I highly recommend this cute spot. Kaiti had me feeling SO GOOD when I left my appointment last night. I got A LOT of hair cut off and some color and she did exactly what I wanted but I couldnt quite explain. She understood what I was getting at and executed it beautifully. We talked the whole time and I really had fun. Appointments with this much change take a long time and can drag out, but I really enjoyed my experience at One One Nine. Definitely coming back! :)

My experience here was definitely positive: my stylist was on time for my appointment (I didn’t have to wait), it’s a clean and cute salon, everyone was kind, and my stylist cut my hair well. I gave it four stars because as a boutique salon I was expecting something a little ~extra~ and that wasn’t the case, unfortunately. Other boutique salons have done head/shoulder mini-massages during the hair wash, or given away sample products that they used on my hair that day for me to try at home, or offered a small chocolate and a refreshment during the cut. You know, something small but above and beyond standard service. So: I’d definitely recommend the service and the salon, but it may not be the full boutique experience like you expect.

Cassidy did a great job on my haircut and highlights!! I hadnt had my hair this short before, and it was the first time Ive ever committed to doing blonde highlights, which I was very hesitant of. But turns out I LOVE IT!! Ive gotten so many compliments on my hair over the last month and Im obsessed with it!I found @hairbycassidymack on Instagram after doing some research for Ann Arbor stylists. I loved her work and the vibe I got from her profile. I booked my appointment through her link in bio, about 2 weeks in advance, and overall had a great experience! Pricing is pretty reasonable for a high end downtown salon. Definitely would recommend and will be returning when its time for a refresh!

Have had nothing but positive experiences at One One Nine. I have seen Kelly and Cameron and they are both INCREDIBLE! Would highly recommend to anyone in search of coloring services.

This place is very unprofessional, they double book clients and send them away. Ciara Berry is one of their worst workers she’s doesn’t know how to handle her bookings and she is unreliable.

After talking to the hairstylist Sierra, she told me she doesn’t want to do my hair and she would prefer me to go to a different stylist. I have never experienced anything like this. Waited for this appointment for 4 weeks, drove 45 minutes to the place and paid $6 for parking only to be send on my way after 5 minutes being in the salon! I have no words.

I absolutely loved my experience here! Everyone is so friendly and helpful, and my stylist Stacie made me feel like an old friend. She was able to welcome me and give me exactly what I was hoping for! I cant wait for my next visit.

Our experience here as first time customers will unfortunately be our last. The stylist was technically proficient, and the highlights turned out very well. But customer service matters, especially at this price. And frankly I was disgusted with the experience. The stylist started the morning by berating my fiancee for not knowing enough about what she wanted (like the exact name of the color tones) and belittled her attempts to help with pictures - none of them were good enough apparently. Practically had the poor girl in tears. My fiancee soldiered on, but the stylist didnt say another word until she was almost done. A horribly awkward three hours. Oh and it was her birthday too, and yes, the stylist knew.

If you’re a colored blonde- Ciara is your girl! Salon is nice and clean. Prices are fairly reasonable for an upscale salon. Very clean and safe feeling in a COVID world. Wouldn’t go anywhere else in Ann Arbor for my hair :)

