I havent lived here long but I am rethinking my decision to move here. When walking to my apartment tonight I saw the biggest coach I have ever seen on the sidewalk. Am I really paying $1300 a month for this? And the pictures online show a movie theater that no one here has ever seen. The exercise equipment is not working and neighbors were locked out of the laundry room this week. Its not the worst place to live ...but for $1300 you should expect more.

The new office staff do not return letters, calls, or any type of communication. The price changes every two seconds and they fail to give an explanation as to why. They are also very dismissive when having a conversation about the issue. There is a lack of consistency and respect. Not sure if they realize they are in customer relations.

Managers do not return your call and some neighbors are running daycares in their apts. Neighbors use the courtyard as a playground, until late hours. Its like a flophouse here. Neighbors move multiple people into their apts and the noise level is out of control. A one bedroom apt is $1100 and youre definitely not going to get any peace here. People prop open the gates and drug dealers, addicts, and homeless people wander in.

I have lived at Zazu’s for a short time but I have to say the process from the tour, to the application and then moving in was the easiest, most convenient and uplifting experience I ever have had! Mike and Cheryl are absolutely amazing! The two of them together did EVERYTHING they could to make me feel right at home and the transaction go smoothly. They are a huge asset to your company and by far the reason I moved in.Thank you Cheryl and Mike you two make the best team ever!

ZaZu May have had issues in the past, but for me after two weeks it has been amazing... right in the beginning Cris Valadez was a amazing person to work with... she was super helpful through my whole process and does so much already to help keep the community in order... she is one of the reasons I came here to ZaZu and one of the reasons I’ll stay. I can’t thank Cris enough for the experience I have had here thus far and although not all apartment complexes are perfect... ZaZu really isn’t a bad place to be currently. Has some very nice beautiful layouts for a reasonable price, and stays pretty clean and quiet...Cris and Amanda are certainly doing their best with what they have... and doing a great job in my opinion...

I just moved here 11/29/2019 and it was the biggest mistake , If i can stop anyone from moving here I will. First my apartment was half way cleaned upon move in date, the dishwasher had food in it. The drawers in the bathroom were dirty( i cleaned the myself). The microwave did not work, and the last part is the worse. THERE ARE ROACHES, they claim they have pest control but they are still here ive had to take matters into my own hands and get my own pest control. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I didnt listen to the previous reviews and i regret it.

My wife and I are three-year residents of Zazu Pannee and though things started off wonderful, since new ownership and management came in the complex has slowly gotten progressively worse. To be fair, new management did clean up some of the landscaping, which was overgrown, they also worked to make small improvements here and there (including new pool furniture). But, overall, things are on a downward trend.Examples:1. Many utilities used to be included in rent, including Internet access. When new ownership came in they itemized many utilities, took out community WiFi and tried increasing our rent more than $150/month. In total, including purchasing our own Internet, our monthly expenses wouldve gone up about $250 for a two-bedroom apartment. After writing a letter to the new owners they shaved off about $75 in rent.2. When our two-bedroom lease was up last month, my wife and I decided to stay in the complex, but move to a smaller unit. We did this because it was easier and were not planning on staying in the area much longer. They eventually found a unit for us, but only after a new round of credit checks and a new security deposit. Our new rent is about $1000/month for a one-bedroom apartment.3. After a week of living in the smaller apartment with found a bed bug. We immediately took it to the office and asked for treatment. An inspection was scheduled for Monday with treatment on that Wednesday. If youve never had bed bugs, I can say that they are a MAJOR pain in the butt. To properly treat an infestation you basically have to pack up many of your things and turn your life upside down for two weeks. So, about a week after unpacking and moving in, we essentially had to repack all of our things. Treatment for bugs takes about an hour and you cannot re-enter the dwelling for four hours after treatment. We were not given a time for treatment, only a day. We assumed it would happen during hours that made it possible for us to return shortly after work ( 5 p.m.). I took a day off of work that day to make sure everything was taken care of when the exterminator arrived. After calling the office, I was told hed be there at 1. Great, that means we could be back in our place by 5 p.m.Our apartment wasnt treated until 5 p.m., preventing us from re-entering until 9 p.m. that night. If communication was better I couldve worked a normal day.Additionally, I told some of our neighbors about the issue in case the bugs migrated to (or from) their apartments. It was the first theyd heard about the bugs as management never shared the information. Were not the only residents complaining of bed bugs.4. The water in our new apartment has been turned off several times WITHOUT notice. Imagine getting up for work in the morning, stepping in the shower and having NO water or only cold water. This has happened at least three times in the past month. I understand the buildings and plumbing are aging, but at the very least residents should be told if/when water will be turned off.5. Community washers and dryers are constantly out of order. As of 10-20-2019, more than half of the washers in one laundromat have been broken for about two weeks.6. The Workout Center, is currently closed because of a carbon monoxide leak. When it IS open many of the machines are either broken or missing parts. The community manager is impossible to contact directly and during our bed bug complain she basically told us to buzz of (via a text w/one of the leasing agents). VERY unprofessional. Apparently she cant be bothered to properly manage a community.I feel horrible for the folks who man the front office. Im sure theyre dealing with multiple issues from residents. Either theyre not given the latitude to independently solve the issues OR theyre understaffed OR theyre, at worst, incompetent.EDIT: A new management team has been brought it (Feb. 2020) and so far they seem more with it. However, I am not renewing my lease.

