I waited a week for a repair appointment. This was ok, I understood as a new customer. Repair person was professional and on-time, but after he left, (and I paid a $500 bill), the refrigerator worked worse than before the repair. I called back to get a return visit and was told they could not return for another week. I spoke with a supervisor and got the same answer. As I write this, Im out $500 and have a completely non-functional refrigerator - at least it was partially working before; and I still have 6 days before they get back out.

The first call went well. Good communication/on time. Per their visit the microwave needs some parts and with their quote to repair being several hundred $ I wanted to consider new. I made the decision to proceed and called them on a SAT. Person said they cant schedule appts that day but someone would call me early next week. No call. I called them again on Thursday and told them no one called and I would like to schedule an appointment but was told parts needed to be ordered. He said he couldnt help me either as no techs were available but to call again the next day. He also said that I dont need parts and I asked why they didnt offer to fix it during the first visit then? He didnt know (I didnt think he would), So now a week has gone by without knowing if parts are needed or not and if anyone will ever come out again. Something is really strange here. Stay away!

I only use them because of my warranty through them. I made my appointment in August for an October date, and they gave me a 4-hour window through which they may arrive. When the day of the repair came I got notifications that they were still planning to come. About 30 minutes before the window was over I get a text from them saying that they had to reschedule my appointment for December 21! Then the next morning I got a text from them at 8:00 saying that they were on their way to come do the maintenance on my washer/dryer. I slept through the text, but luckily I heard the doorbell ring and got to the door in time to let the repairman in. I am glad that they came as soon as they could, but that is still some poor customer service.

Sears utilizes an unfair pricing scheme for different types of repairs. Other companies do this type of bait and switch inflated pricing and I contacted Sears as thought they would charge me a fair hourly rate once the technician diagnosed the issue. I am fine with the trip/diagnostic fee but what I am warning everyone is use another company. Even though the technician that completed the repair did a great job and was very efficient, Sears pricing is too high especially when the repair took about 30 minutes total.

Our ice maker quit working 8 weeks ago and we called for an appointment which was a 7 day wait. That person told us our switchboard was broken and needed a new one. We were quoted about $600. He ordered it and then a week later a different technician came out. He said it wasn’t the switchboard but another part that would be $800. He left and a third technician came out and said it wasn’t either of those parts and installed the switchboard just to show it wouldn’t fix the problem. He advises he needed a new fan cover and we waited abort her 10 days for a technician to install that. We were supposed to have ice in 24 hours, we didn’t. We called for another appointment but it was another 10 day wait. In this time our freezer quit working. We made our appointment and they cancelled without a call or reason an hour before arrival. This is AFTER we waited the 10 days. Frustrated and out of time with a freezer failing, we called a different appliance company who came out and diagnosed the compressor being dead in 10 minutes and told us we had 24 hours before it died. We discovered the compressor is covered under warranty but you HAVE to use Sears. So 12 days we waited again to have them come install the compressor. They installed it and it worked for 24 hours. It’s dead again. We have to wait another 10 days without a fridge before anyone will come out and help us. We’ve spent $1400 and have lived without a fridge for a family of 5 for 8 weeks. Our toddlers drink milk nonstop. When we tried to get an appointment sooner they said there was nothing they could do and no one they could talk too. We asked for the same technician since that’s been 1/2 the problem and they couldn’t do that. This is a living nightmare and the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. No one is responsive. We’ve only had 1 technician who has had any idea of what is going on. We are being held hostage by this company and it’s a living nightmare. I’d never own a Kenmore again and just want this to be over.