I called to schedule a free consult, ask questions about Keratin treatment and the administrative staff was extremely unprofessional and lacked knowledge about the services.They charge you a 25 dollar fee and ask for your credit card information just to get on the schedule, with the promise that they will return the money they took from you to place a spot in their schedule.Their website states that part of their philosophy is respecting peoples time, but based on my experience and the reviews below regarding scheduling, the truth is the opposite.No salon or business should be charging you any money when youre hiring THEM to provide a service for you BEFORE that service is completed. We, as customers, are hiring this vendor, to work for us, with the agreement that they provide a great service, we pay them the prices they list on the site with a tip.This is manipulative and oppressive in nature, because theyre acting like you owe them something before you can evaluate the type of service they can provide.I can understand providing a CC on file to save the spot, but to charge you before you come is an organic injustice.It speaks to the philosophy that customers owe us something simply because of who we are, not how we treat you, which is a subtle form of narcissism.Stylists, please find a more equitable and just place to work let your talents flourish at a salon that faces customers in a way that isnt predicated on a power play.The girl answering the phone sounds like a high schooler, asked for my phone number and I immediately get a text demanding a response - the scheduling is ridiculous.I have a graduate degree in management, and this IS NOT a way to build trust with customers and maintain or grow a business. As a business owner myself, it is my job to serve my guests and customers and to help them solve their problems, not create more problems for them with controlling rules and demanding them to give me their credit card number, name and cell number before I can even explain to them my services. Do yourself a favor and find a quality place in addition to quality hair stylists. I am sure great stylists work there, but after this front desk experience, there are plenty of salons with awesome stylists that dont treat new guests in a patronizing and controlling manner.Oh, lets screw them over before they even step foot in the salon! - said nobody everIm a firm believer that TIME, not money, is our most valuable resource, and this place is a waste of time. Id rather pay more for this Keratin service at a place that treats me well on the phone, in the salon, AND has talented stylists. Comprehensively, all of it matters.

I recently was supposed to have my hair done here. Since I work for myself and lately have been working 7 days a week I needed to have an evening appointment. The first available was about a month away. So I scheduled it, gave them my credit card for their cancelation fee and waited for the day of my appointment. I had found this salon on Instagram and I live about an hr away. The afternoon of my appointment I realized I had received no appointment reminding texts or phone calls. So I called the salon to make sure before I drove an hr there on rush hour. Apparently they had put me in their system, got my credit card on file, you know just in case I canceled on them, but never actually scheduled/blocked my time with the stylist. Now everyone in the salon was completely booked and no one could help me. They asked if I could just come another day? I explained that I had booked this about a month ago, had blocked off my schedule for the afternoon and my schedule was already booked again 7 days a week for the next 2 weeks. Basically she told me shed check to see if anyone could fit me in and would call me back, but never called me back.I was excited about getting my hair done here, just getting my hair done for the first time since March. This salon looks like they do nice hair, but the front desk and scheduling is a nightmare. So if you do decide to go here I would confirm your appointment yourself and when they mess up your appointment dont expect them to do anything to make it right. Apparently they are busy enough that individual customer satisfaction doesnt really matter to them.

This was my best experience with hair salons in the United States. Britney fixed some horrible stuff that I had done to my hair and made a nice balayage (pics are before and after). And it took her just an hour!! Thank you for your fantastic job!

My best friend came in about an hour ago to get her hair lightened and dyed. She made and appointment on Monday after finally saving enough to have the service done proper and was so excited all week. She had been looking forward to this for months actually!! While making the appointment she specifically said it was a lighten and color, they said no problem!She got in the salon and was immediately told that they didn’t have time for her even though she had an appointment! She spoke to the manager who offered her a free haircut! Why the hell would she want a haircut when she was just getting a color change?? That’s a sorry attempt to diffuse the situation and make the client happy!!Because of your poor customer service and clear time/schedule management issues, she is now home crying and upset.How do you turn away AN APPOINTMENT?!And how do you justify a free haircut when she just wanted a new color?

I’ve been seeing my girl Brittany for over a year now. I started off with black hair, and had gone to another salon for a balayage because I wanted to go lighter. They messed my hair up so badly I was embarrassed!! A year later, and my girl has finally gotten me to the beautiful blonde I was dreaming of. My hair is so healthy and I didn’t lose any of my length. I really recommend her and this salon. My friend also goes here although she goes to another stylist.

I booked an appointment and since it was my first time, I was not familiar with any stylists so I was randomly assigned Jess, I believe. I visited this Salon yesterday and was very specific about the kind of cut I wanted. I gave detailed descriptions and I even showed her a reference picture of myself from a few months ago that I wanted her to replicate. Everything was going well at the beginning and I had no issues with the process. However, since I was going for a rather short cut, its hard to tell what the stylist is doing until you see the completed product. Once the cut was finished, I immediately knew this is not what I wanted, but I assumed that I just needed to get used to it or style it in my own way. So I told her I was happy with it and went home. Throughout the rest of the day, I could not help but be bothered by this experience and grew more and more unhappy with it. Then, as I was styling my hair the second day, I noticed how choppy and uneven my hair looked from all sides. There was no precision in the cut and because my hair is extremely short, it is very obvious and hard to hide. So, not only did I not get the cut I asked for, but the one I got was poorly executed. I would not recommend going to this salon because it has a high price that is not reflected in the results.

