I like the technician that comes to my house he is very professional and does a great job. However, the office staff leaves much to be desired; their phone etiquette is poor at best, they sometime forget to submit billing for services. I have used Halt for pest control for over 10 years and everything was great until about 2 years ago.Again the technician that services my house is great and is the only reason I have continued to use Halt.

I have used this Company for about 2 years or more and they are always Professional, Knowledgeable, and always listen to our needs. I would highly recommend this company if you are having issues.

Halt service has provided excellent service which resulted by getting rid of all of the rats and ants to date. Lee, the technician is thorough, provides informative information about rodents and ants, why and how they seek food, water and shelter and has provided helpful recommendations to use in the future. In person-customer service is excellent. And, Richard, who was here this morning, filling in for Lee, provided the same quality of service and customer service as well.

Edit: Customer service is great at responding. We have talked about the situation. They said that their technician did come out. They apologized for not giving me a call and wanted to reschedule. They said they try to give everyone a call changing my review but will give them another chance in the future and update review accordingly.I had an inspection scheduled. They even emailed me asking how the service was. I didnt have anyone come to my house. No phone call. It was my 5 year anniversary but it was the day they could do it. So I stayed home all day. I didnt even question the pricing I just wanted the best reviewed company. I guess lesson learned. Waited over a week and now have to set up appointments with someone else.

We are very happy with what they did. Awesome job and the bait they use won’t harm pets are people. Best of all, the ants are gone!

Second time we’ve had Halt out to take care of a rodent problem. Second time they have refused to go under the house. Our crawlspace is clean but the techs that come out feel it’s unsafe. We were able to talk the first guy into it after about an hour of negotiating. Second guy refused to go under and set a couple (more) traps. We are left with a rat problem and a horrible smell. Blaming it on miscommunication of the office. Not our problem. If we pay for pest control we would expect the pest control company to take care of it. Not avoiding the problem. We will be finding another company to take care of it.

The service that is provided was fine. its the notification thats not ok. I wasnt informed that someone was coming by today until just before they arrived.

The guy that came out did an amazing job of looking at every place those pesky ants could be! He explained just how the bait works and kills the ants. I was very thankful of the explanation and the care he took with our particular issue! :-)

I signed up for the 90 day service. The communication was good and the technician arrived on time. He thoroughly explained the process before the inspection and service, which he did efficiently. Im happy so far but will be most satisfied once the critters are gone.

My renter reported finding a rat in the garage. I called HALT and set up an appointment. Technician came and checked garage and put out some traps and inspected the exterior of the house. He did not check the attic or the crawl space. Reported that he didnt think the rat had time to build a nest anywhere, like the attic. This doesnt seem to reflect how much I paid for this first visit, $295.The initial receipt I received as the landlord didnt have any specific information on the service that was performed. I only received info after making a call to HALT. With all that said, the assistant I worked with on the phone was amazing, listened and responded in action. Im hopeful I will be getting my moneys worth on the follow up visit in 30 days.I am requiring that on that visit they inspect attic and crawlspace.

I have used Halt on more than one occasion to take care of home pests. At my previous home we had the tiny odorous ants and Halt was very effective at removing them from the home. At my current home, Ive had them come out for inspections and have found their review thorough and well thought out. They have a comprehensive approach to identifying needs and are honest about whether services are needed or not. I definitely recommend.

Used service for approximately one year still have ants still have rodents didnt seem to do any good after one year of follow-ups and service. Also they came by for one of the quarterly follow-ups without calling without emailing and were only able to do maybe a quarter of the work they wanted to bill me for a full service they did not check any of the traps or do the sides or the back of my house they said they were kind enough to lower it to half the price even though they didnt even do half the service. And I am supposed to get a phone call or an email before they come out they did not do that It was unfair that they were trying to bill me for an incomplete job.

Have been very happy with your service except for yesterday, when a technician came to do a quarterly pest treatment around the outside of the house. I swear he was there less than five minutes! I did not see him doing any spraying. Usually I see and hear the techs as they do the treatment. I never saw him yesterday. When I wondered where he was, I looked and the truck was gone! He left a pamphlet at the front door. He must have done something, but to be honest, I have no idea. Please do not send him back again. Thank you.

