I was so impressed by how the shop owner went out of his way to diagnose the issue of my car, fully explain the options, and in a no-nonsense and honest way. He even recommended I try a few zero cost (potential) solutions to see if it would fix the issue. These guys are great. My A/C never worked in my 95 Porsche 911 (993), and after trying to diagnose and fix the problem myself for the past 5 years, I gave up and brought it to A&P. They were able to diagnose a leak and a broken blend door, and fix it with minimal parts. More importantly Paul the Service Writer, kept me up to date on progress and costs.I do prefer to wrench on my cars, but next time it goes beyond me, Im definitely bringing it back to A&P.

After having and lost faith in my old shop after a decade in PDX, I went on a search for a new place to service my older Audi station wagon, and was happy to find A&P after many phone calls around, and finding them helpful and fair in their explanation of the job and their quoted price, and the only to offer an upgraded water pump, and extended warranty. After trying them out for that relatively small repair and having had a great experience, I decided the next major service that needed to be done would be at A&P.A&P was very thorough in explaining to me what could be done, should be done, and had to be done to keep my ride humming (major service to the timing chain and related areas). Even as I had a tight turnaround and a big job, they were extremely accommodating to my needs and got the job done on time, a small miracle it seemed!Paul and the rest of the team at A&P are wonderful to work with, have amiable demeanor, are thorough, offer fair prices, and above all they make recommendations based on what you actually need done instead of what a by the book repair suggests which will net them the biggest job.Im so happy to have found my shop again, and will be using them for everything I need going forward.

I’ve been taking my cars to A&P for several years now. They helped tune a 914 I had, and then did some serious repair on a boxster I had next, both with great results. More recently I brought my 02 911 in for ims install and a new clutch. The car ran and drove great after that, but after a couple thousand miles the clutch started slipping. I called up Paul and he said bring it back. They were able to replicate the slipping and completely redid the job and added an upgraded clutch to solve the problem. They did this all at no additional cost to me!!!! Alan and Paul are super solid guys and stand behind all the work they do. I highly recommend their shop!

Alan is simply the MAN ! I bought my 1974 914 roughly 4 years ago and have had nothing but problems. I took it into A&P Specialties, Paul took time to call me along the way advising what was looked at and what needed to be done to fix it. After getting it back I have more power than I’ve ever had with it. It has not caused me even ONE issue…I would recommend anyone that is having trouble keeping there Porsche running to call and make an appt.

Before I brought my car here, I used to go to a shop close to where I lived... and when I did, Id experience frequent issues.  Repair times taking longer than anticipated, parts and costs that were not expected at the start of repairs, and often taking my car home only to discover new issues sometimes as soon as the next day.  Check engine lights and other warnings would come on often, and I quickly found myself ignoring them as itd mean Id have to pay a great deal while not having a means to get anywhere.  However, the worry that my car would end up breaking down suddenly and leaving me stranded by the side of the road, or worse, made me look around for another shop to, hopefully, quell these issues.  That led me to taking my car to A&P specialties, and for the first time in a long time, I was able to relax behind the wheel.  Its been months since any warning lights popped on, and now I know where to go next timr I have trouble.  To the people at A&P specialties, thank you for giving me my peace of mind back.

I have nothing but good things to say about the shop and the people that run it! My car isnt nearly as exotic or cool as some of the others in their parking lot (its just a 10-year old VW), but they still do a great job. I have never been to a mechanic that took as much time to explain everything as well as these guys did. They are also very thorough in their work (their pre-purchase inspection was several pages long and detailed what needed to be done in order of urgency, including explanations, prices, and even pictures). A&P has been taking care of my VW for about 5 years (oil changes, maintenance, repairs) and my only regret is that I didn’t find them sooner because it would have saved me 10 years of headaches. This is the best automotive shop I have ever been to, and heres why:- As a woman, I was listened to, respected, and treated fairly. In my experience, this is shockingly difficult to find, and all communication from A & P Specialties was extremely professional and respectful. I worked with Paul, which was an absolute pleasure.- During my initial phone call for a quote for replacing the CV boots (after being told by the Audi dealership that they were cracked), Paul explained to me that cracking is a normal part of wear and tear, and it does not necessarily mean they need to be replaced. He offered to do a complimentary inspection to see if they were damaged before agreeing to replace them. The other shop I got a quote from never mentioned this, but rather encouraged me to have the axles replaced as well before ever looking at my car. With A & P Specialties, I never felt like I was being pressured to pay for unnecessary work to be done.- The mechanic did an inspection of my car, emailed me the results with photos and a detailed estimate, allowed me to look over it on my own, and then had a detailed conversation with me about what work I wanted to move forward with. This process was new to me, and I greatly appreciated having the time and space to consider my options, do more research, and ask questions. It allowed me to be strategic about my decisions rather than having a list of issues rattled off to me on the phone and having to interpret and prioritize them in the moment.- The work was done quickly and I was charged a fair price. Their work is guaranteed for 3 years, and I trust that I received high quality products and service.I highly recommend this shop, especially to other women.

