Ocean was professional, funny and extremely helpful. Checking in was a breeze and for a New York hotel room, the room had plenty of space. The clean scent throughout the hotel was a pleasant touch. Of all the AC Hotels I’ve stayed in, this is probably one of my favorite locations. Thanks Ocean for the pleasant stay!

They do not have a good service. Their staff is not sufficiently trained. They do not understand the protocols and procedures for processing something as basic as a tax exception. When I got to the room the sheets were dirty. I decided to cancel my stay here and go to another hotel with better service and a clean room. Its a pity because I always use AC hotels, but I definitely do NOT recommend this one.

Definitely not 4 star. I decided to stay here because its a new property. The front desk people were trying their best to be helpful but they were under staffed every time I stopped by. Post-pandemic Time Square is also less desirable and there were many rowdy party goers on a Monday night. I would not recommend staying here for business trip or if you are a light sleeper.

Even though I didn’t stay at this hotel, but I wanted to give it a 5* review due to an interaction I had with their Operations Manager Marlene.I originally booked a room with this hotel for a future stay via the Marriott website. My credit card was charged for $1. It seemed odd to me, as none of the other Marriott hotels had done this before during my bookings. But I thought it was just a simple credit card validation as many merchants would do and the charge would be dropped within a few days. But I was wrong, this charge got posted to my credit card after a few days and stayed there.Due to my plan change, a few weeks later I had to cancel this booking. I didn’t know if this $1 would be refunded or not, so I also reached out to Marriott support to ask about this $1 charge (that should have not happened in the first place). My message was quickly forwarded to the hotel and I was reached out by their Operations Manager Marlene. She wrote me a very personalized and apologetic email and mentioned this incident will be reviewed with their upper management team. And as a gesture of good will, she also credited me a little bonus Bonvoy points to compensate for the inconvenience. My $1 was also refunded on the same day (not sure if it was her pushing this through or it just happened to be the system processed the refund since I cancelled the reservation). Her above and beyond means to resolve the situation is how I respect a manager should be. Even though I was never their guest, she still took good care of my case and followed up immediately with a points offer and a solution. This is truly the right way to treat a guest and the way to earn repeated business.Their hotel will be THE hotel I will book when I visit NYC the next time as I know there is a manager who truly cares about guests. If I encounter any issue at their hotel, I know I can trust her to resolve the issue satisfactorily.Thank you, Marlene!

I used to be a manager at a Sheraton hotel, I’ve worked it all from night audit to manager, i am also a certified service culture trainer for Starwood. It’s sad to see a property like this discriminate against its guests. They treat you with less respect and condescendingly if you book your room via travel agent or a third party.Rule of thumb you shouldn’t make your rooms available on third party sites if you do bot plan on honoring the standard of the brand. People pay a huge sum of money to stay here. The least u can do is be respectful.I have an upcoming reservation which was booked in a travel package with an agent and so far I’m ashamed and highly disappointed in the difference in treatment and diminishing of the brand and not at all looking forward to my stay.

Chose this hotel for my most recent stay in NYC for the great price. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The hotel is beautiful, clean and has a great restaurant and bar to hang out at if you arrive early for your stay and room isnt ready. Only downfall is the location/surrounding area is busy and dirty (typical of streets surrounding Times Square). But overall a great stay, especially with the friendliness of the security guards and staff.

I was truly looking forward to an exceptional experience with the AC Hotel as their hotels are usually a wonderful experience. However, the Times Square location upon check in this evening, was incredibly subpar - and coming come staying within many 5 star hotels from NY to Asia, I was very dismayed. I was unfortunately met with an abrasive and unaccommodating manager, by name of Ruslan. Or, so he says he is an on-site manager. Due to the nature of my benefits with Marriott hotels, which I have been an ongoing occupier and member of for a number of years, I have never quite experienced such a lack of concern, professionalism (i.e., chatting with co workers and snickering) nor unwillingness to assist. When checking in after the allotted check in time of 3 PM, the VERY last thing a person wants to be met with is an individual who lacks enthusiasm, and who is hell-bent on having an unwillingness to help - and, I am never one to complain. A manager encompassing or shall I say the lack of encompassing the aforementioned, should undoubtedly possess more managerial experience as well as training. And, for that alone, I will not stay within this AC hotel location again. Other than my experience with the front desk manager, “Ruslan,” the hotel rooms are very accommodating, spacious, clean and chic. Thus bringing my 1 Star review to 2.

