I love the atmosphere of the Hawthorne location so much! Staff is super friendly, even at 9am. I went in for a haircut/color today and felt instantly transformed. Kira is so amazing! I can easily talk to her about my hair goals and she perfectly matches my hair mood. When it comes to the cut, I let her decide the best cut as she is my Hair Doctor and I love the results every time. I definitely trust her with my hair and I am so happy that I found an amazing stylist!

My massage was the utmost splendid time! I left feeling relaxed with no tension in my muscles or joints. Brodie gives a great massage, & is attentive & caring. A real natural @ his job. Jordan Stoner is the absolute best! She helped me go from dark dark burgundy back to almost my natural color with highlights. I’ve gone to her for numerous “Emergency” calls after doing DIY hair experiments…..DONT DO IT!!! Go see Jordan instead, she’s my hair hero and I’ve never left disappointed.

I had my first Dosha experience with Kira today, who was absolutely amazing. I came in with some trust issues from previous salons but immediately felt confident putting my hair in Kiras hands. I had an amazing experience with Kira Goddard. I asked for a balayage and she went above and beyond to make sure I understood every part of the process and that I walked out confident with my hair. She is incredibly knowledgeable about everything from hair chemistry to placement to appropriate maintenance products. She was always exactly on time and communicated with me over Instagram without compensation. She gave me so much helpful information about which products would work best with my hair (I have very unique hair that holds onto product for a long time) and I will definitely book her again and highly recommend booking with her. Going here was the right decision, I have been to many typical mens haircut places and Ive never gotten quite the right cut. Thats when I went to Dosha, and got an appointment with Kira. Kira, not only got the cut just right, but also suggested others changes that were improvements to what I had originally got.I felt welcome, and the service was friendly and overall a wonderful experience. I called to make an appointment to lighten my roots/toner (pretty standard) and do a haircut. When I came in my stylist, Hannah was immediately really confused. She said she thought was doing an all over color but noticed my hair was already blond (not sure why that would mean I didnt want all over color...) She said people on the phones arent stylists so they dont know... but I was pretty clear about what I wanted. I proceeded to go sit at her chair where she increasingly became more confused by what I thought (and the next stylists at Pure Aveda Salon) was pretty straight forward. She wanted me to show her pictures, so I found some and did. She then told me my hair was already like that and it doesnt seem like you know what you want. All I was trying to do was lighten up on the roots in a feathered fashion and then do toning... it what Ive done multiple times... so I was just annoyed to be honest that she was acting like it was me who didnt know what was going on. I learned later that this is considered all over color due to the toner process and that the people on the phone did actually mark it correctly. Hannah was kind, but didnt seem very... competent. She kept asking me if I was asking for highlights.. then asked me if I was asking to darken the roots. I had no idea where she was pulling these guesses from. She then tried to get me in with another stylist... but I wasnt going to wait around for 3-4 hours and also the rate of the other stylist was VERY high. I gave three stars because I do appreciate Hannah admitting that she didnt know what she was doing, instead of trying to do it and messing things up. I was just confused when she said her specialty was blonding when she didnt seem to grasps what lighting and feathering the roots meant. I was baffled by the lack of competency because I had never experienced that at an Aveda salon before. I walked into an Aveda salon in a small town in wisconsin with the same verbage and explanation and they understood what I was saying and did great work. Hannah said shed love to do my hair but I felt like after the interaction I didnt really trust her and was convinced that I would not use this salon and go somewhere else.I ended up getting in at Pure Aveda salon in Northeast and with no issues the stylist immediately knew what I was asking for and did it successfully. They also charged me 70 dollars less than what the other stylist would have charged me if I would have waited the 4 hours. I hate to leave this review but I found it sort of concerning that this stylist didnt comprehend something very simple. I assume she may be fresh out of school? I thought maybe it was how I was wording it but after my experience at Pure Aveda Salon I realize that thats not the case. BUT- Pure Aveda Salon in Northeast... they are AMAZING!

Shay did an amazing job taking my chopped up hair (from a different salon) and transforming it into what I truly wanted. She took the time and really worked with me to find the best color and formula for my hair. I now have a gorgeous cut and color and have Shay to thank for it!

