The technician was professional and performed an excellent assessment of the repair for my refrigerator. This issue is the cost for the services. There was no part ordered. I was charged $360 in labor charges to adjust water tubing to ice maker. I could have declined the repair but as senior citizen and not knowing how to repair felt not choice. Lessons learned and will not use this over-priced company again!

Horrible experience with Sears Home Services... Kenmore Elite washer has been broken since April (11+ weeks)... is covered under Master Protection Agreement... However, Sears has been unwilling to honor the appliance repair or replacement terms of the agreement... still waiting for replacement authorization since June 3rd... keep getting lied to by various departments...Protection Agreements, Replacement, and Offline Parts department reps... resulting in further delays, inconvenience, economic harm, and damages to customer. Sears has defaulted on its contractual obligations... SHS actions and intent in denying service and support to resolve this matter are nothing short of malicious.

He said dishwasher was only getting 1 volt but he had it plugged into the wrong outlet. There was nothing wrong with the outlet or the electrical box. He plugged it into the one for garbage disposal and you have to turn the switch on to make it work. It cost me another $89 for electrician plus the $100 I paid Sears.

I requested someone to come look at my dishwasher. While the technician was nice and professional, we did not use their service. There was a service fee that I paid at that time and then I thought I would be done at that point. I then received a notice saying payment was not remitted, however I had proof of payment on my credit card. I went through 3 phone calls and 5 different email addresses to just try and send my proof of payment. Then another month later, I received the same mail saying i did not pay. Went through the process again. They gave me yet another email to send my proof of payment to. This time, I did receive a response the next day and they advised that it was closed. Well then two days later I receive a call from collections that Sears sent my amount to them. Once again, I had to send my proof of payment again. This is just ridiculous. I will not be using Sears again for service repair for the headache that they have caused me in the backend.

Freezer went out on November 25th. Sears service has been out here working on it on and off for almost four months. ordered parts five different times. finally got the missing part. heat exchanger tubing. Technician cracked new compressor tubing port while installing it half way through the job. new compressor ordered. week later a different technician and trainee sent out to finish job. Sears should have sent the same person out to finish the job. its like taking Your motor apart and asking someone else to put it back together. New Techs had a big learning curve trying to figure out how all the tubing was bend and shaped under the freezer. now FINALLY after almost four months freezer seems to be working ?

Really bad.. they trick me on having a technician coming to the house with the excuse that the item was in stock. Tech came pay 99$ for diagnostic (I told them what it was, fridge main board replacement) the item was suppose to arrive in few days, instead they sent me a message delaying the item up to 2 weeks with the excuse of back ordering. Long story short, they refund me the price of only the board, got it from Amazon and installed myself... You got 99$ from me enjoy it will be my last...SEARS IS DEAD TO ME...

Six months of waiting and feeling gypped.Six months ago, we had a repairman out to service our refrigerator, which was not cooling correctly. He knocked out some ice from the fan, made a mess, used my towels, and tried to sell me all sorts of services and warranties. He happily left leaving me with a charge over 400. Two weeks later, the same problem reappeared.Another man came out to service our refrigerator under the service warranty. This time he said it was a valve, but he didnt have the parts. He had to order them which was another charge. Months and months have passed with phone calls, online chats and many empty promises--always hearing the words expedite and 24-72 hours. Six months, over $500, and no repair. I dont even have the parts for which I was charged. Unbelievable.I am not giving up, Sears. I chose Sears for years because of its reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, this seems to have disappeared.

Would actually rate 0 stars. Initial appointment for maintenance 1 1/2 weeks ago to maintain a perfectly working washing machine. Upon working on machine technician left and machine no longer working Ask to add technician showed up two hours past window. Waited on hold in access 1 hour to speak with someone regarding issue and reschedule. Was told following appointment machine would be able to be fixed. Appointment two 5 days ago technician actually showed up on time attempted to diagnosis machine and concluded it was broke... duh already knew the original technician broke machine. Now having to order parts. Now it is Friday and original appointment between 8-12. It is 4:39 and still no one has shown up to fix machine. Continue to call and speak to inept personal which have no idea what is going on. Once this machine is restored will never use the warranty or sears ever again for anything. Very disappointed as this use to be a reputable company.