I will definitely be coming back to the AC hotel. I booked a two double beds room and check in was flawless. The receptionist gave me the high level floor that I requested and although there wasn’t a flattering view I really appreciated his friendly service. The room was very clean and felt pretty spacious for a NYC hotel room. The shower was amazing and the water pressure was perfect. Having a fridge is such a plus and I used it during the whole stay. The linens were clean and the TV has a lot of channels to offer. Everything was great during my short stay and I can not wait to come back for my next staycation.

We got to the hotel after midnight and they didn’t have the room we booked. They promised to take care of us in the morning. We called at 9am and the lady was very rude. She said she doesn’t have anything for us and offered to call later. We called at 11 and then at 2pm. Still wasn’t anything but the last lady promised to call us back once they have rooms cleaned. Nobody called us back 😅 we got back to the hotel at around 4 and women in the resection ask her manager to help her with our issue. They made us wait for the manager like 15 min and then manager promised to solve our issue. He was running around talking to all the guests and employees around. Then we asked again and he promised again to take care of us and forgot about us immediately after he promised 😩 Finally after 30 min following him around he asked one of the girls on the reception to take care of us. We got another room with the king bed as we booked. After all this experience we are just wondered how this hotel got all this good reviews? How all this people and management work like this? How this hotel can be associates with the Marriott chain? What a shame and what a mistake for us to choose it for our stay.

Location, location! In the heart of Times Square AC Hotel is an ideal spot to experience the sights & sounds of New York’s busiest streets. Spacious, well designed lobby was a great place to get some work done on the go utilizing AC Hotel’s reliable wifi. They also have a great business conference room and a solid gym. All the staff we encountered were very friendly. The rooms were designed well, ultra modern. Cool lighting. Excellent shower with two heads.Only complaint would be that our room wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, 1/4 of a cookie left behind prior to our arrival + a few other little messes overlooked. Noisy hallways but that’s expected in Times Square (party crowd). Thick windows illuminated any outside noise.Received a great deal using Hotel Tonight. 4/5 stars.

I must say Daniel, Maritza, Angelo, and Alex were extremely helpful and wonderful people. Daniel had communicated all week with me about a missed reservation and was very understanding and polite. His customer service skills were outstanding and he remembers people. I also watched him praise his staff and telling them that they did a great job that day. Maritza was extremely helpful about the whole parking situation and was even going outside to look for availability. Maritza was very calm and patient listening to stories from unhappy customers and she was great at deescalating them. I did not have much interaction with Angelo or Alex but small talk briefly and they were always polite and considerate of the situation as well. Jarrett on the other hand clearly needs to be retrained management skills. Her attitude is very distasteful and her customer service skills are nothing I would ever like to encounter again. Not only did you call me while we were out to eat for my daughters birthday, but she was also upset because her decision was not upheld. In speaking with her, as understanding as I was trying to be, she was very dismissive and somewhat rude. Other than that I would like to end on a great note. My daughter and her friends had a great time and we will be doing this again. Thank you Daniel, Maritza, Angelo, and Alex you all do great work and work very well with people. I really appreciate you all.

Avoid at all costs. I have ~350 Marriott nights lifetime and they have been pleasant ~99% of the time. This is the worst. The hotel double billed me. When I called to dispute the charge they said that they could see I was correct and would contact me within 48 hours to 72 hours. After 72 hours I called back and was told they are still looking into the issue. The charge is still there. I assume at this point Ill have to go through my credit card to have it removed.Do not stay here.EDIT: In response to the comment below. I attempted to call the number provided. I was on hold for one hour and was not able to speak to management. There is no way to get in touch with anyone who can help. Again, do not stay here.

My favorite hotel in the city. The AC is steps from the subway, far enough away from the Times Square crowds to be relatively quiet. Close to many food options and I like how the AC hotels have water stations on floors. The hard surfaces of the AC rooms feels like the room is cleaner than some other hotels with carpet and upholstery. The staff is super friendly and since I am there at least once a month, they have addressed me by name, even with my mask on!I used to stay at various Marriott properties in the city, but because of the hospitality of the staff, I now only stay here.

