By far my favorite place Ive lived in Arizona. I had an incredible experience in my (just under) 2 years here. The casitas layouts are great, the ceilings are high which makes the space feel more open and absolutely everything is updated. If I ever had any issues or concerns the staff and maintenance were super timely, always kind and everything got resolved quickly. The pool is a good size, always clean. The only reason I moved out was to live with my boyfriend! Highly recommend this place (if you can find an available unit!). 10/10.

Loved living at this complex. It’s unique because the apartments are more like mini condos. There are mini yards and there aren’t multiple floors like a traditional apartment. Management here does a great job taking care of the property. Maintenance responds promptly and fixed issues in the same day for all work orders I submitted. Ride share-able to near by restaurants and bars. Never had issues with delivery services either. A great apartment complex.

The staff is very nice and helpful whenever needed. My heat was not working, it wouldnt get above 64 degrees. I called, maintenance was here in no time. The worker was extremely nice and efficient, now we are toasty warm!! Thanks, Merry Christmas πŸŽ„

Though the issue was a bit more complicated than we at first thought and an outside resource needed to come in, everything was resolved within 24 hours.The office as well as the maintenance crew was great in communicating and keeping us up to date!! The ladies here at the Casitas are fantastic. They were patient with working with our prior rental agency that made things hard for both of us. Now that we are all moved in and settled I cant imagine living anywhere else. Its like a little mini home in a community of other mini homes. I had a few minor problems that needed to be taken care of. The first, and most important, was a toilet that wouldnt shut off after flushing. I was afraid the water would continue running and might overflow from the tank. Other problems involved ceiling lights, a refrigerator light, and the water filter. I went on line and filled out the necessary repairs request. This was very easy to do. The office quickly acknowledged receipt of my request. In two days Danny was here and after a very short time all repairs were made. Thanks, Cindy in 136.

I would say the apartments are fairly mediocre compared to the price you pay in rent. Nice and quiet area. Neighbors are friendly. Just overpriced. I lived here for 2 years. Never really saw anyone from the office. Community events were rarely held. Parking was never an issue. The backyard space was awkward because the brick walls didn’t offer any privacy. Solid 3 stars.

I might be a resident at the Casitas at San Marcos that lived there the longest, more than 5 years! During a time when I had to live in an apartment, I would say it was very comfortable. I felt safe, the amenities were nice, and it was as close to being at home as possible. Thank you Casitas management team. We truly enjoyed our stay!

I am not a current resident but am writing from the experience as a prospective tenant. I inquired about the Casitas at San Marcos property via email. I promptly received an email back from Maria Escobedo. I ended up calling the next day to follow up on a few questions and see if I could get a virtual tour scheduled as I live several states away. I called, the person answered the phone and introduced herself as Maria. I stated who I was and that I was inquiring about a 1 bedroom apartment that she had emailed me back. I was promptly hung up on. This sounded very deliberate and not an accidental drop. I was a bit perplexed as I have never been treated so rudely. I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt so I called back after a couple of minutes. Again, the person answered and introduced herself as Maria. I explained how I thought maybe we had got disconnected and she promptly hung the phone up on me again. I decided to reach out via email and ask her what was going on and have received no response. Im not sure if Maria was having a bad day or if she just didnt want to work so close to the end of her shift, but I am still trying to wrap my head around hanging up on a prospective resident. I have never received such poor customer service even during times when I have been an unhappy customer.

Honestly this is just about the off-site call center because they have no other accountability. We are currently residing in Washington and set a bunch of appointments to come down for the weekend and tour apartments. My VERY FIRST question to every place I called was β€œdo you offer a short term lease, either 4 or 6 months?” We get all the way through our 15 minute conversation, mentioning a short lease several times. Then we get there and the person says they can only offer a 12 month lease. Cool, thanks for wasting our very valuable time, jerks. Otherwise, these apartments are super nice and well priced.

Wow talk about stellar customer service, I called for a maintenance issue he was there in 15 min on a Saturday. I have been a renter for 20 yrs best place hands down I have rented so far. The office staff made us feel so welcomed with the Casita blanket and welcome card that means a lot to us, never received anything like that at any rental place. Super sweet thank you! We love our new place great location and friendly neighbors!!! Glad we get to live here!!!

