While this isnt the worst apartment experience I have had, it certainly isnt the best.My biggest issue is the amount of dog waste in this community. I am a dog owner and pick up after my dog, however I know this is not always the case. I have lived in other communities that have had similar issues but NEVER this bad. Ive reached out to the leasing office at least 3 times in the past 4 months to address the issue and the response has been the same each time we are working on it. However, I have yet to even see any kind of communication from the office regarding this issue. We received frequent communication from the office, including addressing the issue of leashed dogs - but never to pick up after your dog. Though this might not solve the issue completely, at least it will be brought to the attention of some people who dont clean up after their pet. This isnt one or two instances, there is an entire grassy area that is impossible to walk through without stepping in feces and there is even dog waste on the sidewalk! There are other instances that showcase the lack of desire by management to maintain this community, however this is the biggest issue. My apartment is decent, Ive noticed that there are several cosmetic issues within my apartment that have been cheaply repaired, but that is not shocking.Otherwise living here isnt too bad. I live in the back of the community so it is pretty quiet and the people who live here are nice. I got a really go deal on my 1bd apartment - but for what they are charging now and what you get - I wouldnt recommend moving here.

I absolutely love living in the South Ridge Apartments! The location, quality of the apartments, amenities and the price are unmatched. From the first day I started my apartment hunt, to the move in process and while living here, Reed and Hannah have been amazing. Every question and email I send is responded to promptly that has a clear answer to my questions. My apartment itself is GREAT. No complaints, well cleaned before move in, I never hear noises coming from my neighbors apartments while in my own (which was very important to me!). The amenities and common spaces are spotless. I love living in a clean, friendly apartment complex :) Highly recommend to anyone!

We moved into South Ridge in the summer of 2020, and have had a wonderful experience. The location cant be beat with the short walk to get onto the Swamp Rabbit trail, with leisurely walks to Cleveland Park or downtown. Reed was phenomenal in helping us find a unit that fit our needs, got us a great rate, and has been responsive to any needs we have. We have had a couple of maintenance issues that got taken care of quickly. With new management in place and the pandemic starting to slow, we will finally be able to enjoy more amenities here, and the social events that they have been putting together are a lot of fun! Definitely recommend.

I have lived here for over two years now and I can tell that the current management team in the leasing office does everything they can to make their residents of South Ridge satisfied. They were more than accommodating when we got our new puppy. They even supplied us with dog food, dog treats, and puppy pads. We were extremely grateful for their patience with us. The first year we lived here, there were some issues. Ex: The fire alarm went off 2-3 times, weekly; sometimes at 2:00 am. It was not ideal. This issue did not seem to get much attention at all until new management arrived. Now, they never go off and there are no more surprise alarms in the middle of the night. Another issue before was the garage gate constantly being broken. While it is not broken as often anymore, my only frustration now is that the reserved parking is not enforced at all. So the $50/person per month we pay for my boyfriend and I to have key fobs to park on our floor feels like a waste of money when many people park for free. There has been a major change in customer service since 2019 and it is definitely for the better. We have really enjoyed the location and atmosphere of South Ridge and we are looking forward to another year. Thank you, management team, for caring about your residents. Youre doing a great job.

I appreciate the new management and office team. They seem to be enforcing policies and holding residents responsible for their actions. Previous office team allowed South Ridge to become  a place where there was no accountability and did not seem to enforced any rules. Based on the newer reviews, I assume half of these have received lease violations. The new maintenance supervisor seems to actually know what he doing and not letting things linger.I’d still recommend leasing at South Ridge. Just be aware of your neighbors and report an issues seen to the office.

My husband and I were looking to relocate to an apartment after selling our home, and we had a phenomenal leasing experience with Reed and Annemarie. We were looking at several other properties in the downtown Greenville area, and our experience with the staff at South Ridge made our decision easy (and they were able to get us a great rate!). Once we made our decision, the paperwork process was very streamlined. We were on a relatively tight timeline, and all of our questions were answered promptly, and we were given all the information we needed in a timely fashion. We are still in the process of moving in, but we love our new unit and Reed and Annemarie have been so helpful and made sure everything was ready to go. We look forward to enjoying our new home!