When relocating to the Phoenix area, we needed a temporary place to stay while looking for a more permanent lease. We stayed at Zazu Pannee for one month; it was great! Cable and internet included, furnished and had some pots and pans. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The only issue we had was one night the AC stopped working, but we sent and email and they were there to fix it the next morning. The outdoor grills are great and convenient and the pools were refreshing and never crowded. The other residents at Zazu Pannee would always greet you with a hello and smile. The gated community made us feel safe, being in a new area and not knowing it all that well. I would recommend this place to anyone looking in the Phoenix area.

I lived here for two years and left a little over a year ago due to the opportunity of a lifetime (to work out of state and then come back to rent a home), and I will say it was extremely hard to leave this community. Ive never enjoyed apartment living, especially with my medium sized dog (I prefer having a private yard for her), but Zazu was not only beautiful, accommodating to pet owners/lovers, the staff was also friendly and always on top of any issues that were brought to their attention. The amenities, including the always clean pools and laundry rooms, a gym, and a movie theater as well as all utilities included save for APS were just an added bonus to living in this gorgeous community!Recently my amazing opportunity to rent out a home in the same area has fallen through last minute and during my lease, so Im in the market for renting out a new home and I am HIGHLY considering coming back to Zazu! I have so many incredible memories there and would be delighted to create even more to come!

The bones of the buildings are older, but the apartments have been renovated nicely (recessed lighting/new tile/new drywall... ) Although the style is not for everyone, the older bones means sturdy construction/noise insulation/character. The extras are a huge draw...they just upgraded the free internet service to wireless. Theres a free gym and 2 nice (heated) pools. The residents are all friendly and watch out for each other. The office and maintenance staff are great! Very helpful.

Being frequent Phoenix visitors my husband and I love and usually stay at the Westin Villas in North Scottsdale. This time around we needed to be closer to the Phoenix downtown area for a medical reason. One of the staff at the Villas recommended Zazu. Its a smaller operation with a very similar quality accommodation at a lower price. The Staff is friendly and the apartment was very clean and comfortable, with the money we were saving we opted for an apartment with their best upgrades which included our personal laundry. The property is completely gated we feel very safe. Its not as fancy as the Westin, but definitely not as expensive and we would highly recommend staying here.

I just spent about 100 days here as part of a relocation. This place is eclectic and funky, and I mean that in the best way possible. It is homey, and clean, and green, and quiet, and there are a ton of dogs. There is an arty vibe that I cant quite put my finger on (other than the giant stage in the common area). The staff was very helpful with every concern I had, and I just received a full refund of my deposit a week after moving out. There is a sweet coffee room to get your fix on the go. The laundry rooms are clean, functional, high tech, and cheap. Didnt use the pools but they looked nice. A ton of movie channels, internet was pretty good. There is an awesome dive bar (Rips) and a great pescaderia right down the road.If you are looking for something a bit different, this is the place!

I heard about Zazu Pannee from a friend and Im glad I decided to lodge there. My one month stay in Zazu/ Phoenix is over and I had a lovely time. Looking back, I can say Zazu was almost like home. Almost because my family was not there with me else I would definitely be fully at home at Zazu. The scenery and ambiance is very colorful, relaxing and welcoming. I love the location as it is provides easy access for shopping, banking etc with a clinic opposite (in case of emergencies). It just seems to be in the center of everywhere I want to be.Zazu is structured in a way to accommodate people who crave privacy, peace and quiet (the bungalows) as well as those who want to have people around. The passage gates aid accessibility to and from Zazu. The apartments are well furnished and all you need to bring is yourself and your personal stuff. All the facilities worked very fine and I never had to complain about them. They also provide a high speed Internet and free cox cable. The Wifi did not work while I was there but there were plans to get that sorted before I left. There is a central laundry room with intelligent laundry systems that notify you when your laundrys done, a coffee room, a cute beach area near the swimming pool, a gym, a video room e.t.c.The best thing about Zazu is the staff and residents. Eric and Melanie were always so pleasant and willing to help. They always went the extra mile to ensure Zazu was home. The residents I met were friendly without being nosy or choking. You would definitely like Zazu if you are a dog lover as almost everyone seems to have a dog or a pet. When my stay was over, we had a preliminary walk-through and handover before I left. True to their word, my deposit was returned.I enjoyed my one month stay in Zazu and if Im ever in Phoenix for a month or more, Ill definitely Zazu. It is home away from home

My dog loved it and made lots of doggie friends she missed them definately. For the most part its a small town community. The people they definitely care and it made a big difference. I was here 15 months but got a really great new job and the commute was too much. It was expensive to get out of my lease. Perfect? No It wasnt everything like I wanted but for the price was a good deal. I would have stayed but the drive. Good luck everyone.