Dosha is always lovely. The staff are professional and welcoming. The location is nice. My recent two haircuts with Phil were absolutely perfect. He knew exactly what I was asking for in a blunt bob, and how to make it look right for my face. The execution is beautiful. I probably won’t let anyone else cut my hair now!

I got exactly what I wanted and then some! Kira Goddard was amazing, she gave me the exact cut I wanted and after we were done she recommended curly bangs because she felt that it would enhance what was done so far. I was hesitant but she showed me some pictures as reference and she was so knowledgeable, I let her go for it. I could not be more happy with the results! I had a say in what I wanted my hair to look like the whole time, but when I let her take the reins I was still confident and excited about the results. 10/10 will go again in August!

Philip spent years cutting my hair, he was always courteous, kind and attentive. He listened to me drivel on about many things, without batting an eye. If I lived nearer I would definitely make sure he still cut my hair. I doubt hes lost his touch when it comes to styling, anyone visiting will be lucky to have him work on their Do.

There is so much to say about this wonderful place! Mel (manager) she’s the most amazing and understanding person I ever met! I was going through a hair crisis and Mel never gave up on me, results with everything I am very satisfied with my hair! Mel recommended me to have the very best Kira (hairstyles) to work on my hair. Let me tell you guys how such of an amazing job she did to my hair! My hair was horrible it was just full of different colors very dry and dead, Kira literally fixed all of that for me! Literally such an amazing place to get your hair done. I had super damaged hair and had Kira Goddard. I got a hair cut done on Christmas Eve by her and bcs she did such a good job and was so sweet I came back to get my hair dyed. She did exactly what I wanted and came back with healthier hair. 🌻 called and scheduled an appointment for a color melt told them I have thick hair🌻went in to appointment Phil my hair stylist said they didn’t book enough time for that. after. agreeing that maybe bleaching half my hair isn’t what I wanted I asked for highlights (please ask more questions about hair types might help with scheduling conflicts)🌻 I told Phil this was my first ever hair highlight and was nervous because thus far I’ve been using henna- did a testing it was all Gucci🌻 in truth I didn’t know anything about hair that’s why I went here🌻read half a book and loved how the color turned out still wish that the idea I went in with was what I came out with. But those be my people pleaser problems🌻later That night I noticed there are 3 blonde patches but unfortunately they are in the front and visible so I called and guess what they offer a free redoAmazing!!!🌻went in. Took a shower today. The blonde patches are still there don’t think I’ll do this experience again but thanks for the memories 🤓

During Covid of course things are different that being said I never took my mask off but ended up with a bomb hair style and lightening treatment anyway (amazing how she managed this). My natural hair is dark golden brown/Auburn which Id lightened with a box color to a strawberry. Kira, who is such a delight and so knowledgeable and professional (also seemed to be the youngest stylist there?!), not only did an amazing job with me but also did my European best friends hair. Both she and I agreed Kira did work that you could find in a sophisticated London salon. The lightening process was conditioned before, during and after so instead of straw I got silk. Seriously high-end taste, very impressed with her creativity, work ethic and bright energy. I showed her a picture and she nailed it.

Wow!! Celeste is seriously the best. She was attentive, thorough, skilled and so sweet. She gave me probably my favorite hair cut ever, taking me from a shaggy dirty blond to a platinum color and adorable bob cut. The salon was very safe and followed Covid procedures smoothly. I felt cared for and left feeling amazing!

Absolutely horrible, the stylist Kylee didn’t even give me what I wanted. She cut off way more than she said she would. Never going back. Trash experience, no diversity in the pictures what so ever, there’s only light skinned women. Don’t waste your time at this place. Wish I choose someone else for my appointment. Kylee even said it was my fault it was uneven. Cried because of my hair. So thanks for this trashy experience.

I had the absolute best experience at this salon. I went to Shaddie for a consultation after getting horrific color done at a completely separate company and she was so kind and so willing to help. She was friendly and welcoming and although she didn’t have any openings she referred me to Justine who had an appointment the very next day after my consultation. Justine was amazing. She was so kind, listened well, worked quickly yet meticulously, and did everything I asked for. She picked out the perfect color for me, and helped me feel so much better with that beautiful hair color. She’s the total package when looking for a stylist. And during my appointment Shaddie checked in multiple times to make sure I was happy. I left feeling so happy walking out knowing my hair looked awesome!! And before i left I scheduled another appointment with Justine. Awesome experience! Highly recommend!

