My overall experience so far with Alex and the team has been positive and informative. They need some time as many people in management are new but are wonderful people. The quality of the rooms are unmatched and the parking garage is great. I love urban village and the surrounding area♥

RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!I stayed at Urban Village for two years. At the beginning I loved it for the most part. The real nightmare didn’t start until, the property management company changed over to Pinnacle.Which was later acquired by Cushman & Wakefield. That is when the new property manager Alexander Mathews took over. From there I can honestly say everything wen’t down hill.1. After notifying Alex about pest control issues I started to experience in my unit. ( !!roaches fleas and or bedbugs !!!!). I let management know that I was seeing roaches & was getting bitten. Was told I had to wait a week until they could send someone. I expressed that wasn’t acceptable. Was then told someone would come the following Business day. Which nobody ever showed up. Nothing was done until the third time of bringing it to his attention. Was very neglectful and disinterested about taking care of tenant issues as such.2. There was one time that I was locked out from the parking garage because the key fob wouldn’t work at 3 AM. I called the overnight emergency number and they were no help. I had to sleep in my car that night until I was let in. The next day when I brought it to Alex attention and asked him what can I do or who could I contact if that were to happen again. He was unable to give me an answer and never followed up with me to help prevent that from happening again.3. !!Beware!!! The management company is truly diss honest & straight out unethical. I moved out over 30 days ago I still haven’t received my security deposit. Per, California Law they are require to return security deposit within 21 days after move out. Not only have I not received this in the security deposit but they also owe me $1.3k+ in overpaid rent. When I attempt to follow up I either get no response from Alex or when I finally do it’s just a run around. Telling me it must have gotten lost or returned in the mail. When I requested that have someone call me or have someone else that can help me with this matter reach out he ignored my multiple request.Currently seeking legal assistance to assist with recovery of these funds in full.

Super good place! The people in the office are super nice and they are always willing to help. The maintenance guy is super awesome and fixed everything right away. The lobby is really nice and it has a couple of TVs. You can connect your phone screen to the TVs so you can watch your favorites shows or YouTube or whatever. The pool and jacuzzi are nice too. There are also some grills you can use to grill stuff up haha. Its also super close to the beach and all the touristy spots and the place isnt too pricey. Definitely recommend to anyone

Ive lived at Urban Village for 2 years, and just renewed my lease. The reasons for that are both Lily, and Eddie. They exude exceptional professionalism, and their willingness to go above and beyond is very commendable. The place itself is nice, and they do a great job of trying to maintain the cleanliness of the complex. Though people complain, I cannot say it is Urban Villages fault if some of the tenants are just plain slobs and have no regard for their neighbors. So how is that Urban Villages fault. Pick up after yourself. Be considerate of your fellow tenants. That would go a long way to improving the experience of living there

There have been several things that need to be fixed in my apartment that I request and until now I have nothing fixed, when I summit requests and I check the status they say its been done when clearly it hasnt. It totally sucks because Im never late with my rent neither my bills, ever since we have a new management everything changed and things dont get taken care of.

Possibly the most deceptive management company I have ever worked with. In-person they are nice, generally supportive. In practice, management is negligent, lazy, and is incompetent in many aspects. When management switched in March the establishment significantly went downhill. While living here, I have had packages stolen despite cameras being stationed right on the mail and package areas. My nephew was assaulted out front of the building. Even with this knowledge, management leaves the front door open and for at least 6 months left the secondary security door open to the public. They said Amazon can’t get in unless they leave it open.Even worse, my girlfriend who lived on the 4th floor had a random man attempt to force his way into her apartment. The man some how got into the building, went to the package/mail area and picked up packages with her name and apartment number. Management staff let the man up the elevator with her packages by swiping him up. When she answered to receive that packages, he attempted to push the door open and get in. Luckily she slammed the door shut and called management. Management did not answer, so she called me while the man continued to bang, yelling, and trying to open the door. Had I not been living on the first floor the man may have persisted to try to get in. Management could not find the man on the cameras, admitted that a staff member was in the elevator with the man and told me they didn’t know how to use the cameras. Management also admitted that leaving the door open posed a safety risk to people on the first floor, who have complained about the issue. Also the back door closest to an alley where the homeless sleep was left open for 4 weeks before and after the attempted break-in.Management refuses to admit that leaving the doors open and not knowing how to use the security cameras helped this criminal enter the building. They told my girlfriend she would have to pay $4000 to leave the building, despite needing an escort and being traumatized to leave the apartment. Even worse, they blamed all the issues on previous management despite this happening almost a year after they took over the property. The property manager said he would move if he lived here based on security being a priority, but then he refused to provide the contact information of the regional property manager who made the decision that it will cost $4000 for her to end her lease. There have been multiple instances of staff members testing positive for COVID-19, and the hand sanitizers are frequently left empty. The hallways often have animal urine left for days. The cleaning people on staff are incredibly nice and helpful, but it’s a shame there is only two of them for a 5 floor establishment. The amenities that are open during COVID are rarely cleaned, lights have not worked, and are frequently broken. It took management well over 6 months to have functioning TVs in the pool area despite it being open during this time.I would never recommend this place to anyone ever based off my experiences here.

Renter beware! If you love being woken up in the middle of the night by a car alarm... come on down, this is the place for you! Or if you love a fire alarm going off monthly, again this is the place for you. Also if you do rent, kiss that security deposit goodbye no matter what condition you leave the property, for they have zero intention of giving it back.Did I mention the property is overly expensive and in a super bad neighbor to boot!Have fun future residents, thank god Im out!

