When we arrived, I told them my last name and they asked if I was Mary Ann. I said no and then the front desk woman got mad at me asking where Mary Ann was since I wasnt her and I just gave her my license because I knew the reservation was under my name and magically my reservation appeared and she stopped being sassy to me. Super weird interaction as someone visiting from out of town to be treated with such an accusatory tone after stepping through the door. There is way cheaper valet parking through MPG that is close and easier to reserve a spot online. Rooms were clean, beds were soft. Good location and easy to get in and out of the city if youre driving.

The room furniture is really worn down and the hallway is a scattered with trash and food stuff. The room thermostat says its 60 degrees but the room feel significantly warmer than that and there isnt a lower setting to cool the room down. The bed in my room had some smudges on the sheet. I booked this room thinking it would be a nice place to stay for my moms first visit to NYC and I was pretty disappointed. I am usually completely satisfied with Marriott but this stay was sub par.

Very nice hotel for the price! Not as elaborate as the other Courtyard hotels, but the location cant be beat. Easily a 15-20 minute walk to Central Park and the Metropolitan Museum. The manager and staff were very friendly. My wife and I will be back next time we stay in NY.

Loved my experience here at the Courtyard. I had to reschedule my room dates last minute because of unforeseen circumstances. The general manager was more than happy to help change my dates. This location is perfect if you want to stay in the Upper East Side. There’s plenty of nearby restaurants, pharmacies, shops, beauty services and everything in between. The room was clean and the staff members were courteous. I appreciate the COVID-19 measures they have in place. I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Upper East Side in Manhattan! You will not be disappointed!

I arrived to the hotel and received such a rude and not welcoming at all service by the security guard and the front desk sales person. The guy in the front desk treated me with disrespect and was being very rude and unpleasant.while asking when is check out and if they can extend the time his answer was No, you have to leave at 12! Choose your words, it’s not what you say it’s how you say it! Very unpleasant! I will never ever stay or recommend nobody to this hotel! And they charge $300 + tax! Way too expensive for treating people that poorly! At least smile!

The front desk person is cold, I am a gold elite member, she did not offer any benefit. I requested late check out, she said ok. But on the day we were checking out, our door was knocked in the morning for cleaning even with Do not disturb sign. I have to tell them we have a late checkout, they said they did not know. Then by 1pm, a cleaning lady just get in our room without knocking. I am glad I dressed properly at that time. I have to tell her again we are having a late check out at 2pm. She just turn and left. It seems whatever guests request means nothing to them. The room does not have a hair dryer, I have to call twice waited for hours for somebody to finally deliver to me. Overall not a good experience, will not stay again.

Its a bit long in the tooth. As a Courtyard, its therefore not as nice as the newer versions on the highways and byways. But for New York, its a cost effective place to be reasonably comfortable. The mattress is too soft. The HVAC too sluggish in response to changing the temperature. But the TV offerings are excellent. We were treated badly at reception, but a manager intervened and upgraded us from a standard room to a suite. So if Elmo the manager is there, customer service should be excellent. Theres little competition in this part of Manhattan, so if youre looking for decent quality at good prices, this place is worth a look.

Not a bad place to stay. The beds are soft. You sink into them when you lay down. Great hotel to be left alone in. Not much in terms of amenities but who needs that when you’re staying in NYC? As I prepare to check out of our 7 day stay everything went well. The place was clean. Check in was easy. I was actually in a bind since we were here because my son was having surgery at Mt Sinai and this was only a 20 minute walk, I had no place to go til check in and thought Id see if I can get an early check in. They hooked me up big time and made my already stressful day a lot easier. Plenty of restaurants in the area to order in from. Cant thank them enough

The rooms are in pretty bad shape. They just aren’t taking care of them. See photos attached. Light fixtures broken, scuff marks and scrapes all over the place. It’s fairly affordable but I wouldn’t stay again. Would be better if it was in a better location, maybe 2nd or 3rd ave. Or perhaps more modern. But the outdated rooms that look out of 2002 in garbage conditions is inexcusable.

I have stayed in Marriott hotels for years and this by far the worst. The entire hotel needs a makeover, from the musty smelling room, dirty looking floors, air conditioning that is loud and doesn’t work well. The walls are incredibly thin- we could hear absolutely every word said in the hallway. On one day housekeeping didn’t come by at all (we left the room at 12:30 and were gone the rest of the day) and the next day they knocked on our door and tried to come in at 8:30am. I recently had to travel to NYC from Florida for some specialized surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital. The courtyard Marriott was one of the hotels that were suggested as a place to stay since it was fairly close to the hospital. I had asked for a safe and quiet room since my wife would mainly be there by herself. The room we were given was a very nice top floor small suite. The few nights I was there were very pleasant and comfortable and also knowing that my wife was safe as well was helpful. The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning attendants were terrific! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in NYC, it is a pleasant walk to Central Park, Museums, dining and surgery :) if needed.

