Randy & Dylan at the Grimes location have been awesome with both my husband’s Jeep and my car! They are very communicative and are great at explaining the issues and how they need to be fixed. The mechanics on the team get the work done very timely, and nobody pressures you into more work than is needed. Coming from a family of mechanics, I am always skeptical of auto shops, but Lamb’s has been an absolute dream to work with!

Foundation auto repair is about a mile away from my home which is why I initially took my vehicle there. They answered the phone when I called and told me to bring it in so I came in, let them know the problem, and they were extremely prompt and thorough, they told me everything, and explained to me what it needed, and why it needed to be done. I havent had an issue at all with the car since I got it back. I received it back on the same day so it was convenient! These guys are friendly and very knowledgeable. When I went to pick my car up, it was actually less than what they quoted me so that was a pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend!

I was referred to Foundation for my annual vehicle inspection renewal a few years ago, and now I only take my SUV there for all things. Randy and Dan in the front office are both warm and genuine. They treat you like a longtime neighbor and take the time to explain any needed repairs without a patronizing or glib attitude like at other auto repair shops I have been. When my factory installed a/c started losing its cool, their technicians fixed it up. After a few weeks it lost its cool again, I went back and they found one of the bolts/screws/clamps (?) was defective and took care of it quickly. They stand behind their work and I trust them with both my regular maintenance and repair work. Professional & trustworthy.

Foundation auto repair was more than happy to provide my car with a new battery after the Texas snowstorm. Uppon reccomendation I got my car battery replaced after it froze. I was planning on leaving town that day and driving to visit family. The Brake light came on!!! I raced over to my Shop first thing in the morning. Everyone there is terrific. They ran diagnostics and then hoisted it up and looked everything over. Brake pads are getting worn, but safe for the trip. They had me out and on the road in less than an hour!! I love these guys!!

I took my truck in for an Inspection and it did not pass due to worn down tire tread, which I knew going in this would be a possible issue. They were able to give me a great deal on 4 tires and had them installed and balanced with no issues. Great service! I would highly recommend this shop.

Went in for a state inspection. I have a crack in my bumper which has been there for around 3 years. The bumper is fine otherwise, its not covering any lights, not moving around or anything, and has NEVER been a problem during inspection. I went to this place because the Castrol Lube Express nearby where I always got it done did not have their certified inspector. I was getting signed up at this place to get my car inspected when the inspector walks in talking about how hes probably going to have to fail the car with the cracked bumper. I immediately jumped in and told him thats my car and that has never been a problem. Instead of going out to take a better look, he continued to act like my car was in shambles, and said that I will probably need to replace the bumper if the car fails the inspection. I told them that it seemed like they didnt want my business, and I would probably be better off somewhere else, and they agreed! The guy signing me up at the front seemed like a nice guy, but that bald inspector was super shady and suspect. Seems like all the other services people have gotten have been good. I cant comment on that. But if you are getting a state inspection, I would advise going somewhere else. I ended up going to jiffy lube close by, I mentioned my bumper and they said, Thats nothing! I was In and out in 15 minutes, inspection done. This Foundation Auto Repair place wouldve probably had me making multiple trips and in the hole $500.

I sure appreciate the folks at Foundation Auto Repair. They went the extra mile to fix my 1994 Firebird Formula when spare parts were not readily available. They clearly and honestly communicated the repair process required to get my car to pass the Texas safety check. I will bring all my vehicles to Foundation Auto Repair in the future.

My AC was out in my car and I took it to one repair shop and was told it would cost $900 to fix it. Thats didnt sound right, so I contacted another place and something still didnt seem right. I saw Foundation Auto Repair shop on the way home, read about them on their page and decided to get a third opinion. After speaking with Ryan it sounded/felt like he/they cared more about truly fixing my car rather than taking my money. The pricing was affordable and from the first conversation, to picking my car up, everyone was very helpful and welcoming. My AC is working great! Thank you all for the work you put in.

They have done excellent work for me in the past, a/c repair, oil hose repair and recently a/c motor blower maintenance. What I love most about this place is that they are part of Car Credit that offer financing for anything over 200! So I can get my repairs done w/o hesitation.

I was happy with the work done and with the contact-less experience. Someone from the shop picked up the car from my driveway, Ryan called me when the car was ready, I paid using my phone, and someone brought the car back to my driveway. The car is working just fine. Great service!

This place is full of scam artists. Went in for a simple oil change. First thing the guy does is bring me to the back and try to convince me to get my brakes done because it was close to being metal on metal. I decline. Not even 5 minutes later the tech comes out and goes did they tell you yet?. They proceed to say that they didnt do the oil change because my oil filter adapter is cross-threaded and that needs to be fixed, but they can fix it for $400+. Lmao, yeah, I bet you can. Didnt stop them from slapping their oil change sticker on as if the job was done. I just bought the car and they were the ONLY place I went to for an oil change. Avoid this place at all costs.

The office is clean with comfortable seating, the work shop is extremely clean and organized. They stand behind their work, which is very important these days. Easy access off 45 and AW Grimes, within walking distance to Randalls, Java Cafe, fast food, Wells Fargo, Barber Shop and UPS store. Plenty of parking.

