Excellent Service.Very well trained and intelligent mechanics.I had my transmission rebuilt twice by Generation Transmission in Warren, OR, now moved to Thomas Transmission in Longview, WA; They just couldnt get it right, and apparently a lot of mechanics cant either.But Maddies Garage did.They got it right the first time.They know their stuff.Very Very good mechanics.I recommend them to all.

I literally can’t say enough good things about John and his guys at Maddies. First this is that these are really friendly, and incredibly honest guys. I was referred to John first by a jeep specific shop for a diagnostic on my jeep. I had three different mechanics try and fail to fix what John eventually found out was a misfire. Every time I took it somewhere else that would say “we fixed the bogging issue” and it would return after 200 miles. John went above and beyond when diagnosing my vehicle, fixed the issue, did a few other things that my wrangler needed and topped it all of with a fresh oil change as he knew my car had been sitting. A week later my fiancé needed to get the steering rack and pinion done as well as tie rods and John got all of that done for us in an incredibly timely manner as well on his subaru wrx. He also was incredibly honest about a billing issue (that I would have never noticed because I was so impressed with his work) and made sure to make it right when so many others would have pocketed any extra cash. I’m incredibly impressed with Maddies garage and will be bringing all of my cars to him in the future. If you’re looking for somewhere that you know is going to be reliable, forthcoming with any information you need and is going to get the job done right, Maddies garage comes highly recommended from me.

I dont know how we heard of this garage, its been quite a while ago. We have a couple of delivery vans that John and his crew take care of for us. Both vans (bought used) came with some serious and complicated issues, and these good people have patiently worked through everything with us. We have spend a lot of $$$ here, but never, ever felt that there was an unfair charge. We appreciate the knowledge, integrity, and good customer service of the folks at Maddies!

Maddie’s replaced the Head Gasket in my 2009 Subaru. The mechanic who examined my car a year later, when I sold it, said it was the best work he’d seen. I got top of KBB because the work was done so well! I highly recommend getting your service work done here.

Ever since Ive had my car Ive taken it to Maddies. The service is amazing. They have always been quick and their quotes are always similar to the final price. Ive never felt pressured with tricks to spend more money either. I feel theyre very honest mechanics. Carter was very nice with the service I needed done, especially when I had questions and needed to reschedule. I would definitely recommend them and Ill keep going here.

My wife and I have had all of our vehicles serviced by Maddies since we moved up to Oregon. In the two years we have been here they have helped us with three different cars each having different problems. They always have done a great job taking care of the services the cars need and taking into account our needs as well with timing. Ill be going to them as long as they are around.

I called Maddies garage and told them my car was leaking antifreeze and needed it to get in ASAP. They were more than happy to get me in and fix my problem. He called me and told me that there were 2 other issues that needed to be fixed. He asked me before he repaired them. I thought that was amazing that they do that. A day later my car was ready I told him I was having issues trying to get my car due to the fact I am taking care of my mom and she cant be left alone. Told him I would try to be there the next day or so. He told me he would be more than happy to bring me my car. Amazing customer service. I will recommend them to all my friends. I was referred to Maddies garage from a Jeep forum online. My Jeep XJ was running fine but when it was really cold out it wouldnt start. I had other mechanics wanting to replace parts that worked fine when it was warm out. When I took it to Maddies they ran some test and found it to be a sensor that worked with the system that helps start in cold weather. He only charged me for diagnoses and the sensor, its was under $200. Im so glad I was referred here and didnt listen to the other shop! Would def recommend them and will be back in the future!

I have a 1977 Datsun 280z. I took it in to John the head mechanic he gave me a wonderful explanation of what needed to be done with the car. I was quite surprised at the amount of things they go over with just their basic check list, and for only around $120. And when you have them fix the car they wave that fee. Cool. They are definitely my go to mechanic when I cant fix things my self.

