Absolutely horrible!!! I signed an agreement to pay $349 to use the vehicle for a week with .34 a mile to incur if I went over 2400 miles. I came back with 2506 miles and was given a bill for $699.00 the older lady at the counter was completely unhelpful, left every question I had unanswered. This was the worst way to come off a wonderful vacation with my 10 year old son with 0 explaining and just a defensive, belligerent stance. If your going for that feeling of being taken advantage of of your just flat out hate being cared for, I would choose this company.I just got off the phone with Dan Callahan.I originally had this as a 1 star review, he called me personally 10 minutes after my review. I could not be more appreciative. The money can always be remade but his attempt to make it right and keep his customers happy speaks huge volumes to me. Budget saved the day for my move. I rented a moving truck from another company and they completely messed up my reservation. Budget was able to help me out and I was able to move on time. I have now purchased two great vehicles from Dan and his team over the years. They are the easiest people to work with buying a vehicle. They are honest and not pushy about getting a sale. They helped me get this Impala I had my eye on and I couldn’t have asked for a used vehicle to be in better condition. *EDIT 2* I had the second detailing done and it was fantastic, definitely a 5 star job. However, given that the first one was awful, I think 3 stars is still a fair review given their consistency issues. And the fact that they stole my change.*EDIT* Changed from 1 star to 3 because they have fantastic customer service. They called and offered to redo my detail for free, and to give me a loaner car for the day. Im hoping this second cleaning goes well.Dont recommend the detailing center here. My seats still had spots and the surfaces still had dust and dog hair on them when I picked it up. There were also streaks of cleaning product in places. It was clean but not to the level I wanted or expected for paying $130. They also stole all the change from my center console which Im still mad about.

Terrible job on rust repair had fixed a month or two drove two times

Bought a BMW 540xi and owner claimed it was his car. After a month of owning the car clear coat started chipping. Took the car to body shop just to find out more then half the car was just cheaply re painted. Basically a cover up job. Also sold the car with cheap off brand tires. Had to have all 4 replaced the first week. I would stay away from this dealership.

Budget repair shop did a great job fixing front end damage to one of our vehicles! It needed a new bumper, fender, headlight, etc. The paint and repair came out great! They also did a great job of working with our insurance carrier.

Just got my car from here, and it was in fantastic condition. Any minor issues they took care of before officially handing me the keys. Great to do business with – they get down to business, are not pushy at all, and are looking for the best for their customers!

Budget Used Car Sales is a great place to buy a car!! The cars are so well priced and in beautiful condition inside and out. My husband and I rented a car that we thought was $184.00 for 4 days knowing that its 300 miles per day. Which we thought was crazy!!! When we returned the car back to the rental place we WERE CHARGED A WHOPPING $384.00!!!! 200 MORE DOLLARS THEN OUR ORIGINAL PRICE!!! ALTHOUGH IT WAS .35 EVERY EXTRA MILE THIS PRICE WAS JUST RIDICULOUS!!! OUR FIRST AND LAST TIME EVER GOING THERE!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND NOT TRUTHFUL ABOUT THE PRICES AND CHARGES!! I went to CR budget car sales the day after a storm hit Cedar Rapids. The place was open with no electricity , phones, internet. Yet they were open for business and not complaining about the circumstances.I was shown the car inside of the shop. They tried to open doors to let some sunlight in and get me a flashlight to look at the vehicle.I said I would come back when things were back to working.Staff was helpful and knowledgeableCame back 2 days later and met Dan ( owner ) ended up buying the car with very little haggling it was a good deal.Dan was working on still cleaning up debris from the storm and selling and renting at the same time.It was a little over an hour from the time we walked in test drove and then walked out with car at 6:45 pm. Thats the only was to do business , quick and efficient.Its good to see someone who actually works and shows up at his business and takes pride in ownership , just a good guy..Give them a chance when looking for a rental or purchasing a vehicle .

They Keep Charging My Credit Card after a week of returning the car. Its 2020 and sad to see people like them still exist with a mental thought process like that. Best place to buy a car from! I am extremely happy with the Kia soul. I mainly wanted to write this review because I was so impressed with the business and the character of those who ran it. I have been to so many car dealerships and have been in contact with many car salesman who have only just been looking to get a sale at any cost. Their upright, honest, and frank personality made things easy. For me, thats what really sealed the deal. I felt like I really could trust the products that they were selling. I felt like I got a really wonderful deal, and very reliable ride that will last me throughout medical school. I really appreciated it.

Best money I ever spent. Really. My husband said to quit exaggerating when I said that but I mean it! I brought my car into Budget to get the interior cleaned up after I had attempted to detail it myself in the driveway and failed repeatedly to get the dirt from puppy paws and hair out of the seats. Took my car into Budget and they did an amazing job. Worth all the money spent, time saved and frustration avoided.

