Been coming here for years. Love the caves, highly recommend a cool tub of water for your feet and whoever is adding the eucalyptus, keep it coming! The massage is easily the best in the area. These folks are not afraid to get in deep: palms, pinpoint, forearms, and elbows are used to get all the triggers. Keep in mind, please, that they dont have fully enclosed rooms so just just be quiet and enjoy the peace. They also have Aveda products too, and their facials are no-nonsense and thorough. Frankly, I love the parking situation because it means that the folks who know what they want and where to get it are in the right place!

First time and certainly not the last time!! This place was so relaxing...it felt unreal. You walk downstairs into the cave (I don’t have pictures of the inside of the cave) and there were 3 or 4 rooms that you can go into, it was streaming hot but luckily they had buckets that you can easily fill with cold water to cool down which helped. We spent a total of about 1.5 hours and then paid for a private hot bath. They also have showers and lockers along with a waiting area where you can just nap or quietly lounge around. It wasn’t too packed but sometimes the rooms filled up so I’d just go into another room. It was very relaxing and inexpensive

The people at the front desk were very rude. The rooms are not very private just have curtins between them. The noise level was out of control and not relaxing, I wanted a quite and calm massage. The person doing my massage Chris she seemed off or in a bad mood. She was not very gentle and was kinda rough with her techniques. I was gonna say something but thought it wasnt my place. She seemed kinda rude as well. I was not very impressed as I have been to other spas and know this type of work edict is not expected. I am not sure I will return if this is how all of your employees are. I left not relaxed or feeling better at all. Definitely need to work on the being quite thing for people getting massages. I could hear complete conversations from others.

Yampah spa was an experience! My partner Hannah and I basked in the vapor caves for an hour and a half. Within the caves there are multiple rooms of varying temperatures reaching over 100 degrees. Make sure to fill a bucket of water and douse yourself for a refreshing shock to the system. We followed up with a 30 minute soak in the mineral waters for 30 minutes enjoying iced water and orange essential oil towelettes. You can do boujie for yourself and its not boujie until you tell others about it. Thank you Kaitlin! Your positive attitude made the difference for our experience! Youre appreciated!

Ive been coming here for 11 years on my anniversary whilst my hubby plays golf. Today i left disappointed 🤪 . I get the monthly special , caves, mineral water bath and body wrap with a 25 minute massage. Today i waited for my massage after my other treatments, and they didnt have me down for one cause they dont offer it. I was never informed of this before arriving. It says that clearly on my GC that 25 minute massage is included and when i pointed that to front desk girls whilst leaving the remaining 45 bucks for tip.She responds with Yes it sure does 🙄But we no longer offer that and I wasnt able to get another service in its place. What the? I understand covid you changed the special but it clearly says monthly special with 25 minute upper massgae. My hubby is so sad , he paid 😢for me to come back and say YAY!!!! BUT instead i said Dont bother next year! I tell everyone about this place and Im bummed.Angelica is a doll 💕 and i enjoyed chatting with her.!!!

They canceled my massage in the middle of my services there. I had a gift certificate from 2018 I wasn’t able to use until now since they were booked when I tried prior and then COVID hit and then I was pregnant. I called to book and they told me they would honor the gift certificate since there is a federal law that requires gift cards to be valid for 5 years. They scheduled me for a wrap and massage. During my body wrap they came in to tell me that they actually spoke with the owner who told them they wouldn’t honor the gift card and canceled my massage. So much for a relaxing time. This is not the way to treat client and very poor customer service. They had no trouble taking the $200 for the gift certificate and then not render services. I was always told gift certificates by federal law are good for 5 years.

The vapor caves are definitely a unique and enjoyable experience. Had a massage after spending time in the cave that was great. Their spa menu is extensive and I look forward to returning. Only negative is that i was really cold after being in the caves due to intense AC blowing. This made it a little difficult to relax after being in the cave. Next time I will bring a hoodie for warmth.

I came here with my fiance after reading that they had natural vapor caves and thought it would be a unique experience for the two of us. It was only $17 for 2 hours in the caves per person and I thought that was a great deal! You have access to a changing room to get into a bathing suit and then go down into the caves, and then a cooling area in case you get too warm. It was a very cool experience with stone steps and floor and definitely the feel of a sauna. I would recommend a stop in and this place seems to have a lot of other services as well for a spa, and sit back and relax!

