About one year ago, we switched our home and auto insurance to American Family Insurance. Scott and his team have been excellent to work with. We havent had to make any claims - but Scott is always quick to respond to questions on coverage and other inquiries weve had. I appreciate the professionalism of the staff and their customer service.

Horrible communication. We should have had multi car and house discounts and somehow the combine discount got dropped and they wont refund our money for their mistake. It took them five days to get a quote for us and every time they call back to follow up and they just spoken to me active like I was a complete stranger and started all over again. Theyre right here in our hometown, theyre not in New York calling me in Arvada. Terrible customer service, terrible knowledge, terrible follow up. Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else but here. This guy took over after The previous agent died from a heart attack. Sure miss the previous agent. We NEVER ever had any problems with him

Roof had hail damage, had numerous contractors which said insurance will cover damage. All my neighbors received new roofs from their insurance from the huge hail storm last year but us. I personally asked the contractors which insurance companies are being a pain and they said American Family has really tightened things up. So if you dont want a huge hassle with claims, stay away from AFI. $8k out of our pocket for new roof. Do your homework.

I was a customer for years, then they cancelled my account without notice. No calls, no emails, just no more coverage. They also cost me several days work by not handling paperwork in a timely manner. Im not talking hours, Im talking days. I cant say Am Fam Corporate is any better. Multiple call back requests with NO returns. Go anywhere else for your insurance needs.
