Very nice staff, prices are okay. We got 10% off the merchandise for renting a bike. The bikes are in good shape, each comes with two separate locks. We enjoyed it.

Naturally, we rented a tandem... and we had a great experience with it at the Vondelpark. Nadia, besides being super nice, was super helpful when explaining the tandems specificities. We met other members of the team when we returned the bike, and you can tell there are only nice people working there. You can see it from the way they interact between themselves and other clients. Push-overs dont seem to be part of this team :D

Great location for a bike ride around the park.Inside the bike rental shop they have free hot drinks and WiFi. Great to warm up after a ride around the park.Had to leave ID or €300 deposit.

The rentals here are reasonably priced and super easy. Give them and ID, pay for your bike, and youre off. The bikes were decent, and they came with lights for the front and back, locks, and hub gearing. Great way to check out the city although sometimes frightening and exhilarating.

At our hotel they were asking for 50€ cash deposit for the bikes, and we were like... sorry we need the cash. At A-Bike you just need your ID, the bikes are comfy, and I have to say, the guy from Saturday 12 of September, 2020 on the late shift was super nice and cool, very helpful, tremendous service. We returned our bikes the next day and easy as giving back the receipt and the girl was also super cool. If you are not expecting to have fancy bikes, then look no further and get them here :)

I would recommend this place to rent a bike. Very accommodating to your schedule and the prices are fair. The bikes were well maintained, had 3 gears, lights, and a bell. Plus you need to experience riding a bike through Amsterdam

Friendly staff, happy to help with getting the right bike. Can hire a bike for a minimum of one hour, up to a day. Its a bit busy to try and ride in town if you dont know what youre doing, but just a 5 minute walk from Vondelpark main entrance and you can use it to ride around the park.

Great bike rental just around the corner from Vondelpark. We rented for 2 hours (think it was approx. €9 each for 2hrs) and we cycled around Vondelpark. They adjust the bikes in the shop to suit you before you leave and also explain the lock system, you can also opt to buy insurance too. Highly recommend!

As per usual fantastic service as I have come to learn the majority of Dutch people provide. Excellent range of bikes to hire. Personally I find the back pedal braking system incredibly hard to educate myself in. I hired an electric bike and it was the first time I have tried. I went electric because I have COPD. Excellent shop and well priced

My sister rented a bicycle here for an hour so she could ride in the Vondel Park. She wished to ride a bicycle in Amsterdam but wasnt confident to ride on the city bike lanes. She felt safe in the Vondel Park and really enjoyed riding the rental bike. The weather was too cold for me so waited in a warm cafe drinking coffee and hot chocolate.

We got a 3-person tandem bike for me and the kids. Awesome fun. Great staff and service.

They rent high quality bikes compared to other same shop rental bikes in Amsterdam city center. Me and my partner visited here to take a bike ride around the nearby vondelpark, and it was well worth the money we spent.The chap who served us was very polite and was able to speak to us in English with ease, he wasnt pushy with additional sales and was very keen to make sure we were safe on Dutch roads and cycle paths.We rented for two hours without insurance and had a great time cycling around like proper Dutch people. If we had more time on our holiday we would have gone again without a doubt.Absolutely fantastic experience, I would highly recommend doing this if youre on your holiday!

DO NOT USE. TOOK MONEY VIA INTERNET. CANCELLED TOUR NO NOTICE. THIS US A PATTERN IF YOU READ OTHER REVIEWSNo advance notice of cancellation. The email confirmation with meeting point was not updated and thus we arrived in time to a closed nonexistent store. We were told it was a ten minute walk when it was 30 minutes to alternate location. The store employee located the tour operator, a smug man with not a care attitude. He said it was cancelled and to email the manager on Monday. We planned for a three hour tour, paid in advance and lost half a day. The young man speaking with us could have taken us, but did not want to as the tour was only two people. Don’t plan and waste your time. They are not trustworthy, nor reliable. THEY NEED TO REFUND THE MONEY. DO NOT USE AS NOT RELIABLE! I never write these but wanted to warn others as we lost half a day on our trip!

Rented two tandem bikes with another couple. The bikes where very easy to ride. For a tandem bike it was very stable making it easy to ride even if you have never riden tandem before. If you are a tourist I would recommend riding in the park near by. I gave them 4 starts because they where not very efficient in checking out bikes/ taking payments. We had to wait 30 minutes to get our bikes.

Excellent and prompt service. It is conveniently located near to Vondelpark. Very great and helpful staff. The bike I received was a bit uncomfortable and left me sore the next day. Not sure if this is just a feature of the bikes in Amsterdam. I got an entire 24 hours for the price of what most other places charge for 3 hours. This is was a great deal. I’d recommend renting from this place.

I loved this place, they are all really nice, the price is perfect and the experience we had with the bikes was amazing! If you go to Amsterdam I advice you to rent a bike here and go around the city for a day, you wont regret it!By the way, coffee is great!

