Told me they could fix my transmission for $3200. They wouldn’t tell me what was wrong. Then a tech asked me if I wanted to sell my truck for scrap. I told them no not a truck with 92k miles I’ll fix it myself. I pulled the transmission and took it to Certified and they fixed it for $270. I installed the transmission back in in 5 hours. All is good now.DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH OMAHA TRANSMISSION! ! ! !

Within the time of my car being there, they kept me updated on the transmission replacement on my IS 250, ran into a problem, and still managed to fix it and getter done utilizing everything they had. I see why this shop has the rating they have and it’s a well deserved rating. These guys are awesome! I took the car in to have the transmission rebuilt and they did it in a timely manner. After picking the car up, I noticed something wasn’t quit right and thought it might be related to the repair so I took it back. They spent the better part of a day going over their work and chasing down the problem. It ended up being ignition related, which I had noticed beforehand but figured it was part of the transmission problems. The staff brought me into the bay, showed me the parts and exactly what was going on. They fixed the problem and didn’t charge me a penny for something that would have cost hundreds of dollars to fix! Have had the car back for a week now and it’s running better than it ever has.The staff was so nice to deal with and they bent over backwards to make sure I was taken care of. Took it back, they discovered a small tear in an axle boot, kept it overnight, replaced the axle (at no charge👍😁)and had it back to me the next day. Outstanding service all around. I called and asked for an estimate to replace the rear differential on my 2016 Cadillac ATS. Cadillac had already told me what was what was wrong with my car, which is out of warranty. Omaha Transmission called back and said that they did not want to do the work. They said they were too busy. While they are well within their rights to turn down work, doing so warrants a poor review in my opinion. So, here it is.Thank you for responding. Of note, the phone calls were all very professional on both ends (yours and mine) so I have no complaints there. I was just very surprised that you didnt want to at least quote a job that seems clearly in your specialty. Unfortunately, I have had to commit to having it fixed by another shop. However, judging by your online presence and google ratings, you would likely do a better job, hence, my disappointment. It was probably just a misunderstanding so Ill give you a couple more stars.Thank you for the call explaining the misunderstanding and why your techs didnt feel comfortable doing the work on my car due to its unusual mechanics. You seem very ethical and competent. In this world, thats probably worth 5 stars on Google.

I recently Took my 2000 Dodge 2500 to nick and his crew with some shifting issues that we both thought was an electrical issue. He went and actually diagnosed the issue instead of just replacing parts and hoping that would fix the problem. Every time something didnt work he would call me and tell me what his next plan of attack was. After 3 weeks of trying different things and none of them fully fixing the issue nick didnt give up and tell me he could fix it, he stuck with it and decided to remove the pan. Doing that determined that the electrical issues I did have and he fixed were covering up the fact that the transmission was bad. He apologized for not finding it sooner when it wasnt his fault. so he then gave me a quote on a transmission rebuild he was the lowest bid with the upgraded parts that I wanted. he even gave me a discount on some special parts I wanted installed in the transmission. overall I cant express enough how impressed I was with his people skills and his honesty and dependability of his shop and employees. I will not take my vehicles anywhere else for transmission work. I just want to say thank you to nick and his employees for all of their hard work and dedication that they had on my truck. Thank you

I brought my minivan in with a severe transmission leak. I was worried because I replacing or rebuilding my vans transmission would run $4-5,000. James and his crew took good care of me and listened to my concerns. They proposed a solution, gave me an estimate, and the next week they called me in to the shop. They insisted on giving it a final test drive, and luckily they found an issue with shifting to third gear and reassured me it would be fixed. There was a 50% chance it was a solenoid, and 50% chance it was a replaced valve that got stuck. To make a long story short, they took the entire transmission apart and reviewed the valve - on their own dime - to prevent me having to buy an uneccessary yet expensive $400 part. The valve wasnt the issue, so they made more phone calls and found the solenoid I needed at a discount. After they installed it and put everything back together, they took it for a test drive and it worked better than before, with very smooth shifting to all gears. Although I paid for a rental vehicle, my van wasnt their problem originally, but they made it their problem and priority. They listened to my concerns, called me almost daily with an update, spent many shop hours at their expense to try to save me money, James even drove me to the car rental shop, and they all made sure I walked away with a GREAT experience and a van than works better than before I brought it in! Certainly not the only game in town, but perhaps the best. I took these guys a 1987 military truck with a transmission that wouldnt shift. This truck was made before onboard computer systems and needed to be diagnosed the old way. They were able to determine a few reasons why the vehicle wasnt shifting right, to include a bad vacuum pump, and they got it working again. Unfortunately, for me, something plastic had disintegrated in the transmission and ended up requiring a complete rebuild. I asked the business to replace the rear main seal on my truck which you have to remove the flex plate right next to my starter. The business said they didnt remove or notice the starter being loose at all. Hard to understand not noticing my starter or removing it but it falls out because two bolts are missing and the other was loose. Instead of being a business the managers he want to blame customer and then say that I scratched their counter at a transmission shop. Need I remind you the manager has been gone for two weeks on a fishing trip but I scratched his counter. Which hard to believe when old starter is in a box. I asked you to call the cops while I was there so they could get both sides of the story and need I remind Nick that James told you twice to get behind the counter and out of my face. If you have a transmission issue, Omaha Transmission is hands-down the best place to go. They offer exemplary customer service, fix what needs to be repaired without trying to add in unnecessary extras, and complete the work in a timely fashion at a very reasonable price. I have utilized their services for two different vehicles and have been extremely pleased both times. The first time was a few years ago for a solenoid valve issue, which they promptly fixed.Recently I took my 03 Durango to a different transmission shop first simply because it was closer (foolish me) and was told that in addition to the transmission I also needed to replace both the front and rear differential (the manager made it sound very dire). I felt uneasy and subsequently took it to Omaha Transmission (actually they towed it from the first place for free since I had the repair done there, which was extremely helpful); they promptly told me it was just the transmission and that the other shop was unfortunately trying to take advantage of my situation. They offered me a comparable warranty as the first place and the price was about five hundred less than the other shop quoted me for the same repair (plus they saved me the additional money I would have paid for the nonexistent differential problem). The vehicle is now running like a dream. I recommend them to anyone!