We have two problems with our Kenmore Elite refrigerator: The ice maker does not work and the main compartment does not cool properly. I called Sears Home Service to request repair. Before they would agree, I was required to go through a troubleshooting sequence with the telephone tech; fair enough. At the conclusion, the tech determined that a technician was needed and scheduled an appointment. This whole process took about 20 minutes, which I did not like, but no big deal. The repair technician arrived on schedule. I showed him where the ice maker was leaking causing ice puddles under the bottom and inside the ice bucket rendering it nonfunctional. The technician informed me that was usually due to a kinked hose and proceeded to disassemble and do whatever it is he said he did to repair it (I didnt watch). A short time later he had the ice maker reassembled and what he said was the problem was the problem. He said the internal cooling compartment checked out fine, which I disagreed with him about as we have a similar LG unit in the garage that gets ice cold if desired and this one only gets items cool at best. He said we probably open the door too much causing it to constantly have a temperature deficit. I still didnt agree, but what else could I say.He did not demonstrate that the ice maker was working as there was no ice in the bin, so we just trusted what he said. Later that evening when the ice bin had filled, I place a glass under the ice dispenser and nothing. No motor operator attempting to turn as was the case before, nothing now. I connected with Sears chat to inform them that the technician did not repair the ice maker and requested another repair be scheduled.Even though all of the records of this problem and attempts at repair were on the screen in front of the chat technician, he refused to schedule another technician unless I agreed to go through the same onerous troubleshooting sequence with him all over again. I refused bringing our chat to a dead end.So bottom line, if you have plenty of patience and time to chat with technicians who dont trust that you know what you are talking about and therefore require you to go through abc steps just to get a repair technician back out to repair what he didnt repair the first time, by all means, this is a service for you. As for us, we resolved the problem by moving the LG in the garage into the kitchen and moving the defective Kenmore Elite (which ironically is manufactured by LG) into the garage. That is preferable to wasting time with Sears Home Services technicians.

We called the number inside our Kenmore Pro refrigerator mid February when we discovered our fridge had stopped cooling. (Two years after purchasing) They sent a technician to our home fairly quickly he diagnosed the problem quickly and stated the the compressor had gone down and that it was under a manufacturers warranty. He then proceeded to tell me that I had to pay for the labor before he would order the free parts. He also stated to parts would be delivered to my home within 5-7 days and we scheduled a time for him to come back and repair it. All seemed great until two of the three parts showed up and Sears gave me the run around for the next 30+ days. I spent hours on the phone, speaking to a countless number of different reps. I was hung up on twice after being told “I’m sorry you feel that way.” Not a single person I talked to could tell me when they’d have the part in stock or knew where it was even coming from. I finally got someone to tell me what the part was that we were waiting for on day 32. I made ONE phone call to a local part store and in 30 minutes I had the $3 part in my hand! This part store told me that this part is VERY COMMON and they had hundreds of them in stock at all times! We called Sears back that day and asked for them to schedule the service technician to return to do the repair. They argued that it wasn’t “their” part but finally scheduled. The new/different than the first repair technician arrived on time. And sat his bag on my floor opened it and had NO LESS THAN 10 of my missing part IN HIS TOOL BAG! We spent 40 days during a without a refrigerator because Sears doesn’t communicate with their own technicians!!!! The call center is located in another country and one part of the company does not talk to the other!!!! The call center refused to schedule the return appointment without all three of their parts onsite until we insisted and demanded our money back if they didn’t. The second repair technician who actually fixed the fridge was incredibly knowledgeable. So much more so than the first. He told us that the original compressor in our fridge was a known flaw and that the replacement should last a lot longer. The first technician blamed the placement of our fridge for the failed compressor. I spent countless hours in over a months time speaking to 5 different departments trying to get answers and got nothing but an uncaring runaround. It wasn’t until I took things into my own hands that I finally got answers and got what we needed to get the job done! SUPPORT your local repair companies! Find out the actual manufacturer of your Kenmore appliance and find a local service technician who actually cares about their clients. We will never do business with Sears again!