Two days later ANOTHER $70$$$$ THEY said with there 15 cameras they couldnt find me dropping it off LoL so I had to confront them about the EXTRA CHARGE.I FILMED IT AND THEY reverse the charge..they said......... FILM when you drop offs or they Will charge u again and again

Even the document fees were under $200. Dan gave us a fair deal on our trade and a good deal on our new SUV. We were in and out under two hours! My wife loves the SUV (that still smells like a new car)! Thanks!

I went in desperately because no one else was available with a truck. Upfront the woman with the fake long lashes said that it would be 99 dollars including a 99 cent fee per mile, and 30 dollars plus the cost of gas if I didn’t fill it up. She said that it would cost 290 if I didn’t turn it in by 8 AM the next morning. I turned it in at 10:20. The company charged me 290 dollars and made my account go negative, so now I’m having to deal with fees. Had the woman tell me the price before swiping I would have walked away. I will never suggest going to Budget, because clearly they are crooks. So when I called to get my money back they state it takes up to 2 weeks to process a payment. I’m contacting my bank today to see what they can do for me. Please don’t waste your time. And don’t wait until last minute. Go elsewhere. I also want to say to the woman with the fake eye lashes you are so rude, and the woman in the back office needs to be the face to face person.

Reserved a truck two weeks in advance. Day before we were notified that the truck would not be available, the only option was several feet smaller. I threw on an extra star because they tried to offer us a discount, but I ordered the big truck because I needed the big truck. Ended up cancelling the reservation instead of trying multiple trips with the small one

After spending a couple of days looking for an older car for my kids, we spied a Mitsubishi Endeavor in the lot at Budget. After the test drive, we decided this was a car we could finally consider, after driving and looking at 100 others. We were allowed to take the car for a mechanical inspection, and in the end, Dan was fair, no high pressure, and we settled for a good price. He was honest and didnt try to deceive us regarding any aspects of the transaction, and now the kids have a dependable car at a fair price. We are more than happy to recommend Budget used cars to our friends. We would shop here again.

I do not recommend Budget truck rental. My experience was a nightmare. Despite their affordable price, you end up paying in other ways. I rented a truck to move to a different state. When I picked up the truck the front desk was saying how the boss had moved all the trucks the previous night and put the keys wherever, not in their right place. Shows how careful they are. On my journey I had to sit on the side of the road twice. This ended up prolonging my half a day trip into a full day. My first encounter was when we called to make sure that a check engine oil soon light wasnt going to harm us and while awaiting confirmation the truck dies and we have to wait again for someone to jump the truck. Second time was when a car dolly tire shredded. My nerves and patience are shot with budget. A lot of stress and uncomfortableness was put on me, I still am suffering, and today I tried filling a complaint through their customer service. I called one number and was transfered twice, started talking with the guy and the line was cut off. Called again and they put me through several other transfers. Then one lady sent my complaint in and only offered me $100 bucks back from the $1070 I initially paid. I was unhappy with what little compensation she offered so I chose to escalate the situation to her supervisor. She couldnt do any better. I agreed to take back the $100 but I felt that it didnt cover the nightmare I went through. I started to ask one more time if there really wasnt any other way to get my refund and before I know it said had said goodbye and hung up. A lot of the people I spoke with had accents as well. Other reviews I have read said they use out of US call centers. Other reviews Ive read were similar on how horrible budget really is. Dont trust them

Called Budget to see what I needed to rent a compact car for the day. Was told I needed a valid drivers license, an insurance card and a credit card. When I got there was informed I needed $150.00 on my credit card for a deposit. My card had $120.00 on it. Figured I needed the credit card to pay the $40.00 fee for the day, was not told about the deposit on the phone. Even though I had $300.00 in my purse, she would not let me rent a car. We live 30 miles away, so it was one wasted trip. And the person I dealt with was not pleasant. Not happy at all! Went to Freese Motors in Monticello, showed them my license, they took down my credit card information and I had a car in 5 minutes! And Linn was very nice! Small town is the way to go! Never would I do business with Budget! And Freese had a better price!

This was by far the easiest shopping and buying experience Ive ever had. I found a vehicle online that I wanted to see and set an appointment. When I came in for my appointment, I took the vehicle for a test drive, traded in my vehicle, got approved for financing, and bought a new to me vehicle in about an hour and a half. There was absolutely no pressure from Dan to make a quick decision and he disclosed everything I needed to know up front. We didnt even need to haggle over pricing on my new purchase or my trade in value. I felt like Dan was honest and just super easy to work with. And, I love my new purchase as well.

I returned a truck here that I had spent over $800 renting. The truck was due on Sunday but since they are not open on Sunday, I had to return it using their after hours drop box. I came in first thing Monday morning to finish the check in and they charged me $10 because I used the drop box. I asked the lady politely if she would refund it since they werent open on Sunday but she declined. This represents neither fair nor understanding customer service values. Thankfully I was able to call their corporate office and have the fee refunded.