Updated review after living here for nearly one year now.Pros: Hardwood floors, up-to-date appliances, many windows to allow sunlight in, tall ceilings that make the room feel even larger, open floor plan in the kitchen & dining / living area, office sends out service men for repairs within 48 hrs or less, office staff very friendly & helpful, service men are also professional and kind, backyards that are always bigger than you remember, close to a grocery store and Chandler mall, and a lot of privacy.Cons: Parking is our #1 issue, we have a 3 bed with 4 adults so we also have 4 cars but are limited to 1 covered parking spot unless we want to pay for a garage. The master bedroom closet door makes a portion of the closet unusable, you have to close the door while inside of the closet to use half of it. There is 0 storage: no kidding, there is not even a broom closet. We had to pay $300 out of our own pockets for a storage shed and our lease ends in the summer so we are dreading taking it down. Those are the only 3 issues weve had though.We have chosen to not renew our lease due to limited parking and wanting more space for our belongings so we are opting for a house next but I cant say living here has been dreadful. I never felt as if my or the childrens safety was being compromised, the location is great, and they are beautiful apartments.Regarding my last review:I complained about reviews that were left by past renters who are racists. Fortunately for them, none of us have had the pleasure of running into any of them and I believe they have moved out. Were all American born citizens but we have no tolerance for racism. Glad to know neighbors can speak their native languages without a neighbor complaining about it now. We spoke with the neighbor who was parking over the line and made the limited parking situation more difficult for us and they are a very kind couple who has not made it a problem for us since.

Hands down an amazing place to live. The front office staff are kind and attentive. Maintenance is resolved the same day by really awesome maintenance crew. We have the luxury of a home with all the perks of apartment style living. We are so happy to have found a place that is beautiful with the hard wood floors and high ceilings. Updated reviewAfter being here 2 weeks short of a year, we still give Casitas a 5 star rating. Were within 10 minutes of just about everywhere we need or want to go; staff is great; maintenance requests are addressed very quickly and handled very professionally. Our only recommendation would be to close the gates at all times (they are open from 6a-6p). We are a gated community with open gates half the day. This has potential to allow non-residents, homeless and/or anyone who wants to come in and possibly burglarize, vandalize or who knows what. Thats literally our only issue/suggestion. If youre looking for a home, wed love to have new neighbors, yall come on.

Dont come here. Office hours are crappy they open late and close early if you work a 12 hour shift. The leading office is only open on Saturday for you. Packages are constantly being dropped off there and cant get them till Saturday. Monthly rent is expensive $1700 a month includes water and trash. The met at fashion center is $1400 a month includes water and trash. Only good thing about San Marco is the pet policy.

I have lived here in the 1 bedroom floor plan for about 3 years now, and I absolutely love it.Yes, it’s a little pricey and the rent does go up a tiny bit every year...but it’s a gorgeous detached mini home with a yard. Where else can you find that?The grounds are always well maintained.The management is really nice in my opinion, but they ARE a little hard to get ahold of sometimes. That being said, anytime I have a problem or issue with something it’s resolved very quickly.For those of you who say there is a scorpion / spider problem.. you can call the office and they spray every Thursday if you want them to.. just need to set up the appointment.

I love my place, the location and the amenities. What don’t like is my surprise rental amount every month. No matter when I pay or how much I pay, there is always a random fee added to my monthly rental statement and no one knows why. Example, I paid my Jan Rent on the 3rd, even paid a lil extra, I get my Feb statement, and there is a $170 fee...for what???This happens often, and every time I call for an explanation I’m told it’s an error and to disregard. But it happens again the following month. If the billing was seamless and clean consistent , I’d have no problem giving Casitsas at San Marcos 5 stars.