Great place to live! What issues I have had were handled promptly, and its the most well managed building Ive ever lived in. Lovey, Eddie, and Char are the best team. I wish some residents were more considerate of the common areas but Id recommend the building to anyone looking for a new apartment.

The staff at Urban village really tries to make all the residents feel like a community. There are constant emails being sent with invitations to different events .Fantastic location(a few steps away from train station), clean and well maintained amenities , friendly residents , modern interior and overall a great place to live.Relocated here and the team have been really great in responding to questions or requests and follow up until the issues are resolved. The staff is always really friendly and accommodating and really show they care about the residents and their needs/concerns.

Quiet wonderful friendly environment. It has a modern lounge and fabulous pool and gym. The management is awesome and helpful. The maintenance team is professional and in time. I am happily. The residents are great and friendly. I live in here for more than a year and I have never been disappointed. The apartment is 5mins far from the aquarium, the convention center and the beach.

Nice appearance and impressed at first, but neighbors are nasty. On no less than 2 occasions, I found dog poop in the hallway. For one month while I was living there, there a was strong odor from one of the apartments that poured into the hallways for a month. I had to hold my nose on the walk from my apartment to the parking structure. I think people drag their trash bags, so you’ll regularly see stinky trails of fluid that lead you to the rubbish bin. The first floor is kept in really nice shape (probably for show) while less detailed is given to the other floors. Oh also, good luck finding parking for friends if you have visitors. The Superiors next door tows—learned that lesson the hard way. Managers were nice and accommodating, except when I moved out. I had reached out to urban village a month after moving out and they told me my remaining balance had been covered my security deposit, so I left it at that. A month is considerable amount of time (I would think) to assess damage and costs to me. So imagine my surprise when I found out 2 years later I had debt in collections. I called the business manager Lovely to inquire why they never reached out by a simple call or email, which they had on file, but they “don’t do that.” I will need to pay the debt with a 30 day deadline. Real kind of you, Urban Village. I find it bothersome this matter could have been taken care of years ago; without this deadline; and threat of being reported to the credit bureau.

Came back to edit my review, Sunday night and people are just partying out at the pool. None of them live here and they are breaking glass. No respect for other tenants who have to work in the morning. This place really needs to clean its act. Cant wait to move out of here.

Ive been living at Urban Village for nearly 2 years. It was great in the beginning but has seemed to become less of a home and more of a beleaguered money hungry business. Lockouts were always expensive but the sudden hike in price if you get locked out after hours to the fees they charge to use shared amenities its become difficult to enjoy this community. The Pros:The staff on-site is outstanding. Theyre friendly, helpful and responsive but unfortunately controlled by the corporate overlords and backed into a painful corner. Its kept clean for the most part. They will tow people super fast if they park in your spot.Nice apartment units on the surface. The Cons:Fees fees fees. Corporate is in it to make a buck thats evident.Limited parking in the garage. No parking for visitors.Cockroaches have been seen in the building.Ive personally encountered 3 homeless people that come into the building to sleep at night.Hot tub hasnt worked properly for almost 2 years and is disgusting looking.Rent is high.Trash piles up in the garbage room regularly and people dump their furniture and large items by the garbage shoots making them inaccessible.Intermittent very poor water pressure. The second garage gate is redundant and makes life harder than its worth by slowing cars down and creating a regular backup of people coming and going.High crime area with a lot of police activity. Transient fights and panhandlers are a very common occurrence.

Never again!!! First off i had to buy out my lease some tenants were very racist. Second, i just found out urban village sent me to collection for supposedly having damages to the apartment after i was told when i moved out that the place was clean & no damages. They told me i would get my deposit back & a check would be sent out. Mind you this was oct 2018. Called charr last year & said that she will send a letter. At this time i already forgot about the letter that i was suppose to be recieving. Not once did i recieved anything until monday when i recieved a letter from a collection company from urban village charging me for damages!!!!

Horrible place to live. Granted the apartments are nice enough if you dont mind hearing every step the tenants above you take. And if you dont mind you car getting broken into or bike stolen. Oh yeah and if you dont mind the office making excuses to come into your apartment multiple times a year. Or them giving time estimates for something that in no way reflects actual time taken. If you dont mind walking past the homeless people on your way to this luxury, extremely high rent for the bad area, apartment then welcome home. My visitors are always surprised at how bad the neighborhood is for the rent paid.

Well I just moved in to this place on the 1st of April. So far I dont mind the unit, although there has been a few issues already since we moved in.There is a bit of riff raff around the complex, even this morning I was woke up to a drunk woman shouting to herself while drinking a 40 of vodka. I am just curious to how she got in since you need the key card to get into the complex. Regardless though, this place is quite clean from what I seen. They keep the pool area well maintained and have really nice grills. They also hold resident events. I like this idea since it could familiarize you with other residence which gains more trust in a way. The staff are really friendly and have been very good at fixing any issues I may have prior to move in. I would say its in my top 10 places Ive lived so far but lets see what I think after a year.

Worst place EVER! The Staff is so unprofessional and follows guests and questions where theyre going, what apartment, etc. etc., they treat you like you live in a dorm. The allow tenants with multiple pets to live here (which might be ok if they were placed on the first level). But You can hear EVERY NOISE from pets and hard walkers if they live above you. They make excuses to enter the apartments at least once a month w/ less than 24 hour notice. Its just an awful place that was SUPPOSED to be LUXURY. Its NOT! Far from it ! Not worth the money being charged.