My experience with Omaha Transmission was a total fiasco. Not only will I never go back, I would never recommend them to anyone.

This was the third place we took our 2004 Odyssey and, it turns out, the only one with the expertise we needed. The first said the problem was electrical but couldnt find it, and the second (dealer) told us we needed a new transmission and PCM at an exorbitant price. Nick and the crew at Omaha Transmission correctly diagnosed the problem as not being the PCM, and actually found the electrical problem, a severed wire. So, thanks to their honesty and expertise, we did not have to replace the transmission or PCM. They fixed the small problem and charged us only for their labor. Thanks Omaha Transmission!

I got a quote for just over 900 labor from the owner Nick to put in a high performance clutch, replacement dual mass flywheel, rear main seal and the seals on the transmission for my M3 which was comparable to some other shops in the area. He was quick to call me back after looking it up and very professional. The shop is clean and new. I let him know the transmission needed to have some software run after the install to bleed and adapt the clutch. After I ordered the parts, I let him know a few days in advance I would drop it off Wednesday night with the parts as well as the laptop, software and directions for adapting the clutch after install. I called Friday evening before close to see if I could pick it up and they hadnt even started it yet because they were still doing research on how to do it.Monday they started it hoping to have it done by Tuesday evening. Tuesday evening came around and the car was all taken apart and I was told it was going to cost more because they had a hard time taking the transmission out due to a sticky dowel pin on the shifter linkage. I ended up calling Wednesday morning, and asked them to push it outside so I could pick up the car running or not that evening. Nick let me know they would push it outside but they were just finishing putting it back together and if I could just wait until Thursday they would have the whole job complete. I came Thursday afternoon on my lunch break and the transmission was back in the car and the car wouldnt start because they hadnt even attempted to adapt the clutch. The one part of the job that made the clutch replacement different than any other car. I hooked up the laptop and after 20 minutes of playing with it got the car to start. My final bill was 1350 plus 250 for a rental car I should never have needed. The problems they encountered: sticky dowel pin on the shifter linkage and the clutch company forgot to put in an alignment tool so they had to wrap duct tape around an old one they had to get it to fit. After I got it home I noticed it was puking oil everywhere. I had given them the wrong input shaft seal, so I ordered a new seal with the correct part number and dropped the transmission in my garage on some jack stands to replace it. It took me just over 7 hours total doing a few hours after work each night to remove the transmission, replace the jack shaft seal and reinstall everything. I had no need to unhook any of the hydraulic lines or touch the dowel pin they had such a problem with. Now Im not a professional mechanic by any means. This was done on my back under the car held up by jack stands without any power tools or fancy transmission lift.Nick was good about not dodging my phone calls and did return my calls in a timely manner if he was busy. That was the only positive with my experience. Waiting until a car is taken apart to tell a customer the job is going to cost more is something Omaha transmission warns about other shops doing on their webpage. A little more for having to find a clutch alignment tool would have been understandable but 1350 for a car that doesnt even start was outrageous. I should have taken it to European auto tech in Lincoln that was slightly more and further away but could have had it done in under the quoted labor hours. Bottom line is this is a small business (which I like to support), not a chain. If something goes wrong, youre going to be the one getting screwed. I wouldnt put any weight in the claim they warranty their work. Your experience may vary but Im still very pissed when I think of the stress I had from the ordeal the 1600 it cost me.
