My flight was delayed and we would miss our connecting flight, we got a different flight pattern that got us to Cedar Rapids later than originally planned. I called three different times and talked to three different people to ask if we would be able to pick up our rental car after our flight landed. All three said yes even with our flight landing after closing time. When we did get to Cedar Rapids, there was no one there to help us get our rental car. Both my fiancée and I were stranded at the airport for about two hours waiting for my parents, who had to work at 5am the next day, to come get us. We did not get to their house until 3 am. If they say “yes you can get your rental car after 10pm because your flight delayed” do not believe them. They will cancel your reservation at 10pm. Nothing was done when I called and there isn’t anything more that I can do. Worst experience 0/10.

Im an Alamo insider member because I know I can always expect a great car at a great price, but there are a couple little things I experienced in my last trip to Cedar Rapids, Iowa that could be improved. 1) There was no Alamo labeled booth inside the airport - not even a sign in another booth. I had to ask in a competitors booth to learn that Alamo was handled by the guy in the Enterprise booth. 2) There was no person at the car return area to check in the car. There was no instructions on signage nor from the check-in attendant nor the paperwork I was given, so I left the keys on the dash. When I walked by the booth on my way to boarding the attendant told me I must bring the keys back to him, so I had to go back to get them.

I have used Alamo Car Rental multiple times as traveling. The entire transaction has always gone smoothly from the on-line rental, the preregistration process saving me time, to the counter pick-up, and through the drop-off. They have multiple vehicles to choose from that have always been dependable. Rent a car through them with confidence.

We were so happy with the service we received. By the time my hubby got our bags I had already received the keys and we were on our way check out was just as easy I would highly recommend them. Thanks for helping our trip go so much faster going

Quick one day rental at CID from great and friendly people. Processed me VERY quickly and sent me on my hurried way.Great price! Good vehicle! Excellent service. Why do I need another rental company when Alamo has my back?

Heres how it happened for us, in detail. Did our online search for coupons, promos and discounts over a week and Alamo came the cheapest, as always. We needed the car for 6 days so we rented for one week since weekly rental is cheaper. We were doing long distance travel so we went for an economy car since its high MPG makes the trip significantly cheaper. They day of pickup I Was running late so I called the branch and kindly asked them to wait for me for 5 minutes after the closing hour on a Saturday night and they did. I arrived on time (5 minutes late) and the agent cheered me without any concern about me being late. However, they did not have an economy car leaving me with two choices: take a minivan or a pickup truck for the same price or upgrade for a premium with extra $10/day. Quick calculation: $70 extra for premium car or pay ~$70 as extra gas... went for the premium for sure. But when changing my reservation, the agent said that it was actually $15/day extra, so another $35 for me + tax, which I took but this time with being little unhappy, because not having the economy car is Alamos fault and the upgrade should rather be FREE. Anyway, the car itself was brand new, it did an avg MPG of 32, and our trip was enjoyable. Thanks Alamo.

Quick, painless pick up experience. Outstanding drop off at Minneapolis airport. My wife forgot and left her iPad in rental car. The manager at that location personally took the time to go find it and get it to us before our flight departed! FIVE STAR SERVICE!!!

This was one of the best rental experiences I have ever had. The young lady at the counter in Cedar Rapids was outstanding in friendliness, helpfulness, and knowledge. Her name escapes me, but I think it might have been something like Brandi. I also really enjoyed the car, a new Buick Envision. I look forward to the next time Im in Cedar Rapids and in need of a car!

Great experience and excellent customer service. Vehicle was very clean. Upon bringing the vehicle back, they were very accommodating! You can also reach them at the specific location if needed, which we did because we were running late.

The vehicle (VW Atlas) was relatively new and certainly spacious, but the interior was not clean at all. The windows were filthy and many surfaces (steering wheel, touchscreen, climate controls, etc) were sticky and kind of disgusting. Yall need to do a better job keeping your vehicles clean.

Pleasant service. Nice clean car at a good price - but : I was told that there was an ice scraper in the car, but it was in fact not there although it was needed. Also, the manual was not in the glove box. I would have liked it to help me find the rear window defrost button that I had to hunt for.

Absolutely AWESOME Service!Had to rent a car to travel for business to Chicago, and when I got to the counter the guy I spoke with was extremely friendly. He knew that I was looking for a car that would provide me great gas mileage and he gave me a free upgrade from the Compact I originally booked to a Nissan Rogue which got phenomenal gas mileage.5 Star experience all around!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent customer service and very professional at the counter. I was expecting a smaller car and was pleasantly surprised with the car i was rented! I will definitely use them again! 4 out of 5 stars only because of the airport construction.

Recently rented a SUV through Alamo and vehicle was great as was the service. We use Alamo whenever we travel and have never had a bad experience!

I had a cancelled flight followed by delays. All that I needed from this counter was confirmation that I would still be able to pick up a car originally reserved for 8:30 if the new flight arrived before midnight. They will not answer their telephone at their posted (319) phone number. It switched to voicemail and nobody returned the call. They had several hours to do so. I then called their toll-free C.S. number and ended up with a call center (in India?) with somebody that wanted to speak to me using a script and direct me back to the CID counter. Cancelled reservation.

This is the second time Ive had issues with Alamo, a car hit me on the highway and I needed a new car, it wasnt until I got very upset with them that they offered me a replacement vehicle to get me back home from out of town! Will not be going back no matter what deals they have!

Rented a Ford Expedition to move out of my apartment and it was a whole lot cheaper than using a moving company truck!! Thanks Alamo.

We were very pleased with the service we received. The car was nice and clean, a little bit of a walk to the car, but only because the airport was under construction. The service at the counter was exceptional. The gentleman was very friendly and helpful.

Quick and efficient pickup. Only grief is that the drop off area is not at all well marked. Ended up driving through the airport loading/unloading area, and it wasnt entirely clear to leave the car on the curb when returning. Thats on CID though.

Had to return a car early and i got no refund and they charged me another fee because it was not where i rented the car. They are crooks and i tell you to not use them ever.

Reserved car months ahead of time and then had to wait 30 mins for a car as I watched others walk up and drop off keys. Get someone outside and process vehicles so people can get on with their day.

Pathetic employees and manager, reguse to help a long term customer with a simple issue. Was highly disrespectful and rude not to mention that their corporate customer service is outsourced and not even to a decemt country like india, england or ireland. Pakistani, Bangladeshi, or whatever the heck that was dont understand or speak simple english and easily get confused by a simple sentence. Out of the 15+ calls not a single employee of this horribly lousy establishment did their job. I will never use alamo ever again!

Terrible customer service. Dont expect them to ever answer the phone if you need to change your reservation. They either never answer or hang up on you. Instead you have to work through a powerless customer service agency that tells you to keep trying to call back. Will never rent from this location again.

Theres only about 2 rental places. I think they are bit more pricey, but overall a nice place.

Straight trash... employees just hang up on you.