Terrible experience overall and would not recommend for your stay if visiting the city. While the hotel is primely located near Times Square and has several nice amenities such as a rooftop restaurant, meeting space, etc. the cleanliness and staff service sucked.Stayed for memorial weekend and had great service from the manager Daniel (probably one of the few folks that actually gave good service here) However the rooms themselves were quite dirty with visible stains on the mattress sheets, top blanket, and pillows. When I tried to contact the front desk they never picked up and were always busy downstairs. Further, they attempted to check me out early stating whoever setup the reservation in our system must have done it wrong but never apologized and actually tried to make me feel like it was my fault their system was incorrect. I thought this was resolved but come to find out after my stay I still received charges for late check out and now while Im trying to contact them to remove the charges I just keep getting transferred from the front desk to sales back and forth.

My 12 night stay at the AC Marriott Hotel Times Square was awesome. I highly recommend this hotel. The staff goes above and beyond to be friendly and help with anything you could possibly need. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming every single morning when we started our day, even going above and beyond to give us food suggestions during a busy check in. The manager (im sorry I never caught her name) was extremely friendly and I swear she was working every single time I went to the lobby the entire 12 days I was there. Johnathan at the front desk was beyond friendly and went out of his way to say hello and make sure we were okay and didnt need anything else. He even offered to book me a car to the airport on my last day, and called with a confirmation number within 5 minutes. The room was absolutely spotless and when we asked for it to be serviced it was done within the hour. I am a Hilton Dimond member and I can honestly say after this experience, I definitely need to switch to Marriott. Spectacular experience I had with AC Hotel! I booked 5 nights, no single regret. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, accommodating, and courteous. Every time we came back after outing we were always greeted upon arrival! I have many hotel experiences but AC service was by far one of the exemplar one! Location is great! Times Square, stores, restaurants are all close by and convenient within walking distance. One thing to note would be that if you have a red eye flight and will miss check in or between hours, make sure to call the hotel/front desk to check in and let them know so your reservation won’t be canceled as a “no show”. I tried calling but talked to the reservation dept, to find out when I arrived at 10AM the room was canceled. However, the front desk was extremely helpful. Within 20 mins a room was ready for us, I’m glad that a meltdown crisis didn’t happen lol The room size was ok, but heard that in nyc that it’s about normal. There is also so rooftop bar that opens limited hours but nice view at night! Overall, amazing experience for my first time in NYC! Highly recommend and would return!

Until this week and weekend past, I was quite impressed by this establishment. However this past Monday night into Tuesday, there was no available water from 10pm to 7am...AND there was only 1 of the 3 elevators working since at least Friday evening...AND, unavoidable by the hotels staff or capabilities, but there always seems to be a bum fight in front,....nightly....This hotel is far to nice-looking and expensive to have to tolerate any of these inconveniences. They should also give more to guests as far as amenities, points and gifts than they do--Especially loyal guests--like local restaurants (all levels), discount shops and chain pharmacies/stores...something. They just give you two 6 oz waters...and not even good water.

Wish i could give 0 stars. First impression was standard, second night we got to the hotel from a busy day to a room that had not been cleaned, i had to make the beds and was then informed that the rooms were cleaned upon request only; this was not communicated to us either by the confirmation email or at check in. It was then that we requested the room to be cleaned the next day. That night we were awaken by a fight in front of our door, it took a while for the security to take care of the screaming guests. The third day we got to the hotel exhausted from the day again to a room not cleaned even after requesting the cleaning the night before, called the front desk and they just said they would take care of it the next day, we wanted to shower and needed clean towels so requested them during this call. While one of us waited for the towels and stayed with our two kids. the other went to the front to talk to a manager about this, Daniel reinstated they would take care of it the next day and was very dismissive about my concern, Being 8 months pregnant going on a vacation with my family the least I want to do after a busy day is clean up, make beds and have to call and wait for clean towels and coffee. Basic standard service needs from any hotel we have visited were not being met and I was treated as I was making a big deal about it. I requested another room so that I didn’t have to clean and make beds and Daniel said he couldn’t do that because he would inconvenience another guest by taking their reservation or having to move them to another hotel since they were completely booked (i checked later online and they have rooms available so this was not true) I explained how him telling me to go back to my room to make the beds myself and deal with a dirty room was not resolving my problem and if he had fo make other arrangements for another guest that would be appropriate. He declined... i mentioned I had chosen this hotel based on great customer service reviews online but I thought they were wrong,it was then that after being in the front desk for almost 30 minutes I was given another room and got an apology mixes with excuses. The extra towels by the way never got to my husband or the new room... we were exhausted and had to share wet towels, that night in the new room the smell of weed coming to the room was strong, at 1:30am was awaken by the next door guest cursing, screaming and throwing things to the wall, this lasted until 3:15am and started again at 6am. The hotel again is standard but the service and guests make it impossible to be enjoyable. Not looking forward the next two nights...