I’m blown away at the lack of professionalism of this company. I’m a pretty reasonable person and I understand that there maybe a delay in service, but no one should have to call 7 times (yes I said 7 times) to speak to a manager and never be transferred.I called last week to schedule an appointment for my oven and explained that I had a blow fuse. I had another repair company come out and diagnose the problem prior to calling Sears (the only reason I didn’t go with them is because they couldn’t do the work before Christmas like Sears had promised). The tech showed up on time with a cell phone and a screwdriver. Proceeds to look at my microwave...NOT the oven. A whole 5 mins later he comes to me and saids “you have a blown fuse”....WOW! $109 for 5 mins spent looking at the wrong appliance, 1 min turning on the oven and opening it to see if it’s heating to tell me what I told the appointment rep prior to your arrival and you at the door of my home upon arrival. So I ask “how long will this take and how much”? He says he can’t fix it because he didn’t have the part and that he couldn’t come back until mid January. So wait....you come unprepared, wast my entire day, and then expect me to reschedule with your company in January?!6pm - 2 hours later I receive a call from Jennie “the manager”. She tells me that I have to remove my oven from the wall because they don’t remove wall/cabinet ovens (I was NEVER told this by the appointment rep or the tech who wanted to rescheduled me). But then she says that she sees notes from the tech stating that he didn’t do the job because a dolly was needed to complete the job, and that if I opted to go with them the tech would need to bring a dolly. She goes on to say that an exception was being made for me but that their policy is I have to make the appliance “accessible”...which means I have to remove my oven from the cabinet, but still pay them over $300 for a $10 part (I called Lowe’s and they are overnighting the piece to me and comping shipping because of the headache with Sears). So I asked will they be making an exception and removing the oven because you don’t need a dolly if you don’t plan on removing the oven...right? She tells me I wouldn’t know until the day of my appointment...oh and if the tech shows up without a dolly I would have to reschedule....Seriously?! I then asked for her supervisor...she tells me that she doesn’t have one and that there is no corporate number...she answers/gets her paycheck from to HR...I can’t make this up. If I didn’t need my oven for Christmas I would laugh. Did they pay for, have friends, family, or employees write those 5 star reviews because there is no way I’m the only lucky person that has experienced this horrible service. Just go somewhere else....anyplace had to be better than this.

2 months. Our fridge has been broken for 2 months. First tech (2 weeks in) came and replaced the condensor, but the problem persisted. A second tech came (1 month and 1 week later.. earliest available), and said the first tech made it worse and we needed new parts ordered. He ordered the parts (taking 3 weeks to ship), and left the fridge totally disassembled (picutre). This company is so poorly operated, its a joke.

First of all, it took 2 weeks to get someone to look at our completely non working refrigerator!! We the man finally came her was super nice and seemed very knowledgeable and efficient. He replaced the compressor and stayed to make sure it was cooling. The next morning the fridge and freezer are 75 degrees again! Call Sears, since I just spent $500 yesterday surely they can get someone to help us?! Nope!!!! I have called multiple times, I have posted in their FB and Twitter. I have messaged them. They refuse to send someone to my house until the weekend!! My new Kenmore “Elite” fridge is a POS and the service provided to up their products is unacceptable!! After 20 years of being a loyal Sears customer for appliances we are done with them forever! Oh, and the people you have to call to get an appointment have zero information and could not care less if you just lost $500 worth of food or need to feed your family at home because we are quarantined!! No one at Sears home repair cares one bit about taking care of the customers!!

Do yourself a favor and dont use them. First of all, the earliest appointment we were able to get for refrigerator repair was two weeks out. On the day of, we had an 8-12 schedule time. By 11:30 we still hadnt heard anything, so we called them. It was difficult navigating the automated phone system, but we eventually got a person. Unfortunately, she was not very friendly or helpful. She informed us we had an appointment scheduled between 8-12. Thanks...I was aware. After clearing up some confusion on their end about our phone number, she told me the technician was running late and would be here closer to 1:00. Ok, fine. The final nail in the coffin came at 12:10 when we got a text notifying us that the appointment had been cancelled. Thats right, after sitting around all morning with other things to do, they just CANCELLED our appointment on us!

