I rented a vehicle from Avis in a different state than the one in Cedar Rapids. While on way to our destination we got a flat tire. I called road side assistance and they advised me to get to the closest Avis to trade out the car since the tire would not hold air. After calling 6 different locations Cedar Rapids had a vehicle. I have to Mr Riley was the most courteous, helpful agent I talked to. He went above and beyond in helping me. Thank you so much for that Mr Riley.

Staff were friendly and personable, willing to wait very late (After 12:30am) for us to pick up our car when our flight was delayed. No line, walked right outside, grabbed our car. Excellent refill options for fuel. We loved this small town airport Avis!

It was easy, quick and the staff was very friendly! I made my reservation on Priceline. When I arrived, they were ready for me! I was in the road within a few minutes. I returned my rental car at 4:30 am, so I used the drop box to return it. Super easy! I would use Avis again!

Very nice desk people! The car could have used some detailing before I picked it up. How do I know it was cleaned and sanitized? Carpet could have used some vacuuming. It was a nice and comfortable car!

The folks at Cedar Rapids airport were the most helpful and efficient and non-pressuring. at both checking in and returning. truly the best rental car experience i have ever had in all my many years of travel.

The cedar rapids Iowa location is where I picked up my car. I drove to Colorado and the morning I left I blew a tire no biggie stuff happens except there was a plug in the tire and its what blew out. Now keep in mind they charge you for a new tire if you get a flat. So the last person had a flat paid for a new tire when yet they just plugged it. If we had left at rush hour it would have been so so dangerous. Then when we called they said go to the closest Avis in Denver as we had a donut on the car. We arrived at Avis the lady helping us said we had to leave and fill up the car otherwise we would have to pay the 10$ a gallon price. We explain we had a flat tire and we were told to go straight to Avis. We had to then find a gas station to fill up the car. I also have pictures of the plug they put in our unsafe car

When I reached Cedar Rapids Iowa, I was greeted with the shock of my life. I had reserved a rental from Dollar car rental and they politely processed to take me through what I deemed as unnecessary changes. Needless to say, that car rental did not transpire. However, Mr. Riley of Avis was able to accommodate my needs and had compassion upon my plight. I had traveled from Houston to pick up my daughter my Iowa University and without Mr. Rileys assistance, I do not know what me may have done. I am extremely grateful.

Easy pick up.

Booked my car rental through this location. Got to California and my price completely change and basically tripled. Not thrilled and have been working with customer service to no solution. They just want to scam you out of the most money they can.

The agent went over and above to help me. The professional that she was with kindness was so needed at that time for me...I will for sure only use this car rental service and highly recommend Emily get some recognition for her service.

Our last minute change in itinerary was no problem for Avis. The vehicles provided were outstanding, even the compact car was in excellent condition and loaded with family friendly options. An overall horrible experience with this company. We called before reserving a rental online asking the representative if we prepay for the rental does the person that prepaid have to pick the car up. Response was no they dont, but one would think the representative would inform the customer that when picking up the rental the person coming does have to have a valid cc to pick it up. So Avis is called for a refund on the rental and they said itd be 3 to 5 business days for the refund. Yesterday the refund is received and Avis only refunds 180$ of the 330$ they took from the account. I will definitely be contacting the better business bureau, be telling every soul I know to never use Avis, and will never be using Avis again myself either.

The lady who worked at the desk was so helpful. She answered all my questions was patient with me. She was polite really nice. Even if I would have had a problem I would have returned simply because she had a wonderful personality. She helped me feel at ease with my rental. I would definitely send my friends and family to rent from Avis. Please extend my thanks to her. She went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and valued.

When I droppes off the car the lady was ruuudddeee and the car was not clean when i picked up. Still got charged $200 for not even 2 days. And it was my very first time renting a car from anywhere

When I arrive at cedar rapids airport,I needed a car and all the others car rental places wouldnt rent me a car because I didnt have a reservation , but Avis was able to get me a car , thank you.

When I rented the vehicle the man that helped told me if I was at 1/2 the tank they can fill it up at the $1.99 rate. I took it in at 1/2 the tank and they told me they had to charge me for the full tank. That is not what was said to me when I picked up the car.

Fast check out and checked back in. Rental contract explained to me well. Vehicle was very nice. All around very impressive.

