Im guessing the people who have had poor service here have just decided its too much of a hassle to write a review. I went here because of the great Google reviews but beware, after my third visit and being stranded calling for a wrecker after leaving their shop I will not go back. Multiple issues from days and days of waiting to hear status updates to overcharging for parts to picking up vehicles and finding new and additional problems. Should have been smarter and not returned after I went to pick up my daughters vehicle and the battery was dead. They did offer to give me a jump start. Pretty sorry operation though.

Ive had multiples vehicles fixed at Martins over many years, and was generally happy. After two bad experiences recently its clear that theyre not what they used to be. I let it slide last time when my fuel pump replacement and rear brake service was priced $200 higher at the shop than the quote was over the phone. This new price was given prior to the work being done but after my expense of being towed there. They said that the price quoted before must have been for a lesser quality part. Not a good excuse. I should have walked away.Today I went in with a different vehicle and they insist on a $95 diagnostic fee per issue with the vehicle. Ive never had any diagnostic charge at Martins, much less multiple $95 charges on one vehicle.Now I use arrowwood automotive for my Honda. I need to find a Volvo shop now. Im done with Martins.

I am not quick to write 5 star reviews. This service shop is absolutely amazing. I have had 3 vehicles worked on now over the last 2 years and every experience has far exceeded my expectations. They have gone above and beyond to try and save me as much money as possible. On my BMW it needed front control arms and I said go ahead and replace the back ones too. Joseph told me they could do that but I absolutely did not need them and this saved me quite a bit of money...........most shops would have just replaced them and took the money. This type of honesty is extremely rare in a mechanic shop these days. I just got my Dodge 1500 Hemi Ram back yesterday. They received it the day before at noon and in 24hrs replaced the radiator and all hoses, did an oil change and replaced the S belt at a very competitive rate. Joseph , Mark and all the staff have been a pleasure to work with. If you need any work done you can stop looking for a shop because you have found it. AAA+++ service. In looking for a car repair shop, I noticed this place had a lot of great reviews so I decided to take my car here. I had taken my car to a different shop just days prior and that shop named about 17 different things/parts that were wrong with my car — it was going to cost $X,000. I took my car to Martin’s and told them what I believed was the problem (based on what the previous shop said). The guys at Martin’s were super helpful and honest about what the problem was and my car cost less than $200 to get fixed by them AND I got it back within a few hours the same day. The guys I spoke to were very professional and should I need a car repair again, I’ll definitely be coming here.

Hands down, the most painless interaction with a mechanic service EVER. Joseph was super patient and willing to work with me on price. I kept waiting to see if there was a catch somewhere! We will definitely be coming back, just hopefully not too soon!

So Im always skeptical on going to a new mechanic shop because the bad experience I have had at a few places here in San Antonio. SO my brother is a certified Master Mechanic,and he lives 800 miles away but he did some research and found Martins Auto, so I read the reviews and they were all good, and Im all about reviews. So I took my car in and told them I knew it was leaking coolant but not sure where from and the exact problem.So Mark told me he was going to look at it and would call me in few hours, and he did and I didnt quit understand so I had my brother call and Mark explained what he did and what he needed to do. So after having the car 1 1/2 days my car was fixed. So to sum it up this place is great, Mark was awesome Thanks A lot. And I will now have me a Mechanic shop:) the price was not to bad either. Appreciate you guys fixing my car, and also talking with my brother!!!! Oh and washing my dirty car!!:)

First of all, I would like to thank everyone at Martins Auto Clinic! Thank you for your hard and honest work. I recently got an engine replacement with them and everything so far has been working great. Chris and Jesse are always on point and have great customer service! The owner, Martin, is a humble man who will go the extra mile for his customers and makes sure they are taken care of the right way. Keep up the great work guys!! Highly recommended!