After having to order a part and wait weeks for installation, the tech arrived with the part, a valve, which was incompatible with our water hose on our older model refrigerator. We expected he would have had the correct part or adapter since their own records show the year and model refrigerator we own and since their own tech ordered the part. The tech ended up leaving with our refrigerator pulled out in the middle of our kitchen and told my husband he needed to go to a hardware store, buy an adapter, get behind the refrigerator (tight squeeze) to install it. Then my husband and I (both 67 yrs. old) could push the refrigerator back into the opening where it belongs. Unbelievable. And the repair (ice maker broken) has happened almost every year since weve had this Kenmore product. Weve always had the maintenance agreement but were done. Isnt worth it. If we didnt have a second refrigerator with an ice maker that hasnt ever broken in 20 yrs., we would have been without ice for a month. That second refrigerator is Amana. Were getting rid of the Kenmore and just bought a Kitchen Aid so we dont have to deal with this annual BAD event. Advice - dont use Sears Maintenance Agreements.

Archie called ahead and arrived on time. He understood the issue with our refrigerator immediately, correctly seeing the water leakage inside the refrigerator was a flaw in the original design. Archie made a retro-fit repair that took care of the problem. I wish I had been able to have someone as smart as Archie here years ago. Twice in the past few years we called a technician to fix the same problem but what they did was not enough to stop the water leakage and the water kept leaking inside. I highly recommend Archie and Sears Appliance Repair and will use them again the next time I need any appliance repaired.

We have been a big fan of Sears (35 plus years), but will think twice before ever buying another Sears product. With 15 tech visits, 14 parts ordered some more than once due to installation was incorrect, 2 due to Sears/LG didnt have correct part number for tech to order. If I were to rate the last tech that came to my home, I would give 5 stars for the job he did. He was friendly and professional in all aspects. However, if I were to rate the entire repair situation, it would get 2. First tech was good and identified the issue and parts needed to be ordered. When parts arrived 10 days later the 2nd tech came to make the repair but a computer board that was needed did not get ordered the first time so again we had to wait for parts. About a week later, the computer board did arrive and the 3rd different tech came only to find it was the wrong computer board. So again we ordered the correct board all this time I am without a refrigerator. The new board came in a week later being on the February 13th. February 14th the 4th tech came and the refrigerator didnt even need to new board as he was able to re-program the existing one (Which the 2 previous techs said could not be done). So after a month and a half, it is finally fixed.

This has more to do with the warranty I purchased before having my washer repaired. The repair man was very polite and respectful. He asked me some questions and turned on the washer. It still fills, washes and drains. What is wrong is that it makes a loud grinding noise on the spin cycle. It is a high end appliance not yet 4 years old. The repair man heard the noise confirmed with me that was what I was hearing, called someone and then told me there was nothing that could be done! He didnt take the back off, look inside to see what was making the noise. A piece inside is wearing out (maybe a coupling?) but no preventive maintenance was offered. The warranty cost me over $300. I would prefer to have the $500 toward a new machine as written if the machine cant be fixed. I guess Ill just use the heck out of it until it doesnt work at all anymore. I have a year if Sears doesnt go out of business first.

We had a poor experience this time from a usually awesome group. We were down for over 3 weeks with this failure. Totally unacceptable, Sears had to order the pump to empty the machine. It was delayed in shipping and on the date of delivery we got a note from UPS that the part was damaged. Sears then ordered another part that we had to wait for. Finally got Robert out to install the part and when he got here, he claimed it was a used part and more or less accused us of some trickery or something. He mysteriously had a new one on his truck when we pushed back that this part was ordered by and shipped by Sears. He installed the part and partially cycled the machine ( I say this because of this next part of the saga). After he left we started a load of clothes (down for 3 weeks !!!) and walked to the kitchen. Luckily we walked back shortly thereafter to find the water coming over the top of the case and flooding the downstairs area with .5 of water. got the machine stopped and then started mopping up the flood. Called him back on his cell and he was off duty but swung by in his car. Found the fault in the fill sensor which he had knocked loose/not reconnected when working on the machine. Total cluster on this event. Sears repairs are better than this. Our major concern now is what water damage we have to the machine and the house.at the end of the saga, the guy asked that we not report this event.

The first repairman was nebulous, the second did tell me he could smell an odor coming from the flame but said the over was working well. When I called in on the original service call, I was told over the phone, that the smell coming from the flame was because my oven was dirty....really? Both servicemen who came out acknowledged that it was clean as a whistle. When the gas companys serviceman came out, he could smell the odor right away. Only the second Sears rep. hinted at that. The first Sears rep. couldnt tell at all, and it was very obvious to Reliant, to my family, and to a neighbor........come on.........Basically, as it turns out, there was something in the gas that was creating the odor. I believe the first Sears rep should have known that and acknowledged the odor that would have solved my problem. Instead, it took an additional visit. Also, there was a charge which was covered by my extended warranty...and that charge was way to high. When you spend $1,000 for an oven, then a typical service call costs $200, that is way to high and all they did was stand around and click on a meter.