Im not especially happy with the service, no. I called asking for a specific service and the person who scheduled my appointment let me believe they would be able to help me. Not only was the technician not able to help, apparently, I only paid some guy to walk around the perimeter of my home, but they halt refered another company to start the process all over without talking to me.I made my needs very clear when I called initially and halt has done nothing to help me meet those needs.

We got bed bugs when we first moved into our apartment. The apartment management hired Halt for the treatments as they are their contracted pest control company. Halt is claimed to be a very reputable company however they dropped the ball hard this time.The inspection was poorly done as they came in looked around for a few minutes and told us we have bed bugs in two of the bedrooms and carpet beetles in another. They didnt inspect our downstairs common area because if they had they would have seen the other carpet beetles. After the inspection they provided zero paperwork as to the status of the inspection, what was found, where they were found, what the next steps are, or even a business card with their website. Nope, instead we were given a verbal just Google Halt and all the info is on our website... Really, just Google your company? No professionalism with a business card or documentation proving they were here and what they found? No prep sheets or info to help us prepare for treatment or cost of treatments or even how any of it works.After googling Halt Pest Control we found their prep sheets but werent told if it was low to moderate infestation or a high infestation as they had two different prep sheets and were not told the level on intensity the infestation was.Their website doesnt really have much on it as to what to do when you get bed bugs, advice on what to do or not do, etc. The prep sheets had info on them that when I told the employee who did the first treatment (there was a different employee for every treatment) some of the stuff we were told to do from the prep sheet he laughed and questioned why those instructions were even on the sheet. So, hearing that the prep sheet couldnt really be trusted anymore... Some reputation they have...The treatments were setup for one treatment every two weeks for six weeks. However, after painfully getting the first treatment setup (horrible apartment managers along while dealing with unprofessional Halt) they never confirmed or told us when the second or third treatment will be. We assumed the same day and time two weeks after the previous treatment but even after inquiring with our apartment management we got no confirmation.The whole time the treatments were happening we continued to see more and more carpet beetles downstairs. Halt told us they would be killed when they spray for the bed bugs. Finally, the last treatment happens and we have no clue what we are suppose to do.They placed lures under our beds to trap any bed bugs that might remain but how long does that take? If we go to a friends house is there still a chance of spreading the bed bugs as they arent dead yet? We were given zero information as to what we can and cant do after the final treatment and for how long after. Can we start cleaning again?Then there is the final last issue with how unethical some of their employees are. They had the nerve to cause he said she said drama by telling our apartment management we did not know the origins of the mattress the employee claimed was the source. We (my roommates and I) were never asked about the origins of the mattress and if we had we would have told him the exact origins as we have recipes. Its also extremely hard to have a mattress that has had a bed bug protector on it long before moving into our current place be the source. Especially when we didnt have bed bugs prior to moving. All of this information the employee was saying was funny enough never documented or put on the treatment notes. Then again all Halt documentation was vague or non-existent.Oh also, they do windowed treatment times of initially sometime between 9am-5pm they will show up to do the treatments to reducing that to sometime between 8am-12pm. How do you not know what time your going to show up in the morning? Does Halt have appointments before 8am or do they not know how long their services take to do? Its very unprofessional and has way to much of a comcast we suck and dont care about you feel.

The tech was very informative, he explained the process in detail. He told us to give it about a week for the bees to be totally gone, hope I don’t have to update my review after a week. Very nice guy

We hired them on a season long contract and they missed a couple of visits but billed us anyway. So we called and cancelled their service but they came out anyway and billed us again. Then they called and refunded our last visit..ie

The good news is that Halt Pest Control determined the flying critters were dampwood termites, not the bad ones. The bad news is that we now have to determine why the flying dampwood termites are there. And once that is determined, we have to fix it. Needless to say, it could be a big job and anticipated to be an expensive proposition, but absolutely necessary. They were not there 14 months ago when a new roof had been installed. We appreciated the honesty and thoroughness of the advice we received even though we, as owners, were not able to be on site at the time of inspection. We believed every word of the Halt inspectors information and have since been onsite with the roofers and contractors verifying what we were told.

