We lived in the Hawthorne for a year! We only moved out because we bought a home, otherwise we would have stayed much longer if we decided to keep renting! We loved everything about this community. The management is awesome(shout out to Max and Yolanda) and maintenance was always on top of any work orders we put through! I was terrified to see our moveout costs because past apartments always gouge you at the end. We almost got our full deposit back! (minus carpet cleaning). Never saw a single pest and the grounds are kept pretty clean. Dont hesitate about living here. Its the best bang for your buck!

This is one of the greatest places to live in the city. Max and Yolanda in the office are always very friendly and professional when I go in. The apartment is super spacious and has all the amenities that you would want in a house. Ive been in Phoenix 8 years and living at The Hawthorne was the best choice Ive made. The neighbors are wonderful as well. Its near the light rail and there are several places to go within walking distance. I GENUINELY LOVE IT HERE..

I have been here since Sept of 2020 and can say its a wonderful place! Max and Yolanda are TOP NOTCH staff, always helpful, and its been a great experience. They always go the extra mile to help, we have monthly activities, and I feel very welcomed and happy. The area is quiet and my neighbors are good too. Highly recommend Hawthorne!!! :-)

We have been living here for almost 3 years and we wont be renewing our lease. Very noisy place and they do nothing about it. Thank God I rent from a private owner and he is very nice plus half the time the pools are closed plus the weight room and people here have no respect for their neighbors. And the office does nothing . So we wont be referring anyone to this place .

Have had stuff stolen out of my trunk and had a 5 gallon water jug stolen from my front door

I have lived at Hawthorne since March 2016. Great place to live, management is top notch. Max and Yolanda in the office are always extremely helpful, professional and friendly. We are moving out but only cause its come a time in our lives to relocate to a 55 plus community. I will definitely miss living here and especially miss all the staff at Hawthorne. They also have a great maintenance team always readily available to take care of any issues you have.

I been here Two months, and once my lease is up Im moving out. when I moved in walls were not painted/clean microwave was broken they added glue to fix and made it worse, Tub was old and dirty they came in added paint but still not clean. and after 2 months already have roaches this place is not worth my 1300 for a one bedrm and its not even the apartment i choose when i seen them.

Had a great experience. We were looking for a nice, clean, spacious apartment in the up town Phoenix area. When we started looking last week, the number of complexes that were closed, didnt answer the phone or wouldnt provide information, it was astounding. The Hawthorne was open and friendly, we were able to look at a actual apartment, we were so impressed we took it. We knew today we made the right decision when Max and Youlanda invited us to a free to go breakfast event the complex was having. I think we made the right choice!

Hawthornes Management is awesome to work with. We have had no issues. Hawthorne gives off a resort style vibe. Beautiful property. The landscaping is green and lush with big overgrown trees throughout the property. There are two pools and many other great amenities.

Hawthornes have been great Maxwell and his office staff have been very professional and very helpful ( Thank you for being so good to us) Maintenance crew has been great as well always very helpful. Only leaving here as we have purchased a home in a 55 and older community. We will miss you. Thank you again for making our stay wonderful.

If youre cool with xenophobia, then this is the place for you! If I could give 0 stars I would. I went to Hawthorne today to look at apartments. I met with one of the leasing agents, so that she could take down my information for a self-guided tour. She asks for my name, and I give her the spelling (since my name is a non-English name, and not common in the West at all). She proceeds to pause, look up, roll her eyes, and laugh in my face. This is inexcusable. I was irate, but I kept my cool. Such a great job attracting potential tenants. STAY FAR AWAY! If this woman could be this disrespectful just on a 5 minute meeting, imagine how she would treat you once youre a tenant. Hawthorne will NEVER get a dime from me.

I was a former resident at the Hawthorne and one of my packages accidentally got shipped to my old address at the apartment complex, I contacted the front office and they immediately helped me track it down and contacted the current resident who subsequently returned the package. When choosing an apartment I consider the quality of the office staff a key factor and the people working at the Hawthorne are just top notch. Together with the great location and the wonderful facilities make the Hawthorne an ideal place in the Metro Phoenix area!

The WORST place I’ve ever lived.

Ive lived here many years. I love the place frankly. Management is super responsive to our needs, maintenance is prompt and professional. The management staff is awesome to work with and super nice (Not one single jerk in the bunch). I know my neighbors, its kid friendly, quiet, great location. I moved my senior citizen --90 years old , and its a great fit for an active senior also.

Ive lived at Hawthorne two years and I love it here. Its clean, quiet, and secure with nice amenities. The front office has been super responsive to any work requests or issues. No complaints at all!

Private Community with security patrolling 24/7 great quiet place

My wife and I have lived at the Hawthorne Apartments for a few years now and its been really great. The location is excellent, the common areas are nice and well maintained, and the staff is wonderful.