The technician arrived after missing two prior scheduled appointments. He looked (not touched) at my dishwasher and declared a necessary repair at $450 (on a $600 appliance). He never opened up the door. Then he instantly offered my half off if I purchased the “service program”. I escorted him out. Next day i had a “real” repair expert who took my doir apart, ran the dishwasher and accurately diagnosed the issue. For half the price. Unrelated to the Sears fraudster. And now they want me to pay for the fake repairman visit. Like hell i will! Fraudster repair warranty hucksters.

This has to be the WORST repair service that I have ever had. They have been to my home three times and have yet to fix my < 3 year old refrigerator or offer me any explanation. Each time, there is an approximate 1-2 week wait for an appointment. Each appointment has a 4 HOUR window to which they are continually late to WITHOUT a phone call to let me know that they are running late! How does this happen 3 times? Each call to Sears Home Services results in them saying that there is nothing else that they can do. Then, they offer me points to use to purchase more items from them. Unless they offer me enough points to buy a new refrigerator, that is not helping my situation. It has been almost 6 weeks now that I have not had a functioning refrigerator. I cannot continue to run my household like this. They are not compassionate at all. When I said that I am so frustrated and should consider going to the local news, the customer service representative told me “to do whatever I have to do“.I am not a person who usually posts reviews unless I am giving someone praise. However, I feel that Sears is not standing up to their name and to their promise to warranty my fridge. I plan to write the President and see what he/she has to say about this service. I feel that I am an understanding person as my job entails appointments and customer service as well. However, leaving a mother without a refrigerator for 6 weeks and continuing to order parts and reschedule appointments (to which they can‘t even bother to come to on time) is just absurd. I’m growing frustrated, but more so, my trust and confidence in a company, who has been a household name in my family for decades, is now broken. This should be a concern for them. Sears is better than this!

Dealing with their phone center was Ridiculous! The part I needed didn’t get here before the appointment to install it. That in itself is a problem. When I followed the directions and notified them the night before they canceled the appointment and Didn’t have any opening for 3 weeks!. I ask for a supervisor and was told she couldn’t do anything different. I insisted and after be on hold for 10 mins one got on and was just as useless. I then asked to speak with someone in the United States. I was told they don’t do that. Then hung up on me! I called 3 more times and every time I asked for a rep. In the US I was told they don’t do that. I believe it’s the law. If I ask they have to connect me with one. I was never able to speak with someone in the US. Hay sears I guess you aren’t a USA company anymore. I will not buy or support Sears ever again. As for the repair the second person how actually did the repair was great. The first guy who did then diagnostic Check didn’t even order the second part I needed. So the gentleman that was here called and drove all over till he found one and came back to install it. He did a nice job.

Good service bad model. The two people who came out could not have been nicer or more professional. The guy who installed the part was supper nice and friendly. The business model is horrible. I called in, told the Sears representative exactly what was wrong. They charged $99.00 for someone to come out. I thought this would be rolled into fixing the issue once the person came out. I was wrong. The first technician said yep, its broken and had to order the part I said was broken already. (I had to stay out of work so he could come by and confirm what I already knew). I paid the $99.00. Then 10 days later, I stay out of work again, and someone with the part comes by to install it. It takes him 2 minutes and Im charged his service fee and the price of the part. A two minute project and a door flap that I can assume is under $20 to make cost me around $300. Again, I can not say enough good things about their employees. But $99.00 to come out and not even have the tools or parts to fix the defined issue and then waiting 10 days and paying another person to fix the issue does not make for a good overall cost effective experience.

The actual service performed was good. The technician was polite, professional, and did a good job. The first appointment they were actually early for the appointment window. The second, my window was 8AM-12PM and they showed up at 11:58AM. The reason I am rating them 1 star is because regardless if you deliver on the service but fail on the payment it is an overall fail. I have the original receipt showing the prepayment and the 20% discount I received. When the technician came out, the 20% discount was missing and I was assessed the full price. I called and spoke with a supervisor and they said there is nothing they can do at this point. Complete BS as they can simply credit the overpayment to me. Rather than argue with the knucklehead supervisor named Dion, I will call American Express and let them settle it.