Went here to get my car checked it wasn’t driving they fixed that issue but as soon as I started driving the car started making strange noises now their saying I have to replace the engine honestly I’m just disappointed they didn’t tell me that before I payed them

My ‘14 Tundra was suffering from ‘couping’ front passenger tire, after a 3” Toytech boss-lift kit, done at another shop. I took it to 3 different shops before finding Maddie’s; all of them could not resolve the issue, they will put it on the alignment rack and say is within spec, is not an alignment issue, yet I was seeing my tires being destroyed. I had lost hope, but decided to take it here as John as highly recommended by a friend of mine. They inspected everything an explained the issue to their alignment specialist, got my truck back and I was doubtful, but drove the truck and made a trip to Moab pulling my jeep and guess what? My tire wear issue was gone!!! I now have driven 6k miles and the issue is gone, I did rotate my tires and the new tire there is clean!

Quite possibly the best garage I have ever been to. I know less than nothing about cars, but I do know that I love my car and do not want to have to get rid of it just because it is older and starting have problems. John did an incredible job making my car run better than ever, and now I get to look forward to just enjoying my car, not being stressed about trying to afford a car payment. Great customer service, fast turn around time, and reasonable rates! Best shop Ive been to in a long time. They diagnosed my problem quickly and had my truck running again in no time. He even suggested some options on how to save money on the tow to his shop. Went the extra mile by pointing out some of the things that needed to be done in the future before they break, giving me the time I need to budget the expense and fix them proactively, instead of having to figure out how Im going to be able to afford an immediate fix after they break.Great experience, will definitely be back!

My wife and I first took our car in to Maddies because of the good reviews online and they definitely lived up to our expectations. We were greeted by John who was very friendly (as well as his dog Henry who was just as friendly), we spoke about our cars issues for a moment, dropped off the key and went our our way. Later that day we received a call informing us of the problem, the estimate and the option of coming to pick up a rental while the part arrived for the cost of gas and proof of insurance! We picked up our car on Monday (we dropped it off before the weekend) and it drove great. We ended up taking it back to have something else fixed as well and our experience was equally as pleasant.If youre looking for simple, honest car repair for a fair price from people who know their stuff I highly recommend Maddies Garage.

Ive been meaning to review Maddies since they fixed the brakes on my F250 a few months ago. I found them by search for local mechanics on Google Maps. After comparing a ton of reviews of several different mechanics, I decided Maddies deserved a shot.Having just moved to the area (far, far away from my regular guy) I wasnt merely in the market for a brake job, but a garage Id be comfortable returning to for all routine maintenance, and issues. The way they treated my girlfriend and I on this one job was reason enough to remember them the next time we needed work.They were up front about the work being done, and the potential cost. Simple, but appreciated.After evaluating the state of my brakes, we were given concise, honest assessment. Parts that were still serviceable were identified, as well as parts that needed to be replaced. They didnt try to gouge us, or pad the bill. Given the way my truck was driving, we honestly wouldnt have been surprised if the parts bill had been much more than it was.Their inspection revealed several other areas in need of maintenance. Some seem skeptical about this aspect of service, but Ive never met a mechanic that didnt do it. I have met plenty of mechanics that try to make emergencies out of the most mundane things, and really push their customers to get everything done right away. They presented their inspection findings in a very matter-of-fact way. Identifying priority areas that would become serious problems if left alone, as well as several minor nuisance items. They were quick to quote me for the work I was interested in, and left alone the work I wasnt ready to have done.All in all, it was a very fair and equitable experience. Ive had less exposure to them than my girlfriend, as shes typically the one that takes in the cars. She has nothing but glowing things to say about their friendliness, professionalism, honesty, and technical knowledge.A lot of being satisfied comes with knowing what to expect in the first place. In our experience, Maddies makes a point of clearly setting those expectations. They havent done an hour of work that we didnt authorize first; thus, no surprises on the invoice.We recently had them perform an oil change, and inspection on our MDX. The results of the inspection were minimal, as it is much newer than the F250, but just as thoroughly and clearly explained. Well definitely be back.