Nice and easy. Rent of the most basic 2 bikes (but even they have 3 gears) in 3 minutes and giving them back in 30 seconds. Nice! Just ensure to have 50 euro cash deposit per each bike

Amazing bike service. Right next to the park.The people who help, explain everything. The bikes lock (with key) if you want to stop for a moment and not worry about the bikes. The bikes themselves have gears and are great bikes. We had them for an hour but you could have them for a whole day. The prices are VERY reasonable. Would recommend.

WARNING FROM A LOCAL. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!The lack of professionalism, reliability and customer service Ive experienced is beyond frustrating at this point. They still havent paid me my 450€ deposit back after numerous phone calls.SUMMARY: Poor instructions, 1st bike didnt work, 2nd bike didnt work due to those poor instructions, 450€ deposit is not being transferred back after numerous phone calls and no follow-ups to my calls despite being promised to me.Heres what happened:Last Saturday, I rented 3 e-bikes and paid the deposit of 450€. Although we barely got anything explained, we were excited for our trip. After a few minutes of cycling, one of us had the feeling that the e-bike wasnt working properly. Turns out, it didnt. We had to cycle all the way back to replace the bike for a new one.We left with another brand new e-bike, but the guy again (another guy) barely explained to us what we needed to know. After taking out the battery for an overnight hotel stay, the bike simply didnt turn on anymore. We really tried it all. Again, we had to cycle back to the place in order to get it checked out. After half an hour waiting, it was finally our turn. Apparently, there is tiny button under the battery that no one told us about that needed to be switched on. Even the store guy said: Of course, they probably didnt explain that properly...We returned our bikes the day after on Sunday. They told us, we will get our 450€ (!!) deposit back within 1-3 business days.After 3 days on Wednesday at 17:00 I still havent received my money. I gave them a call and told them to please refund me my money. Its not 45€ that were talking about here. The girl on the phone (who was actually nice and tried to do her best) told me that shell send the person in charge a whatsapp message to refund it asap. I thought, its fine, mistakes happen and itll be taken care of.Thursday at 18:00 there is still no money in my account. I call them again and she messages the one in charge again to give me back my money. I told them that I want my money back and that were talking about 450€ here.After receiving nothing om Friday, I gave them another call at 15:00 to ask whats going on and that I expect my money back asap. The girl on the phone told me once more that the money was already transferred on Wednesday and she wrote down my number so someone will call me about it today.Now its 18:15 and Im sitting here with no phone call, no money and I have no clue when I will receive my money back. I paid from a Dutch account and you can transfer money instantly here.UPDATE: Received my money by now, but what an ordeal.

Good. The price is a bit high and the bike are not so new. But still good. We also got an insurance to make sure that we can leave the bike wherever we can and it was quite easy to lock.

In this place everybody is available, helpful and professional. I suggest you to go to a-bike rental Vondelpark because they surely meet what you need. Take one of their bikes and visit Amsterdam the same as Ive done!

Towel is needed to sit on. The grass is dirty!

Not to my surprise I have not received a refund for a bike I did not use!!!Be aware!DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP!!!We changed our order at the shop because it was too cold for the cargo bike, the manager of the shop at the time said he could do another just take money for something we didn’t want anymore. The second hike was cheaper and low and behold we didn’t get a refund when we got back to the shop. Complete rip off and fraudulent, we’ve now paid €69 for something we didn’t use.I would avoid this bike rental and go instead with Black bikes, much better and more customer-centric.

Not sure why this place is so highly rated. We did have an awesome day though, which is the most important part.We picked up e-bikes in the morning and there was only one staff doing all the work of registering us and then preparing the bikes. (She was very nice and helpful and apologetic throughout the ordeal)We (well, the staff) had a hard time finding an e-bike with no mechanical problems (either the wheel was twisted or a button was stuck on Maximum power). We were told an e-bike could power us for 6-8hrs but on the way back only one bike still had 20% battery (rest died prematurely) and our whole tour included only 4hrs cycling (total round trip).Same thing on the return, one staff dealing with all the customers, long wait.

We went to several Bike Rentals while we were in Amsterdam and A-Bike was by far the best, They always had the bikes we needed and were beyond helpful getting us set up and allowing us to keep the bikes as long as we wanted.

Pretty nice but the picture has better light setting. I was asked to leave my driver license as a deposit at the store when renting bike.The shop associates are very nice.

Easy rental, 1 ID was enough unlike competitors who requires credit card or passport to leave for the rental. Staff are friendly and helpful. Better price compared to other bike rentals. We were a little late in returning the bikes (we got lost 😐) but they were quite understanding and we didnt need to pay for it extra. 5 stars including bike quality.

They are a euro or two more that other bike rental shops but these are some of the nicest rental bikes Ive had in the many times Ive been to Amsterdam.

Lovely staff, great bike. Would definitely go back. I loved the fact that the bike arent aggressively marked as rentals, so you can pretty easily blend in the local crowed.

