Came here for a manicure and pedicure. They don’t have the massaging chairs like other salons. The esthetician was very thorough! That being said they also took 1.5 hour to complete the mani and pedi.

My husband and I have gotten 2 couple massages here. We absolutely have loved our experiences. We had the same 2 people do our massages both times. They were wonderful. We felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. Bellanina is a wonderful relaxing place. We will definitely be back. The only complaint I have is for the couples massages upstairs, it is very cold up there. It is in an open area so it makes it harder to keep warm. If the heat could be cranked up or multiple blankets be used, that would be better. Other than that, we LOVE Bellanina. Thank you!

I love coming here for waxing! Laurens amazing and always manages to calm my nerves. I remember feeling really nervous getting my first ever wax, and Lauren kept the conversation up the entire time to distract me from whatever was going on. Ive been coming here ever since, and quality of service never disappoints 🤩 I feel like the money I spend here is always 100% worth it. Would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Was an overall wonderful experience. Massage therapist was professional and helpful. Facial was life changing. My skin was noticeably softer and it seemed to take off the years. My manicure and pedicure was done by a true protectionist. My only disappointment was parking, but it’s Ann Arbor.

I love this place! I just joined their VIP program and have been twice this year for facials. My skin feels better after the 2 treatments and I love the staff, especially Karley! She’s so sweet and does the perfect amount of talking while also just letting you relax and enjoy your treatment. I’ve also had a massage here and the massage therapist was awesome (I wish I remembered his name!). I get excited for my monthly treatment and can’t wait to go back!

My hydra facial was amazing. Lauren was wonderful! She explained the process and was very thorough. I have left facials before (not at this location), where I have felt criticized or judged by certain aspects of my face (I.e. sun damage)... this was NOT the case with Lauren. She was so warm and welcoming! I would recommend this service and Lauren to anyone!!

Had a steam shower and 60 minute therapeutic massage with Steve. It was great! The facility is more than meets the eye and beautiful inside. Steve took the time to understand what I was looking for in the massage and the steam shower was a great addition to start after coming in from the cold. Great experience!

Steve was amazing! I enjoyed being able to talk with him all day we had so much in common! I felt beyond relaxed after everything and felt there should have been a disclaimer bring your own driver you’ll be too relaxed to drive home on your own!

This day spa continues to offer the most lovely services. Been going here for years and one of my favorite things about arriving for appointments is sitting in their cushy waiting area and starting out into the zen garden, especially on snowy mornings. So nice to have such an enjoyable place with such a substantial menu of services available here.

Steve did an excellent job - I was very relaxed and less tense after my massage. Bellanina is the best place to go for any spa service. Ive been a monthly customer for over 8 years now! So many wonderful massage therapists, estheticians, and staff. The location, despite the busy area near Kerrytown, is always very calming. I also appreciate the lean towards more organic products along with the local tea they serve. I highly recommend Bellanina to all my friends/family.

My Bellanina experience was relaxing and pleasant from the moment I laid on the heated massage table surrounded by nice, rain-forest feeling air and relaxing music, with the sounds of birds and flowing water. Maggie ORourke was an excellent masseuse, professional, polite and obviously attuned to her work. We agreed upon a structure for my one-hour, almost full-body massage and it proved to be a good balance, with a lot of welcome emphasis on the knottiest areas of my back. The conveniently located restroom contained a nice surprise: a heated Japanese toilet with buttons for bidet options; although the floor in there could have been a little cleaner. I felt very pampered throughout my visit and admired how well-thought out the space and amenities are at the spa. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. I had received a gift certificate to Bellanina for Christmas but did not use it until six months later in June 2019. If I could afford it, I would go to Bellanina each week for a massage.

I have been getting service and products from Bellanina for years. My facials with Lauren are always amazing. She is so skilled at determining just what I need at any given time. She is such a nice person as well. The receptionists are always pleasant and efficient. I use their products and love them.

Great first experience. Lovely staff, wondereful atmosphere. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was that I had a gift card from 2011 with $185 and they apparently expire after 5 years. I didn’t see that fine print anywhere, so I was pretty bummed at checkout. Otherwise, I was happy. I will be back and have already recommended friends try it out.

GREAT!! I had the Tapas Retreat so massage, facial, and nails. The woman who did my massage and facial was wonderful. She explained to me everything she was doing and why. In addition, she was super great about working on my problem areas and communicating with me about how to make it the best experience for ME. The woman who did my nails was also great to talk to and helped me (the most indecisive person ever) choose colors that would look nice with my skin tone. Loved the whole thing, thank you all so much.