Nice location and nice apartment. My boyfriend and I really enjoy living here. However, the leasing office/ maintenance is TERRIBLE. I asked for the remote for the main gate (not even the extra one.. just the one I should get when I move in) and they gave me 5 non woking remote.... how is that even possible. I asked Megan to test the remote with me, cause I already tested the remote for them for that many times... but she refused to do that and insisted that their remote works fine. I also asked my boyfriend to try my remote and didnt work for him either. I belIeve It should be the problem of the program installed in the remote. Please fix that ASAP! That really make me feel uncomfortable of the quality of leasing office/ maintenance team.

So here I am, after over a year of living here, still googling the number to my leasing office when I see reviews pop up. Its my day off, so I say to myself: Eff it, lets scroll!After reading a few negative reviews, Im feeling a bit defensive. I dont even have anything to do with the company, yet here I am!Up until the end of April 2018, my husband and our two dogs (an american bulldog and a pitbull: banned in most apartment communities even though chihuahuas are what should really be feared) lived in a single family, 3 bed 3 bath home. We decided to downsize, figuratively and financially, and found ourselves in awe of the Casitas; specifically the 1 bed 1 bath layout. After touring, we immediately put down our NOMINAL deposit and moved in mid-May. We have been here ever since and have no plans to leave!Lets touch on past negative reviews!OFFICE HOURS:other reviews say open late and close early if you work a 12 hour shift......yeah. most leasing offices/businesses work on a 9-5ish basis. Fortunately, The Casitas are also available by phone. Megan also responds pretty promptly to email even with everything she has to do as a property manager.PRICING:The same review mentioned that their apartment cost them $1700/month, but the Met only charges $1400/month.The CASITAS list their prices for a 1244 sq ft THREE bedroom starting at $1675/month. If you live in a 2 or 3 bedroom casita, you do not have any adjoining walls with neighbors. They are freestanding. You also get a mini yard. No, not a 7x7ft patio. A yard. A yard that they recommend renovating with patio sails and pavers. A yard where you can safely grill or even smoke meats!The MET AT FASHION SQUARE list their prices for a TWO bedroom at 988 sq ft for $1355 - $1863/month. They do not have 3 bedroom floor plans available. The MET has personal patios or balconies. The MET has shared walls above, below, and on each side of you.*These are more than apartments. They are basically townhomes. The Casitas require apartment deposits - not first and last months rent!*Pricing goes up at EVERY. SINGLE. COMMUNITY. when you re-sign a lease. Educate yourselves on minimum wage and its effects while youre researching rental pricing increases.NEIGHBORHOOD:One lady had a very long rant about the community, claiming that management is horrible and the clientele is hostile.First of all, the clientele is actually the neighbors. Everyone is friendly. I walk my dogs around the complex and everyone says hi. I drive off the property each day with waves from close neighbors and neighbors from the other side of the complex, as well as the lovely maintenance men.However, no matter where you live, sometimes there are neighbors for which you just dont care. That isnt The Casitas fault - they arent matchmakers!Additionally, I have never seen a dog in the pool. There are ample spaces for children to play - including sidewalks. There are built in corn hole areas and mini golf! Everyone is great about picking up after their dog - for the most part.SAFETY:The gates in the gated-community are open too long.I havent lived in any apartment complex where the gates arent open for a certain amount of hours. During those hours, maintenance is ALWAYS driving around in their golf carts, acting as security. I have never seen a squad of police cars blaring lights in this complex. I have seen a firetruck once because someone died. I have never seen homeless men. Neighbors keep chairs and decorations on their front porch without them being stolen.I have found one scorpion on the property, and it was on an outer wall facing the community sidewalk. I squashed it. Not in my yard - probably because management routinely has anti-scorpion squads come through. I can only imagine that those who have an infestation of scorpions in their unit must not know how to use their screen doors - which are included in the rent. Screen door repairs are also included.Ignore the negative reviews by bitter people. Meet with Megan or any of the team and take a tour!

