran and came out after my oil change was complete and even showed me the dipstick to let me see the difference between the old oil and the new oil. This place has my business for life! Thanks NTB!

This is always my first choice for any tire repair or replacement. They are so nice and save you money! Went in at 4:15 today, initially was told I would have to wait until Monday, but after explaining that there was an immediate tire pressure loss, they made sure to fit me into schedule. In the past, I have ranked NTB as a 5+ business, but on my last visit I was disappointed. Prior, I purchased 4 tires less than a year old. A nail was in one of the tires I purchased an extended warranty on all tires The first young man that assisted me shared that is only needed a plug and would be free of charge. The manager in charged told me I needed a new tire and could not get it for free. He stated that I did not have road hazards. When I first walked into the shop, a cudtomer told me to watch out for the manager. She stated, the manager might over charge me and not offer a coupon. I was very disappointed in my service. Please go back to being a 5 star business.

Took my car this afternoon to get my oil changed and brake lights replaced .... they went ABOVE and BEYOND my expectations by a LONG shot! Dale and Kyle are both wonderful workers and very professional! Dale even went as far as showing me the before and after difference which he didnt have to do but I was very thankful! I love this place! They always take care of me when I come in, even for small things like an oil change. The manager, BJ, is so welcoming and very professional. Yesterday, I had my car towed here because it shut off on me suddenly. BJ explained everything clearly and informed me of the best solution for my car especially what made sense financially (turned out to be an alternator issue plus other minor things I already knew about). The mechanic (Sorry, I forgot his name) was also friendly and gave me much confidence that my car was fixed right! These guys know what they are doing and give honest advice and the best price. I also enjoy a cup of coffee every time I go in.

Very courteous, respectful The oil change was cheaper than if we bought the oil, filter, and my husband changed it at home. Very, very pleased and will return.

While I was being helped we had a normal conversation about the holidays and it truly was a great experience.

I have been a customer at the Christiansburg NTB since 2014. BJ, the store manager, was there the first time I brought my vehicle in. One of the genuinely nicest managers I have ever met. I have had oil changes and purchased tires, had tire rotations, alignments and minor car repairs. Recently, I took my vehicle in relating to my engine light. They did not disappoint with their excellent work and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have never felt overcharged, and in fact, their repair prices are very competitive and many times, lower than anyone else in the area.I have to say that BJ and his team are consistent in providing top-notch professional service and EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. They are always eager to help and they are HONEST and TRUSTWORTHY.Im most impressed with a relatively new team member, Kyle Clarke, Customer Service Associate. She and her techs were diagnosing my Jeep for a leak. Kyle went out of her way to get to the bottom of the problem and wouldnt give up trying to locate it. She was extremely adept at communicating everything that was going on and even showing me photos she had taken on her smartphone...she went the extra mile for me, not because she had to, but because she wanted to. Thats the customer service that definitely makes me want to be a repeat customer!

Nightmare of a place. I dont normally write reviews, so thats how horrible of an experience I had. I came here for an inspection just because I only had 2 days left and this place is conveniently located. Thats the only convenient thing about it.Failed inspection for brakes (namely, because the parking break wouldnt work), windshield wipers, and the aim of my headlights. Fair enough. Gives a ticket for $800 worth of work, and I had to ask so many questions just to narrow it down to what actually needed to be done, weeding out the we recommend bologna.But the worst of it all, when I went to a much better garage (Pride & Joy on McCoy Rd), they find that my brake hose is severely, dangerously damaged. Any hard, emergency braking could have snapped it. How did they miss this during an inspection??? I guess a $20 brake hose isnt profitable enough for them to worry about. 🤷Then going back to get my inspection, I wait 10 min while the guy takes his sweet time setting up an appointment with a lady. He finally sluggishly asks May I help you, maam? He tells me they werent doing inspections again until Monday, which again, fair enough, but would it have interrupted the awkward silences between you and the lady too much to quickly ask what I was there for?Almost considering paying $16 to get inspected somewhere else so I dont have to go back to this place.

