Dr Swingdorf and his staff were great! I am visiting from out of town and had a dental emergency. They were able to get me in right away and fix. I would consider flying to SD just to come back bc they were so good.

Staff was rude. Everyone had a very egotistical attitude and was clear that money was the motivation rather than service or love for the profession. Crazy expensive and dont stand by their product.I went in with a busted front tooth. They set me up with a composite (cheaper) crown, which cracked very shortly (weeks) thereafter. I was rudely informed that we only do one free fix on our work, so when the composite broke again, I knew I wouldnt be returning.It happened, and I went to a nearby competitor. The competition was helpful, friendly, and all around a team who care for their clients rather than solely their wallets. They removed the poorly done composite crown for a porcelain veneer (more expensive and better quality), and the total bill (not just out of pocket) was a fraction of what Sensational Smiles billed. Like less than half.So, if youre seeking rude people who want a quick dash and grab at your wallet without standing behind their work, then Sensational Smiles is the place for you! If youd rather have a positive experience and not get gouged, try driving east a mile.

I had the unfortunate experience of being turned down treatment because I as a client did not fit their mission statement. As a travel nurse I was in California and had to have an emergency root canal and called from California as soon as I got the temp crown and gave them the tooth number. I explained that I unfortunately only had a week to get a permanent crown placed and had read that this office had the technology available to do so. I called back Monday morning to follow-up to see if Dr. Anderson was able to complete the task and was informed that I would get a return call back. Later in the day closer to 4pm when I had not received a call back I called again to see if this office could help. Whomever answered the phone transferred me to Kayla who was very pleasant and helpful; she said, I dont see why we cant do this, Dr. Anderson is busy with another patient can you be here at 8:30am Wednesday morning? I responded yes. Prior to this, yes, I was frustrated because I am still having pain, and only have a limited time (which is not their fault) if they couldnt fit me in though, I would have moved my contract or called another dentist.This morning I get a call stating, unfortunately we just dont have the time and our office isnt able to do the crown. I said, there seems to be something more and youre not telling me the full story....well, yes, I was gone yesterday and conversations were had and you just dont fit in our mission statement; and I didnt have to tell you that either.So, this office is ok lying to people! Yes, I was frustrated and trying to figure out how to make this all work. It isnt easy on my end or theirs....but to call and lie to me and say that we dont have time and then when I call you out... well actually.... not professional and unethical.

I am so grateful to the team at Sensational Smiles!! For years Ive wanted to fix the fluorosis discoloration on my teeth and Dr. Anderson did such an incredible job. I can smile confidently now, for the first time since childhood!Everything about my experience here was better than I could have imagined. The friendly staff went out of their way to accommodate me. DJ, Christie, Claire, Dr. Anderson: you guys are wonderful! Dr. Anderson was not only willing, but excited to help me with any goals I had for improving my smile, and he took extra time to make sure I got the best results possible. He initially consulted with me via email + phone, which was super helpful and saved me from making multiple out-of-state trips to see them. He also obtained a brand new type of treatment for fixing my discoloration, which ended up being more cost-effective and less invasive than the treatment we had originally planned. Amazing. I only wish I lived closer so that my family and I could visit regularly!

Dr. Swingdorf and his team are fantastic! Ill start by saying I have extreme anxiety about Dental work and as a result I have a mulitiude of procedures I need to go through. They have taken extra time and care to help me understand each step and have helped coordinate my whole process even through offices that arent their own. They have gone out of their way to make sure that I am relaxed and comfortable with each step. The treatments have been painless and felt like they took extra time with me when I needed it. Even the front desk staff are fun and cordial and have made me feel important. I will be a lifelong patient. Always friendly and caring! Thank you guys for all that you do! 🙂

Changed dentists to this one after my dentist left practice abruptly and no one could tell me why or where. Dr. Swingdorf is AMAZING and I can see the same hygienist every visit which is something I wasnt getting at other office and something I feel is important to consistent oral care. Highly recommend!!

Always a good experience. I see Dr. Swingdorf. Hes kind, humble, and interested in both his work and his patients. Hes scrupulous, knowledgeable, upfront, honest, and trustworthy. He doesnt rush your encounter, and he explains options and everything well. I get the impression he cares about whats best for the patient rather than what will empty their wallet. His hygienists are great too--gentle, caring, personable, and skilled. Ive seen Haley my last couple of visits, and shes awesome! She is highly skilled, patient, gentle, and caring. Plus, shes a great conversationalist, and I always enjoy hearing her stories! I couldnt recommend them more.

When visiting from out of town, I needed to be seen for an achy tooth. I was referred by a relative and they were able to get me in. Staff was so great, I wish I could keep coming back!

The front office staff were prompt and friendly. I saw Kelly, Carisa and Doctor Anderson during my first two visits and each time they were all very informative on my pending procedures, and took every opportunity to assure my comfort. I would definitely recommend Sensational Smiles!

