Josefina helped me fix one of my biggest insecurities. I’ve always had really bad ingrown hair and discoloration in the bikini area and thought I would have to just live with it. It wasn’t till last summer where I found this place. The first consultation was really helpful and informative. Josefina explained the process and the results to be expected with my specific hair type. She made me very comfortable in something that I was very embarrassed about. During the consultation she gave me a quote and described the specials and discounts she offered. I originally was only gonna get a full bikini but she gave a bundle price for armpits too that I could not pass up.The actual laser appointments were super quick and it nothing compared to getting a Brazilian wax! I’ve been going to her for about a year (when I went back to college during the year I would drive 2 hours from Eugene to come to her) and I’m SO happy with the results. I no longer get ingrown hairs and there’s a dramatic reduction in how much hair that does grow back, they come back thinner and it takes longer for the hair to come back. Most importantly it’s made me so much more comfortable in my own skin! It’s worth the investment and Josefina is so sweet! Highly recommend:)

I have been working with Josefina for over a year and have recommended her services to many people. When I get any modification done to my body, whether waxing, laser, tattooing, even haircuts, I want to feel confident in my practitioner of choice and their place of practice.Josefina is amazing in her field, taking the time to educate me on hair growth, even going into telogen and anagen cycles of the hair follicle, clearly notifying me of any risks, taking my skin type into account, and thoroughly listening to my expectations of the treatments. So, confidence in practitioner? check.Josefinas studio pre-covid was immaculate and calming, with a spa like serenity, snacks and tee, as well as brightly lit. The changes Josefina put into effect for COVID were beyond any other aesthetician I have visited. She installed a sink in the waiting room, so every visitor must wash their hands upon entry. Next, you have a consent form to fill out, again, reinforcing that we are in a pandemic and you need to be educated on the risks. Once this is signed with your sanitized pen, you are ushered into your own room, remaining completely separated from other clientele.As stated, Josefina has always kept a beautifully clean treatment area, but she added disposable sheets, extra wipes in a hands free container. Lastly, Josefina herself has taken the extra step of not only wearing a mask, but full scrubs, gloves, etc . So, confidence in place of practice? check check check.I have now visited Josefina multiple times during the COVID pandemic, and have been confident in my decision to go each time, knowing I am going to someone who is taking my health and the health of our community seriously. She has gone beyond the base level expectations of re-opening during quarantine, and has set an example for what we should all be doing to respect each others health during this time.

My laser experience with Josefina has been so fantastic. I loved that she was very honest about what I should expect from my planned six treatments. Its important to go in knowing that for most of us there will always be a little hair left over. The laser cant get the fine, blonde fuzz or lighter hairs. That said, I still have had better than expected results and highly recommend the service. Its lovely that she lets you pay as you go so you dont have to fork over a huge chunk of change at the beginning. It makes it much more doable to have it spread out over the year.Also, I have to mention that it was pain free! I just put on headphones and relaxed for an hour while the service was done. I never expected laser to be such a mellow experience! Shes also such a lovely and calming presence. She explained the science behind everything to me in detail and was always so warm and friendly.

I visited Josefina on the FIRST day that multnomah county entered phase I. The work her and her team put in to going above and beyond suggested COVID protocol was apparent. As soon as I entered the waiting room, there was a posted sign directing me to wash my hands (in a newly installed sink!), be aware of my surroundings and what I was touching, and to sign a consent form acknowledging the risks of COVID. Knowing that, not only had everyone washed their hands before touching anything, but had also been forced to READ THE DOCUMENT and recognize the severity of the situation made me feel very comfortable. On top of that, you sign your form with a pen that is then put in a SEPARATE bin, which are then cleaned before the next person comes in. Oh, did I mention she created 2 separate areas, so that checking out is now separate from the waiting area? This means you literally are COMPLETELY separated at all times from other patrons, and the waiting room is cleaned in the interim. Disposable sheets were placed on the beds. The room is as spic and span as Josefina always has it, with added precautions of disposable wipes that you do not need to touch the container to grab, the lovely Josefina in scrubs, a mask, and gloves, as well as a requirement to wear a mask for your appointment. Josefina really REALLY is setting the example of how a business should reopen during this time. She always had a high level of sanitation, but she truly out did herself. As someone who works in infectious diseases, I felt confident leaving her studio that I had not encountered an increase in infection risk by going to my appointment. And, as always, my laser treatment was filled with engaging conversation, discussion of future treatments, and time for me to express any concerns or questions.

AMAZING laser results. Truly not an exaggeration. Did two areas at first and results were so fantastic, I committed to legs. Immediate results that have sustained after five or six months. Just two more to go and DONE. Picked up a razor out of habit last week and put it back down. Major time saver! Two super important points... No pain at all. A little zap here and there, but overall very comfortable. And, they wont laser you if you are not a good candidate for it and they dont think youll get good results. Very honest and super accommodating. Also, VERY humorous and just lovely humans. Take a good joke in with you!All in all, worth the investment. Cant explain how much this place changed my life! Josefina is so sweet and great to work with. Ingrowns completely gone after getting laser on bikini and under arms. josefina is a joy to talk with and so gentle throughout the whole process. although i have dark skin and course hair, so not everything was able to be permanently removed, about 80% is gone and main concern was to reduce ingrowns which i was satisfied with.

The best hair removal experience Ive ever had, hands down.Ive tortured myself with electrolysis previously, and watched friends endure painful laser sessions. But my experience at Radiance was almost completely pain-free. Josefina has an excellent pain management routine. I got the most sensitive part of my upper lip zapped, and barely felt a thing.I received six treatments, and after a year Ive had very little regrowth. Whats left is easy to pluck. I started with enough hair, and thick enough hair, that I had to shave regularly. Now I can get ready in the morning without dreading the mirror!

Josephina has made a huge positive difference in my life. I have a light complexion with darkish hair growing on my neck, cheek, lip and chin. My first appointment didnt yield a lot of positive results but she pulled out a few of her tricks and my second appointment made a huge difference. She does everything she can to make the procedure the least unpleasant and honestly their is hardly any discomfort during the treatment. I have had no negative result from the procedure like burning or rashes. But the hair was noticeably reduced after the second treatment. I am feeling very hopeful about this and owe it all to Josephina. She really cares!