Although the airport was being renovated, the car rental area was clean and well organized. The person behind the counter was a little busy due to my delayed flight (which caused me to change my pick-up time which they easily accommodated) and other flights having landed at the same time, but she did a fantastic job of getting everybody in and out as quickly as possible. The car, Kia Rio, was clean, easy to find, and a nice little drive. The return was just as easy. Park the car, fill out the form, and drop it off in the key-drop. Made my trip a lot easier. Thanks!

Avis is very subpar for its elite members compared to its competitor Hertz. The cars are always of terrible quality old and with bald tires, almost unsafe to drive. You get no upgrades to car level and almost no cars have satellite radio. When you are an elite member with Hertz (Presidents Circle) you get Mandatory upgrades to next class of car service EVERY time and almost always a car with satellite radio. Hertz treats its Elite members so much better and even though in our company transition to Avis Avis status matched us with Hertz it is hard to know I even belong to any rewards program with Avis bc theres no benefit.

This is a first class operation! Well run, great prices, excellent customer service. I would highly recommend them. Such an easy process and smooth transaction. What a great group of people to deal with! Keep it up!

The Nissan Sentra drove like a dog. It felt like the wheels were going to fall off. I’ve yet to have a positive experience with Avis. Unfortunately, this is the cheap deal and my corporation makes us use them.

Charged me 40 dollars more than contract. I had a one-way rental dropping off at DSM. The staff at DSM shredded my original contract and gave me a receipt that far exceeded the contract amount. They could not decipher what the items on the receipt were, and told me to contact the Avis at CID.Took me quite a while to reach CID Avis, and I found out they charged me for nominally keeping the car for perhaps 25 minutes beyond 24 hours. They counted the time after they printed the contract, and did not consider that I had to wait to pick up the car, inspect the car, and eventually exited the parking lot. Also, in DSM, one has to park the car in a parking lot with no attendants. The sign says that one has to return the key to the counter. But there was no directions on where their counters are. There was no signage telling customers where to find the counters.We had to haul our luggage around, going to different floors, asking a policeman, and then the visitor information booth to ask, and then finally found where the rental counters are. This Avis considered all of that searching and waiting time as part of my rental time. At the end, they claimed that my gas tank was 0.7 gallon short of what it had originally (, which they stated to be 14.0 gallons on the receipt). While my original one-way rental net total was $57.70, they charged me over $100, and they claimed that I had held the car about twenty-some minutes over 24 hours. I had never encountered a major car rental company (AVIS, Hertz, Enterprise, National, Alamo, Budget, Dollar, etc.) that would make such unreasonable charges. I suppose this is location dependent. My experiences with Avis LAX have been great. I would try to avoid renting from Avis-Budget-Enterprise from this location in future.Avis in LAX and many other cities have been much much better in my experience. Still waiting for them to resolve the overcharge issue.

I’m am a preferred customer and I have been with Avis over 10 years. The Avis at the Cedar Rapids airport is very frustrating. Haven’t met a friendly employee yet. They have way too many hidden charges. They have a good selection of car, the cars are clean and the overall price is good. The customer service just SUCKS!

This is my second week and both times I was unable to select my own car from the avis app as an avis preferred member and had to wait 10-20 mins at the preferred counter. Clearly thru dont have enough cars to support mondays at Jax.

Staff were very friendly and quick. Was in and out to the vehicle extremely quickly. Major downfall was the cleanliness of the vehicle. Was dirty outside and inside with stains all over the back. Vehicle preformed well just needed washed, dusted, and shampooed.

As a NEW Business OWNER I was taking a trip out of state and had been searching weeks for a Rental Car when I can upon AVIS! I started my reservation online and right away I was IMPRESSED by the ease of the rental process & how quickly I received my online quote. AVIS was the CHEAPER of the several other Car Rental Businesses I was comparing too. Along with I was offered a FREE UPGRADE , along with the PRICE I chose AVIS! Upon arrival at the airport we picked up our vehicle and was on our way just as easy as that. The Customer Service Rep. was not as friendly as I had hoped for but it was fast & easy. The Avis clerk was very helpful. I was very glad I had a reservation because my flight from Chicago was delayed about an hour. By the time I collected my luggage, the car rental area was like a ghost town, all the other rental desks were empty. Avis had my reservation and the clerk made sure that I had directions to my hotel and where my arbitration was being held the next morning.

2nd time in a row that I get a car which stops working. Avis customer service is poor. People were rude to me (and I was very friendly on the phone). Besides, I was traveling internationally and Avis couldnt even call an international number.