I brought in my A3 in for an engine malfunction light issue. I was impressed with the great communication and thorough diagnosis, including photos emailed to me of all the findings. I ended up getting the timing belt and H20 pump done (which the car was due for), among some other odds and ends, and its running great now. Having access to their loaner car is also a plus. Ill be back here for sure next time the car needs service.

The pros at A&P figured out the braking issue on my B5 S4 that had stumped me for about a year. Also had them do much needed maintenance for the transmission and an alignment for the adjustable suspension. The car shifts smoothly now without the shunt from 2nd to 1st that was happening and it feels like its on rails. Communication was spot on, they took care of the items I wanted and left recommendations for future maintenance.You wont be disappointed with the service and professionalism that Alan, Zeb & Jose deliver. Highly recommend.

I brought my Porsche 911 997 to A and P to see if they could help find an engine noise that I have been trying to track down for a long time. They located it and identified it as the water pump and replaced the faulty parts. They were extremely communicative and helpful during the whole process. And Im really impressed with their professionalism and level of expertise. I highly recommend!

A&P as been my one and only service shop that works on my Porsche and Audi’s that I have had over the past 25 years. Allan is always fair and his staff is knowledgeable. This kind of service is very hard to find.So if you want it fixed once these guys are it !

I brought my A4 in for its 85,000 mile service and because I had a small coolant leak. After diagnostics, I was informed I had a leak from my water pump and my timing chain was bad. I gave him the go ahead on the water pump, because I couldnt afford the timing chain at the time. The next day, the extended warranty we bought for the car showed that the water pump and timing chain were covered! Paul, who has the most patience I have ever seen when dealing with insurance company bs, got them to cover the water pump even though the job was already done. He also got them to cover the timing chain and all that goes with that. You would think that this is what having a warranty is all about, but they made every step very difficult. Paul handled it all with aplomb and got the job done! He was courteous, professional, conscientious, and totally committed to complete customer satisfaction! Thanks, Paul! I will DEFINITELY bring my Audi back for all of my needs!

Absolutely shady service tried to get over on me and charge me an extra $140 for a diagnostics test that they said they werent going to charge me for seeing how I knew what was wrong with my car and what I wanted them to do to it when I came to pick up my car and pay my bill there was the extra $140 fee I had to argue with him and threaten to refuse payment altogether to get him to hold his end of the agreement I would absolutely not recommend a&p specialties to anybody unless I was trying to get them screwed over with terrible service on top of that I spent $700 to have them replace a valve cover gasket Im disgusted post

These gentlemen are always very nice, never patronizing towards a female Porsche owner like me. They don’t push unnecessary repairs. I always bring my Cayman S here for service. We’ve taken our 2008 VW New Beetle to both a local dealer, and to A & P. In every case, we’ve had a better experience at A & P. Paul and Alan are very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional, and the team there has always completed their service without the “surprises” that often come with a visit to the dealer. A&P Specialties took GREAT care of me, and the work that was done was spectacular! To start, Paul is an absolute gentleman. I needed some work done on my 99 A4 that required a part no longer in production. I called around for quotes with five other shops in the area (dealer included), with A&P being the ONLY ONE to call me back. Paul provided me with honest recommendations, transparent pricing, and even treats for my dog! After swapping out my worn twenty year old driveshaft, my Quattro now rides as it should. These guys do excellent work with the utmost integrity. If you live in the Portland area, and have a German car, stop kidding yourself and just take it to A&P.

A&P is the best mechanic service Ive ever had. When I bought my 93 Eurovan, it needed a lot of work.