I scheduled a last minute appointment today to get some balayage done on my hair. Kira did a fantastic job! I showed her 3 pictures of what I wanted and she delivered! It was a perfect combination of all 3 color inspirations that I wanted. I will definitely be going back!!!

Had my brows done by Shayna on Saturday. Not only was she able to match my Auburn hair color well, they still look new several days later! Glad I rescheduled with her-this is going to be such a time saver.Note: It would be helpful for those unable to use stairs to have elevator access to the second floor. Im surprised this isnt available in such a newer building on Hawthorne.

I was surprised when the manager called me and offered me a complimentary re- do due to my dissatisfaction. I went back and experienced the type of service I have had in the past. My complaint was never with the therapist rather the conditions. I appreciate their offer to make it right. Still wish the steam room was functional. I’ll go back!Have been here numerous times and have always enjoyed the experience. This time,disappointed that steam room was out of order. Was looking forward to using it. There were empty massage rooms but I was put in one where I could hear the client and therapist talking and laughing in another room which may have been behind a curtain. When I asked my therapist she explained the room was usually used for couples massages. When I went to pay using a gift certificate I was told I owed a balance since their rates went up. I pushed back since the coupon doesn’t state that nor does it have an expiration date.Not my best visit but I’ll go back.

Tia gave me an edgy yet down to earth experience. Her expertise and mastery as a stylist resulted in a new style for me. I came in with a photograph of my desired look and she delivered. The model in the photo had thicker hair than mine. Tia expertly knew this and whipped my fine hair into the desired hairstyle with her mastery. Definitely coming back!

I had a massage with Ian and it was great! He honed in on the muscles that I told him needed work and used the perfect amount of pressure. The trigger point work was great. And I love the spa. You feel as if youre a million miles away from the hustle of Hawthorne. I left feeling loose and relaxed.

I had a wonderful experience at this location. I purchased the day spa experience. I felt like each service was planned perfectly and I never felt rushed in-between each service. The shower area was lovely and they have everything you need. I will definitely be coming back!

I get my hair cut by Hannah, and I absolutely love her and what she does for my hair. She’s cut my hair shorter, and then helped me grow it out, and then get straight across bangs back. Every time has been awesome, and she’s walked me through what she’s doing. Especially with my bangs, because I get anxious about those. She’s also been phenomenal with recommending products for my hair, and helping me to style my hair at home. I feel very taken care of, and trust her immensely with my hair. I also enjoy getting to catch up with her each time I’m in.I also really love the Hawthorne location, and the staff there is always really kind and helpful. And I always leave with great hair.

I had a massage with Natalia and she saved my camping trip. My shoulder was aching and I was able to get in and see her. She able to get Knot to release. She’s the perfect mix of relaxing and therapeutic. I also love the soaking pool. Will definitely be back.

I have been to this location a few times over the years, as many have said it’s the place to go. Seems like each time it is a little less polished. It didn’t have the total “spa experience” feel. The interior feels a little tired. Almonds on the floor that several employees walked right over them not bothering to pick them up. Water spilled all over countertop and just left there. Loud talking in the massage area. Music from downstairs heard in the quiet waiting area upstairs. This particular visit I was placed in a small back room that appeared to once be a closet; not as appointed as the rest of the rooms. Not a big deal, but it just let a little air out of the balloon, so to speak. Don’t get me wrong, I did come out of there totally relaxed. It is still a lovely spa and I will continue to visit periodically.

I come here for massages and to get my hair colored. Ive never had a bad experience and both Ian and Brooklyn have been phenomenal! I definitely recommend both of them if you need a massage or hair services.

Update: Dosha offered me a redo massage with someone who would do more relaxation and she was excellent - I think her name is Emma.My therapist was nice for sure but she treated it more like a physical therapy appointment even though I was looking for a relaxing massage. She spent a good amount of the time talking and not touching and so I felt like I didnt get nearly close to my full time on the table.