Ill first start of by saying owning and maintaining a vehicle is expense. Especially if something happens all of a sudden, out feels like a real gut punch to get it fixed, but hey thats apart of being a vehicle owner. They do offer a military discount which is greatly appreciated.Now I will say I will definitely continue to bring my business to the auto shop. I have always had bad experiences with auto shops wanting to just cattle as much as they can and not fix my problem and Im out hundreds if not thousands of dollars even at dealerships. Now my SUV is a hybrid and in think that scares a lot of mechanics and the first thing the jump to is to replace the battery because they will see a lot of hybrid codes when they diagnose it. But they do not know it a chain reaction for the normal engineer functions. Mike the mechanic that worked on my vehicle knew this and did basic troubleshooting first before assuming the worst and did a tune up and had my car running amazing by COB. I even spoke with him about other services my SUV was going to need and he explained why my car was doing something that no one could explain to me before.The only thing is I had to call to see what the diagnosis was and again with what the status was which was no problem since I was informed they had a heavy workload that day I just wanted to check and get estimate times of when it might be done so I could make other arrangements if I needed to, I definitely did not want to rush them.Everyone was nice, honest and very curious, I even got a follow up email the next to of a quote I requested that they said they would do and they actually did it, and two days later I received and follow up test asking to make sure my vehicle was still running well! That was a first for me and I love it!

Great service!! They were quick to fix my Expedition engine and at such an amazingly fair price. We had gone to 2 different shops, 1 couldnt find the issue, the other quoted a crazy amount. I would highly recommend this shop to everyone. The business owner runs his business on integrity and truly wants to help. Thanks so much guys!!

I have lived here in San Antonio twelve years, and Martin has been my guy since day 1. He is honest, does great work, and keeps you informed on the progress of the work, and he gets to know his customers. Even if it did cost a little more at Martins, Id take my car there anyway. There are very few honest mechanics out there, and Martin is one of them. Just thought I would share.

I took my car in August of 2020 . They called me not even an hour later they call me to ask how to turn on my car . Then they kept my car for a week and a half to check the electrical repair and fix it . It took them to get the part and they put it in told me everything was good and I paid them $625 for the service and then not even a day later my car started acting up and now the air conditioner is not working and the radio is not loud anymore and the electric part not even working at all . I dont recommend it . I took it back and they told me only the car dealership can fix it .

These guys know what they are doing, they are very patient/understanding when I was upset about my car issues in the past, they have given me rides home, and I feel like they are super fair. Seriously great service - you should all take your cars here! There are a few guys that dont seem super approachable when you first walk in but they are great...just not overly enthusiastic in their greeting.

I honestly can’t say enough about how great this place is. Everyone was friendly, courteous and HONEST. They got me in same day, had my car fixed in less than 24 hours when the other place I tried wouldn’t even look at my car for 3 days and were rude. Hands down I will be coming back here any time my vehicle needs work.

My vehicle was in and out in a convenient time frame, free shuttle service, warrantied parts and an affiliation with a national network for services when out of town. This was my first time coming here and I will definitely come back. I feel everything was reasonably priced, they fixed what I needed/asked them to fix and even made me aware of other issues that I might need to take care of. Now, my car is running like it was before it freaked out on me. I feel comfortable driving my car again.Outside of car service, I feel their customer service was exceptional. My car started stalling/sputtering on my way to work. It was to the point that I wanted to turn around and go back home, but the drive was kind of far and I wasnt confident Id make it home without my car completely dying on me in the middle of traffic (not sure if it was quite that serious, but it felt like it). So I came here since it was really close to where I worked (and had good ratings). I dropped my car off to be looked at but I needed to get back to work so they offered to take me wherever I needed to go. I had the driver (hate that I didnt catch his name) take me to enterprise to rent a car and he stayed until he knew that I was able to actually rent a car and not be stranded at Enterprise. Im really glad he stayed because I wasnt able to rent that car, so he drove me to work. The next day, my car was ready early in the morning (fast service). Another driver from Martins was sent to my house (which is actually pretty far away) and I was able to get my car back. Shuttle services are not unique to Martins Auto Clinic. Im sure lots of places do it (Ive experienced them before), but this was the best one, in my opinion. Both drivers were super friendly, super chill, and funny! I had very interesting/entertaining conversations with both drivers the entire time I was with them. Not a single moment of awkward silence. Honestly, they both brightened my day. Everyone I met took away a lot of the stress of having the to bring your car in to get fixed. I primarily dealt with Jesse/Jessie who was also extremely friendly and professional. He also seemed to go out of his way to take care of his customers.Everything Im raving about are things that everyone providing a service should do, but you just dont get that anymore these days. My experiences with car mechanics/auto repair places until now have been unpleasant, so coming here was truly a breath of fresh air.