1/20/17I had a scheduled appointment at 2pm for a tire rotation. Quote was $20. Cool! Nevertheless they didn’t even pull my truck in till 2:40pm and I have requested that please do not use a air gun on my lug nut ( it was suggest that I would not) and so they pulled my truck in and come back out with my lug nut key and said it would be another hours ( already 2:45pm) and the new quote would be $36 to do the tire rotation “ because of my request because it would take his employer longer and he has to do it one by one we don’t do such thing” said the shift leader. I feel the is bad customer service and to up sale when not needed. A job is a job no matter what different steps you have to take and still get paid the same to satisfy the costumer and to stand behind the quote; also after signing the paper that to say I agree with the $20 quote given to me. . I ask to speak or contact the mgr. and he refused to proceed further. He wanted me speak with him and said that he was one of the mgr. but I ask to speak with the GM/ head mgr. and still he refused to go beyond him. I have already contacted cooperate. This is the reason for a one star and I could possibly remove with intent to fix this issue.

Went in for a $65 oil change and tire rotation. Guy working on my car showed me a dirty cabin air filter and suggested it be replaced to which I agreed. Upon checkout, I was charged $50 just in labor for installing the air filter. He tried to justify this by telling me it took half an hour to install. If I had known the air filter was going to cost upwards of $80 on top of the oil change, obviously I would have said no. To top it off, the glove box inside my car was covered in dirty hand prints that I had to clean off myself. Very deceptive, constantly trying to tell me I needed other services, and then left the interior of the car dirty. Really terrible experience.

Hadnt had any service done here in a couple of years since purchasing my new car, but they had a good Black Friday deal on tires that I went for. They had to order the tires, but once they were in, they got them on and I was out in less than two hours at the right price.

I was in a tight spot with a flat tire on my way to work, with an extremely tight budget. NTB was able to get me in immediately. I appreciate the friendly service of the staff, particularly the manager B.J. Haden, who even brought me a Coke while I waited. They were very professional, prompt, and extremely helpful. Great customer service

I have used NTB several times back home and I would that store an easy 4, if not a 5 -especially on customer service. This one, will not get my business and I have not problem telling not to use them. I just called to see if they had certain tires in stock and just so you know I know nothing about cars or size of tires.... so the ‘service manager’ spoke to me so condescending, I couldn’t even correctly form a sentence I was so bothered. I told him I was so sorry he was having a horrible day and I guess me not know about cars made his day worst, but to nevermind and had to just hang up. I was so taken back by the whole conversation or lack of I told my husband WE WILL NOT TAKE OUR BUSINESS THERE.I hope your ‘maintenance/service’ is better than their customer service. Yuck.Proceed with caution! They OBVIOUSLY could CARELESS personableness, hospitality or let alone know what customer service is.

I scheduled an oil change online. I showed up for the scheduled time and they took my car right in. I asked them to inspect my brakes too. They had no problem with this last minute request. The job was done in a timely manner and got a great deal with my coupon. Dale reminded me that my coolant was low and gave me a report on the condition of my brakes. I was very satisfied with my visit today and would recommend Merchants Tire the next time you need auto service.

I purchased tires from another Merchants and the two times Ive needed something done from this particular one I have been very satisfied with the results. I wish they had some sort of mobile service but I totally understand that is my dream and not really theirs :) I purchased the tire warranty and on both occasions it was worth the extra money! Matt was great to work with today, and the gentleman I worked with previously was as well.

Got my oil changed last week. Part of the service was supposed to be a tire rotation. It was listed on the billing statement. My tires were not rotated.

Went in to replace 4 tires, BJ and the team were so detail oriented and discovered a bent tie rod during the process. I was shown the defective part and was informed that the part was available. I agreed to the install and the whole process took around 2 hours which included a full alignment. Fair prices, great service and awesome staff! I am a FAN!

Prices are fair, not outstanding but fair. The service, especially from the technicians in the back, is why I will be coming back. Knowledgeable and willing to show specifics and explain why they are making a recommendation. The mechanic in the shop also heard me saying it’s my wife’s car and she does a lot of interstate driving, so he checked all the pressures, fluids, and battery for free. That’s the kind of service that will bring me back.

I took my car in for tires and it was taking forever so I looked through the glass and I saw the guy blowing up my new tires with this mouth like a birthday balloon. Like its cool that you can do that but Ive got places to be.