The service was poor even before arrival... While boarding a late-night flight to NYC, I get a message from the front desk associate informing me that my payment method has been declined and therefore our reservation is not guaranteed until payment is completed. Thankfully, the associate was uninformed and did not realize my payment was processed well in advance.Upon arrival to the hotel, we check into our room to discover two visibly dirty champagne glasses. Nude lipstick was still on one of the glasses from a previous user. Yikes. It was obvious that the glassware was not properly cleaned nor sanitized. This was very concerning, as cleanliness and sanitation standards should be a top priority to the hotel, especially during a worldwide pandemic. The next day, there was a written notice that only one elevator in service due to scheduled maintenance of the elevator belts. This was frustrating. Guests should have been informed of this inconvenience beforehand. Not only did the lack of elevators cause delays, but it was also a major violation of health safety protocols. My boyfriend and I had to choose between riding a packed elevator with 6-11 strangers or climbing 18 flights of stairs to and from our room. There was no way to practice social distancing whatsoever. At one point, we were in a jam-packed elevator with 11 people! Unacceptable. The limited elevator service also caused us to be late for our sunset reservation at Castell Rooftop. Due to this, we were unable to be seated at the outdoor table that was reserved beforehand. This was discouraging.Later that night around 4:00 am my boyfriend woke up to find a terrible leak that covered half of the bathroom floor and toilet. Unfortunately, my makeup and toiletry bag was sitting on the back of the toilet and got soaked by the leak. He had to lay the sopping wet items to dry on the counter and then proceeded to cleaned the leak. At 9:00 am I woke up to this disaster. I had to discard a few of the toiletries that were compromised from the leak. When I brought this complaint to the front desk, I was assured that the leak was most likely the result of the guests above us running their shower or toilet for a prolonged period of time. What?! Gross! What a terrible explanation, it actually made me feel worse.During the last day, we went up to our room to shower and pack our belongings for checkout. After waiting in line for 10 minutes to use the elevator up to our floor, we arrive at the room just to realize the room key was deactivated. Once again, frustrating. By the time we went down to the front desk to reactivate the key and back up to our room, nearly half an hour passed by. During the shower, housekeeping kept banging on the door and then opened the door. THANK GOD the catch lock was opened which prevented housekeeping from barging in on my boyfriend and me in the shower. We then quickly packed our belongings and rushed downstairs to make checkout. Once arriving home, I realized that I left behind a new $150 Sonic electronic toothbrush. I’ve never forgotten an item behind before, not once. Comes to show how extremely stressed out I was rushing to pack. I never did a final walk around to check. I contacted the hotel 3 hours after checkout to ask about shipping the forgotten toothbrush. I was directed to call housekeeping the next morning. The next morning, I called housekeeping 4 times and left 2 voicemails, nothing. A few days later, I was finally connected to housekeeping who told me there were no items left behind in room 1813, as they always follow a strict protocol on missing items. She then proceeds to tell me that if anything was left in the room they would have kept it, therefore I must have misplaced the toothbrush somewhere. WHAT?Ive never had so many issues in such a short timeframe. An experience like this is unheard of. Unfortunately, I sent this message directly to hotel management weeks ago and nobody followed up with me.

This place was beautiful the price was reasonable for a one night stay. The location puts you close to many different things to eat. The only thing is the deposit was really high. I got my money back on a Wednesday and I stayed on a Sunday but I didnt know that I had to leave such a high deposit before staying. What if I didnt have the money? Other than that the staff was very nice and the rooms were extremely clean. The bed was so comfortable I didnt wanna get up. I will definitely be staying here again.

Couldn’t be any more impressed with the professionalism and hospitality of this staff in addition to the attentiveness and cleanliness of the accommodations. Especially considering the bad weather, NYE weekend, global pandemic situation and all the other factors stacked against this crew. They were flawless.

Positive: The roof top Bar was amazing. The room looks Luxurious and the bed was very comfortable. I also enjoy the shower, not a big fan of the sliding door of bathroom as if you was with someone else they would not know your in the bathroom since theres no lock. Negative: I was not aware of down payment, Gentlemen infront was telling me I had to put down $200 deposit, I do not recall seeing that anywhere in the Itinerary. Would be good to know what the down payment is before I booked the hotel.