Having lived at Southridge for approximately three years, we have had our ups and downs. One of the ups has always been our excellent maintenance crew. Things happen - no matter where one lives. However, the Southridge maintenance crew is excellent. They are always ready to assist us and usually get things right away. The management team is improving daily. With Covid19, they have had many challenges and I am happy to say they are doing their best with our customer support issues. They, too...especially Reed, is very supportive to our needs and issues. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere before moving in here. The management group will find a way to get every penny out of you that they can.The leasing office is apathetic at best. Despite the nice look from the exterior the complex is very dirty. Not to mention that the fire alarms will go off in the middle of the night twice a week. I recently tore my ACL and sent a request to Reed and Annemarie to transfer to a more accessible apartment once I had surgery since I would be basically immobile. I said I would be willing to pay rent on my old apartment as well as the new since it was short notice. They told me this was not possible and there was nothing they could do. So I contacted the corporate office and they told me of course I could transfer apartments and they would be willing to help. I will give Reed credit for being helpful during the initial leasing process, but once you move in him and Annemarie could not be less helpful. Hallways are never clean, fire alarm goes off almost nightly, and when I moved in there were dead cockroaches on the floor. Also have been yelled at for not wearing a mask in the mail room by Annemarie who was also not wearing a mask.

It was a mistake to deal with this unprofessional company. There were dead roaches throughout the apartment. I never moved into the unit. I immediately turned in my keys to the office. Unfortunately, they already had $1,253 of my money. I was told that my money will be refunded, but I have not received any written confirmation from management. I’ve attempted to call the corporate office several times. I’ve also sent emails. The next thing will be legal action.I do not recommend this community. Please look elsewhere.

Reed could not be more unhelpful. Do not get excited by the location, there are much better options. The elevator is broken at least once a week, fire alarms go off in the middle of the night weekly, and there is no system in place to allow you in the building if your key fab stops working outside of the leasing offices hours. My key fab has stopped working 3 times in the past two months due to their own systems faults and I have been locked out of the building sometimes as late as midnight, with no way in, when I have the late shift at work. They fine you for every little violation and the hallways can get extremely mess. I will be moving out the minute my lease expires.

Wi
Review №36

I dont normally write reviews but in this case it seems the only way to elicit response from the property managers.Previous management was tremendous, this of course was pre covid when managers had a say in how the building was operated.Being charged for additional key fobs was not an issue, it was convenient and i was willing to pay for the offered product.Having them confiscated without reimbursement was a tough sell, the building management experienced programming issues with exit/entry gates meaning everyone had to turn in their fobs for reprogramming, this of course ensured 1 fob per resident to be doled out. If your significant other was not a paying resident, then you will have to throw down a key from your balcony. After numerous attempts to reason other the fact i was charged $40-50 per extra fob, i was reminded of policy, regardless of the physical reality i had been sold products.Elevator 1 was and remains a unreliable route to enter/exit the building.Less than two weeks ago i found myself trapped in #1 for just over an hour. The building is in the heart of downtown Greenville and the city hosts tens of thousand of multi level residents who rely upon elevators to carry furniture, belongings, groceries etc to the floor they live on.Given the fact Greenville is such a well equipped place to live, i found myself almost giddy with hilarity when the voice that responded to my emergency call from within Elevator 1 announced that he was finishing up a service call in Asheville NC then hell be heading my way!!Fortunately i was alone in the elevator and the need to use a bathroom did not arise. Had my daughters been trapped alongside me with the need to potty, the sense of urgency might have been a little different..My resolve was to call 911 and was for Greenville Fire Dept to show up and rescue my calm self. The elevator was trapped between floors 5 & 6, the firemen jumped from 6 down onto the top of the elevator car and lifted me out through the escape hatch onto the top of the car and into the elevator shaft, then i climbed out on to floor 6. It was really quite a cool experience, again i had no need to use the bathroom and dinner was being prepared down the street..I emailed the building to report the incident and have yet to be acknowledged. If i was in the building management business in a city as competitive as Greenville, i would have at least apologized for the incident and perhaps unlocked the gym downstairs so i could use the exercise for therapy. The gym hours are now 10am-5pm, unless of course you get there on a sunday at 3pm then youre just unfortunate in your experience as a resident. Finally, toward the end of my lease i requested options on downsizing, changing apartments, ideally i did not want to pay a security deposit to move to another facility or rental so i was being sincere in my request for other apartments in the complex that may be more favorable in my budget, again email silence. No response.I dont believe management to be malicious or uncaring, i honestly believe they are just arbitrary to try to recruit new residents.Policies of course are available online, should you need a copy, just call the office and they will be happy to read them to you should you be lucky enough to make contact.Walking stairs is also good exercise. At just under $1100/month my expectations of living in an apartment building have run its course. The pool, gym, elevator are not options for someone with a M-F 8-5 work life.If you work from home and can repair elevators, this is the place for you.