I wanted to love this place..but I tried asking the lady performing my service; if it was the right treatment for my skin since I have psoriasis..all she did was giggle; because she could not understand me because of language barrier..so I ended up just sitting in a mud wrap alone for an hour..I then expected a second treatment of a sugar scrub since that’s what it said I paid for..turns out you can only pick either or service since they said “everyone thinks they get both services but that’s a misunderstanding in our brochure..now I’m itchy as hell and my skin is worse then it started, since no moisturizer was even applied afterward..I thought the massage was great and vapor cave was cool although not explained to me it was just an extremely hot (115 degree) cave..all in all it was okay but definitely did not leave feeling satisfied so I can not and will not recommend, especially for price..just wish I had someone knowledgeable performing my service that could educate me on what would be best on my skin condition..I’m itchy and scaly bad now!!!

Great experience, but just be aware that they may offer eucalyptus or some other scent before going to the vapor caves. The girl told us not use the scented towel around face but what we didn’t realize until it was too late was that she placed it on top of our other towels. The other towels absorbed the oils and burned our eyes and skin!!! We saw her place the scented towel facing up to prevent mixing it with the other ones but it didn’t work.. ☹️

I generally just use the caves but have tried their massage services a few times.Customer service is good, people are nice :)I have yet to get an intuitive massage here. I was assured each time that the masseuse was experienced. They dont seem into their technique though. Kinda just got the motion-of-the-ocean. Fine for relaxing, sub-par for sport recovery. The caves are amazing. Ask for a eucalyptus towel ($1) and enjoy multiple cave room options, each with a different seating arrangement and level of heat. Foot tubs and ice cold water available for steaming. Complimentary towels and water available too 👌

Wasn’t able to enjoy the mineral bath due the cold towels that had some sort of orange essential oil, which made me extremely nauseous instead of helping cool down. I wasn’t even fully in the bath when I started getting sick from the smell. I do not like essential oils and wish I was asked before hand if it was okay. Ended up leaving in tears rather relaxed.

The vapor caves are a favorite stop for us. Book a massage and the caves are free. Check out their seasonal special packages. We went near Christmas and had no problem getting 5 massages and the same time. They also offer full spa services and mineral baths. Be sure to bring quarters for the lockers and be warned the rooms are tiny. If you go early parking is not a problem. Be warned the street dead ends just after the building. Bring a water bottle to take down in the caves with you. You will be detoxing so you will want more water than normal. Take breaks in the solarium fill up your water bottler and head back down and enjoy.

My boyfriend and I went to this place over the summer during a week long road trip. I had been wanting to check out their vapor caves for quite awhile, and they did not disappoint! Because it’s so incredibly hot and humid down there, there’s no way you can take your phone down there, but I wish I could’ve captured what it’s like! However I also bought us the couple’s mineral bath and was super disappointed. We only had it for thirty minutes, and we spent twenty of those minutes constantly asking the attendant for ice to throw in the bath since the water was insanely hot, like I couldn’t even put my hand all the way in it. We were asking for ice so much that eventually we just started helping ourselves to the ice and filling up any buckets we could find with it. When we were finally able to get the temperature down to a level that wasn’t going to burn us alive, the thirty minutes was basically up. We explained what happened and the staff gave us a free day pass, but that hardly covered what I spent for the private mineral bath unfortunately. But I will be coming back for those amazing vapor caves! Just don’t waste your time/money on any of the other amenities.

Their website said no reservation needed for all day cave pass, but we were refused, saying a reservation is needed. They didnt ask if wed like to set up an appointment for any of their services, or wish us a nice day or anything. Very awkward. I tried to rationalize it, maybe they thought we were just out of towners who only wanted to see the caves, when in reality were locals who have been to the other hot springs countless times and wanted to give them our business beyond the basics, but they pretty much shot that in the rear end. My perception of this business isnt far off from other reviews, including discrepancies on their website and the lack of quality customer service. Dont bother with this, just go to Iron Mtn or the big pool nearby.

