Tieken Auto Service was a lifesaver!We were on a several week trip, far away from home, and had been experiencing car trouble that was steadily worsening.David was very professional, listened to all of our concerns, and was able to get us in quickly. He and the tech did a lot of research, called several dealerships to collect more info and schematics, and isolated our issue to a couple of botched repairs by a prior shop.Quick turnaround, and a fair price. I would certainly use them for auto repair the next time Im in San Antonio!

These guys are helpful and arent afraid to answer questions. They dont give up on problems but also are straightforward if they cant help you. They wont waste your money. Only warning is drop your vehicle while they are open and can get your car behind the fenced and locked gate. The area isnt the greatest and vandalism of your vehicle if left outside the gate is likely. However I have left my car with them to be kept gated overnight many times and no issues. These guys are honest and good at what they do.

I had a bad experience with this auto ace had to take my complaint to court. But i wouldnt recommend this shop but thats my opinion.

Traveling through San Antonio from PA my van broke down on Thursday leading into 4th of July weekend. They gave me an accurate diagnosis (cracked flywheel) and were able to pull the transmission and fix it the next day. Most importantly the owner and staff were honest and courteous. I didn’t know what to expect since the surrounding neighborhood is a little “rough” but I was pleasantly surprised. The price was fair for the repair. Thanks so much for getting my family back on the road!

The owner, David is a God fearing caring man. He is never too busy to explain every detail of what is being done to your vehicle. I watched him do that to 3 customers 1 by 1. Great respectable technicians. If you want excellent quality work on your vehicle, I recommend Tienkens hands down!!

I recently had issues with my wheel bearings, and the workers here were all so friendly and amazing. They saved me the stress of my car being out of service for a week, thoroughly explained the issue, and I was able to get my car back and be able to drive my son around safely! They have excellent customer service, and genuinely care. Very rare to find nowadays! My dad has been going to them for years. I never think to leave Google reviews, but they definitely deserve one!!

They tried to tell me I needed a new transmission when it was just my oil pan and rob me at 4,000 screw this place.

Words cant express how grateful I am to have finally found a reputable HONEST car repair shop. I have brought in my vehicle for three separate issues and each experience with them has been better than the previous. Ive had the AC compressor replaced, intake manifold replaced and my most recent repair was for a broken cv axle.Each time Ive had issues with my vehicle, I have called around and EACH TIME, Tieken will have lower estimates than any other shops Ive called , sometimes as significant as 30% savings. Every employee there is helpful and I feel as if they genuinely care for their customers best interests. This last experience was with David who was extremely helpful. He took the time to explain their other findings, didnt place any pressure on me to get these other repairs done. In fact, he explained that most of these issues were age related and could wait. He pointed out that I could take my time and when I was ready if I wanted to get one item at a time, then he would suggest priority at that time. I can honestly say this has been the most pleasant experience in dealing with car repairs and because of all the previous positive experiences, they have gained a customer for life.

Called for an estimate to install a distributor on 93Chevy 4.3, price quote was very reasonable. Dropped truck off with David. Couple of hours later went to pick it up. Got there was greeted by Jacob behind the counter processed the paper work and I was out of there. Truck ran just like it did when I dropped it off perfect. Very professional, honest, and reasonable shop. Would trust them to work on any of my vehicles.

David was great he explainded everything to us. our car acked like there was a ghost in it. horns going off/radio changing channes on its on. thsy figured out the problem and fixed it at a very reasonable price. HONEST AND RELIABLEI was very worried that as a woman I would be taken advantage of going into the automotive shop alone, but that was not my experience at all. I was taken care of by Mr.. Barrera and he was very interested in making sure that I received the best care possible! I am not a rich woman and I appreciated them getting it right the first time. God forbid I have other problem with my car soon, but if I do I now know a shop where I will be taken care of, instead of taken advantage of.

I normally dont leave reviews, but this place was so awesome I had to. As a female, Im always a little apprehensive worrying about taking my cars to the mechanic in case I get duped. I called Dave at Tieken and they checked out my F-150 for free, I ended up needing a clutch and after checking with family members who are also certified mechanics (out of state), I got the go ahead on pricing, per them, it was cheaper than most places as well as the fact I wasnt charged for the checkout.My truck is back to normal :) I did end up having my husband bring the truck down and the technician was great as well. I will now start bringing all 3 of my cars to Tieken and recommending them to family and friends. Friendly, honest, service. Female/military friendly

We were visiting San Antonio when the AC in our Buick Enclave died on Sunday. Out of town. 103°. Need a repair shop. 😪 The reviews for Tieken Auto were decent. Monday morning I took the car to their shop. First impression. Nice people. Clean shop. Talked to the service writer Dave. He took me back to where we were staying. A few hours later he called with a diagnosis that confirmed what I suspected. The compressor locked up. I authorized the repair. Before the shop closed Dave picked me up and we returned to the shop. Our car was repaired and the AC was blowing cold. The repair is covered by a 2 yrs warranty. So far I am very pleased with the shop, repair, and the staff. The other customers were all in a good mood. Current circumstances lead me to believe this shop is a great place to have your car fixed.

Mr David is a good family friend and always goes out of his way to accommodate us. Hes worked on our 2004 Dodge Dakota and our 2009 Land Rover LR3 and the service is incredible. A quality job, done right the first time, and always friendly. What more can you ask for?

Traveling through San Antonio headed to Florida they took out and replaced our Transmission in 1 day. The Staff is professional, people we met in the waiting room 2 different families have been going to these guys for 25yrs. So I think we got lucky when our Transmission broke down. The cost for our new transmission in our 2004 Silverado seemed on the high side, but with a 3yr. 100,000 mile warranty is good with us.

Third time visit, different car. The place would score excellent if the final price was a littles more stationary. The 2005 Mazda Tribute SUV died, a victim of alternator failure. The original quite was supposed to be high to cover any surprises, but it was not high enough. Final price was about 50% higher, but I take most of the blame for adding an oil change and requesting brakes inspection. The brakes inspection was free meaning the car does not yet need brakes, but I thought the cleaning fee of $40 was not quite kosher. So, oil change and brake cleaning added about $80 of the extra $140. So now I have a little better idea how to interpret the estimates in the future. Otherwise, pleasant shop, nice people, decent service, no issues there.

These guys found the problem with my truck very quickly, and even when no one else could. The also explained in detail, the problem and how they recommend how to fix it. And the price was very reasonable. They have earned my trust, as well as becoming my go to shop.

David Barrera runs a great shop. We came in from out of town with a busted ac line. Davids shop was really busy and he quickly recommended us to another shop to get us on our way. Most shops wouldnt do that. A++ guy.
