We went for drinks after dinner. Great drinks, not overpriced. Atmosphere was chill. The jukebox was a bit loud, but still enjoyed myself with my husband and the crowd watching the football game.

A nice restaurant and bar in a historical part of town. The Bridge Of Sighs can be clearly seen from the outside seating area. Heres an incredible image that shows what this same area looked like back in 1913.

Again, as with other downtown Pittsburgh establishments - classy with all the casual friendliness of your neighborhood restaurant/bar.

It is a good establishment no riff raff. If they do get riff raff it doesnt stay.

I enjoyed my visit and was very pleased with friendly aquintances i should be there soon but tied up locating some lost laundry including haircut and phone mishaps may show yet a always sat irate 9+JB BANANA JOE JR.

Great place to grab a drink downtown, and it usually isnt all that crowded after happy hour wraps up. Its open late, which has been convenient on more than one occasion. Good bar food, as well. The outdoor seating is clutch during the summer. As an added bonus, if you need an attorney for anything, youve got a 90% chance to run into one here.

Came into Mitchell’s after a corporate meeting and the bartender was definitely knowledgeable, friendly and attentive! So glad we made this pit stop :)

A friend and I are here for lunch. Waited 45 minutes to get fed. Another table that came after us ate before us. No apologies for the long delay from our waitress.

Great customer service, however the prices were very high. You could only eat here if you make above minimum wage and were just treating yourself to a day out. Prices could be lowered so others can enjoy their food. They would definitely draw in a crowd as their food is excellent and the staff treats you like family.

Definitely definitely not the same place that I used to go when I was in court. The bar is nothing like it was no food the place is disgrace and I would not even recommend going in to get a cocktail. it was two people at the bar and I had to wait while this young girl was talking to some other people at the other end obviously friends I should have just walked out! The place is trash! Better off going to Sanmmies for corned beef!

Mitchells is a great place to me. Never really too busy. More of a lunch/after work crowd, which means its more of an extremely local crowd. But even if youre new, still a good experience since food is good and reasonably priced (and so are drinks, especially for a downtown venue). Close to courthouse (s), so its a better alternative for jury duty, compared to chains like subway, etc. Owner is cool as hell, too. Give it a shot if youre anything less than a snob, and youll be more than satisfied.

The owner, Jim, is a great guy and always makes you feel welcome. Great Staff too.

I recently had my wedding shower at Mitchell’s Restaurant in their upstairs banquet room. I would 100% recommend others to use Mitchell’s for their next event. We worked with Gina who was extremely nice and professional! They were flexible on the layout of the room, food selection, and bar selection. Also, the cost was very reasonable.On the day of the event the food was delicious, the drinks were great, and Gina was there to make sure everything ran smoothly.Planning a wedding can be challenging, but having our wedding shower at Mitchell’s was a true joy!

In town visiting and being an early riser, decided to find a coffee shop. Stopped in at a local shop across the street paid for parking because hey there lights are on inside so they should be open right? Unfortunately the local coffee shop was closed. Saw the owner to Mitchells straightening up around the building and thought they were open. All I wanted was a cup of coffee and a place to relieve myself. Mitchells was not open at the time but the owner not only allowed me in and made me a cup of coffee. Allowed me to use his restroom and even had a time to sit down and have a conversation with me. Definitely coming back for drinks tonight. If this is how he treats if this is how he treats the common man on the street, I can only imagine how well he treats his customers.

Was here for a wedding reception last year. The food , drinks, and atmosphere were great, and having the windows open between the outdoor seating and the bar area let us enjoy the beautiful weather, which is not something you always get to do at a wedding.Definitely one of the more fun events Ive attended. This was a much better venue than a hotel ballroom or plain old banquet hall.

Sit downstairs for a bit of the bar scene, or go upstairs for a quiet view of the surrounding area. Oh, and have the meatloaf. Its a treat thats hard to beat.

Cool place to hangout and have a few beers. The only thing that would deter me from going back would be the bartender that we had... she was pretty rude all night and then around closing time she started to tell everyone that they need to get the f**k out, which is not a common thing where I’m from, maybe it is in Pittsburgh. She was also very antsy, she seemed like she was on drugs. Other than that I had a great time there.

Good food was shocked that the management instructed my waitress that she was not allowed to put lemon s in refills of ice tea. Never came across that policy in any other resturant. I guess at $1.98 for 6 Oz of tea in a glass full of ice there is not enough of a profit margin. Suggest you get the water, apparently it comes with lemon.

Mitchells has really good food, especially the burgers, and makes a great lunch location for downtown. They have daily specials that you can check online, and lots of comfortable seating and fast service.

Sssooo bad. Fish sandwich was terrible. Very very greasy. Even the ketchup tasted greasy. Staleness in the air is unavoidable. Its sad because everyone use to say this place had the best fish sandwich. Well, my friends, that is no longer the case.

Didnt get service right away. Couldnt get bar tender to bring drinks to keep coming. Enjoyed the atmosphere.

Havent had the food (yet) but the beer selection is refreshing and varied, the drink specials catch my attention, and the staff is 10/10.

Its location is great for a take out lunch being close to my work. Recently they changed the menu, which I believe was due to a new chef. The menu is smaller and I really miss the lighter choices for lunch, which were the wraps that were removed with the new menu. Have tried a few of the items on the new menu, best one being the Mitchburger. I also recently tried the Balsamic Chicken sandwich - which sounds tasty on the menu description, but was drowned in balsamic - perhaps to try and compensate for the dryness of the chicken and the huge ciabatta bread they put it on. I give big props to restaurants who do fresh cut fries instead of frozen fries...but the only thing that seems consistent with their food is the sogginess of the fries. A soggy fry is a sad fry. In fact, it probably shouldnt even be called a fry. Not sure if they are cooking too many at once, or they are not doing a second drop on the fries at a higher temperature...but that definitely needs addressed. Im not saying I will be cutting Mitchells out of my lunch rotation, but its going to be awhile till I return.

This resturant has petty policies. I would go there for tuna melts. They had the glass ketchup bottles so instead of spending an hour trying to get ketchup I would ask for ketchup packets. One day I did this I was told to never come back. In an African American women so who knows what the real reasoning that I was no longer welcomed there

Shrimp and rice soup was outstanding and the reuben panini was very good as was the service.

Here is another place that wants to continually reduce portion sizes and quality all the while continuing to expect customers to wait and pay ever rising cost. In six months of going here Ive seen my order go from being full after eating to having to go somewhere else now to get something else to eat. Not to mention that the food for take out is cold, guess they figure we can just microwave it once we get back to our office. Guess I just need to start packing a lunch.