The repair itself was done well, but getting to repair day was horrible. Maybe it was because this was done as part of a service contract? This was for repair of a gas grill which needed a new firebox and internal pieces. The quoted amount of what we would have paid for parts alone if it wasnt under contract was more than double what we paid for the grill new. The process took well over a month start to finish. I had to arrange to work from home 3 times and ended up missing a class that I was obligated to pay for anyway on a day they didnt show up. First appointment available was 10 days out for technician who comes out and decides what needs to be replaced. Parts all have to be ordered. Next appoint set for 3 weeks out so they can be sure all of the parts arrived. (They actually arrived in less than a week.) All appointment times are for 8 AM - 5 PM which isnt good for working folks. They dont even narrow it down in the robo call the day before. The day came and the website gave me a 2 hour window of time, but it kept changing. In the end no one called and no one showed up. Suddenly the web site has a new date for 10 days later! No Way! Had to call and raise a ruckus to get them to come 2 days later. But again I had to accommodate an 8-5 arrival window.

The tech came in and quickly checked a filter and claimed that was the fix. The washer did not even complete one load of laundry before shutting down and flashing an error code. We called back with in a few hours of the tech leaving and were told they could not schedule a return visit until tomorrow after the tech closed out his visit? That is just not acceptable. Your business SOPs should focus on the customer and add value for the customer. The first load after the repair is still in the washing machine 4 days later as they were not able to schedule an appointment for another week. Our ice maker quit working before Thanksgiving 2015. We waited through wrong parts, and three cancelled appointments and our ice maker was finally repaired on January 26, 2016. The technicians were courteous and competent. I am 66 years old and I have never witnessed service this poor. They say they will be there on the 16th between 8am-5pm and they dont call or show up. This happened 3 times. I will never purchase anything from Sears for the rest of my life, and I will be telling this story to family, friends, and neighbors for the rest of my life. This is a perfect example of why Sears is prospering so much with their business...

$300 later the repairs didnt work and the second technician they sent said the first technician should have told me to replace the whole appliance from the start. Thanks a lot for using me as a cash grab.

Have had continuous problems with ice maker in my refrigerator. It has supposedly been repaired 2x in the past 2 months and still not working yet Sears refuses to replace my refrigerator. Will never do business with Sears again and will spread the word to family and friends not to do so either.

This has been the most frustrating experience with Sears service in my entire life. So frustrated that I went out and bought another brand ice maker. No more Kenmore products or protection agreements from Sears in this house. Terrible, terrible service. No one up the chain of commend takes responsibility for fixing the problem for a long time loyal customer. No more wasting my time and money with Sears.

I bought a washing machine 8 years ago. I have also bought the warranty protection every year. Every other year the washing machine breaks and they came out to fix it. Around 6 weeks ago my washing machine broke again and they had to order parts to fix it. The repairman told me that the machine needs to be replaced because it would cost more to fix the machine then to get a new one. When I called Sears they told me that the repairman said the complete opposite. Sears has continued to lie to me every step of the way. After 6 weeks I am still waiting on the part to come in and get fixed. I went from buying all of my appliances at Sears to not buying any and telling everyone I know to NEVER buy from Sears again because they dont honor their warrantee. STAY AWAY FROM SEARS!!!