It is worth the two hour drive and the higher cost to get the best haircuts. Im more than happy.

I went to the same salon for 20 years and decided it was time for a modern update. I stalked Brittany on intsagram before I went, and finally got up the courage to make an appointment. WOW did she exceeded my expectations! I’d never gotten extensions put in before so she explained all the different options for my hair type. I’m kicking myself I didn’t go see her sooner, I’ve never loved my hair this much! The salon is gorgeous, they offer you a drink while you wait, and it’s always very clean. What more could you ask for?

I called and scheduled an appointment on Monday to get my hair colored on Wednesday. I told them I had never been there before and I need my hair lightened and dyed,I wasnt asked for any additional information,just okay well see you Wednesday. I drove 40 minutes in the snow just to sit down in the chair and have them tell me they did not have time to dye my hair. I was offered a free hair cut but thats not what I needed, I needed my hair DYED. I thought the whole Point of making an appointment was to reserve the time??? Dont go to this terribly unprofessional salon, they will waste your time.

Tiffany is incredible. Always an amazing, meticulous cut and perfect color. She asks great questions when changing style to ensure she knows exactly what you want and gives great advice/guidance on how to style and care for cut. Couldnt recommend her more highly.

Went here looking for a new place to get my hair done and had unmitigated success. Results passed the can I do it myself test after the first wash. Then I discovered, in a pinch, I could even let it air dry and the cut looked good. I was really impressed by the atmosphere, professionalism and overall enthusiasm of this salon. Really a fun, great place to get your hairz did.

Love this place and my stylists - Lauren and Chris! This place is upscale yet somehow still feels down to earth. You will pay a greater price, but its worth it for the quality of service and outcome. Im always more than satisfied with my haircuts and the products here. Ive become a regular :)

Ive been seeing Sam for about 3 years now and I absolutely LOVE Salon One One Nine! Very chic and comfortable and the location is perfect to walk downtown after getting a haircut and show off your new style ;) I love how easy it is to schedule an appointment (they usually get me in at the exact day and time I request).

Took my daughter here for her 13th birthday. Josh L. Did a fantastic job of making my little girl not only look beautiful but feel special on her birthday. Staff was friendly and accommodating as I waited for my daughters hair to get done. Will be back for sure.

Booked an appointment for the first time here. Showed them a picture of a previous haircut of mine and told them to do exactly that. I wasnt expecting a perfect recreation, but they hecked up the cut and my hair doesnt resemble what I requested in the slightest: waaay too short. Haircut isnt bad or uneven, but not at all what I wanted.

I have had haircuts both from Brandon and Chris. Both of whom I have recommended to friends. I always leave refreshed and looking so sexy! :)

I have tried a few places around Ann Arbor and left completely unsatisfied. One One Nine finally got it right! The price may be a tad high, but for a cut that lays right for my short hair is worth it.

I went to this place because if the rating I saw, but sadly I had the worst experience. Especially when I discussed my concern with the supervisor, he was very rude and unprofessional. Instead of fixing my hair he offered me shampoo and conditioner, like I can’t afford it. I would’nt recommend this to anyone I know.

Dont ever get a bad haircut at anyone of their salons will be banned for life. This is part of the Tricho conglomerate. I went here religiously for 1.5 years. I am going over seas for a month & could not get in due to scheduling conflicts on both ends. I was recommended to Tricho salon where they completely butchered my head. A pair of rusty garden sheers would have been better. (I have 3 uneven sides) I demanded a refund and because of that am now banned from one one nine because I got a bad hair cut at their parent salon (Tricho) Who turns away a always on time customer who tips very well???

Lauren did an excellent job on my cut and balayage. It seemed a little pricey but it was my first time having my hair colored so that may be the norm.

Quality colorists and hair treatments. Stylist delivered exactly what I asked for via an impressive color correction.