John and his crew are the best mechanics I have ever worked with in all my years of owning cars. Really wish I had discovered Maddies Garage sooner! ASE certified, very professional crew, great customer service, excellent work quality and timely delivery with very fair prices - what more can one ask for?I have had a really difficult vibration problem with my Jeep that 2 other shops have failed to even diagnose properly. John has been great in getting to the real cause of the problem instead of unnecessary and/or band-aid fixes that the other places sold me and implemented shoddily. He is thorough, systematic, methodical and takes the time to fully explain what is happening and what needs to be done to fix it right (i.e educating the customer) instead of just selling a fix or a part.In todays age where making a profit trumps everything at most businesses, its very refreshing to see a place like Maddies garage that is old school in terms of what are they are in business for - making a living while helping people the very best they can. For years I have taken my cars to Maddies Garage, and have always received kind, honest service and workmanship. I have had the experience of being the recepient of defective parts that were not the shops fault, and they were extremely helpful and quickly covered the replacements under warranty.My last repair was a complete success after we thought it could be a water pump making the noise, but it was belts which the shop covered under warranty.Additionally, there can be a loaner car available that is extremely helpful for those of us who only have one vehicle. The repair costs are very reasonable, and their honest service is one you will not find in many other places which money can not buy! Thank you!

John has worked on my son and Is cars on several occasions over the years and whether it is large repair or minor I am always confident that the issue will be taken care of when my vehicle leaves his shop. John will provide me with a short and long list of repairs that make sense for the vehicle in question so that I am sure to stay on top of the maintenance and can plan for it financially. In addition to John being a talented mechanic and a true professional in his field, he is a genuinely nice/good guy which shines through in the customer service he and his staff provides their patrons.

I took my ford e250 is to get my brakes fixed because they suddenly locked up on me. And John fix my brakes and my rear Axel for a reasonable price. But my breaks was still locking up and so took it back to him. He found out that my abs was probably causing it. He fixed it with no extra charge and my van is run perfect.Im glad I took my van to Maddies garage.

John did a complete engine rebuild and transmission replacement on a 1968 Datsun Roadster. His attention to detail was outstanding. I took our radio stations (KQRZ FM 101.5 Oldies Radio) 1996 4.0L Jeep Laredo in for a water pump change, tune-up, and some oil leak work that was way over due. I also had John look over a transmission shifting issue that we had. I have never been so pleased and happy after taking our Jeep to this repair facility. These folks are awesome! We are very happy with their work quality. The Jeep hasnt run this well since it was new! The transmission is running great too! John knows his nuts and bolts! Super service!!!!! So refreshing to find a repair shop that you can trust!! Limped my truck in to get looked at and was almost to the point of getting rid of it because I did not think it would be cost effective to fix. Maddies proved me wrong and I have an excellent running truck with a DEQ PASS slip to prove it!!!John and Ginis communication was excellent and I never felt that I was being taken advantage of. I was extremely pleased with my visit to Maddies Garage. The owner, John, was very friendly. Being a younger female I am always a little weary to go in to get my car worked on, as I feel sometimes businesses try to sell you things you dont need or pressure you into buying certain parts. I went in for a diagnosis, due to a leak under my car. He showed me exactly what the problem was and exactly how much it would cost and when it was time to pay the bill was exactly what he said, no hidden charges or oh we had to do this so it was an extra $50. I had my distributor changed here. Was charged an inflated price of 527 for the part alone, just to have it go out about a year and half later. Though he charged me for a better part, it went out and the warranty was only 1 year. I had to have it re-done at another shop where they charged me 363 for the part with a two year warranty. Had I gone to another shop it would have been covered under warranty, maybe even not have gone out. Save yourself time, money, and stress and find another shop.

We contacted Maddies Garage to find a workable solution to improving our Prius headlights so we would have better light for night time road rallies. They suggested we try some replacement bulbs - much simpler than the online bits we saw regarding basically rebuilding the light system to allow a Prius to have better lightting.The bottom line - the new lights are so much better than stock. I own a 96 Honda Accord and although many call it a beater call, it is my baby and I plan to get a few more years out of her thanks to Maddies Garage! A few months ago it looked like I was going to have to put her down- she was making awful noises, leaking fluid, etc. etc. The first mechanic I took it to gave me a call days after I had it towed to them and left me in tears. He was awful and abrupt basically telling me that it was time to write a eulogy because my Honda was a goner. THANK GOD I got a second opinion at Maddies Garage. John was so kind and calm, he immediately put my panic self at ease. John took care of my Honda like it was his own- he diagnosed the problem then he and his team quickly and efficiently took care of it and at a great price to boot! My car has never drove better. I am so grateful to Maddies Garage and will never let another mechanic touch my baby! I recommend anyone who wants to give their car the best possible service to take it John. Maddies Garage rocks!