The hotel is fine. When reading the Marriott website it says that all rooms are equipped with disinfecting wipes. I looked and none to be found. With the virus still raging, wipes should be in the rooms.

This was our first stay at this particular Marriott in NYC, and while it was an overall nice stay, there are some areas where they could have improved. First of all, as a Platinum Elite member, I expected a better view from my room on the 12th floor, but instead it was a view of a housing complex across the street. I probably should have reported and asked to be switched, but honestly, I should not have had to do that. First of all, they knew when I made my reservation of my membership status, so it should have been an automatic upgrade, and secondly, I had been driving all day, and did not want to go through the hassle of moving my luggage to another room. Secondly, there was leftover trash in the microwave from a previous guest. Not a big deal, but it was garlic bread, so it stunk a bit. The biggest issue in our room was that of a malfunctioning outlet in the bathroom that we did not discover until we were getting ready the next day to go out. I reported it immediately and it was fixed immediately. The hotel is not far from a subway station, but you do have to walk a few blocks, and I was with my 80 year old mother who is not feeble, but could not walk that far, so we had to utilize ride shares which are expensive. Parking is expensive at this hotel, and pretty much every hotel in the city, so I rented a parking spot from a company and paid for a ride to the hotel. The parking spot cost me about a third of what parking at the hotel for three nights would have cost. The room was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. It was not a large room because they arent in NYC, but it was larger than some of the newer Marriotts rooms, so that was good. Overall, we had a nice stay, but the view should have been much better.

Most of the staff was pleasant, some friendlier than others. One lady helped us figure out how to navigate the subway. My only complaint was that our reservation was for four but housekeeping only left enough towels for three each day. The hotel offered free coffee and tea in the lobby but the area was always surrounded by gnats. It could have been maintained better.

As a disabled person I made sure to reserve a room that was handicapped accessible with 2 queen beds. At arrival, I was told that room was not available eventhough it was paid for and I had 3 confrirmations for that room. They only had a King bed available to share with my 2 grown sons. The room that was requested was occupied. I was told to wait for the manager who could not be found in the hotel. After waiting a half hour I was told that the manager would be in the lobby soon. Another half hour went by before she appeared. We were totally disregarded by her as she went to the back room. More than an hour went by before they gave my sons their own room which I suggested earlier. Also, during my wait I asked for a bottle of water which the desk clerk was handing out to other guests. She told me to wait, which I eventually received. This is no way to run a hotel. There are also no amenities at this hotel.

My wife and I live in Kansas; however, my wife had serious back surgery in NYC in mid-July 2019. We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Manhattan /Upper East Side for 15 days, while my wife was convalescing from the surgery and could not travel. I contacted the hotels General Manager Martyn Reed prior to our stay and explained the purpose of our lengthy stay. He could not have been more gracious and accommodating. He upgraded us to a suite, ensured that the room would not only be thoroughly cleaned on a daily basis, but also that the bedding would be changed daily so as to help reduce any chance of infection. In addition, Lalita, the housekeeper that primarily serviced our room was absolutely wonderful. She not only ensured the cleanliness of our room and that we had whatever amenities we needed, e.g., extra towels, but also projected sincere concern for my wifes welfare. Im a professional speaker and have spent literally thousands of nights in hotels over the past 30 years; and cannot remember a more professional and kind housekeeper than Lalita.Although Im singling out both Mr. Reed and Lalita for special praise, the entire staff was terrific. As an aside, the hotel is clean, and has a nice exercise room.

This has become our first choice for a hotel when business or pleasure bring us to Manhattan. Staff members are always pleasant, the room clean and comfortable. Its *extremely* convenient for driving in or out via the FDR, and also for visiting relatives in Queens, which we do when coming from our home in the Catskills. When age dictates we must travel by bus or train instead, likely well choose a different Marriott in Midtown, but until then this is our favorite.

I made a request for items through the app numerous times and received no response. The parking is very expensive for $57 a night to park thats almost as much as I paid for the room. We were able to find parking around the corner for $40 but we decided to park on the street for free the only issue with that is you have to make sure you move your car before 7:00 a.m. or you will receive a ticket. I was eligible for an upgrade but was told they were completely sold out however that wasnt the case because when I looked online there were still rooms available. I had to book this hotel last minute as my son had to have emergency surgery at Mt. Sinai. I had no clue where to go. I booked it because it seemed to be close. It ended up being perfect for what we needed. Close to the hospital, in a nice more residential area yet a short cab ride to anything touristy. Room was clean, housekeeping and front desk staff were amazing. Everything was a close walk to Starbucks, pharmacy, deli’s. I spent a lot of time in the lobby and saw people coming and going for business and tourists. They offer a small discount for hospital patients and families which was helpful as NYC is very expensive in general. It would have been nice to have a breakfast available or restaurant on site but it all worked out. They had info for food delivery and a wonderful market just opened up on the corner. Even though it was for a bad reason....it was a very good stay and I was lucky to find this hotel. I highly recommend it for whatever your reason is for coming to this area.