I have difficult hair to cut (very straight and fine). It has been a challenge throughout my life to find someone who can consistently deliver a quality style. Chanse is the human! Ive seen him several times and Ive always been very happy with the end result. Im more of a barber shop and beer type, but Im all salon and tea for as long as hes there :)

I receive a lot of compliments on my hair. I attribute it to Hannah Rose Anderson. She is a great master hair stylist. My curly hair is difficult to style after a color and cut. She diligently worked out the process so I get a great look every time! I highly recommend Hannah!

Not a great location. No parking lot. And if there is any by the buliding it saya 1 hr parking lot. Not alot of time if u have spa sampler package. By the time i found parking lot like 5 blocks away was 10 mins late. Good thing they have 15 min window time. Also keep in my this appt are NONREFUNDABLE!!! Swedish massage was so good. Worked in sour spots in back and neck. Elemebtal nature facial, well lets just say it was not only face, lady messed with my hair like made my hair all over, like why. 😞😲😤 spa pedicure was very good, clean well kept nails file and massage feet.

I love Dosha on Hawthorne. Ive been going there for about a year to get my haircut, and then on a whim during an appointment asked my stylist, Hannah, if shed be willing to do my wedding hair. She immediately was so excited, looked at photos of my dress and helped me decide what would work best for me. She helped me book my day of and trial appointments for both hair and make up, and helped me decide who would be best for my make up artist, who ended up being the so talented and fun, Liz. They made me feel relaxed, listened to my concerns, and did an AMAZING job. My hair and make up held up all day, and I felt so beautiful. I recommended them to a few friends of mine who are getting married soon, and I got so many compliments day of. I have short, fine hair and Hannah made it look like I had lots of thick hair without adding extensions. Liz took my usually natural look and made it look bridal without looking overdone. Love these girls! So grateful for them!

Celeste was the absolute BEST. She starts the haircut off talking to you to get a feel for what you want, she takes the time to relate and understand. She gives one of the best scalp and head massages I have even gotten. I was beyond relaxed and at ease. Such a beautiful person and wants to make her clients feel loved and beautiful!

2 months ago I booked a day spa package for my best friend and I. At the time of booking, I was told that there weren’t 2 makeup artists available to do the full package. And I said, “you are telling me that you can’t get a second makeup artist in with 2 months in advance?” So we had to book separate make up appointment times. Whatever. Then this morning, on our way to our appointment for our spa day, they called 30 minutes before to let us know that a massage therapist had called in sick and so only one of us could get the massage. Obviously that wasn’t a good option for us, so we opted to reschedule just the massage part for 2 weeks later. The services were sub-par, for a lot of them. Overall, it wasn’t the best experience. Parts of it were. Her facial was amazing. Our hair girls were great. My makeup girl was awesome. The rest, meh. Disappointed in our experience for sure.

Emma was great! I enjoyed my session very much! She listened to what I wanted to accomplish in my session and got me there. I don’t mind the coed changing and grooming space but it’s so cramped that my friend and I and the only other person using the space had to dance a bit to get out of each other’s way. I was also surprised that there was not a body lotion provides. Lastly, there was a large bubbling spot on the ceiling that looked a little dangerous to stand under.

I scheduled an appointment for my wife and they didn’t mention their very strict wait policy. If you are even one minute late they will not serve you. There is no way to contact the salon to say we are on our way and to reduce my wife’s work to a simple task that would only take about half the time. The stylist left right after we arrived and refused to serve us.

I absolutely loved this place!! I was given a gift certificate by co-workers months ago and finally decided to use it for a much-needed massage -- so grateful that I did!! I truly cannot say enough how incredibly gracious and welcoming the front desk staff were to me, or how calming, gifted, and just truly lovely the massage therapist, Jon, was throughout the entire appointment. He will have a customer in me for life, that is for certain -- my neck and back pain relief was that significant. I even made an appointment with him for my daughter as I was leaving!

I have seen Amber for waxing and facials since I moved to Portland in 2007. This year, I also had her do a makeup application for me before a special night out. Any service Amber provides is top notch. She is quick and thorough with waxing and is great at helping my unruly brows have a nice shape. Her facials are to die for. So relaxing and leaves my skin feeling and looking great. She has recommended some great skincare products for me too. Aside from her years of experience and expertise as an aesthetician, she is gentle and kind. She goes above and beyond to make every appointment comfortable and to exceed expectations. I highly recommend Amber!