At this point, I can only give Zazu Pannee one star! My experience started with an airbnb long-term reservation of 56 nights! We were scheduled to arrive on 4/5/17, but called Zazu and told them that we were not going to be able to make it until 4/6/17. They said that it was fine, but that we would still be charged for that first night, which we expected. We knew we would arrive after 5:30 PM, so we made arrangements for our adult son, that lives in the area to go and get our key for us. He went and checked in to the unit. He immediately called us and warned that it had a very strong chemical smell, since he knows that strong smells and tobacco smoke are triggers for migraine headaches for me. I called Zazu and asked them to please air out the unit by opening windows and turning on ceiling fans. They agreed to do this at about 2:00 PM. We arrived that night at 11:30 PM, and the smell was still very strong. Within minutes, our eyes were burning and watering. My husbands throat started to itch, which is a typical reaction to cat dander. Regardless of the cause, it became apparent that we could not sleep in this place!! We tried to access Hotel Tonight to find a hotel for the night. We logged into the wifi, to use the internet, but couldnt keep a connection. Even our phone calls kept dropping. We decided to lock up the unit and sit out in the car to make hotel reservations. We stayed in the hotel that night, and called airbnb the very next morning to find out what our options were. We were told that we did the right thing by contacting airbnb within 24 hours of check-in to REPORT AN ISSUE. They recommended that we try to resolve the issue by trying another unit. We were fine with that because we LOVED the location and the price was right! We wanted Zazu to work out!!I went back to Zazu to check out another unit. It was being cleaned, and it didnt have that overpowering chemical smell in it, so I thought it would work! The Zazu rep, showing me the unit, took a phone call and within a few minutes, waiting for him, my eyes started to burn and water again!! I called my husband, and he said there is no way we can stay there. He is very allergic to cat dander and felt certain that that was what was bothering us. Regardless, it became apparent that we were going to have to find an alternate airbnb property for the next 56 nights! When I was 20 minutes away from coming to view an alternate unit, I called to make sure Eric was going to be there, and was told that both Matt and Eric were there. When I got there at exactly 4PM, (when I told them I would be arriving), I was told that he just left for the day and wasnt available for the entire weekend! Matt connected me to Eric via conference call, and I let him know that the alternate unit was not going to work! Eric said that we would have to wait until Monday to proceed further. On Monday, I received a call from airbnb, they had just spoken to Eric, and they told me that Zazu couldt do anything until I returned the key to the original unit! I left immediately to return the key, and called Zazu on the way. Eric answered the phone and I told him I was 9 minutes away and was coming to return the key. He said I have to leave for a lunch appointment in 2 minutes, and that he couldnt wait 7 minutes for me to arrive!Airbnb has been great thus far, they reimbursed the Hotel Tonight expense and issued a $50 coupon towards a new unit and sent us links to other airbnb units. I still have not been able to secure a refund on the Zazu unit because no one has been able to communicate with Eric to resolve the issue.I am waiting to hear back from Zazu, and hope they step up and rectify this situation. In which case, I will update my review. From reading other reviews, apparently we are not the only ones that have had SMELL issues & COMMUNICATION issues with Eric/Zazu.RENTER BEWARE!!!!!!!

They had poor customer services. The apartment was not clean at all. There were bugs in the apartment. The sinks were clogged up and over flowing. I couldnt walk around the floor without my feet getting black. They charged me $425 because my girlfriend visited me and had her 9 week year old puppy by the pool. The counters were dirty. The dishwasher didnt work. They came into my apartment while I was gone. The apartment is overrated for $2,000 per month and they charge extra just to wash your clothes. They say the movie theater closes at midnight, but I went at 8 pm multiple times and couldnt get in. They knock on my door at all times throughout the day. They showed me a model apartment that didnt look the same as it did when I got it. Then I posted this review and they threatened to kick me out if I didnt take it down. So now that I moved Im going to repost it. I would not recommend this place at all.

I lived here 4 years ago then moved to LA and am back 6 months as my Mom got sick and I needed to be closer to her. The Zazu apartments include all the internet and cox tv. I like not having to buy those + everythings settled in since I went to LA especially a new starbucks opening on Osborn at 7 St. It feels like I never left. I checked out a couple of other rentals and between the sales person talk and what the apartments are really like is canyon size. A couple who I lived near are still here- we lost touch when I moved but got talking like nothing passed. They said the owners had a hard time with some bank but that’s over and it didn’t change anything except it seems like the office staff is working harder and is even more friendly now. The place is better than when I left. Then we only got 100 TV channels and now we get 200 and it’s FREE! I’m addicted to my shows and its FREE did i say its free?. What can I say I have to have my shows on hbo and the sports pak + i get the whole encore and movie package FREE. Check it out. Oh yeh the beach is cool.