I’ve been a customer of Martin’s for about 2 years and every time I have had my car serviced, the prices were good and service was excellent. The team is very friendly and really tries to help. Car stuff can be stressful. I will keep going back and recommending their services to friends and family.

My parents own a small auto repair themselves, so I grew up knowing how cars work and how much repairs typically cost. Ive taken my 2000 Taurus to them a couple times now for suspension and AC work, and both times they had to do exactly what I expected. The labor charges are even what industry standards quote, so I feel they are very trustworthy. On top of that, they give a 10% military discount!To make things even better, theyve turned both of my repairs around the next day. Im also impressed that so far theyve done quotes for repairs at no cost, so if youre not happy with what they want to do to your vehicle, then thats just fine.Id also like to say that they pointed out an issue with my power steering line while working on my AC and suggested a fix for it. They were more than happy to let me fix that by myself, which just helped me establish better rapport with them.Im currently having issues with an O2 sensor now which Ive learned is more than just the sensor itself, so Im going to take it back to them to diagnose.EDIT: I took my car back for the O2 problem after I couldnt figure it out. They found that some wiring burned against the exhaust manifold and even pointed out that my serpentine belt needed to be replaced - FREE OF CHARGE. The two fixes took me a total of an hour to do myself, which saved me ~$100 in labor. Ill likely take my Honda there for its next oil change.

Have been going here for several years now. They have done nothing but top notch work on our vehicles. Recently worked with Jessie Ortiz at Martins do an engine swap for on an older model truck. Jessie ordered the engine on Wednesday and had it here by Friday the same week. Now thats skills!! When he spoke to me about he engine swap he was going to do he explained to me how he had recently toured the facility where the engines were being rebuilt in Jasper, Indiana. Jessie explained the process he observed while visiting the site where the engines were being rebuilt and how meticulous the technicians were being and that the engines were not just being thrown back together. I have never had to do an engine swap in a vehicle so this will be my first one. But Jessie has made that decision easy for me. Will always go to Martins Auto Clinic!!!

As far as mechanics shops go. Ive been visiting CD by I-35 and New Bruanfels for the past 10 years. For the most part theyve got the job done but have been lacking these past few visits.So when I wanted to have my A/C checked a friend recommended Martins Auto Clinic.After going through all the reviews I decided to take a chance and see how it goes.I arrived at the shop at 8am and first thing I noticed is how clean and organized the shop was. Then after filling out some paper work and description of the problem they offered me a courtesy ride home. Shortly after they gave me a return call to confirm what the problem was along with the cost to repair and if they have consent to work on it. Later I was picked up and received my vehicle with working A/C at a very reasonable price. Im very happy with all the services and extra steps they took to make me happy including that they guaranty the work.I was even told that they do financing as an option for times when you just dont have the cash to have it done that day.Overall I think I found my new home for my vehicle repair shop.

When I go down the “research” rabbit hole it just means I am going to have a million questions for whoever I am doing business with. I contacted Martin’s after hours and got a very rapid response that I was not expecting. I had a bunch of questions and James answered every one of them. Not only was he patient and prompt but he also seemed to LISTEN to me.Their pricing is very fair and on par with most of the other independent shops in town and the quality of their work stands above the rest. The thing that they REALLY excel in though is their customer service. They WANT your business and they care about you.Communication – they are GREAT about letting you know what is going on yet without overwhelming you. They are also fantastic if you prefer electronic communications such as email, text, etc.Bottom line is, James WON my business but the rest of the crew at Martin’s KEPT my business.It is literally a team effort and although it sounds cliché, they REALLY do make you feel like family.Spread the word folks – this is the REAL DEAL!

Seriously Martins is, in my experience, the best place to take your car in San Antonio.Amazingly fast and professional service. After calling several of their competitors and getting multiple varying quotes, Martins was among the most reasonably priced. I arrived at 8am and they were able to check out my Jeep and diagnose the problem within 30 minutes. They explained the problem and gave me several options, all were very competitively priced. They gave me a ride home, I live pretty close, and within a few hours they were done. I cannot express how great my experience was. I have dealt with four other mechanics in the San Antonio area and none of them were as honest, professional, thorough, fast or courteous as Martins.- I said this on Yelp and had to share it on Google as well. They are just fantastic.

