Very welcoming and friendly place. No pushy salesmen tactics by Haas sensei, he lets the class session speak for itself. It was slightly confusing to first find since google maps shows slightly off from where it actually is. Great great place to develop REAL self defense!

I almost want to be selfish and not post this review, so as to keep this place to myself... This gym is a hidden gem.Real old-school Judo and Jiu-jitsu is found here, unclouded by IJF and IBJJF rulesets. More than just a gym, Sensei Chad Haas has built a literal laboratory for those that train here. The mat area has numerous cameras and the video feeds can be flagged by students via multiple buttons on the walls and then accessed, allowing you to break down your game and refine those little details. The facility is very clean and has dressing rooms for both genders.Saturday open mat is an eclectic cross-pollination of grapplers from multiple styles and gyms, with many driving in weekly from out of town.Sensei Haas himself is a great teacher, who devotes time to each and every student. I was surprised coming in from the BJJ world of inner-circles and cliques to find the environment I did. Sensei trains, spars, and socializes with ALL of his students regularly. Not only that, he actually breaks down and improves upon the dated vagaries of language that classify classic techniques and makes them more distinguishable for all purposes.Come to the lab and get to work.

Great place, great people, great workout!

I looked at a few places before this one and they all felt like sales people to me. Sensei Haas gave me an opposite vibe immediately. Everyone here looks after each other and helps each other grow in the discipline. I am new to martial arts but I already feel way more confident. I went from being a rag doll (having zero clue of what I was doing) to being able to submit heavier and more advanced partners in a few months of constant training! I can also see how it is beginning to positively influence my life in other ways. Definitely worth every minute and every penny I have invested so far.

This is the place to go if you want to learn real Judo. Chad is a fantastic instructor and very knowledgeable about multiple martial arts disciplines. His experience with law enforcement and focus on teaching ALL aspects of Judo and Jiu-Jitsu are invaluable if youre interested in learning real self-defense in real situations that youre likely to encounter. He teaches all the classes himself, so youre not getting a lower belt filling in you get the best, every class.

If youre looking to practice the true judo you can use in self defense, here is where you go. I have been training with here for a few months now, and i really enjoy it. they teach you stand-up moves as well as ground games.. they even let you practice for a week for free to see if you like it. after my first week, i got addicted haha!!

Sensei Haas is a true master. This is real, practical judo in a safe, clean environment. There is no comparison.

I love learning here. You learn a lot from everyone. I tried a few other places and couldnt get the moves correct. Sensei teaches the moves so that it is applicable in a real situation rather than sport so it was a lot easier for me to get the moves down. Sensei also goes over all the little details that can make your move a success or a failure.

I have been practicing martial arts for a long time. And Sensei Chad is, by many miles the most talented, detailed oriented, and patient teacher that I have had the honor and the privilege of training and working with on the mats.He walks the walk, and not only talks the talk like a lot of martial arts teachers that either only practice or only teach (and cannot explain and display the techniques properly in a way their students can understand).He has a natural talent and ability to teach not only to all different levels, but to different types of students with a gift if speaking their language and formatting the lesson to suit their needs and desires in a unique way that they can learn and understand. To where it actually sinks in.He supercedes any other teacher or training partner you will find. He is also extremely humble, (But dont let that fool you), he is a Beast on the mats and will find your weak spots and destroy you! He is not only an incredible teacher and a true master of his art, but he also cares about his students, formats the classes based on their individual needs, and always delivers much more than others or what is expected. All in an immaculately clean dojo that is a very safe and fun, light-hearted environment. He cleans every single day, you wont be gettingel ajy bacetrial infections or ring worm on his mats, he takes grrag pride in the cleanliness and overall energy of his training environment. As you should, because to a lot of us, the mats are our sanctuaries and our escape.And most importantly, he also authentically encompasses the principles of the traditional judo art (and jiu jitsu), in a way that is unique and transformative. It will completely change the way you look at the arts and at life.