I was told a repair man would be at my house between 1 and 5:00 p.m. I was contacted at 5:20 pm and informed by my repair man, whom I could barely understand because of his very thick accent, that he would be at least 1 hour later because of traffic. He asked on the phone that I confirm what my issue/problem was with the refrigerator. From what I communicated on the phone, he told me that is normal. I think he was trying to get out of having to come at all. I told him I scheduled the repair and would like him to come check out the issue anyway. He agreed somewhat grudgingly. Upon arrival at my home he did not greet my husband at the door but simply entered my home without comment. Unbelievable! He pulled out the refrigerator and hooked up his sensors and told us several technical things that made little to no sense to us and when he could not replicate the noise in question he said it could be several different things. He then proceeded to test the compressor and said if we were ever to have it replaced there was a good likelihood that any installer would damage a small wire in the process and we should not replace a compressor. Really?? He then tried to blame the mystery noise on our uneven tile floor, which was was uneven because he had pulled out the unit. Had he checked the balance where the unit typically sits he would have seen that it is perfectly balanced in that location (which the installer leveled upon delivery.) This repair man did very little to build my confidence in his ability or Sears maintenance departments ability to repair any broken appliance. At least I agree with him on this: his coming to my house to determine if our issue was in need or repair was a monumental waste of both our time! I will keep his name and specifically request he NOT return to my home for any future repairs.

Now I can’t get the other two burners to light at all unless they’re on high heat, and the clicking and non-lighting on the others continues. I needed it fixed before yesterday because I had neighbors over for dinner last night, but of course when I called Sears back to say it was worse than ever and I needed it fixed before Saturday, the soonest they could get someone out here is this next Tuesday. Seriously? But it got worse from there. The rep actually tried to sell me a “free estimate” for a kitchen/bath remodel. Unbelievable. If you hear how upset I am that my stove is a complete disaster now, why in the world would you try to sell me anything else??? The capper of all was when she said she would send the same guy back out ... uh, no. Clearly he didn’t have a clue what he was doing. My five-year-old niece could have done a better job.

Very happy with the service -- called for fridge repair on a non-functioning icemaker. The technician was helpful, thorough and walked us through what to look for in case any issues might arise. There was an issue with our fridge model, and he left information with us on what the problem was and how it was being addressed. The service was not cheap, but it was reasonable and I feel happy with the outcome.

I am extremely disappointed in Sears. They continually got my scheduling messed up. I am currently going on over 3 weeks to wait for parts to come in that were supposed to be received in only 1 week! The only good thing I can say about them is the subs they work with are great to work with. Too bad those subs are at the mercy of Sears.

It took two months to get the refrigerator repaired. Following the repair there was a noise in the freezer compartment. It was the fan rubbing against the housing. I pulled the housing out as much as I could so that it quit rubbing. However, the upper rack started falling of the support several times and I had to remove it. the interior seems to be wider than it was before the repair. One week following the repair, the unit started making a noise and is now starting to warm up again. I was without the frig for two months prior to the first repair and now I am without it again. After five repairs they replaced the frig. The process of replacement was seamless and the in-store customer service was excellent.

Very unhappy with the service. Its been over 3 weeks since I called for servive in my washing machine and it is still not fixed. They came out as scheduled the first time but needed a part. I paid a deposit and they scheduled the return for over a week later. They did not call me and had the wrong phone number so when I expected them to arrive thy never came. I did not get an email updating me either. I called to inquire what was going on and could only talk to a representative from another country that gave me a hard time. He could only look up my account by my phone number and since they had the wrong one it was like I hit a road block and there was nothing he could do. Finally he found me and let me know the part was back ordered but could not tell me when it would be available. He updated my number in the system and told me someone would be calling me to tell me when to reschedule. I never received a call so after about a week I called back. This time I spoke to a nice lady that also had trouble finding me by my phone number because the last guy put a number in wrong. She corrected the number and told me Simone would be calling me to reschedule. That was last Friday and today is Thursday and I have not received a call. How long will I have to be without a washing machine. Now this is my fault but I have 7 children and lots of clothes to wash!! I dont know why someone from Sears cant call me with an ETA and get it fixed. Frustrated!

