Replaced bedroom windows with door for access to deck/hot tub. Far North came into my life when another contractor was unable to finish a job already started (Covid-related). The estimate was timely, spot on when work was finished, and all work was done professionally in a timely manner. Most impressive was the cleanup--cleaner than when they arrived. The work consisted of replacing a large window with a 2-door installation for easy access from a bedroom to a deck and hot tub. My only regret? That I didnt look at their website first and select doors from them instead of the one I chose. I do LOVE my existing door, the work, the friendliness, cleanliness and timeliness. We are considering remodeling parts of the kitchen and will definitely return to Far North Craftsmanship for that work. Highly recommend them.

We needed a bathroom built from scratch in our unfinished basement. We went with Far North because of their reputation for high quality work. Gene the owner was responsive and quick to get things going. Matt, their lead carpenter was extremely professional and knowledgeable when it came to managing the project. From the very first meeting with Gene, we have been completely at ease with him and his crew, and with all of the additional folks they brought in to make it happen.Background on us – after living in our home just shy of 40 years, and having never done this magnitude of renovation, we needed a contractor who would walk us through the process… someone who would give us honest and meaningful advice and guidance. Our Financial Advisor recommended Far North Craftsmanship, as he had remodeled his kitchen through them, and provided a GLOWING review! (He actually said he had recommended Far North Craftsmanship to many of his clients – and everyone reported wonderful things – now he can add us to that list!)Gene was the first craftsman we met with… thankfully he listened carefully to what we were hoping to accomplish, and provided excellent feedback to help us fine-tune our plan. We asked for his recommendation for a designer, and began to make it real. Our designer, Carolyn, was extremely patient with us, offering great suggestions and tips to get us to our final design. It was awesome to have a true TEAM for the planning and development… we were very comfortable and confident throughout the process.The actual construction was so much less stressful than we were expecting – lots of stories from friends’ projects had left an impression. Now, we just tell our friends that they had the wrong builder! The activity was completely contained within the kitchen/dining room area – sealed off from the rest of the house. We were always informed of who to expect when – and we cannot say strongly enough how much we appreciated how respectful and helpful and friendly all the workers were. We had anticipated about 6 weeks from start to finish, before adding on the removal and installation of new flooring throughout the entire upstairs – even with the interference of COVID19, they had us ready to move back in at 7 weeks… very impressive!!And now, our kitchen is gorgeous! The open concept is so much better for family and friends, not to mention all the wonderful space to get creative with our cooking. Far North Craftmanship has created a beautiful deck, remodeled and installed our gas fireplace, and added cabinetry panels for our built in refrigerator. Each job had excellent results, and was performed professionally. We highly recommend this business!

They carried out our full kitchen remodel and also installed new tile in the kitchen, dining, entryway, and bathrooms as well as the fireplace surround and kitchen backsplash. Additionally, they gave us new baseboard trim and did additional carpentry projects in our living area. They gave close attention to every detail and made sure everything was exactly right. We appreciated that the whole crew communicated clearly with us and asked for our thoughts and ideas throughout the project. We also really appreciated the air scrubber system used to keep the air and house clean during construction. Upon completion, they even provided a full cleaning service so everything was sparkling. Far North Craftmanship replaced the windows in our Big Lake cottage and did an absolutely fabulous job beginning with quoting the type of windows we needed through to fully installing new windows, interior and exterior trim, and leaving the home in perfectly clean condition at the end.Gene has an exceptional team of people working together to delight the customer. Tiffany is arguably the best and most accurate scheduler I’ve ever worked with and the installers are complete professionals in their field! They trimmed our home after a remodel and a year later I had them come back and build a large deck with a covered end, plus some small projects. All the work they have done has been outstanding! We had Gene and his team do some extensive renovations on our older home. They did everything they could to find the least invasive way to fix the issues, but wound up having to remove and replace an entire exterior wall and a good portion of the roof. Every member of the team was polite, hard working, and took the time to ensure our house was as neat and clean as possible when they left each day. They gladly sent me updated pictures and info during the work, and even stayed until 9pm one Friday night to ensure they kept on track. The biggest win in my book was being treated like a partner in all that was going on. They explained everything, asked my opinion, talked me through each step, and never once made me feel like someone with less expertise than them. Gene and his crew do excellent work. We had them complete a full renovation of a darling cabin out in Chugiak that they put together top to bottom (electrical, plumbing, some framing, drywall, installed all new doors, kitchen cabinets, etc.). They are careful with their work and communication was great. I am very particular about all details and Gene made sure to keep me involved at every stage. I am also appreciative that while I was pushing to save costs at times, he would push back and talk me through why this or that decision mattered for the overall longevity/usability of the cabin.