My boyfriend and I moved to here from Florida, and we thought that this apartment complex was an ideal place in the downtown area, while we have been living here for the past year, I dont think I would recommend living here to my worst enemy. We have had multiple problems starting back when we went to renew our lease and upgrade into our current apartment, the leasing office tried to charge us for every little thing which ended up coming out to a grand total of an extra $1,600 on top of our rent. But while living here, our key fobs to get into the building will randomly stop working, locking us out. and as grateful as we are for the trash service that is supplied, we have been charged an extra $75 for leaving a trash bag on the floor that did not fit into our trash can (all trash bags have to fit into a trash bin in order to be picked up). The dog park that is no more than a year old, is absolutely disgusting and while we understand that picking up after your dog is an owners responsibly, the dog park is not kept up whatsoever. This is considered a luxury apartment complex with tons of wonderful amenities, but we were not able to use the pool, gym, or any of the common areas for months due to covid (understandable) but received absolutely no compensation or rent deduction for the lack of those amenities. Not only do some of the residents that live here not care about their neighbors, is seems like the leasing office employees could care even less, as apologetic as they seem when you come to them with any issues, nothing seems to get done in a timely manner or without it actually getting brought to their attention. We had a minor problem with our toilet, that we had to fix out of our pockets because of the understaffed maintenance which would have taken weeks to get to us. As convenient as this complex is to the downtown area, I am sure there are better options just as close for less of a hassle.

As I am typing this, the fire alarm is going off for the fifth time this morning...! If you work from home, or prefer not to be treated to the blare of the fire alarm between the hours of 5 AM and midnight, you should look elsewhere for an apartment in Greenville. Even more importantly, the current staff and management are extremely uncommunicative and self-serving. When you need to get in touch with them, you have to physically go to the office and hope that someone is there, because they will not answer the phone during business hours or respond to emails. Theyve also shown a complete lack of compassion and awareness throughout the pandemic. Its unbearable!the location is the best part of this complexed. but the leasing office is just all right. not proactive only reactive, sometimes in a defensive way. during this pandemic, they closed office, gym, club house to residents but they never clean or wipe the door handles, elevator buttons, etc those public areas.they constantly adding items to make money, but not the service. for example lately they changed a few more parking spots to use as paid spots, etc. check your contract when you sign because the yearly contract is not a full year, theres about a week less. Its slow for the office to fixed public items, theres a handle on one of the doors broken for months and still not fixed, etc. Dont pick the room near the busy road (like 29) because its very noisy and hard to sleep at night. the rooms have poor sound proof.update: 7/31: another false fire alarm around 12:30 last night... the second one to wake you up in your deep sleep in the middle of the night this week.

I wouldnt recommend this property to really anyone looking to live close to downtown. I would say the only redeemable quality of the place is the actual property. Across the street from falls park, Pool is great, location is pretty close to downtown. Rent is a little on the high side compared to the new properties popping up around greenville. Security officer rocks, super nice guy always there when you need anything. But the property management however is pretty horrible. They dont respond to emails, they dont respond to calls. They dont respond to the text portal. If you are lucky enough to get someone in the office to respond to you they wont take any of your concerns seriously. I sent 5 emails asking to speak to a property manager over 2 months ago and they refuse to respond or meet with me. I have repeatedly reached out and they refuse to take my concerns or attempts to reach out seriously. Would not recommend. I think any number of the properties near by would be a better bet. The Greene has similar rent with a way newer building and nicer property. Mcbee is closer to downtown with similar rent and Ive lived there and would recommend that one over south ridge. I would try any of the new apartments that are all over greenville and skip over this one. The property is decent...but given the property Mangment I wouldnt waste my time.