My Kenmore side by side refrigerator/freezer was running continuously, food in refrigerator was freezing. Repairman came out and thought it was the thermostat had gone out. Apparently a screw with a washer was left in the control panel on the circuit board. In the area I live, the electricity was having outages and possibly had power surges. The screw with the washer arched and that was the cause. I am thankful to the repairman that came was very honest with me about what was the problem and not scam me into paying for a new thermostat when I didnt need one.Apparently the screw and washer was left there at the factory. My refrigerator is 15 years old and this was the first time I had to have it worked on.

Horrible. I bought the extended warranty because if good past experience with the sears service. However; that was several years ago. I was told the service man would have all the necessary parts, filter, blades, etc. to perform the silver service on the craftsman zero turn mower. They had model and serial number. When serviceman called to let us know he was 20 minutes out, he assured me he had all the parts to perform the service ordered. He had none of the parts except the oil and required payment in full, 220 dollars, so he could order and have shipped to me. Lies from both store and service man. Wasted money on a service contract. No wonder sears is going broke!! Love the machine, hate the service.

The first Tech came out on a Wednesday, replaced the circuit board in the fridge and indicated the unit should return to a normal temperature within 24 hours. 24 hours later the temp actually went up 2 degrees. Sears responded quickly by send another Tech on Friday. The second tech found the temp sensor buried in ice because of the failing insulation between the freezer and fridge. Once the sensor was freed from the ice, the fridge starting working again. All I want to say about Tech one is, its not always changing parts that fixes the problem. A little common sense goes a long way. Kudos to Tech #2! He got us going again.

We were told that it would take about 24 hours for the system to start working. Waited 24 hours, still not working. I checked the water supply and found it had not been turned back on. Referred to manual, 24 hours is for the water to get cool. System should have started working when part was changed.

Superfast repair by a well qualified technician. Sure glad this was on a maintenance agreement. Couldnt have afforded the repair otherwise. Technician was here less than 15 minutes and fixed ice maker by tightening one screw that held the ice maker in place. No problems since. Without the maintenance agreement, repair cost would have been over $200.

My icemaker had failed, so put in for service call. The first day scheduled had ice storm, so service call was cancelled. After a week, I called Big Country appliance to find out when tech would be coming. The lady on phone said they had no record of a service call for me. I called sears, and they called repair company and scheduled service for a week later. Tech arrived and found that he did not have parts for that model frig. Two weeks later, another tech arrived and changed out the water valve, which fixed the problem. would have rated better if Big Country had not caused problems by losing my service call, and sending tech ill prepared for the model appliance that i had.

The service hasnt been completed yet because we have not been shipped the parts - almost a month after the service call was made. The technician that came was great, very polite and professional. Repair persons were very helpful. They worked hard to repair a reoccurring problem. They went the extra mile to diagnose the issue and determined that it was not repairable - and submitted a request to have the refrigerator replaced. The replacement was approved in 2 days and we had a new refrigerator in 3 days. Very satisfied with the whole process.

Our oven had a gas leak that they were able to fix. However they didn’t turn the safety switch back off so our oven didn’t work until they had to come back and service it again. The repairman was nice, but definetly a hassle when you think your oven is fixed, but they “broke” something else.

Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. Spent over 23 hours on phone, 8 service appointments at our house - never on time, hung up on 6 times - technicians were there to witness it...Should I go on? I have emailed Sears Cares twice, no response - one of those emails was sent 6 months ago! We are now on our 6th combined week with no working fridge or freezer and Sears is STILL unwilling to replace. Will NEVER do business with Sears again and have spread the word in every way possible so my friends and family will not have to go through the same situation we have.

Sears really deserved a zero star review... They were fast as lightning to charge my credit card but in two days of scheduled appointments the technician has not showed up and has not been professional enough to call us and let us know... Two days wasted of our time and without a fridge because it is not working... Worst experience ever... And the funny part is when I tried to cancel, in the first try the warranty service people did not find my phone on the system and the representative told me I could not cancel because they could not confirm my phone number on my account... I tried a second time and magically they found it...