I would have liked to have a hand or arm massage or something while I was sitting with the mask on, it felt a little strange to be laying there with the mask for a while and nothing else. But I was happy with the service, I felt very acknowledged and respected for my needs and specific requests. My skin also feels very good today and I think the facial helped my healing and redness/inflammation.

I recently had a pedicure with Zoe and that was fine. I rate it a 4. I had a massage with Katie and that was fantastic - I rate it a 5+. I also had a manicure with Zoe and I rate that a 3 at best. Although she asked if I wanted round or square nails, she did not ask about length. Yes, I had a couple of shorter broken nails, but I thought she would try to keep the length on those. Before I realized what she was doing she took clippers and cut my nails as short as they could possible be. She had already cut two before I noticed so I couldnt really stop her. The end result looked good, but by that evening the polish had already chipped along the cuticle of one nail. By the fifth day post manicure 5 nails were chipped at the cuticle. There was definitely a language barrier as I did not understand everything she said. She was very nice, but I would not go back to her for a manicure.

I had a wonderful experience! Maggie hosted my ultimate bliss spa retreat and she great!! Ive never experienced such thorough and effective body massages. Im making another appointment with Maggie in 6 weeks.

Two great wax experiences -- the temperature of the was was just right so I had hardly any redness post procedure, making it easy to go to brunch without the dreaded Red Forehead.

I recently chose Bellanina for a birthday gift for my fiance. I was assured that my fiance would be treated specially for her birthday. We ordered a facial, a manicure, and a pedicure. When my fiance came home from her services, she was distraught due to the extremely rude service she was subjected to. The women who worked with her did not even think to say Happy Birthday, and barely spoke to her during her services. Her nails were scuffed up to the point where she left with blood on her nail. Not only that, but the woman who worked with her during the facial insensitively commented on her problematic skin, and had a rude tone during the facial. We did not order an acne facial as the purpose was for her to relax on her birthday. This was not the experience I was hoping to give her for her birthday and we will definitely not be coming back again.

Oh my goodness this place was wonderful! I had a gift card and finally used it and was impressed! All of the staff were great! Only complaint is parking and give yourself extra time to get to a structure instead of running late and getting stuck in a parade like me :)

Wonderful facial and massage.

I want to start off by saying that the atmosphere and the service is great. Everyone there that I met was absolutely nice and sweet. However, the main request I had was for my eyebrows not to be thinned out and I left with thinner eyebrows than I have ever had my whole life, to the point where I spend hours crying. I would consider going there for other services, but never again for eyebrows. I feel traumatized from the experience.

Absolutely so disappointed in this place. My mom and I have been clients here for well over a year and receive monthly hydro facials. Wanting to treat my grandmother for Christmas, we purchased her one and booked it for the day after Christmas. When we walked in we were greeted by Brielle at the front desk. She claimed that they couldnt service my grandmother because we were 15 minutes late and it would ruin the schedule for everyone. She rolled her eyes and had a rude smirk on her face the entire time.Luckily, the girl who was to do the facial came out and said no problem she would make it work.While my mom and I were waiting for my grandmother, we went up to tell Brielle how upset we were that we had been greeted this way especially since it was a gift for my grandmother who had never been to the spa before.It gets worse...She proceeds to tell us that it was rude of us to be late because apparently our appointment was at 10:15!? Okay even if it was, it was still only a difference of 15 minutes. She told us that we messed up the whole schedule for the day and that we should be thankful that they even took my grandmother because they dont take clients who are late. Again, giant smirk on her face and rolled her eyes countless times at my mom. It was horrible. She went back and forth with my mom for over 5 minutes telling us all about how it was our fault.When we proceed to pay for the service, Brielle is nowhere to be found. The manager came in instead and talked with us about the issues and tried to resolve it.In the end, happy with the facial itself but appalled at the way we were treated by Brielle.

It was my first time having a hot stone massage and it was the best! My check-out, on the other hand, was tedious! The clerk was unaware of the 20% weekend special you offered and insisted on giving me a birthday week 10% discount, which was nice, but not what reserved. All ended well, but it was frustrating.

Booked a massage for my wife and requested a particular staff member based on the reviews here. She ended up getting getting someone different than requested (Sandy) which wasnt that great. I dont like name dropping, but for the sake of someone else on here reading Ill do it. 3 stars for massage, 5 stars for the facility.