I have been going to Dosha for around 3 years and find it to have the best hair products and services for a reasonable price. After every cut and color Ive walked away satisfied and loving my new look. I highly recommend their services. Hannah is my preferred stylist. She is super talented and works with your own preferences to come up with a look that will work for you.

However I know %100 that anyone at this location will be able to give you what you are looking for. Its a beautiful place, full of lovely people and you will walk out felling like a million bucks!!!! I finally found my color girl! Its been a journey but I found Savanah after 2 years of looking for the right colorist (I do a lot of vibrant colors which can be tough with the Aveda color line). Not only did she give me the exact color I wanted but she even improved it by adding some fun dimension.Go see her if you want vibrant locks without the damage. You wont regret it!

Ive been seeing Brian for just about 4 years now. He was the first stylist to ever get excited about working on my long, very thick hair. He always understands what I want even when I cant really explain and I always walk out feeling beautiful and taken care of.

Thomas ALWAYS does an excellent job - I have been very lucky to have him as my hair guru for a number of years now (at least 5 I think, more?) - sadly he told me he is leaving his position at this location - which is a HUGE loss to this salon. Im so glad we have become friends - he will be missed. As for the salon itself - great location and all of the staff are very friendly. I will definitely continue to go there with the proper recommendation from Thomas as to who I should see. Thomas cut & color work is first rate and whoever does my hair next will have very big shoes to fill. Recommended!!

Kelsey is an amazing massage therapist. She really puts the client first and you can truly tell she loves what she does! 10/10 will come back for another massage

I had a great experience and noticed now a greeter is there to answer product questions and offer a more welcoming atmosphere. Chance is fabulous and takes care to listen and offer expert advice. My hair looks terrific!! I will be returning soon!

I visited Dosha Hawthorne on my Birthday hoping to find an effortless style, and a stylist that could understand and translate my vision. To say that Hannah did this was an understatement. She evaluated my hair type, and style, looked at all of my inspirational pictures, and was the consummate professional! Daily styling is a breeze even as my hair is growing out. LOVED HANNAH...Cant wait for my next appointment!

The Dosha massage is the greatest massage experience anyone can have! Terrill made it fun and soothing. I left feeling invigorated and my skin was the softest its ever been.I also received my first Brazilian here. I was so nervous, but Irene kept me comfortable, and calm.

Relaxing atmosphere at the beautiful Hawthorne location. Large supply of products for sale & professional staff. My masseuse Jon was amazing. Highly recommend. Get to your appointment early & enjoy the spa hot tub upstairs & guest robes & showers.

We could not have been more disappointed in the cut and color. Huge highlight streaks that looked like they were pulled through a swim cap with a crochet needle. Bleached to the point they looked like skunk streaks. The “copper” color was darker than the original hair and did not “lighten up” as the stylist said it would (and which we knew it wouldn’t). I would say you get what you pay for, but in this instance the price was much higher than the quality of work. We will skip all the locations and find a colorist better than this one here who was sold as “the most experienced and qualified.” That is a sad reflection of their workforce.

Dosha is a clean and pleasant space. Open and bright. It is a little pretentious feeling, but I love the stylist who cuts my hair - Doza, so I keep coming back. She is delightfully cheerful, most importantly does a great job, and gives a great massage. I just wish I could get my hair to look as fabulous as she does.

Go to Liz! I went to her for a cut and color. She listens and wants to ensure there is crystal clear communication between you and her. She puts your hairs health as a priority. Her prices are reasonable.

The dressing area is to small. General cleanliness was not very good. I had the spa sampler package and was booked for the very first appointment so no time to use the steam room before or in between services. My last service was a pedicure which it’s recommend to get dressed prior due to you have to walk through the general salon area. So it wasn’t convenient to use the steam after my spa package either unless I was to get undressed again.

I was able to get a last minute haircut and the stylist treated me so well! I was given a hand and scalp massage along with a wonderful shampoo! My hair is glowing and smells wonderful!

Tia is amazing. She listened to my hair needs and my hair goals and she delivered. She also has a great personality and is very professional! Will definitely be going back regularly and keeping her as my stylist.