Ive had numerous bad experiences at dealerships, but never here!

I took my vehicle into Maddies because they were in the neighborhood and they had good reviews. I took my vehicle in to have the A/C recharged and check the service engine light. They tested the A/C system since it was not cold to see if it was ok to refill. After testing John called me to let me know that the A/C system looked good and that I could have them recharge it. So far I was at $60 for the diagnosis and A/C testing. After he told me the service engine light may be fixed if a tune up was done for a whopping $780 I declined. Since he said the A/C tested good I asked him how much it would be to recharge the A/C. He said that would be $209 (meaning this would be my total bill) all together, so I thought about it and told him to go ahead. When I got to the shop to pick up my vehicle I was told the total was now $229.29. I was told this was for extra refrigerant; however the total refridgerant cost on the invoice stated $28.97. Needless to say I was not very happy with that but paid and left enjoying my now recharged A/C. The next day I noticed the A/C was not cooling down well at all. I even let it run for 10-15 min and it barely cooled down so I stopped by Maddies Garage and showed John and another technician the issue. He told me to bring it in the morning and he would take a look at it. By the next day the A/C was almost nonexistent so I dropped of my vehicle for testing. Later that day I got a call from one of Johns technicians who told me they found that both (since I have 2) evaporator cores were leaking and that the holes were too small for the dye to leak out. I was told that to change both cores would cost over $1700 so naturally I declined as it seemed way overpriced. They were nice enough to bring my vehicle to me and did not charge me to check it again but they did not offer to give me any kind of refund for their mistake of misdiagnosis. Had I known that the A/C would not hold I would not have elected to recharge it. Im sure they probably do good work on some things but A/C servicing is most certainly NOT their specialty. I feel like I got taken advantage of and do not plan to return to Maddies Garage.

We are new to the area and heard a commercial for Maddies Garage on our favorite radio station, KQRZ 100.7, and made a note to self to remember them when the time came for auto work.Well sure enough my 2000 Toyota Tundra became ill when some spark plugs and coils wore out and I took it to Maddies. I couldnt be more pleased with the work the team did at a fair price, as well as the staight forward honest assessment of some issues I know I will need to address down the road.They were even thoughtful enough to maintain the lost art of mailing a hand written note thanking our family for our business. The picture of our new favorite dog, Henry, didnt hurt either.I highly recommend John, Gini and the crew at Maddies Garage for your auto needs and encourage anyone out there to keep your business local, small and with a good family.Cheers,C. Gini was nice and I enjoyed playing with her dog while waiting.I will not be going back to this shop for a few reasons:I went in to be checked for a possible vacuum leak and an exhaust rattle. I needed to know where the leak was so I could replace the part.John told me the leak was somewhere under the throttle body. That was not in any way helpful to me.He said we should change fuel injectors and PCV valve. I feel like they are just trying to get more money out of me. My car doesnt have a PCV valve and the injectors were neither brittle or even close to any vacuum lines. John did not diagnose the rattle like I asked so I had to come back a couple weeks later. John then diagnosed the rattle as a broken cat.I later found the cracked vacuum line myself and replaced it for $3 myself in 10 minutes. I took my car to Eds Mufflers and he found a loose exhaust flange.They didnt charge me anything, it made the check engine light go away and now my car runs great.John, the owner of Maddies Garage has proven to be dishonest. I suggest not trusting them with your vehicle.

Actually went there to have nothing fixed in the end, but Mike was really friendly and helpful and I will bring my car here for regular maintenance.

My experience at Maddies is very good. He did a full evaluation of my Ford e-150 and immediately realized what the fault was. He gave me a quote and it took him more time and work than expected. I feel very calm driving now. Thank you so much for everything!!