Rude. Had tires shipped here from Tire Rack. They called and asked if I wanted an appointment to put them on. I told them I didnt want to tie myself to a time, but I would bring my vehicle and drop it off. I was told that walk in was fine. Brought the vehicle out at around 11 am, and the counter gentleman rolled his eyes at me, and told me I should have made an appointment. I told him I would leave it with them for several hours, that I didnt need to wait on it. Another eye roll, and a muttered comment. At that point, I told him to just get my tires for me, and that I would go elsewhere. He did... rolled the tires out into the parking lot, and slammed the door. Wont be going back.

Ordered cooper tires Oct 2018 and paid also alignment. Tires were down to wear bars at 26000. Took to local ntb, after we spoke to cooper rep on phone for warranty, our ntb waited 3 days to get in touch with us and then avoided totally warrenting my tires. Swore they were discontinued. Called cooper back and they were not discontinued and highly recommended for my car. Ntb offered buy 2 get 2 free of another brand and they were good comparable tires. I ordered the exact same tires from walmart for 10.00 more paying for all 4. What a gimmick and lie on the tires. Watch Christiansburg , Va NTB. Poor service, lie to you and will not correct issues.

I’ve taken two livestock trailer tires there and had exceptional service both times. The manager Matt Yarborough was both friendly and professional. Very knowledgeable! After my first visit, one of the associates yelled out from the bay, “thank you and come back again” therefore I did the next day with another tire. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Just went in for a oil change and tire rotation and Dale and Travis took great care of me and did a great job. They took the time to look things over and suggested a couple of things that i might need to do in the upcoming months but didnt pressure me to fix them but encouraged me to do it in the future. They were a great help and nice to talk to.

While on a 600-mile trip, I developed a slow leak in a tire and went to this location shortly after they opened on a Saturday morning to get it repaired. Although they were very busy that morning, the on-duty manager squeezed me in sooner than originally promised, had the tire off and took a look at it much more quickly than I expected. Unfortunately, they werent able to find the leak, which at the time was only about 1 pound a day. So why am I giving them 5 stars? (1) Courteous, speedy service (2) no charge for checking out the tire. I knew this was going to be a tough one to fine until it became worse.

Matt was awesome! We were traveling home to Michigan from mrytle beach when we broke down on the side of the freeway. He ordered us the part we thought needed to be fixed that night before looking at the car so it would be there in the morning to fix the van. They got it fixed quickly so we could be on our way back home! They were amazing!

My back right window broke a few days ago and would no longer roll up. It was supposed to rain that night, so I went to Merchants to have the window fixed. Despite getting there right before closing, everyone was incredible friendly and willing to help, all the same as if I had arrived in the middle of the afternoon. Travis, Chris and Justin were all awesome and worked as a team to diagnose the problem and fix the window, all while managing to do so with a positive attitude. I need to get my oil changed soon, and will, without a doubt, return to Merchants for the service! I highly recommend their store.

I love NTB! Matt, the Service Manager is always friendly and takes time to explain everything so there is no confusion. Service is always quick and waiting area is clean with coffee and water available for free.

Came in here a few weeks back because I was due for an oil change. They said I didnt have any oil, which I thought was strange because I just checked it recently and it was fine. They showed me what was going on and told me I had a head gasket leak. Evidently, that was why I didnt have any oil. On the other hand, they told me I needed to take it to a Subaru dealership immediately. Well me being a college student, I know how auto shops are. They think we are just so vulnerable. Little did they know, the head gasket had already been replaced before. I knew for sure that there was no way that was the issue. It was just to hard to believe. I filled my car with oil and took it to another auto shop that my uncle had recommended. They told me I just had a hole in the oil filter. Really??? Like how hard is it to identify an oil filter leak if you work at an auto shop. Never will I go back! I can see why these reviews for this shop are awful. I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt but Im very disappointed!

Find a Better Deal! Lied about tire depth and tried to charge us 585.00 for tires. Went for oil change. Stay away!