I had been longtime patient of Dr. Mark Berdahl when I moved out of state. Finding a replacement dentist and practice who provided comparable care was not possible. Upon moving back to the Midwest, it was a no-brainer that I would return to his practice. He and all of his staff at Sensational Smiles consistently exceed my expectations! They treat me with respect and listen seriously to my input. But at the same time are such fun!Sincerely you are my team forever and provided the smile that I was born to have!

I havent seen Dr. Berdahl for 10 years, but my experiences with him changed my life. Due to a syndrome in my family, my teeth were weaker and smaller than normal. I saw Dr. Berdahl for years as a teenager to steadily correct the issues I faced. After getting braces to line everything up correctly, he crowned each of my teeth to both protect them and correct my bite. The procedure not only corrected the dental issue, but resolved my migraines and gave me a new sense of confidence. I no longer felt embarrassed to smile with my mouth open.I left the state after college, and have received compliments and appreciation for the work from every dentist I have seen since then. Each one has inquired who did the work, and told me its the best they have seen.Now 10 years later, I have a amazing wife and son, and a wonderful career. Ill take the majority of the credit for those things, haha, but I know that I wouldnt have had the confidence to put myself out there without the work of Dr. Berdahl and his team.Thank you

I have never felt so comfortable at the dentist before. The staff is super nice and helpful and are willing to walk you through the necessary steps for healthy teeth. I used to HATE going to the dentist, but i switch over here and love it! They make you super comfortable, and are so nice and friendly! Thank you all for the amazing experiences! I love coming here. My hygienist, Laura, had an outstanding personality and I had several laughs shared with her. She was conscientous about navigating through my teeth making sure I was comfortable. She was thorough yet efficient. Dr. Swingdorff was also personable and wonderful as my dentist. I work in patient care myself and its incredible to have such great care reciprocated. Love you all!

Theyre always friendly and welcoming. They consistently do a wonderful job, regardless of which staff member I see. Ive been going there since I was 6 and I now take my son there too. He was 3 yrs old at his first appointment and had such a positive experience that he asks to go back and loves his check ups!

Recently moved back from MN and had to find a new Sioux Falls dentist- started off with a different one that had high online reviews and although they were nice people it turned into an awful experience (later learned many of the reviews were written by their employees).... My sister recommended I try Sensational Smiles and Im so glad I did. Theyve made me feel so comfortable and always make it a point to explain what they are doing and why. They were very kind, my teeth feel so much cleaner. They have great services for children. They have a cavity free club and it makes the children feel good about their teeth.

Its been a couple of years since I have been to Sensational Smiles. I still cant get over the chair side manner the hygenists had. Very rude and stuck up comments. I hope things have changed.

I’ve been going here for a little over 2 years now, and every time I have a great experience. Their hygienests are very understanding, thourogh, and knowledgeable about all things dental health related. I’ve primarily seen Dr. Swingdorf, he’s is very natural at being professional while keeping me comfortable no matter what my visit is for. Tara has been a great assistant for any procedure I’ve had, I love that she takes the time to listen to my concerns and explains what’s going to happen. They really do a great job all around!!

They’re not open all day on Friday, they close at noon. I’ve been going to them for years but ready to go somewhere else. They will not work on rescheduling your appointment and you might get bumped 2-3 months out. Also they cannot get costs of procedures exact and will overcharge you and your insurance then hang on to the extra money if there’s any left until the end of the year and then issue you a check.Sorry you guys are really starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

VERY high-tech equipment and nice facilities. They are, however the most expensive dentists in the Sioux Falls area. There was also discrepancies between quoted price and what they actually billed me.I am also disappointed in their high pressure sales techniques when peddling additional, cosmetic services. They constantly badgered me to purchase additional services, until I decided to take my business elsewhere.

Like many people, my experiences with dentists werent always very good (think root canal, fillings, etc) and as an adult I had avoided even basic cleanings for years out of fear. I was recommended to Sensational Smiles and finally went after much convincing from my healthcare team.Everyone at Sensational Smiles was great. They took a very frightened, snarky, outspoken man who was hypersensitive about everything and walked me through it each step of the way. They had the patience of Job. There were no surprises and they accommodated me far beyond what was necessary to get my cleanings (and another root canal and a crown) done.Im getting better about taking care of my teeth and I dont dread my appointments with Sensational Smiles like I used to dread dentists in general. Theyll be my preferred oral healthcare people for life!

Dr. Berdahl and his staff are the best there is in dentistry, Ive never had a bad experience here, I have in other places. I hate dentists but when Im here its like being with old friends and ive never seen the staff here not smiling there very positive and uplifting . I also love the fact they provide your type of music to listen to while there doing work on your teeth . I personally like the Christian collection. my son has followed in my steps with another Doctor at sensational smiles and he too is very happy. Thanks to the Drs and Staff at Sensational Smiles for the wonderful work you do.