I called and asked to bring in my Jeep on a Friday afternoon and they told me to bring it in and they could get it taken care of by the end of the day. They got my Jeep in for an oil change and alignment. Also I asked them to read my check engine codes for me. Instead of roping my into paying for repairs they mentioned that my car may be under and 80k warranty to get what the codes were reading as wrong repaired at the dealership. Overall, they are very nice people and I will definitely be going back for any repairs on my car. 10/10 recommend

In every interaction they have been friendly, helpful, and honest.Two weeks ago I learned that my 05 Honda Civic had an engine oil leak, so I took it to Foundation Auto Repair to get it checked out. After diagnosing the problems, they told me what it would cost and how it would benefit my vehicle by prolonging its lifetime. The employees there were very kind and patient with my decision-making process, answering all the questions I had and not being pushy at all and by only recommending the repairs that were needed.It was a significant repair, but I knew they were being honest because two other auto mechanics had recommended those same repairs over the past year.I had a tight timeframe, but they worked with me and were able to finish working on my car very quickly. I moved to a new state the next day, and had confidence in their repair because of their integrity and the nationwide 36,000-mile warranty they include with their services.After a few days, the owner, Dan, texted me to ask how the car was doing. I was so touched -- Id never had a follow-up call from a mechanic before. Ive now driven my car a few hundred miles since the repair. It has no leaks and works great! I hope Im in Texas again the next time my car needs maintenance so I can take it to Foundation Auto. They have earned my trust, and I definitely recommend them.

Very unprofessional no customer service to speak of, had to walk to auto parts store auto zone to get my own headlight as they would not go get it half mile away.when I arrived I gave them year,make and model of truck they said we have the headlights, toke it apart and said we dont have the light. Called up to auto zone and walked half mile there and hitched a ride back, they offered no help period...still cost me $65 dollars to install in a dodge ram 1500..do not use this place at all..!!

Randy and his crew were so helpful. I moved from out of state and needed to get my car inspected, so I could get it registered in Texas. Unfortunately I didnt have the right amount of coverage through my insurance and also had too dark of tint on my front windows, so I had to come back to get it re-inspected once I fixed everything. But Randy helped me get everything sorted out; he told me exactly what I needed to do with my insurance, and he suggested a great window tinting place to get my tint fixed. I highly recommend this auto repair shop!

Honest and dependable. I took my wife’s car in for a coolant leak only to find out it was much more involved than originally thought. The car isn’t the prettiest, and probably isn’t worth very much. However, it’s been dependable and it’s paid for. Fixing it was going to cost much more than it’s worth. Foundation Auto looked all over for the least expensive parts and kept me updated. The owner then called and said they were able to come up with a much less expensive method. They returned the parts and fixed it in two days.After playing the car repair game with other places in RR and Austin, it’s great to know there are places that still look to solve.a problem in a way that meets the customer’s need without being dishonest. That’s hard to find in the automotive repair world. If you’re looking for a good place to take your car/truck for good work and an honest price, then I highly recommend Foundation. I wish I would have found this place sooner!

Needed oil change, so searched for one close to where I was at the time. Chose it for good reviews and child-friendly waiting area. Very nice waiting area. Quick, professional, polite service. Christian music playing and Bibles available, which I LOVED! Reasonable price as well. Let me know of items that need my attention in the near future. Received an estimate I requested, which printed on my bill and included the FULL price: parts, labor, AND taxes. Leaves no question as to what to expect. Loved THAT, too!

Possibly best car shop ever. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. I had to get my inspection done and an oil change. They offer the most affordable oil change that I have ever seen! I was with my 3 children and they have such a lovely, clean, waiting area with kid books, puzzles and toys. Free coffee and a clean bathroom. And very comfortable couches. If you have to get an oil change or something quick and have to bring your kids along this is the place.The staff was extremely friendly and helpful when I had questions about repairs I may want done in the future. They told me one price $72.00 when I came in and when I paid out it was $98.00 and change. The oil was cloudy on the dipstick like they didnt let it drain all the way. It would have been cheaper too go to the dealer. It didnt even come with a new air filter. Hell I could have went to walmart and got everything done it myself cheaper than this.

Went in for a vehicle inspection, and they wanted to replace my wiper blades, which were not torn or cracked as they claimed. I know because I have them here next to me. Kind of scummy.They also took 90 minutes on the inspection with no one ahead of me, for what thats worth. Never seen anything like it.

Drove by this place on my way to and from work. Was trying to get into the dealership but the wait was long and I seemed to have missed my opportunity many times trying to get my oil changed. Foundation seem to have steady business so I called before bringing my truck in. I thought that their price for an oil change would not pertain to my truck, and I realistically thought I probably wouldnt be seen today. WRONG! What a blessing it was to be in and out in a timely manner. They were quick and the whole experience was a pleasure. I will go back to them, they will have earned my business.

This is the second in-warranty repair weve paid to have accomplished by Foundation, rather than the dealer. That says a lot that were willing to pay for them to do the repair, rather than have it done for free at the dealer. This second repair was somewhat costly as well, and still worth it.Austin is a crazy wacky town, and Foundation is one of the few islands of conservative focused sanity. Very professional.If you need your car repaired or otherwise maintained by solid technicians, and you live in the area, this is the place.