Drive Away As Fast As You Can! I was skeptical about coming here, based on a lot of negative reviews, but I opted to give them as they were the cheapest around for a new set of tires for my wifes SUV. I chose the tires needed and services needed online, which included the purchase of 4 new tires, mounting, balancing and a 4-wheel alignment and scheduled the appointment for 2 days later. When we pulled in to drop the truck off, my wife went in to give them the keys. She came back out and said they dont want to do the alignment. Obviously I said what do you mean? She stated that just from looking at the vehicle from the windows, the alignment was going to be extra. Now granted, I did just install a lift kit on the SUV and the Camber was way out of whack. However, I also purchased new camber bushings with a very easy and broader range of adjustment, which my wife showed to the associate. So I told my wife to go back in and ask how much extra they would charge for the alignment. She came back out, keys in hand and said lets go. I asked why? She stated that without even looking at the vehicle, the associate told her that is was going to be a minimum of $600 for the alignment only! I started laughing and we got the heck out of there, because at this point, I knew that these people had absolutely no idea how to work on vehicles. We drove roughly 2 miles up the road to another shop. Walked in, told them the story of the $600 alignment quote from Merchants. Everyone had a good laugh, then I handed them the new camber bushings and went on my way. 2 hours later, they called and stated that the vehicle was ready for pick up. $90 later, my wifes alignment was done and we were headed to a different location to purchase tires. Essentially, the people at this particular Merchants dont know about vehicles, or how to service them. I would avoid this place the best you can.

Had a great experience at this business. Had a flat tire on 1 81, called and they were so helpful. One hour until we were on our way again. Highly recommend.

I sent my wife here to get a set of tires installed that I had ordered online and had shipped to this store. She went in I believe on a Saturday morning and I meet her there a little bit later. When I got there, they had just finished installing the new tires and she was getting ready to leave and was getting the paperwork from the salesman. There shouldnt have been a bill because I had paid it all online, including installation. He hands her a bill for an additional $40 and I questioned him about it. He said they had to replace the TPMS in each tire because they were bad. This was a lie, I had just had two of the four TPMS replaced the week prior and there is no way all four would go bad within a week. Then he changed his story and said they typically change all four when they install new tires. I replied, it would be nice if you informed the customer about the charges for the TPMS prior to doing the work. That is just common curtesy. I will never step foot back in this store again, I hate dealing with dishonest people.

A few months ago, I was there with my father to drop off his car for some maintenance. While I was waiting outside for him to talk to the guy inside, one of the mechanics drove someone elses lowered Mitsubishi Eclipse from out of the garage and around to park it, and ended up scraping the front lip pretty bad on a parking barrier. Didnt seem to notice, or didnt care. This should have been a clear warning to me.This past weekend, I brought my car in for an oil change. When I picked it up, I noticed that there were a series of cut-like ridges in my steering wheel, as if something sharp had been dragged across the leather on the lower left side. The car is old and the wheel shows definite signs of age, but these were fresh and prominent, with the black coating flaking off. No other kind of wear on the wheel like this at all. This had not been there the previous day. I talked to the mechanic at the desk about it, and he denied any possibility that they had done this. I then talked to the manager, who not only immediately denied any possibility, but was also quite rude about it. Are you kidding me? He took a picture of the damage and did so with a notable satisfaction and made it clear that he couldnt wait to show his supervisor. I was awestruck that he was so eager to treat a loyal customer for years this way, regardless of where the damage might have come from. I called the Merchants customer service and ended up getting a free alignment out of the ordeal, and I will not say that I wont go to a Merchants again, as my experience with one in Richmond has been beyond satisfactory. I will not ever set foot in this Merchants again, however. Its a shame, because before the Mitsubishi incident, their service was fine and neither my father nor I ever had a problem.4/7/13 EDIT: I came across pictures I took of the damage, actually showing the damage close up, instead of wide shots meant to include the somewhat worn leather on the drivers seat (I forgot to mention that it was painfully obvious what he was trying to do with his pictures), and I decided to check back here to see if any new reviews had popped up. None have, but I noticed that one which had been posted after mine, one which painted this business in a very different light and dismissed the negative reviews here, has been redacted.