Do NOT live in building 1. The fire alarm continues to go off frequently (multiple times a month), and often in the middle of the night. Its gotten so bad that no one leaves the building when they go off - everyone assumes it is a false alarm. They say they are actively working to fix it but this issue has been going on for over a year, maybe more. The only elevator to my floor has stopped working on several occasions, which can be a real pain if you live on the higher floors. I feel bad for the staff who are generally very kind people with all the right intentions - unfortunately they have to work for an apartment complex that just does not have it together, or whose management is clearly not putting their money in the right places. I apologize that I must write such a negative review, but I feel it is my duty. If you do want to live here, try to stay away from building 1, where fire alarms are an issue.

I signed a 6 month lease for a studio. Everything was great except the first day I moved in the upstairs neighbor started pacing from wall to wall for hours day and night. My 7 year old daughter was afraid to spend the night calling it the ‘monster upstairs.’ He would pace 11 steps back and forth for up to 4 hours. I contacted management and got no response. I called the peace officer twice during the night and was told he will come by sometime and check on it. Some nights I could only sleep 2 to 3 hours. I had to make other arrangements for my 7 year old because she could not sleep there. The third time I called the peace officer at 3:30 am the only response I got was an automated text at 7am saying ‘Management is aware of the problem and there is no need for me to call again.’ I had to leave and stay at a friend’s house just to sleep. I finally went to management after 2 unreturned calls and spoke with Brittany. She was going to email the tenant upstairs. Nothing changed so a few days later I went to see Brittany again, she said there is nothing they can do but follow the ‘process that is in place’ and that takes time but could not give me a timeframe. Two weeks into this mess Brittany said I just have to wait it out, didn’t offer another apartment or any other accommodations. She said the tenant has not been a problem before.I had to break the lease so I can sleep again and be with my daughter. Brittany was very unfriendly. I ended up paying over $5000 for a studio I lived in for only two weeks and they even charged me $40 per month for 2 months for water use and also for trash pick up even though I handed over the keys the day I broke the lease. As a newly separated mother I could not afford to have my credit ruined. It was the worst experience I have ever had with a business and would not wish it on anyone else. I ended up staying in a hotel until I could find another place to live. The management at South Ridge apartments was more focused on getting all their money than treating a tenant fairly and doing the right thing.

I was met with immediate defensiveness followed by the employee preaching to me and telling me that “it was not their job to baby sit adults”. I have never had such a poor customer service experience in my life. I don’t care how good the location may or may not be, please, never subject yourselves to living here. If I could give it no stars I would.

Top-Shelf Living. I just moved in and love it. I feel like Im living at a vacation resort! The apartment layout is the perfect use of space. My kitchen is gorgeous. I love the large tub and counter space in the bathroom. For the cost, luxury, proximity to downtown and the swamp rabbit trail, and parking and storage options, you cant beat it. Kendra in the leasing office has been super helpful and responsive.

I have had to email at least two times about the amount of dirt in this building, someone was sent when I first complained and that was it. I truly do not thing when a leasee complains should be the only time the hallway/elevator/stairs should be cleaned. I do not even want to touch anything from my door to outside, it is absolutely disgusting. I hope a routine cleaning can start ASAP. If this is too far beyond the leasing office job, please give me the contact information for someone within Pegasus that I can call and talk to.

Love fire alarms!? Well then this is the place for you! And I dont mean ordinary fire alarms, I mean the loudest most nightmare inducing noise you can ever imagine right in your very own bedroom. 2am, 3am, 4am, and even in the middle of the day! Don’t worry South Ridge has you covered for any and all times you’d need to sleep. So frequent, in fact, they should soon be adding it to the list of amenities. So if you hate resting and want to have anxiety issues wherever you sleep, look no further!Out of all the factors that go into leasing an apartment...location, price, maintenance etc...every one of is dwarfed in comparison to how bad the fire alarms are. Residents are so used to them few people even leave their apartments anymore. So if there ever is an actual fire, people would not react. This issue goes far beyond the massive anxiety/stress issues, it is a genuine safety concern for hundreds of people.12/15 update: it still goes off...