I received the Mom-to-be retreat from a friend and had the best experience at Bellanina. My massage was truly relaxing and I liked having the choice to lay on my side or on the pregnancy pillow (I chose side). Everyone was very communicative about the process and what would happen (its been a while since I received a massage, and this was my first prenatal massage) and very friendly. I followed the massage with a mani/pedi and they had a special healthy snack waiting for me along with a lot of water which I really appreciated and did not expect. I love being allowed time to soak during a pedicure and was given about 10 minutes or so to do so while I ate which was great. Ill say the mani/pedi was the best Ive had in Ann Arbor. Overall, I felt pampered and walked out feeling so relaxed - which is needed at 30 weeks pregnant. Thank you!

Had my first Brazilian wax on 6/15/16. Didnt really no what to expect and frankly I thinking it was going to be very painful. Lauren made me feel comfortable and pretty pain free. Lauren is truly good at her craft.

Went in for my first ever Brazilian wax and was disappointed. The person doing the waxing was rushing through everything (although I completely understand the need for going quickly). However, she could have slowed down just a bit to make sure she was getting everything. It was very painful and huge amounts of hair were missed, especially around the labia area. For the amount of pain caused, at that point it didnt matter if she did it again to get the rest of the hair! Overall, my reason for going was due to the fact that I didnt want to have to shave because I have extremely sensitive skin and can only shave about once a week. Unfortunately, when I finally looked after she walked out of the room, I knew I was going to have to shave anyway after the appointment to get rid of all the remaining hair. Moreover, she actually tweezed a HUGE patch of hair just over my pubic bone. Talk about seeing stars! I thought I was going to pass out after that one. She told me to come back in 4 weeks but Ill more than likely be going somewhere else.

My wife and I showed up for a couples massage and were greeted right away. Then taken to the waiting room with some mango green tea to await our massages. We both enjoyed urselves and would recommend this place to anyone! My wifes prenatal massage was just what she needed!

I purchased the Bellanina foot treatment and Mikayla (spelling?) did an amazing job. She made me feel comfortable and she was very pleasant. The environment when you walked into the salon was great all the way from the waiting room up to my room! The paraffin wax was an awesome touch as well. The only cons I had was that the water got a little cold during the foot soak and the massage was a little shorter than I realized it would be but Mikayla gave me a description of other services that could benefit/interest me in the future for the type of massage I need/want. She worked out the kink in my injured foot and leg and was very good at what she did. I liked the foot treatment because it came with a scrub, massage and ended with the paraffin wax. I have no complaints on the customer service and will be returning again! Thanks Bellanina Day Spa :)

The atmosphere and customer service is superb from the moment you walk-in, to the lounge where you de-stress and the room for your facial, massage or treatment. Lauren, my aesthetician is highly skilled and provides a very full service treatment with amazing results. You leave relaxed and ten years younger. I have been to other highly acclaimed spas in Chicago and Washington DC and the atmosphere is too hectic and noisy and the treatments are not as superior.. I highly recommend Bellanina.

I called the manager to speak with her prior to writing a review. There was simply a misunderstanding about a retreat ($325) that was gifted to me and gratuity. The manager is a joke and laughably condescending. Unfortunately, she is highly unprofessional as others have stated, and turned her comments oddly personal. It was quite bizzare for her to be so defensive. I have patronized high end/luxury spas all over the world, and fortunately those establishments have policies and customer service to match their brand. I wondered why the manager’s comments were so aggressively focused on customers’ tips when I called with two very simple questions, but with a quick google search, I found out via a comment from a former employee (on Glassdoor): “Salaries were very low, as the owner openly expressed that because it was an upscale salon our tips would make up for our low salaries.” I see. As much as I wanted to revisit, I’m glad I had this encounter — I’ll happily never return nor recommend. I hope she gets a wake-up call.Edit: In full disclosure, my concern was not regarding the amount of gratuity the hard working spa professionals receive. It was regarding my specific package, and what advance payment of gratuity options were (because those who are treated may not be able to afford it) if I were to purchase and gift a retreat. The manner in which the manager spoke to me was appalling. It just so happens that I was using my business’ recorded line so I’d be more than happy to provide the voice transcript or raw audio from this call to support my contention pertinent to the inappropriateness and escalation of the manager’s disposition.As of 4/15/19, I have not been contacted to provide the voice transcript or audio that is still saved on my phone; one cannot fix what they don’t acknowledge.