So we bathed with our swimsuits on together. After the bath, we had body wrap services. They had us scheduled together for that, but they finally split up our services so we could fully enjoy the services. I had the seaweed wrap scheduled, but they had that scheduled wrong and I received the chocolate wrap. The wraps are advertised as 60mins, but really they are 30mins, they include the set up time of 15mins and showering off (15mins) as part of your treatment. Would recommend calling ahead to reserve a spot for the mineral bath, massage and/or vapor caves. The price we were given was not bad for two people, you can use the vapor caves two hours before your appointment for the 30min mineral bath or massage. We did the vapor caves from 11am to 1pm and then had our mineral bath at 1pm for 30mins. The moment you go down the stairs to the caves you start to sweat! There are about 5 maybe 6 caves that you can go and sit in, very dim, calming, humid and hot, but very relaxing. First, I want to make it clear that I am NOT a customer. My family and I are going to be in Glenwood Springs for a week in April. On Saturday Feb. 27th I called this spa and spoke with Patsy. I wanted to confirm that if we purchased a massage or spa service that we would have all day access to the steam caves (as website says).Patsy told me due to the covid we only get a time limit of 2 hours. Patsy said they did not change their website because they’re hoping covid will soon go away. I said okay thank you. After thinking about it, I then called back and I believe it may have been Kateland that answered. I told her I had already talked to Patsy earlier and that she informed me that our cave time was a strict limit of 2 hours. My question to Kateland was since you are limiting our time to 2 hours contradictory to what your website stipulates, are you allowing for any price adjustments for services? Even if we decided to purchase just an all day cave pass as your website states. She told me no. She said all prices will remain the same regardless of the situation. I then told her, so it’s very beneficial to your spa financially but not for your customers. She said would you like to talk to management. I said no I will go somewhere else that makes price adjustments according to their changed covid standards. Kaitlyn replied ”awesome”. Even though we planned on going here, I don’t think it is fair that they will not give a 10% to 25% discount on services or even cave only services. Not only that, their website is clearly dishonest. I will never patronize this establishment! Kateland sounded like an immature child!!

This place was incredibly awkward. Staff were very blah and uncourteous. They sent us to this spa room with one tiny hand towel and lacked enough hooks in the room to hang our garments and towels, which consequently got soaked from setting them on the tile surrounding the tub which gets wet from the humidity in the all-tile room. Most importantly, there is no way this place is up to fire code. The room had a tiny glass-block prison window not large enough to fit through in case the hallway/ exit is blocked in a fire or emergency. The rooms have sliding wooden doors - they slide across and do not open outwardly to a large enough hallway to accommodate a proper door that would operate accordingly and up to code. These doors are what one might see on old-fashioned sliding door closets, and again, aren’t fit for a quick exit in an emergency (where you’re in a tiny hot room with a boiler piping in thermostatically regulated boiling water) which made me very uneasy in a place I paid to go relax.Staff were also hesitant to give us more towels upon request, so we had to slog through the hallways chasing down towels, receiving disapproving and awkward looks from unhelpful staff, across the entry and down the opposite end of the building down a long corridor to a filthy changing room that had trash on the floor, stains on the ceiling and walls, and these gross stock spa photos on the wall discolored from the humidity (which gave a feeling they likely have mold issues) and a lack of clean seating to change clothes, instead inconveniently (and hazardously) having to balance oneself on a wet tile floor to change clothes and put on your shoes to get the hell out.I later had a nightmare I was trapped in the spa room because of the sliding doors in the tiny cell-like spa room, which is why I’m cautioning other potential customers and asking the local and county fire inspector to review this place.

Our 45 minute salt scrub was 15 minutes. Not only was the therapist 10 minutes late, we were told the shower after the scrub was part of the experience. Not to mention they wanted a gratuity before the treatment.Changing rooms were the size of a small closet, bathrooms down the hall and quarters were needed for the lockers.Just a waste.

The vapor caves are amazing. Im not usually a sauna person but I do enjoy the caves. Got some great massages there too. They go well with the vapor caves. A good weekend getaway for sure.

For a naturally-occurring hot sauna, this is one of the coolest natural saunas Ive seen in my travels in the States. Spa services were very nice as well.

Im new to the area, only been here a couple of months, but I love this spa. I came for a massage, facial and body wrap the first time I went and the massage therapist was the best Ive ever had, he really worked out the kinks and knots in my back. Go see him for sure you wont be dissatisfied. His name was Fish. My facialist A.J. was so sweet and kind and did a wonderful job on my facial as well as reccomend a whole skin care regimen with the appropriate products for my face. My face looks amazing since starting use of the products she reccomended. Definitely go see her. I didnt get the name of the woman who did my wrap but ssd he was great as well.I went back for a 2nd facial just today with Daniella and she was wonderful. Very relaxing experience and very good at her job, i would also recommend seeing her. I will be back for many more facials and more for sure.

My husband and I went to Glenwood Spring for a romantic weekend, and I made reservations for a massage at the Yampah Vapor Cave Spa, which included access to the caves. This was one of the most unique experiences we have ever had, and was fun and memorable. All the staff were extremely helpful and attentive, and helped us understand the ins and outs of using the caves and the facilities. The caves are very hot and steamy, and if you can imagine being under the crust of the earth near the source of hot springs water you might soak in, then you can imagine the caves. Everyone is courteous of the other patrons, and we all worked to maintain a calm and quiet environment in the caves. This was also great preparation to relax for a massage, which we also greatly enjoyed.I booked us a couples massage, and we each got to tailor our massages based on our preference of pressure and how deep we wanted the tissue massage to be. The masseurs were very nice and did a fabulous job, leaving us the sort of state of relaxation you should be in after a massage. This was a fantastic experience, and we will certainly be back!!

