Good riddance. Ive found them to be one of the more dishonest repair shops in the area. Taking advantage of those less knowledgeable in mechanics seemed to be a well hewn pattern of theirs. After my parents had serious issues with their car, resulting in all but a new car, they were all too happy to point out less than likely reasons for the issues and take them down the more expensive route to a solution.

Beware of these profiteers go to the actual dealership. Worst customer service I have received after spending over 1200$ on repairs before a cross country trip. The sales department were friendly and helpful but as soon as I had to deal with the service department it was a nightmare. Its pretty sad to find out more about what was wrong with my car from a Toyota mechanics chat group. Accused of being dishonest about my check engine light not being on when I droppped of my rav4 which it wasnt I told the service desk that it was probably a fuse but was told that they would be glad to diagnose the problem further for another 120$ lol what a joke.

After having a horrible car buying experience in January I was not looking forward to having to deal with dealerships again this Summer. Charlotte was great from start to finish and was the first dealer to listen to what I wanted/needed in a car and understand what features were important. I wasnt sure what car I wanted and after exploring the lot options I came back and let Charlotte know a Honda Pilot was what would work. They didnt have any but were more than happy to start looking at auctions for me and kept me informed throughout the process of what was available and how the bidding was going.I cant say enough good things about Charlotte and Buck! That means a lot when youre from overseas and have never been through the purchase of a car in the US. Ive bought a few cars but this refreshing experience is yet unmatched. I have been taking vehicles here for over 12 years and feel that they do a great job. Being in the car repair business must be tough - lots of unknowns with used cars. The staff at Edgecombs does the best they can, and gets it right more often than not. They are not the cheapest option in town but you get what you pay for. I dont know of any other places in town with free loaner vehicles. If you doubt their knowledge, consider that they have cars they loan out every day, most of which have over 200,000 miles, and they run fine. Ive never bought a car from them but wouldnt hesitate to do so.

I have been using Edgecombs for a couple of years and have been basically satisfied until today. Today, Trish made me a much more loyal customer. I asked them to fix my brakes to pass inspection and told them Id been told the pads needed to be replaced. When I picked my truck up the pads and rotors had been replaced and the bill was twice what Id expected. I told Trish Id only asked for the pads and lamented that the rotors had been put on without asking (Id had them replaced just 15K miles ago) but figured since they were already on the truck Id have to pay for it. Trish remembered all of our conversations about this and remembered Id only asked for pads and she talked to the mechanic and removed the charge for the rotors from my bill but left the fact they had been replaced on the bill for the vehicles record. I was blown away at the total honesty. We have had a couple of issues weve had to discuss with these guys but they have ALWAYS worked our issue out to our satisfaction and I would never consider taking my VW and Honda anywhere else. I only gave them four stars just because I dont want them to get the big head and quite striving to keep their customers satisfied.

What a kind and caring group of people. There are various members of the Edgecombs family who work here but they actually consider everyone who does work here family .. truly .. so the energy and the conversations you end up having are lovely and often profound and thoughtful. Not exactly what one expects from a car maintenance/ dealer of used cars place.i would recommend them 100%. Great folks and good work that is reasonably priced. You drive away feeling good.

I have long trusted Edgecombs to take care of my Volvo or Toyota cars, and have never been disappointed. Automobile repair can be expensive, of course, but I have not felt that I was wasting my money at Edgecombs. They do a great job.

I have taken multiple Acuras there and received great service. Their expertise is not limited to Volvos! They are always careful to explain your options so that a non-car person can make an informed decision about repairs. The staff make you feel comfortable to ask your questions. Edgecombs staff members are always highly professional and never condescending.

Failed inspection on Volvo 240 wagon for cloudy headlights. They recommended a $90 headlight restoration. Instead I took the car elsewhere and had done for cheaper with visibly great results but returned car to Edgecombs for re-inspection in order to save a second inspection fee. They failed it again saying they still recommend their $90 restoration. No thanks Edgecombs. Ill go pay $20 somewhere rather than be pressured to pay your unnecessary restoration fee.

I have brought my cars to Edgecombs for years and even bought a Volvo S60 from Edgecombs. I trust them immensely for straightforward, honest advice and reliable service on my cars. I love the courtesy loaner cars. Whenever I have an emergency they are most helpful to accommodate getting my car in.

Bought my first car here and it was really easy. Of course with used car ownership you have to expect that occasionally things are going to go wrong. And when they do, Edgecombs will do whatever they can to correct it. I will say it is weird driving a loaner car that is newer than my own but its whatever. I do get the sense that the technicians do know what they are doing. They were able to revive my ancient A.C system which is almost unheard of in an old Volvo. The shop rates may seem high at first glance, but look around town and you will find that they are towards the bottom in terms of price per hour.

Be wary. This business is not trustworthy.My wife and I were assured that a repair would fix a recurring problem with her 240. Had gone through a few other potential fixes with Edgecombs and then were told that THIS would do it. Literally suggested other potential issues that were discounted.Repair cost was over $900 and did not fix the issue.No remorse or concern from the merchant; in fact, my wife was greeted with rudeness from general manager. Not willing to work with us. Was told that we need to take responsibility as consumers that their diagnosis might not have accurate, regardless of the information that they provided.Never again.

I will not go here for inspections anymore. They failed us for headlight adjustments 2017 & 2018. $50 each time. Two newer cars failed two years in a row. They say it just happens. Sorry, no it does not happen yearly. Another shop said it was likely a low tire the first year throwing it off, then had to be adjusted back the next year.

Not at all trustworthy. I used to work there. I had left a much more detailed review but they called and threatened to sue me.

I have bought many cars over the years but never had as nice an experience as I had at Edgecombs Imported Auto. All the staff make you feel like family. There is no high pressure sales and they have a great inventory. Every vehicle looked like it just came out of the showroom. They made the buying process real easy. The toughest part was just deciding which Volvo I would take home. I highly recommend Edgecombs Imprted Auto to anyone who is looking for a high quality, late model used car.

They quoted me to replace a timing belt an water pump and and cam shaft seal at 3500 plus another 2000 to get it inspected but I got all that fixed an inspected for 1400 dollars they are snakes and they take avandge of people because there the only people that will touch vovlos in Charlottesville trust go to richmond

I have been using Edgecombs for major service/repairs on my Subaru for several years now and am a happy camper. I am a longtime automotive do-it-yourselfer who, in the old days, would tackle most everything - clutches, valve jobs, water pumps, wheel bearings, tune ups, brake jobs, you name it. But knowing a lot about fixing cars can be dreadful cause I know when Im being given the runaround by mechanics. The folks at Edgecombs have always given me the straight story. They dont invent problems where none exist and get the job done as promised. Simply put, I trust their assessment & work. Plus, you know what, the free loaner cars are fantastic!! Sooo much easier than having to hassle with a dealer shuttle!!Ive never purchased a vehicle through Edgecombs but Id have to think that the same integrity I see on the shop side applies to their sales side.