We live at the edge of Forest Park in Portland, so we use regular service to prevent issues. We hired Halt Pest Control after using Barrier for years. For about the same cost, this company has significantly raised the bar over our previous service, especially for customers like us, who commit to an annual contract and pay for quarterly service. First, they gave us a detailed evaluation of any problem areas where pests could intrude into our home. Second, they came more often at the beginning and meticulously track activity. Third, they have a computerized tracking system with barcodes, so any bait stations they check can be tracked over time, and are easily discoverable in case you get a different technician. Good news, only a little outdoor activity, which declined over time. Also, the small gap in garage door bottom seal was discovered and easily fixed before it became a point of entry! They continue to work through COVID-19 with mask, gloves and social distancing. We decided there were no issues requiring them to come inside this quarter, but we are just pleased that they can do so safely if we need it. Many thanks to the team at Halt Pest Control!

Halt was the fourth company I had look at the mystery attic sounds I was trying to resolve. The technician gave me info that the other three either didnt want to be honest about or didnt realize: The rodent signs he saw were old and did not indicate a current problem. Halt saved me from spending literally thousands of dollars on a solution that wouldnt have worked. While they didnt identify the source of my problem, they should be commended as a reputable company that seeks to do the right thing.

Everyone has been really polite. I put off having pest control done due to fear of pricing and not having it work. Halt Pest Control is affordable and their people explained all they did and why. The even told me what I needed to do to help control my pest problem. All around a great company. Finally, before I agreed to use Halt, I looked at reviews. I can honestly say I have never seen such consistently high reviews. From what I have seen so far, they have truly earned those good reviews.

After trying several other companies which didnt help I realized I could ask Halt folks. When I first reached out to this company ,I was helped over the phone by Delaney (sp?). She was great! very sweet, helpful, and seemed very honest. Cole was the one who came to my home and was very nice and informative as well. I was given a 3 hour window, but live close to where I work, so I asked if they could just text me when they were on the way and I could meet them there. I was a bit nervous about doing that because some office/tech communications dont always seem smooth or complete. But no, it worked great. Cole texted me when he was on the way and I met him there. That worked perfectly. I think my ant situation is dying down, but it is too soon to tell. If it is fixed, you could really make this a 5 star review.

Very helpful. They treated once for fleas and I have not had problems since. I sent pictures of another bug and asked for their help of what to do. They responded within hours with simple cost effective solution. If you have to have friendship with your bug company this is the one! Thank you Halt.

Treatment for ants—I have been having issues with them since spring. My townhouse was treated on the exterior for the ants and also for spiders which had so many webs and egg sacks on my cedar siding. All of my siding was cleaned off and then treated. I have not seen any ants on the inside or exterior of my home—such a relief! Thank you.

I am SO impressed with everyone at Halt. We’re in the process of selling our house and during the inspection, the inspector tried to look in our crawlspace and couldn’t because it was filled with bees! The inspection (and sale) were put on hold until we dealt with the problem. I was FRANTIC. I called Halt at 12:30 and by 2:30 Steve was at my house to save the day! Both Steve and the woman I talked with on the phone (Delaney?) were kind and professional and went out of their way to help. I am a senior citizen and have been a customer of HALT for a few years now. They are always just a phone call away, always courteous, and always listen to my concerns about any problems I am having with pests at my home and schedule my technician immediately. Justin Walruth is my technician, and he was sent over to my house yesterday because I found a new mouse hole outside at the back of the house. He is always punctual, polite, informed, experienced, and fearless when he goes under the house. He found the mouse and took him away. I want to thank him for all his good work and for his kindness and good heart.

Halt Pest Control has been treating our house for ants and other bugs for nearly 20 years. That alone should tell you how happy weve been with their service. Everyone Ive dealt with in this company has been knowledgeable and helpful, and their treatment has kept those pesky ants at bay. We sometimes think back to those days when wed come into the kitchen and find the countertop covered with ants, or when wed discover a candy bar one of the kids left on the floor crawling with those guys. Hasnt happened since we called Halt. Enough said.Update June 21: I wrote the above review in (probably) 2019. Now that were halfway through 2021, I can report that nothing has happened to alter our satisfaction with Halt. Everyone Ive spoken to, both onsite and via the phone, has been pleasant and helpful. We still love the fact that theyre always available to take care of our yearly ant attacks without complaint...or charge beyond the quarterly fee.

Rob informed us of the process to be done, and how it worked, following his assessment of the situation. He adjusted the proposed schedule to accommodate the roofing and siding construction being done and returned after it was completed to touch up. While I would prefer not to have the insects and mice at all, and no need for the service, it was a pleasant experience. I certainly recommend Halt to those needing to be rid of pests.