I came from whast is suppose to be a luxury apartment that is brand new it was the worst year I have ever had with a complex. Sarah is who showed me the place I am in now and she is a rockstar. Its such a delight to have someone help you and truly follows through and gives you the customer experience of a lifetime. The whole staff and maintenance crew is on their game everyday. My husband & I were residences of Casitas @ San Marcos for 3 years, along with our 17 yr old daughter. We treated our apartment as if it was our own as it was our home for that time. We moved out in mid July & gave more than the required notice. We stayed past our May lease end date to allow our daughter to graduate h.s. & we were told by the manager-Meghan Cave that we would not be charged a month to month fee for that short time but we were. When we brought it to her attention she said sorry & would refund that as we were charged. The refund never came & when questioned she said she had to charge us due to the fair housing act. Well, why then did she promise to our faces no extra charge & then a refund? We had many discrepancies with the rent through years & she was constantly adjusting as we were catching charges that shouldnt have been. I would never recommend this community as the clientele is hostile-you get a dirty look if you wave to a neighbor, the management is horrible, the pool was closed for months on end for vandalism & when its open, dogs are in there putting peoples health at risk & when I spoke to the manager-Meghan Cave, she rushed me off the phone and said I know. I complained later & her response was that she couldnt find the offender & she closed the pool for a week-that was an outright lie because I watched to see if the pool would be closed & it wasnt. But maybe it was her friend because I told her I took pictures as Im an R.N. & my daughters health is at risk but she wasnt interested in a tenant complaint who could identify the offender. There are no amenities other than the pool & no sidewalks for kids to play & no clean grassy areas for them to play as no one cleans up their dog waste & tenants complain about kids in parking lot playing-definitely not kid friendly. If youre looking for a place where you have no amenities, management that doesnt respect & cherish long term tenants that take care of the property & pay their rent on time, neighbors who you never get to know-THEN CASITAS AT SAN MARCOS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. Oh & after 3 years of living there normal wear & tear is to be expected-forget about getting your security back. They put up these cheap blinds that naturally after 3 yrs in the AZ sun get brittle so an inch of 1 slat broke & charged me almost $50. Told me I left the oven dirty and kept security for that even though I told them that I self cleaned it for maximum time but the door could not be cleaned because the dirt was in between the tempered glass-exposed carpet changes color from sun when furniture has been on it for 3 yrs in Phoenix. I know this complex seems enticing as they are stand alone but the manager Meghan Cave has had to be corrected 3 times on our refund and still acknowledges she owes us money. You couldnt pay me enough to rent from another MEB property. They are dishonest in my opinion Now if people like us had so much trouble, what do you think the chances are that you wont. I even left them a coupon to steam clean the rugs & we had built a stand alone deck in the back that was not attached in any way to the building & we were begged by the manager Meghan Cave to leave it, the hose roller & the chairs cause she wanted it for herself and the other employee that lives on the property. Please send us the proper refund minus your deductions as you still owe us. Its been a nightmare ever since you took over. My hope is to prevent anyone else from getting sucked into this dishonest complex run by a dishonest company named MEB in my opinion. I hope this review helps people see the complex for what it is & how petty & unappreciative you are to good long term tenants. We truly feel taken advantage of & mistreated. If this review helps 1 person look a lot closer than good for them. Oh & by the way, the complex is scorpion infested-we have killed at least 20 in the master bedroom, bath & living room. If youre into scorpions in excess then once again, this is the complex for you.

Love this place. Feels like a home and not an apartment. I love to listen and watch my movies fairly loud and even sing karaoke with my fiancΓ© and friends. My previous apartment did not allow for us to do that. Now living in a home with no attached walls and no one living above us gives us the ultimate privacy. We have had several get togethers and watched movies and listen to music at loud volumes and no complaints. I dont hear my neighbors and they dont hear us. No more listening to my neighbors footsteps above us. The backyard feature is awesome too. Can BBQ in the privacy of your own backyard etc. The management is super friendly and they really make you feel welcome. We live in the three bedroom and it really feels roomy. We looked at other luxury apartments like Chandler Camden but you have to pay a lot more money for less square footage and only two bedrooms. It was a no brainer to get more actual livable square footage and an extra room for three hundreds less per month. If you want the ultimate privacy, feel of living in your own home, and friendly management staff, then this is the place for you. I highly recommend this place.