Bought four new tires in Jan. Rear of truck began to shake some in July... less than 5000 miles on tires. We thought it may be something with the rear suspension so we took it to a repair shop. They indicated that the two rear tires were out of round and the a front tire had a broken belt. They suggested I go back to NTB to see what they could do as this is a manufacturing defect. Took it to NTB and they said I would need to make an appointment when a manager could look at it. Went to a 10 am appointment and they asked us how long we could leave it for as it may take a couple of hours to look at it. One technician went out and looked at the tires and felt around them and said they were not out of round without even removing a tire. They drove it and then put it on the rack, removed tires and said they were not out of round but may need to be balanced. Balanced tires and guess what ... SURPRISE !!! Three stripped lug bolts. About a 30 min job but charged one hour labor ($105) and approximately $20 EACH for new lug blots. $170 TO REPLACE THREE LUG BOLTS!!!!!!! and three hours of wasted time!!!! No matter what you go in for they are always going to find something else they say your vehicle needs. Tire deals are good (i.e. buy three get one free) but tires are bottom of the line products. If you buy better tires, once you add in all of their other charges, they are at least as expensive as anywhere else. I will NEVER,NEVER,NEVER go back!!!

The manager, Matt, is a great manager and representative of the company! He is always courteous and takes the time to explain what needs to be done to your vehicle, explains the value for spending your dollar. I will return again and again, as it is hard to find a garage that you can trust not to rip you off with extraneous things wrong with your vehicle. Thank you all!

My first visit was pleasant enough. I needed an oil change and a state inspection. I had an oil change coupon so I decided to go there. 12/12/17 around 10 am. The man at the front was nice and very helpful. The wait was long.. About 2 hours but I didnt mind.My car didnt pass ibspection. I needed tires but couldnt get them that day I tried twice after that to get another inspection and each time I was told by a rude man up front that I would be waiting awhile, but he couldnt tell me how long awhile is. Then he suggested I go some place else. I wont be going back there again.

Absolute crooks. These people take advantage of people who do not have much car knowledge and try to squeeze every bit of money they can out of them. In no way should an oil change cost 120 dollars. Then they try to push their scam credit card on you so they can keep making up stuff thats wrong with your car. I am absolutely furious at these shady business practices.

Oil change and inspection. (FREE TIRE ROTATION SINCE I BOUGHT TIRES THERE) Needed new windshield wiper blades and got an air filter replaced. $184....does that sound reasonable?

The employees were very nice, but they were out of oil so I wouldnt get my oil changed. I went in for the $20 conventional oil, and the only option they offered was a $75 synthetic! They also said that they wouldnt have regular oil for 3 days.Since I did make an appointment for a certain price, I would have expected a reasonable discount to be offered on the $75 oil change. Also, how could they go three more days without oil?I wonder if this is actually a marketing tactic to force people to but the more expensive package.

Although this place has a friendly staff, I have never felt this conned before. I took my car for an inspection and they came out saying that my car needed numerous things to be fixed. They quoted me for $1,400 , me being a middle class worker I struggle with this decision, because again I took it for an inspection not thinking that this was going to be the outcome. They fixed a couple of things including my muffler , a couple things of my transmission, tires and more. I decided to go for it , worse decision that I have ever made. First of all, they took way longer than excepted to fix the issues, but I didnt say anything about that because I understand that things happen. However, after they gave me the car , after one day, my car was shaking like an earthquake, my door did not open from the inside and it had a squeaky sound every time I made a turn. So, I called and the staff once again really nice said just bring it in and we will check it. Long story short, they call me today and they tell me that my transmission is going bad and I probably need a new one. ..... I was speechless. IF I KNEW THAT THIS WAS AN ISSUE I WOULDNT SPEND 1400 DOLLARS FOR NOTHING. I would probably consider to buy a car or something. Please at least be honest and real with your customers and tell them the truth.It just seem that they did not test the car at all because all those things except the door, were noticeable right away. Please be aware of this scammers , they over charge you and then tell you that you have more things to fix. I would be contacting some legal assistance because I want my money back, or at least some retribution. There was not any apologies or any acknowledgement on what they did. I want this place to take responsibility for scamming a hard working person like me.---------A year later and nothing changed. They want to profit on the smallest things.....

Im not the type of person who usually leaves reviews. But thats how amazing of an experience I had here. It was great service. & Dale was the best customer experience Ive had. Thank you all.

Best honest around they had to work over cause of stripped lugnuts. They worked so hard respected n educated

Absolute crooks/cons... I assume the change to NTB was to try and salvage the reputation but the so called garage is to far gone... This is the second time my wife has taken her vehicle there to have them tell her things are wrong with it that are perfectly fine... They are clueless and are only looking to make money by suggesting things that dont need to be done... I feel sorry for anyone who falls for there tricks...