Answered the phone very quickly when we called about child seats. It only took 15 mins to line up, pay and sort out bikes. They have child seats available and can store compact push chairs while you rent the bike. The cost was €58 for 3 bikes with one child seat for 24 hours.

I rent two bikes for 3 hours and they were really nice, they explain us everything in a perfect Spanish and some times in English. Remember that you have to give them your ID Card.

Such a great, inexpensive way to get around the city. Friendly service and several bike options, including for hauling kids around. Diego helped us a couple of times and was fantastic. We ended up extending our daily rentals twice.

Excelent service. Friendly and welcoming. We took the city bike for 2 days. Worked perfect and smoothly. You can ask for a phone holder whice makes navigation in the city really easy.

Good bikes, good explanation and good price for the day. Service was however super slow on that day as there was only one guy available (was understaffed) on a busy and sunny Saturday.

Great rates. We rented 6 bikes and a tandem bike. It was so much fun and the bikes are very well kept. It is also 5 minutes cycle from the park which meant we could cycle around the park for the full hour. We had so much fun taking turns on the tandem bike.

100% recommend renting a bike from these guys! Warm and helpful customer service. Free coffee! Comfy bikes ... which is rare and when you rent for a specific amount of time if you want to go over you can just pay the extra when you return with no extra charges. Perfect!

It really makes me sad to read what I have read here... Thank God I decided to read the comments today! I was there when this happened and it is not true at all! First of all the store manager was calm and polite to the very end! He even made a discount to those italian guys! Secondly I frequently rent a bike there and it is written on the paper, while choosing the bike, and on the receipt that if you come back without the keys you are charged with a fine and the responsibility is entirely yours! Finally, one of those italian guys even threatened the store manager by pointing at him as if he had a gun in his hands! Unbelievable!!!

Easy to rent bikes, staff friendly. You will need to leave some form of ID, I left credit card as I wanted to keep my license with me.

(+) Quick service. Multiple rental options (3 hours, 6 hours, all day, etc). The bicycle I rented was in a decent condition. The brakes were a bit squeaky though.

Having not cycled for 10 years and having only ever cycled in rural Ireland, to say I was scared witless of cycling in Amsterdam is an understatement! I read the reviews on here and decided this would be the right shop for me... I was not disappointed! The staff were very kind and helpful. An American guy helped me find the right bike and showed me the ropes. Then Bert, the owner, took some time recommending rural areas to visit. Knowing my fears at cycling through the city, he suggested I practice in Vondelpark and then he would accompany me to Amsterdam Central Station, as he was travelling there. We chatted along the way and he is a wonderful guy. His business and customer satisfaction is clearly very important to him. He brought me right onto the ferry, even took me across to Noord and made sure I knew where I was going before he left. I cannot recommend this place and these people highly enough. Avoid the big companies who only care about the money and go here. I will certainly be back on my next visit. Thank you!!

Not only was Pawel super friendly but he also took such care to show us the various routes we could cycle to get a feel for Amsterdam. The best part for me was that it didnt feel like just another bike rental company but rather a place where the employees genuinely want the customers to thoroughly enjoy the experience.One of my favorite days in Amsterdam and definitely a must for all who visit.

The friendly, English-speaking folks at A-bike provided me with means for transportation, recreation and exploration during a week-long business trip to the city of bike paths. No hassle, reasonably-priced authentic dutch fiets. I even bought a cool t-shirt from them to remember my time learning to navigate the city under my own power with about a million other cyclists.

We rented bikes for a 9 day bike trip. When we picked the bikes up the staff was very friendly and helpful. After several hours on the first day, we noticed that the rear tire lock was loose and hitting the spokes. Looking at it we discovered that one screw was missing and the other one was loose so we took it off. When we returned the bikes we told the staff member that one of the screws had rattled off. We were SHOCKED when we were charged 20 euro for it. For a SCREW!! The staff member said, “Well, you didn’t buy insurance so we have to charge you.” I felt extorted! What a nasty way to end an otherwise wonderful trip around the Zuiderzee.

We recently rented bikes for 2 in Amsterdam on a 4 day trip. Chris and Brad in the shop were very helpful and really efficient. They gave great advice on the types of bikes that would be suitable given that we had a small child that we would have to bike round with for the 4 days. In addition, we also experienced a flat tyre one morning and within 10 minutes they came to our position by the roadside with a replacement bike so that we could continue to enjoy our day and they would take the broken bike away. All in all great service. Very happy with the price and the quality of the bikes. Would highly recommend them for bike rental in Amsterdam.

Great cycle shop really good location and late opening hours, perfect for the summer. Staff are very friendly and offer you good service and a range of good bikes to choose from. There is also free tea and coffee & the opportunity to buy some souvenirs.

Just shame. Rude shopmanager who with no kindness and empathy asked us 450€ because someone stole our bike. This is not ethically correct. You are not human. With the money we gave you extra you should buy all the bikes of your shop ssince the ones you have suck!! Anyway dont spend money here. Just take the bike anywhere else and u r safe.