4 MONTHS AND ONGOING WITHOUT A FRIDGE!!! 10/5/2018Rating Sears Warranty as a service only, the tech was Awesome as Always!!!We purchased a Sears Master Protection Agreement when we got our Kenmore Pro 31 cu.ft fridge in 2012, it was beautiful. It worked not flawlessly but close to it for 6 years, had some issues with ice forming in the freezer, they came out repaired it Excellent!!.Renewed my MPA in March or April of 2018, came back from Disney in June and we had a dead fridge. Called them at them took two weeks to get someone out but when they came they said it was the compressor and he would order parts, Standard Procedure. 4 WEEKS LATER, NO TECH NO PARTS but we got an email stating someone would be out.Called and chatted customer service at Sears Warranty, they said that we should call the tech to see what the holdup was......We call your tech to ask him the holdup on a scheduled service???? Needless to say that it was another two weeks before the call was cancelled and another one scheduled in its place.8 Weeks from the initial call a tech shows up, nice chatty guy said that it was the compressor and that he needed to order parts, ordered the compressor, the board and a tap for the line. He said I will be out to install it in two weeks, that was fine as we had to wait a week on parts and then i was gonna be out of town. The parts arrived as they should. Again we got another email stating that someone would be out to install the parts. NO ONE SHOWED!!!!!!12 WEEKS WITHOUT A FRIDGE!!!!!!!A tech shows up installs the parts and R-134A, My wife says that the tech said it was good. He told her it needed 24-48 hrs to get really cold, I got home, felt it and it was that tepid temperature that holds all the smells, I obliged the 24-48 hrs anyway and called as fridge was warm. They told me to unplug it allow the 24 - 48 hrs again. I asked for a tech.Same guy comes out a week later, Redoes everything he just did. I figured it just lost R-134A so did he he had a sniffer and it went off, a leak. He filled it and was out in 2 hours. It worked for about two days.Dead fridge again, same issue.15 WEEKS, STILL NO FRIDGE!!!!!!!I set up another appointment. Same guy this time it took 3 days to get him out and he was baffled too. He was gonna order a new fridge!! Then he said something about initializing the compressor or the board. He was there for about an hour and it was cold. After two days we went shopping filled it with food about a week and a half later. It was melting the ice and getting warm. Called Sears and asked for a replacement...............One lady told me that it was up to the service tech, I have an MPA and there is a no lemon clause, even still she said it was up to the tech. Called back immediately after hanging up with that lady, Hit 3 to ask about the MPA and why it was so great and then told them my story.I had to wait for the tech to come out a fourth time to repair this as there were only 3 confirmed repairs. The Tech, SAME GUY!!!! ordered parts and then we waited for approval!!!19 WEEKS NO FRIDGE!!!!!!Parts came but they were not supposed to be installed, they honestly should have never showed up.We had to wait a week for the approval to go through. We looked around and could not find what we wanted. We asked them to place the order for a fridge in Idaho and ship it to Atlanta!A guy came out at week 20 to install the parts on the fridge being replaced, I told him to not bother with it but he can have the parts, he left them on my porch as he was instructed by a voice on the phone. They sat there for 4 days!!!!!21 Weeks No Fridge!!!!!Two weeks went by and we still have not heard anything about the item being shipped!!!!!!!We got a cheap craigslist fridge for 200$ and it is running like a champ in Our extremely hot garage in North Atlanta!!!!To be continued!!!!!!!!Continued 10/8/201822 WEEKS NO FRIDGE!!!!!!!!!Called sears warranty services to check on the replacement, found that the fridge we wanted in Idaho is gone..........