Good location and the staff is nice but the new management (Pegasus) has diminished the quality of the building. The facilities have not been well kept and the communication has been very poor recently. I have lived here for more than 2 years and the quality is noticeably declining. And the fire alarms have always been way too frequent.

What a great community! We love it here - including our dog. She is welcome everywhere where health regulations and common sense allow, there are plenty of areas to walk her, and the location next to the Swamp Rabbit Trail is unbeatable! The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The amenities are great: gym, Sky View Lounge, indoor lounge, and pool. The grounds are kept beautifully, and having Biscuit Head right downstairs is a wonderful bonus!

Agreeing with several recent reviews here - the new management is inefficient and uncaring. At one point, when we requested that a routine maintenance person not enter the apartment because of our cat, one of the office workers mocked us saying, its not like its dangerous or anything. Excuse me, but it is not your place to comment, and if we do not want someone to enter our apartment while we are not home, then that is our right.Additionally, these apartments are horribly constructed. You will hear every single noise that your neighbors make. Just the other night, we heard one of our neighbors shouting at another because it sounded like they were moving furniture and having some kind of party. That was around 11 pm or midnight. We also frequently hear loud music playing, bass thumping through the walls, etc. Quiet hours are from 10 pm to 8 am, but they are rarely respected, at least on our hall. We do have a courtesy officer supposedly on call, but I have called more than once, and he is not actually available because he is taking a call in another apartment complex 10 to 15 minutes away. How is that helpful when we have a noise disturbance at midnight? Overall, we feel as though we have very little peace and quiet, and we cannot wait to move out of this complex! Our advice: please, look elsewhere. Sure, the location is nice, but these apartments are far overpriced for the kind of living they now offer.

LOUDEST APARTMENTS AWARD!!!- Fire alarms go off constantly... It is the most ear piercing devil sound you can even begin to imagine. Fortunately, these usually occur right when you are trying to sleep at 3am. Seriously, they have gone off over 25 times in the 6 months of my residency.- Thinest floors and walls EVER. You WILL hear EVERY single step, movement, and drawer being opened above or around you. No joke. Floors are concrete with almost no carpet, so hallway and neighbor stomps reverberate viciously throughout.- Electronic key system is unreliable. Not if, but when your key doesnt function to let you in the building, you will get the great opportunity to meet your neighbors by bumming a key (hopefully theirs is working that day!)- Hallways are rarely cleaned. They make you pay $15 extra per month for everyone to place their garbage in the hallways, where all the delicious smells accumulate for you to enjoy every time you leave or enter.- Paint in all cabinets and drawers. For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to periodically refurbish these with beige paint. This easily peels off and sticks to any and everything you put into them. Silverware, cans, cups, its not picky!- Prices are not worth it in any regard. High rent, $1000 +, make you pay extra $50 per month to park.- The only slightly redeeming features are the location and pool (though if you live by the pool during the summer, be prepared for a plethora of loud music and echoed shouts.)

We have been living in the South Ridge Apartments for almost a year. We were happy living here until a few months into our lease when the management company changed. Faith Ann, the property manager, was very rude and had zero customer service skills. Dealing with her and the way she ran the property caused my husband and I to consider relocating. Luckily, she is no longer working here and things have drastically improved around the complex. Trista, the assistant manager, has been handling the property since Faith Ann was let go and doing a wonderful job. She is great! It is clear that Trista is well experienced in property management and knows good customer service because thats exactly what she provides. Things are moving in the right direction since removing Faith Ann from the picture and I believe that will continue!

I have lived at Southridge for about 7 months and it has been a nightmare. The fire alarms will randomly go off during the day and night while you’re trying to sleep. The stairways and hallways are filthy. Not to mention the entire gate system quit working and locked us out. Now for the past week it has been just left open for anyone to come strolling through. Inexcusable when it keeps happening.