Ive been here multiple times and have always had a nice experience. However, this past time was extremely disappointing and borderline offensive. Not because of the cave itself, because of issues that were not only ignored, but shushed away without so much as an apology. My friend and I were subjected to a man exposing himself to us and others as well as committing....how to put this nicely...... enjoying himself too much IN public, IN the caves (a CRIME). This included him coming in multiple times to the womens locker room and exposing himself and not leaving. (I have NO issue with nudity and have frequented clothing optional places.) But when you dont follow the rules of the establishment (VApor caves is NOT clothing optional), thats not ok and clearly made others very uncomfortable to say the least. We I a second day hoping it would be less eventful and I truly dont know why we bothered giving them our business. I understand that things happen and business owners cant control everything. But when we asked what happened with the man yesterday (the cops were called so I know someone reported him), all we got was an excuse that, he snuck in by hopping the wall and had cancer. First, what does having an illness have to do with exposing yourself to a group of people? Secondly, that wall is easily over 8ft tall and solid concrete. Unless he was Superman, there is no way he hopped that wall and sounds like a cop out excuse. People who come are given ONE towel, at the front and are forced to pay for extra towels if they want one (chintzy move in and of itself). These are issued to you at the front door and Ive never seen one laying around. If hed snuck in, he wouldnt have had access to said towel. I call b.s. that he snuck in and not to sound callous, but his cancer story, doesnt fly as an excuse for committing a sexual offense. Second major offense: nude exposure aside, everyone had to choose a two hour time frame to maintain COVID safety measures. However, when we mentioned that our time was up in a while to fellow patrons, an entire group told us not to bother because theyd been there for four hours and no one was checking. No wonder it kept getting busier! So not only were we subjected to a flasher pleasuring himself with not so much as an Im sorry that happened, we were actually charged extra for a hand towel. A HAND TOWEL. How about an our bad, have an extra towel for the inconvenience. Or JUST a, so sorry you had that experience. In no way did we expect anything free, discounted, etc. because of the previous day, but the gesture was the least they couldve done. We also felt ripped off because we left early knowing that others werent respecting the COVID restrictions. I believe it is upon the staff and the owner to make sure these rules are being followed. We went to a different hot springs that night (not the massive one), and they had it down to a fine science assuring no one went over their time limit and it was a much larger facility. Its doable. I dont expect additional services or concessions even if something happened that was not the fault of the owner, but I d@arn well expect some sympathy for the unpleasant experience and follow COVID rules!!!!!!!!!

This place is my favorite destination for relaxation. It’s dated as far as the building but it is certainly not lacking because of it. Well run machine here. The under ground natural steam caves are a must for the full experience.Hotel Colorado. Hot springs and Yampah is our trifecta.Ride the train in and you’ll not be sorry.Edit: we are heading back to the springs this fall. But I’m afraid we won’t be partaking much, if any services other than the caves. Massages have gone up. A bit too much to enjoy it for us. Sadly we’ll have to pass.

My husband and I LOVE this place but Ill tell you right now that youll either love it or hate it. We think the spa is great, although its pricey, probably just because we arent in the habit of spending at a spa so it seems like it to us. We usually do the monthly special for our anniversary when we go to Glenwood. It generally includes a soak in a couples (if youre a couple, tell them its your anniversary if it is) tub with hot mineral water heated by the hot springs and a bowl of ice with a cloth and orange essential oil in it. Then you get a thermal wrap where they slather your body with something that detoxifies you (its different for each special) and they wrap you up in plastic and thermal blankets and you lay back and relax while your body detoxes. Then you have a shower to wash off the mixture, couples are led into a double headed shower room. Then you have a massage. The vapor caves, atrium with lounge chairs, and spa water are included with any spa treatments or you can pay for them separately and it was only $15 last time we were there. The caves were discovered by the Native Americans many years before the area was settled and theres information on the website about prices and history of the caves. I will tell you that the caves are dimly lit, there are several smaller rooms, it smells like sulfur, and are so hot they only recommend that you do 10 minutes at a time with rests in the atrium or small enclosed patio outside in between. You can also come back as many times during the day as you would like. I know many people consider the caves gross but its a steaming hot sulfurous cave with a flow of water and sweaty people hanging out in their swim suits so... yeah. If that doesnt sound like a good time to you Id skip it or just do the spa.