UPDATE 3/1/2018 - We visited the Sears Store 2x to speak to the manager who was sending internal emails about our issue. We received a call on 1/12. Stated that there was nothing they could do for us because the closed-system warranty was not valid after 5 years - no solution to the issues of a refrigerator being delivered that had been serviced, but purchased as Brand New. That the issue with the blown intake line was probably done when they replaced the compressor that was under warranty. I WILL NEVER SHOP FOR A SEARS APPLIANCE AGAIN. THIS IS WHY THEY ARE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. THEY DO NOT PROVIDE A SOLUTION FOR AN ISSUE THAT IS TRULY THEIR RESPONSIBILITY. They did not argue the dispute on the CC.UPDATE 12/26 - Received call from Survey Response very nice person apologetic for our issues, would reach back to me no later than 12/22 - would do every thing they could to assist in resolving this matter -no return call on 12/22, albeit Christmas holiday weekend, no return email from Customer Care as of 12/26. UPDATE 12/19 - Sears Tech arrived, re-tested the refrigerator and now it has an internal system leak NON-REPAIRABLE. NOTHING YOU CAN DO EXCEPT BUY A NEW ONE. I purchased on 12/12 the Appliance Warranty package as recommended by the Technician because it would give us a 50% discount on the repairs that he just made and would cover repairs on any appliance we owned including the refrigerator. Received Home Warranty information on evening of 12/19 - Not EFFECTIVE Until 1/12/18. REFRIGERATOR repair or replacement is not covered. Not acceptable - this was originally diagnosed as a compressor repair - after testing and now after installation it is an internal system leak. Send email to Sears Customer Care outlining issues again, on 12/20. Complete Customer Satisfaction Survey on 12/20 that was emailed to me. UPDATE 12/18 - Sears tech showed up on 12/12 installed the compressor - to wait 48 hours for it to cool - it never cooled - contacted Sears again - only appt available is on 12/19 -so we are now 6 weeks since contacting SEARS for repairs and the technician also tells me this might not work but it may need more repairs - I ORDERED and PAID for a new Kenmore Elite Refrigerator on 12/29/11 -they obviously sent me a refurbished refrigerator that had been serviced either at the factory or at the Cumming GA Storefront. As a consumer how would you know that a NEW refrigerator had been serviced? Why would SEARS not deliver A NEW refrigerator - little bait and switch. We also visited the Store on 12/15/17 to see if the Manager could assist in this issue and guess what they told us- We will have customer service contact you- NOT no phone calls, no emails. Sears dispatchers are horrible, Social Care Team is not effective because they cant do anything No one will give connect you to a decision maker to assist - I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED with this whole experience. So sad that an issue has not been addressed - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE no wonder they are going out of business. - UPDATE increasing to 2 stars because the Tech who came out was great - very good at explaining issue. Albeit they have no parts and have to order them which is an additional 10 day for delivery and 2nd visit to repair.Customer Support - 10 additional days to get part and schedule install - still no working refrigerator - Call back to Customer Service still no solution to repair or replace - because the Tech has to come back on the 2nd visit and determine if it can be fixed then determine if there will be a replacement. So by the time this is all said and done estimate 25-30 days with no working refrigerator. Horrible supply chain management service -Customer Support Telephone Center follows script no empowerment to help expedite. 10 days before next available appointment for a refrigerator repair that’s not cooling. Guess they want you to just go buy a new one for $3000.00. Very disappointed refrigerator is 6 years old on 12/31. SEARS used to be so much better with this service.

My frigerator has been non-functional for over 2 months. @Sears has sent 4 different repairmen out and they have replaced everything from the motherboard, the fans the drier etc.... The first repair replaced a leaky dryer which allowed the refrigerant to seep out. This fourth repair is to repair that first repair! So sears has replaced 4 parts in two months, had to repair their own repair but they will not give me another frig because they SAY if they repair/replace the same part over and over it doesnt count as a repair.Having said all that - the repairmen were all very nice and very careful but given all sears has spent in time parts and people they could have replaced my frog for less than they have spent in parts and labor. My recommendation is to NEVER buy a kenmore- its an expensive piece of crap. And Never Never Ever got the sears protection policy. It also is worthless. The rules change, everyone says something different and they do NOT honor the policy terms. No wonder @sears is going out of business!!! #sears #searssucks

If I could give them zero stars, I would.I was a warranty customer (operative word = WAS), but had to request a refund when they could not arrive for 2 separate appointment in the scheduled 4 HOUR window.First time, repair tech called me at 4:45 to say he was 45 minutes away AFTER he went to another scheduled visit first.WHAT??? Are you kidding me?Second time, tech said he was 45-60 minutes away (at 4:15) and when I expressed concern that he would be here at the end of the window - or later - and that I wasnt sure I wanted him messing with my dryer longer into the evening, he assured me that it would be fine because, we try to shut down everything by 5:30.Oh great - so at least I know you wont be in my house all night, even though you wont be able to fix my dryer.Incredibly poor dispatch/scheduling/mgmt of their work force.I will NEVER use them again - my next step before calling them again would actually be ordering the part myself and watching some YouTube videos.