This apartment property was safe and quiet, but lately there are new neighbors who do not respect the privacy of others, they spend smoking marijuana inside and outside the apartment, and with high music, these apartments are no longer safe. there is no policy that is complied with to maintain tranquility and respect,

We were looking forward to moving in and thought we found the perfect apartment. It only took a few months to figure out we were wrong. The staff does not stick to the specified time slot to fix issues in the apartment. The people who are supposed to be walking the grounds sit at the pool and watch TV all night. The lights that are supposed to make light your way at night no longer work for the most part and it takes them months to fix the smallest of issues around the complex. If the complex floods during monsoon season even a little the power goes out and stays out for at least a day. We had to miss work because our front door wasnt previously fixed correctly and they didnt consider it an emergency, it wouldnt close. The master bathtub needed to be fixed, it took them two attempts for them to fix it both times we did everything we were told and still it remains not fixed. Instead the company they hired fixed the wrong tub making it so the safety patches on the bottom are now permanent. We cant keep vacating the apartment for this to be done so they will have to wait until we move. Do not move here it is not worth the prices they are demanding and the inconveniences they have. Not to mention the crime in this complex, because the gates are broken every other week.

Lived her for over a year. Do not move here. Huge pest control issues. Roaches, fly infestation. No matter how clean you keep your apartment, management fails to keep proper health standards. Pay the extra 100 to 200 across the street for brand new. This place is a disaster. If this place did not have condos and an HOA amongst the apartments, they would have torn them down and built something decent. No thanks.

College student rooming in a three bedroom apt. Couldnt ask for more, especially with how expensive prices can be downtown!

Kirsten Johnson was misinformed. The unit above hers is privately owned but rented out through a private rental agency. The problem with the leak occurred during a time that we were out of the country on a holiday and we made every attempt to have someone available to let the plumbers/workers in to the unit to address their issue. Complex management did not do the same for us to have issues that needed to be fixed done before they closed up the ceiling and there is a good chance that the leak is not 100% fixed, but it is on them for ignoring months of attempts to get into their unit and ensure it was fixed. We were NOT going to permit the rental agency to put a lock box on our unit while we were away for the holidays, sorry-not-sorry, we were available a week before and several weeks after our trip and no one did a thing during that time period.Also, this complex has a very bad infestation of Biting Midges, No-See-Ums/Sand Flies, and they are relentless! Very active at night and surge when the weather warms up. Lots of sleepless nights. Its a horrible experience because you cant even see them but you feel them. Not a good place to live. The other residents, some at least, are VERY loud at the pool and inconsiderate late at night.

Moving in was a nightmare, but to be fair that was before Weidner took over so we wont go into it. For the past 3 days weve had large holes in our bathroom ceiling because of a leak from the apartment before us. What has Weidner done? Made the holes bigger. Something that directly impacts our daily lives. The maintenance people are great, dont get me wrong. But, Ive asked for the manager and keep getting put off onto someone else. Finally to be told the person above us is aware of the problem and they own their condo so the management office cant do anything. That sounds great for the person above us, but what about us? Nope. And no timeline as to when the holes will be fixed. Not even a sorry about this.

I would not recommend these apartments to anyone. From the hassle we went through just to sign the lease, to just now being locked INSIDE our apartment for 30 minutes because the top lock was broken, none of it has been worth the price. Everything is old and worn out. There are paint drippings on everything from whoever painted last. It honestly was like the apartment hadnt been cleaned in years when we moved in. No matter how many times I put in a maintenance request, the dish washer still fills with disgusting, stinky brown water after use. The toilet has leaked from the back several times, and Ive put in a maintenance request for that before as well. I cannot believe I was trapped inside my apartment because the lock was so old and worn out.... honestly thank God we had a screw driver to remove the first piece, but even after that it was a struggle to get the piece keeping it locked out. Once we removed it, we noticed there was a crack in the lock that was stopping it from working properly. Im so tired of Hawthorne.

I really enjoyed staying at Hawthorne. What made the experience great was the staff, that is no longer there: Daisy and Lauren(?). I found the community to be quiet, safe and very clean. The stray cats were a pain because the motel tenants behind Hawthorne feed them. The new office manager tried to charge me for things at the end that were not applicable, but he offered to take them off.I was very pleased with the maintenance staff; those guys are great! Work orders completed within a day or two. I did have an issue with my AC going out twice upon move in during the summer, but they took care of it. Its a good area of central Phoenix. Best apartments that Ive lived in here in the Valley.*The worst part about living in this area was having to use APS for electricity. APS is every negative word that I could think of. APS IS HORRIBLE! Prefer to use SRP for electricity.Its unfortunate that Ive seen so many negative reviews for other sister properties, under the Weidner Management.Ive also considered moving back here, but the exact 1br/1ba that I lived in has gone up $320.00 Nonetheless, I recommend!