I absolutely love my apartment. I was offered a job here in Greenville and needed to find an apartment ASAP. The moment I saw Southridge my parents and I knew it was the place for me. To be sure we went around to other surrounding apartments and they just didn’t do or was way too expensive. After driving around to the apartments that were at least 10 mins or less from work, we came back to Southridge where Kendra, greeted us so warmly. On my tour my dad would stop other residents to get an honest opinion and they loved it as well. It is perfectly located close to downtown, safe, and I’m moments away from work. Once I moved in if there was anything I needed all I had to do was put in a maintenance request online. I’m impressed with how soon maintenance responds to any request. I appreciate this the most thus far. I also love the conference room which I used to study for the bar exam. Above all, I couldn’t see myself staying anywhere else in Greenville, SC. So long as I’m here, I’m at Southridge.P.S. Our sky lounge and salt water pool are both amazing!

The property is very close to downtown and Falls Park. I also liked that there was a free trolley service nearby to take you downtown on the weekends as well as free bike services. The location is the best thing about this apartment complex. The property itself was not very clean. It smelled bad and the floors/elevators were dirty with garbage and stains. It didn’t make me feel at home. I think there needs to be more maintenance done. In addition, the rooms were quite small with very little storage space. Some of the rooms had weird layouts where you needed to go through the bedroom to access the bathroom. I think the rooms were very nice and modern, but not enough space for the asking price.

The maintenance staff at South Ridge is literally amazing. I would rent here just for the maintenance service. They came out on a Friday night to help me fix my washer that I thought was leaking. It took him less than 30 seconds to tell me the problem and like 5 minutes to fix. 10/10 would recommend!

You might as well be signing a lease with the people in the units above you, below you, and beside you because youll hear just as much of what they do as your own roommates. New management is absolutely terrible. The place is never clean, trash lays around for weeks and the staff is rude. The only good news I guess is that rates are dropping. However, after noticing my unit being advertised at a rate $500 less than what I was paying, I was told I was locked in at my rate if I decided to sign a new lease. Now since I didnt tell them I was moving out exactly 60 days before my lease is up, theyre charging me over $300 for the six days I forgot to tell them Im moving out. Maybe if I got to pay market value for my apartment the 60 day notice to vacate wouldnt need to happen! Place sucks. Its not even downtown. Only good thing about it is Toss Pizza that place is awesome.

Management with the BEACH company made this place heaven! One month into our lease the new company KETTLER took over and they are awful. Rude and never available! You call and call and never get anyone unless you leave a voicemail. The only nice person there is Marissa. She is super lovely. I expected much more for what I pay to live here. They dont do anything for current residents anymore. I went into the office one day with my husband and asked about a give away promotion and the woman said its for new residents, so me and my husband turned around and as we walked out she said was that it? WELL OBVIOUSLY yes it is because we live here. They dont even care to know their residents. Live here if you want to be woken up by false fire alarms at 2 a.m. 3 times a week. The fire alarm goes off so often that the fire department has stopped showing up. So in the event that there is an actual fire, who knows what will happen b/c no one takes them seriously any more. This morning the fire alarm went off at 2 a.m., 7 a.m. and 8 a.m. Fun stuff. Also, if you dont live on a top floor, expect to hear EVERY MOVE your upstairs neighbor makes, even when they go to the bathroom.Look elsewhere.

Nice place. Not pet friendly at all. Pets are not allowed on the majority of the property. Dog park is the size of a parking spot. They have three waste stations on the whole property. Stations are always full. Not sure why they charge a pet fee at all and require that dogs be DNA tested. I guess a lot of people dont pick up after their dogs because the stations are often times out of bags. They charge downtown rates despite the property not being downtown no matter how they try to sell it. Glad I went elsewhere.