I have always had great service with these guys. I brought my car from Austin because I know theyve always taken good care of me. Im not sure what happened this time. They are very attentive with calls and follow-up. But this time they didnt fix the problem. Its still stalling on me. Gas mileage is horrible. So, almost $800 later and nothing is fixed. I guess I have to find a new mechanic. It really makes me sad because I really trusted these guys.

Quick turn-around and fair price. Took in my truck at 9 am to have the water pump replaced, they had it finished by 6 pm and under the estimate they quoted. I definitely recommend them.

Greeted me as I exited my vehicle. I hydroplaned and severely bent my front rims. They inspected my vehicle and checked for any faulty areas. Nothing, other than my bent rims were found. They didnt try and charge for other areas, nor did they try and search for ways to charge me. They didnt even charge to switch out my tire for the spare. Honest, friendly, genuine service. Thank you. Good first experience, will definitely come back.

I’m so glad I took my car for repairs at Martin’s Auto Clinic. They are very courteous and kept me informed through out the entire process. More importantly, they came in very close to the estimate for repairs despite finding other issues. Other auto shops will take advantage and drastically increase the estimate of repairs. I know because it happened to me at another shop. I am a customer for life!

They gave me better service and prices than my own damn manufacturer/service centers of my crappy car. And Christ on a cracker, they give you rides to and from their repair clinic- something I had intense trouble trying to get Ford service centers to do. It makes sense that if you have my car I WILL NEED A RIDE BACK TO IT. Plus they have coffee, cool interior design with used auto parts, and a auto shop cat. :3 What more can you ask for?

They have kept my aging 2001 F-150 on the road throughout my college years, saving me lots of money on a car payment I cannot afford yet. As a result of their consistent performance, they continue to be my go to place for honest, reliable auto repair.Simply put, they tell the customer what needs to be done and what doesnt, they fix it correctly and they only charge for necessary work. If the work turns out cheaper than the original estimate, they credit the money back to the customer.It can be difficult and stressful finding good, honest mechanics that you can trust, but save yourself the time and anxiety, and go to Martins Auto Clinic. There is a reason they have such great reviews.

Definitely the kind of customer service experience I hoped to find when I moved to SanAntonio. The people were all very nice and helpful and the prices were fair. Martin himself did the inspection on my car and his wife gave me a ride back to the shop after I dropped off the rental car I was in.

Martin is the most honest man you could ever hope to meet. He has taken care of my cars for years now and I now wont go anywhere else. He consistently offers an incredibly low price, and has even gone out of his way to find a place who could do a job for less money, even at the expense of his own shop. When I shopped for a new to me car, he inspected all of the finalists and gave solid advice. He has gone out of his way on multiple occasions to get repairs completed in a timely fashion. Above all, he clearly knows a lot about cars and is concerned with keeping his customers safe and happy rather than squeezing extra money out of them. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

The people here are honest and will get a job done. The staff is friendly. They dont over charge or try to rip you off. Jesse kept me up to date with what was going on with my car and found a serious problem. They took Care of my vehicle. It was in good hands and the AC cane out cold and my inner tie rod got fixed. I have been using Martins Auto Clinic for several years and have always liked the service I have received. They have honor their warranty even after a year just to make sure you have a good experience. Most other places its only a year if you are lucky.

Martin is by far the best mechanic Ive ever had work on our cars. He goes out of his way to offer the best advice and service for a very fair and competitive price. He has never charged overpriced diagnostics and has even looked at our cars and provided free diagnostics, even when we didnt get the work done immediately. No matter where we live in San Antonio, our cars will come here for repairs.

There are no words for how much I appreciate the kindness and mechanical expertise from Jesse and his crew at Martins. My son and I had an alternator go out while on vacation in San Antonio, and they all took care of us far above anything I expected. They worked us into their schedule immediately. Instead of allowing this to ruin our vacation, they gave us a ride to and from Sea World while they fixed my car. When we got back my car was fixed, and they had even gone so far as to give my little boy a firemens hat. Their shop is immaculate, their mechanical work is wonderful, and every single person I met at this shop had an amazing heart. I would recommend Martins Auto clinic to anyone and everyone in the San Antonio area.

Absolutely the best auto shop there is! I dropped my car off mid morning not knowing quite what the issue was with my car. I described the problems I was experiencing and they isolated the problem by that afternoon. They called with how much it would cost(Hub bearing) and with parts, labor, taxes... it was highly reasonable! My car was ready to go the next morning. I have another issue I need to get fixed and I will definitely be coming back for that soon.

