Walked in off the street with my Speed and Strength ARMORED motorcycle jacket and asked Lennie to SEW on the Velcro loop material that was (glue backed) coming off of my sleeves... got a VERY reasonable price and he even did it while I waited. The glue backing turned out to double the time he had to put into the job. BUT he was a man of his word and stuck to his original price for the alterations... I could NOT be happier than I am... Great place to get your clothes tailored. Be aware its cash only. I think because it is a small business and trying to avoid the fees from credit card companies. The shop is own by a very friendly Asian American couple. They are good at what they do and time of completion has been reasonable in my opinion.

Lennie is awesome and works super quick and extremely affordable. I needed a less than 24 hour turn around on some pants hemming, and Lennie came through. He also did the custom alterations got my wedding tux. Lennie is also really personable and I wouldnt trust anyone else to do my alterations.

Second time going to Lennies for an alteration. The first time was a gown used for conducting, needed to be adjusted on the sides. It cost around $120 for everything, which I though was expensive, but the location was convenient and the turn-over time was good. This second time, I took a mariachi jacket in to get taken in on the back, less than an inch each side. I also showed them that I needed a replacement button on my mariachi skirt. I left my items with them and they quoted me a price of $29 for everything, which was written on my pickup tag.I called a day before my scheduled pick up to see if I could pick my items up early, and they said everything was ready. When I got to the store, I was charged $35 instead of $29. I showed them where I had been quoted $29, they agreed to go with what was written, but gave me a long explanation of what they had to go through to do the alteration, which quite frankly, I sew, I knew what needed to be done. But, with a busy schedule, I needed someone else to take care of this for me.All in all, what they quoted me is what they quoted me. If they had to go through extra work to make it happen without my consent, that is not my issue. Also, upon returning home, the jacket was done well, but they forgot to do the button on the skirt. Pretty disappointing experience overall, but craftsmanship was good, and I wasnt over charged in the end. Just be careful.

I don’t like leaving negative reviews if I can help it but my experience with Lennie’s was not a positive one. I went to pick up a suit jacket that was getting one alteration done to the length of the sleeves and it hadn’t even been started. The pins were still on the sleeves but was in marked completed. I’m glad I checked because the lady had no idea. The only reason I’m not giving this a 1 star review is because she had it ready in 30 minutes. They had it for one week and couldn’t finish it but somehow got it done in 30? I know how reviews affect small businesses so I think 3 starts is generous. I unfortunately don’t think I will be coming back.

We love Lennie and his sweet wife! This is by far the best alterations shop in San Antonio, they always do a wonderful job! They are quick and inexpensive, whether we need something done in a few days or were working on a budget they are always willing to work with us. Hands down the best place in town!

Lennies Alterations is an incredible place to trust your alterations. They have done several projects for me and I would highly recommend them from jeans to the finest brands of your choice. Not the cheapest but the quality is worth it if you love a piece to make the financial commentment to wear it properly. 5 Stars for sure!!!

Alterations quality good, customer relations spotty. Price is comparable and work is usually timely. My first experience was good and I went into a second work order with confidence but was unpleasantly surprised with the lack of clarity regarding the price of a work order; the owner made an unsolicited offer to do more work without clarifying changes to the invoice/bill ticket. After the work was done, I was upset that only Then did he mention the added cost of the work ..and he appeared frustrated with me that I was frustrated at him. After some bickering, he wanted to get rid of me and basically tried to let me off the hook but I refused. He failed to realize why I was upset and the principal behind my frustration - I wasnt trying to get free services from the dude, he just surprised me and I felt swindled. The bill for 2 hemmed shorts was 22. The adjusted bill was around $34 and only cash was accepted so I had to run out to an ATM and took 40 out and let him have all of it just because. Im still a little salty about the experience but I will go back because of his good work and general pleasantness. Lesson for me is to really clarify the price before work is done (the point of an invoice ticket I thought).

Randomly found Lennie when I was looking for a tailor to sew a button on a dress i was wearing from Rent the Runway. He not only fixed it, he made sure to match the replacement button to the original buttons. I have been going to him ever since.

I left here in tears. I run a business and customer service is very important. Well, today I experienced the worst customer service ever. The lady put a couple pins in my dress and was supposed to come back to finish to give me an estimate. As more customers started coming, I was rushed to take my dress off so the fitting room can be used. I wasn’t done getting my dress fitted. She told me I had time since my wedding was later and basically pushed me off for the other customers that came in. Notifying me that it’s prom season and their busy. We’re all customers and I should have had the same care with my dress fitting. I’m very disappointed as it was already stressful trying to find the perfect place to alter my wedding dress. Words of advice is to treat each paying customer the same. I’ve never left a business feeling the way I felt today.

Awesome job on an expensive pair of selvedge denim I needed fitted! He doesnt just cut and tack at the waist. He split them down the seam and resews them with perfect precision. Great prices and turn around time!

He kept comparing me to some other customer saying that he was “doing a favor” by attending to my tailoring needs before someone else. What?! I have no idea what some other customer has to do with helping me as a customer. And I have no idea what his income has to do with his business, or, for that matter, me. I don’t care how much you make, I don’t care how much work you do, all I came here to do was get some pants fixed. Rude, horrible, stay away from this business! Stay clear away!

A friend had referred me to Lennies when I was complaining about a formal dress that I was not comfortable in and I wanted the dress to be easy to get into for the event and not have to worry about adjusting the ties that could craftily be made into sleeves by using a belt.So when i walked in and described my issue he had a completely different plan and it looked better than what I had in mind. he even said. We want to do what ever is cheaper for you. So I took off the dress and he said he would fix it right then so I didnt need to make the trip back. In about 15 min my dress was perfect and cost me 12$. Lennie seemed nice, but the lady who works there is rude and can barely understand you. They only take cash or check but dont tell you that until you go to check out. They also didnt give me a quote when I went in for the first fitting, and it ended up being fairly expensive. Overall it was not a pleasant experience and I cant recommend them. Sorry.