We also enjoy meeting our neighbors at the monthly events such as the Super Bowl Party, Pancake Breakfast, and the Wine Down Wednesday events! Nice at first glance...The complex is nice at the first glance, but take a deeper look.Within the first 90 days, I noticed that the common areas are not kept clean, the hallways, elevators, and stairwells are rarely cleaned. Residents do not clean up after their pets, and pile trash up at the compactor instead of placing it inside. One morning I walked out to my car to find a beer bottle smashed on the front of it and a beer poured across a few others, I reported this to the leasing office and while apologetic they couldn’t do anything… Then the fire alarms started…In my year of renting here there have been over 50 alarms, out of this at least 10 were in the wee hours of the morning (12am-6am). The last 3 alarms that I have been home for the fire department hasn’t even shown up. The average response time is 12min from alarm start to truck arrival…As time has gone on, I have found that in general the residents that are moving here are of another class, they are filthy! Trash left in elevators, vomit in the elevator, Trash in the parking deck, trash thrown from the top of the parking deck on top of the compactor. Dog feces in almost all the grass, on the sidewalks and in the hallways… People here have no pride. The leasing staff here are great, but they unfortunately can’t control everything. If you don’t mind living in a filthy place convenient to everything this is the place for you.

DO YOU LIKE MOLD IN YOUR APARTMENT? The worst renting experience I have ever had. Not long after living there, I had MOLD growing on all of the cabinets and appliances and even some of my belongings. I was not reimbursed whatsoever for the damage to my property. All they did was transfer me two floors down and had to move everything myself. You will get nickeled and dimed every chance they can. My first month I was fined a late fee because the online portal would not upload the amount I owed for the month and I had to pay online because I was still banking out of state, and when I went to talk to the staff I was told: “rent is due on the first” and was still fined. You have to pay for trash pick up, and I was fined for having a trash bag sitting outside of the actual trash receptacle because I had two bags of trash. My time here was so unpleasant, I actually paid the buyout fee so I could break my lease. Yes, paying 4x rent was better than continuing to live there. Then I was fined after I left for turning off my Duke energy account, when I wasn’t even living there. The staff is rude and acts like any issues you have are a burden to them. Fire alarms that feel like they could honestly damage your hearing go off in the middle of the night all the time, to the point that I stopped going outside when the alarm went off. Pretty safe huh? The door from the parking garage consistently, on a weekly basis, won’t open with your key fob (dozens of people I talked to had the same problem), so you can’t even get into your own floor/apartment sometimes.

South Ridge Apartments is the best apartment community I have ever lived in. I lived at South Ridge from 9/15-11/15 and only moved because of job relocation. The entire leasing office staff is 100 percent accommodating, friendly, and professional. Ashton was my leasing agent and made sure that everything was taken care of moving in and moving out, she is truly a pleasure to work with. Ashton was able to meet all of our expectations for price and availability. Communication was never an issue, which is key to a successful move and a lasting good impression. Don’t worry, if Melissa is your leasing agent you will be just as pleased, she is extremely welcoming and always envelops you with smiles and positive energy. The complex is about a 15-20 minute walk to anywhere downtown. You are a 5 minute walk to Cleveland park and 10 a ten minute walk to the beautiful waterfall on the Reedy River that makes Greenville standout as a downtown. This is a brand new apartment community with luxury amenities and pristine units. The price I feel truly reflects the worth of the community. With the completion of the building, the commercial residents like Biscuit Head, will be a highlight to the appeal of living here. What you won’t notice when you arrive for your tour… There are a lot of dogs that live here, most of them are puppies, this can be a pro or con based on your preferences. With that being said, if you are a dog owner the apartments will do what they can to make sure everyone has a poop free area to walk their dogs so expect to register your pet’s DNA. A lot of the residents are friendly, however some of them do seem to be very needy driving the apartment community to constantly remind neighbors to be respectful. You will most likely hear your neighbor’s footsteps above you.The only complaint I have is that I didn’t receive a floor plan with the stained concrete flooring, but was able to work with the pale gray plank/vinyl flooring since I did get a balcony instead of a patio. The maintenance staff is relatively friendly, but never resolved my request for the light in my storage area to be fixed. This is odd since it was requested twice and doesn’t follow the normal quick manner the apartment resolves things. But, for an emergency they are quick with one maintenance member living at the community, which I believe to be crucial for emergencies.Overall, I would jump at the chance to move back, great job South Ridge!
