Don’t get a haircut here!I asked for a taper skin fade and an inch off the top. She chopped off 2/3 of my hair and gave me a medium fade. Instead of using scissors and methodically cutting the top, she just lifted my hair with a comb, eyeballed it and razored it off. They don’t care for quality, the number of customers are going to be high due to it being a NEX.

I go here because its convenient, cheaper than AAFES, and I have low expectations. Ive easily gotten over 50 haircuts here and only refused to tip one time (low fade turned into a high and tight....). Ill continue to be a customer for the remainder of my time in Hawaii.

I have consistently had the same bad experience with NEX Barbers. I have asked for the same exact haircut every time and every time they have ruined my hair in new and surprising ways. I don’t think anything is confusing about asking for a medium fade with a one guard and NOTHING off the top. Seems like a pretty standard haircut for most military coming in. The length is fine but the fade needs cleaned up every few weeks. Standard maintenance kind of thing. So today I come in and ask for the same haircut I always do and sure enough after working on my fade for two minutes my barber runs right over the top of my head with the same clippers. Not only was it not the haircut I asked for, it’s not the haircut anyone in their right mind would ask for. It looked objectively bad from every angle. The fade wasn’t even decent which is the only thing I came in for. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect NEX barbers to be the all-stars of haircuts, but I would expect they could at least produce a professional looking haircut or at a minimum a clean fade. $14 to the walk out with an embarrassingly bad haircut is worse than robbery. I would recommend getting your haircut anywhere else. Even if you’re absolutely desperate, I would even hit up a super cuts or a great clips before I ever come back to a NEX barber.

My 4 and 6 yr old boys got awesome military style cuts. Very pleased and especially with the price.

Ive been to military barber shops all over the world. This is one of the best. Ive had a few mehhh cuts here, but if you consider a simple mens cut out in town costs three times as much, its worth the gamble. Theres some annoying super gungho covid precautions that make the wait longer than normal because government, but it isnt too bad early in the day and they give you a buzzer so you can roam around.

Usually pretty busy. When you walk in, they ask to see military ID, have you sanitize your hands and then give you the electronic hand held buzzing device which they sanitize and then have you go back outside to the social distancing waiting area until buzzed.When you walk in they have you sanitize your hands again and then proceed to the next barber or your selected barber you choose. My son and I have been using Brianne for over 10 yrs. Nice lady, quick haircut, vacuums the cut hair off of your head, and then gives you a short head and neck massage.

Typical Covid health questions. Barbers do a decent job however $14 for a medium fade is outrageous. Usually some sort of wait before entry.

You have one of three outcomes when it comes to getting a haircut here. Either its really good, okay, or just terrible. Trust me, Ive had all three. So if youre a gambler and you like your chances whenever you decide on going to get cut, this is the place to do so.

Good place to get a haircut, must have military ID. Around $12, most of the barbers know what theyre doing. Very convenient hours. Beware, if you do not go in uniform it will take forever as they have a rule that anyone in uniform can cut the line.

The haircuts are very affordable, barbers are friendly, and the wait time is pretty quick. The downside is some of the barbers arent very skilled at their craft so you may have to be vocal and be persistent.

Doesn’t matter what kind of haircut you ask for. You will get a skin to fade.

Would you like the most uncaring haircut you have ever had? Then come here. You can be nice to some ladies and explain to them how to manage your hair and they would care less... Destroyed my part line in 2 seconds and pretended nothing was wrong. Classy

I consistently have a poor experience every time I go here.Ive seen almost every haircut stylist here for my military haircut and every single one of them seems to believe it is a race to get the haircut done. If you only get your haircut once a month then this is a good place to go for cheap otherwise go somewhere else and spend the money for a good haircut.

The consistency of getting a good haircut here is pretty bad. I’ve had to have other stylist step in to finish because the original could get a fade right or cut hair evenly. Wouldn’t recommend at all for anything more complex than a simple clippers all around with no fade

Asked for a medium fade and got completely screwed over with a extremely high fade. Shaved the rest of my hair off. Thanks for ruining my hair that took me 6 months to grow out

This is a pretty decent place to get your haircut at a reasonable price for being in hawaii. The only real issue I have with this place is that it always seems to be busy whenever I need to get a haircut. I have gotten lucky once or twice with an almost empty shop but thats a rarity.

Decent quick military cuts.

My hubby comes here often because they cut your hair quick and they stay open in the evening on Sunday. Their wait time is usually less than 15 mins so you wont be there long. Unfortunately a quick haircut isnt a quality haircut. Sometimes theyll get your fade too high or crooked. Dont be discouraged to go back and ask for a fix.

Very busy on the weekends, could take 10 min to get seated could take 30, and they will skip your number if your not paying attention or stepped outside.Make them repeat your cut back to you or youll end up with whatever...

I walked in and about 15 minutes later walked out with a medium fade. One of the faster (while maintaining quality) exchange barber shops I’ve been to. The only downside to this place is that you kinda have to know it’s there, it’s kinda hidden around the side, away from the main entrance.

Every time my husband and our son go to get their haircut, it gets messed up. They don’t understand English to know what to do. This time, my sons left side of his hair wasn’t even touched. My husband is too quiet to complain while they are there.

It can get busy but a great place to get a haircut for a good price.

Had my sons hair cut here and it was horrible. Asked for a fade and didnt get one. Didnt cut the front of his hair right and left a bald patch on the side. Cut sideburns uneven. I had to take him somewhere else and pay to have them try to salvage his hair. I should have refused to pay for the disaster. Will never go there again.

So I usually get my hair cut by k Bay but I live like 4 mins away from the nex so I was like let me give it a shot I wasnt expecting anything nice at all. Lol everybody in the military knows to get a cut at the nex or px is at your own risk. So I go and my number was called. Okay so if you go past the first turn and the second one theres only one lady there and I could have punched that lady in the neck . Ive never had my head thrown around like that. It was abuse and she was rude as you know what. And I did everything she told me to do and she still wasnt satisfied. And I still tipped her and for all that she still messed up my head. God dont like ugly. Smh she needs to be removed