This is a fantastic mechanic, they could have taken advantage of me and told me I need to replace my brakes. Turns out they were just rusted from not being used for a few weeks. Very honest, polite and hard working.

Had both front CV assemblies gone bad. They quoted me more than $200 less than the last shop I visited. Dropped my car off, THEY GAVE ME A RIDE BACK HOME, and it was done in less than a day. THEY PICKED ME UP from home, and they were within $15 of their quote. The work is solid and at a damned good price. Im not going anywhere but to Martins for anything with my car. Professional staff, knowledgeable, and more than courteous.

I really cant recommend this place enough. My car was losing power and running exceptionally rough but on an intermittent basis so it was difficult to diagnose. I took it to Martins and they were extremely pleasant to work with, calling me regularly with updates and asking permission before doing anything that would require an additional charge. They thought theyd fixed it at one point but after test driving it determined it was still not quite perfect and requested a little extra time, no charge, to see if they could find the problem. They did so within 24 hours. They took me into the shop when I picked it up and showed me exactly what they did and the parts they replaced (generally I find that an honest mechanic will be very thorough about this) and demonstrated that the engine was in fact running fine again.Couldnt be more satisfied, Ill be sure to return when my car needs more service.10/1/2013 Update: Had a very noisy belt and a stuck hood and they fixed both in about an hour for an extremely reasonable price. Still couldnt be happier with the service.

Ive taken my cars here for the past two years and they always do a great, fast job. The best part about Martins is that they dont try to get you to spend money on things you dont need. I had a check engine light come on and they could have gotten me to pay for this and that, but it turned out to be a false alarm and they told me that nothing was really wrong (Chris was a big help)... then I asked about an injection flush and they said it looked clean and I didnt really need it either. Like I said, they could have ripped me off but they didnt. Integrity like this doesnt usually exist in mechanics. I will always use Martins and will tell all my friends to use them too. I want to make sure that they get plenty of customers and even MORE money from being honest and helpful than other mechanics do from cheating and overselling customers. Ask for Chris when you call, he did a super job explaining things to me and was very patient answering my questions when I called him every 10 mins. Haha. Martins is great!

They are very polite and respectful but unfortunately I was denied service just because I bought my own part which makes no sense to me but taking my business somewhere else.

Had my car towed to Martins by recommendation of the driver. They did a great job at a very fair price. The owner even spoke to my wife and me afterwards and thanked us for his business.

Very professionals, my z71 runs great. They had it ready the same day. I never met the machanic that serviced my truck i wish i would have to shake his had. Mr. Mark kept me informed the whole time. They also will give you a ride to your destination and pick you up when you vehicle is ready. MARTINS AUTO CLIINIC IS NOW MY MACHANIC.THANK YOU.

I call this shop to do a timing belt for my honda and he wanted to charge me $1025 for parts and labor. Folk I understand that he does good work but he is very expensive. I order the timing belt kit for $220, he said he could not install it because of warranty issue. I said to him over the phone that his parts are to expensive or his labor, another shop wanted $550 to installed my parts, If I let them do the work the repairs would cost me $750. I was going to give them a 0ne star but the person over the phone was courteous, so I gave the business a three star..

My truck is part of my business. Recently I got the check engine light. Turns out based on different quotes from Bring Your Own Parts, Performance Automotive & Transmission (off of Marbach) to the neighborhood mechanic all quoted me from $1k and more.The issue: truck begin to lag at take off.Martins Auto Clinic checked out the truck and within 30 mins told me ironically it was missing the TCM fuse that communicated transmission to engine.Paid $50 and done!If you want honesty to the point great service this is your place.Scheduling a full truck diagnostic soon.Thanks Jesse, Josef, Martin!

These guys are very helpful. Especially Jesse. And their prices are really fair. Overall its a great friendly environment and they dont make you feel stupid for not knowing about cars like some mechanics.

The mechanics in the shop are honest in the work is done very quickly. good mechanics are hard to find and the mechanics in martins auto clinic are definitely great

Had an airbag light on so i called. The guy i called said bring it in whenever that i didnt need an appointment. I got there about 15 minutes later and another guy told me they could get me in in an hour or so and would need the car all day. It is a computer diagnostic and reset which doesnt take all day unless you are trying to rip someone off. Fail...
