An honest mechanic at a fair price? I had never known Ruben Licon until I had a series of problems with my old vehicle getting it up to pass inspection. I was referred to him by a Veteran who told me that Ruben was also a Veteran and likes being able to help Vets in need. Was he ever right!He not only go the job done right the first time, he was way below what dealers and other automotive repair facilities quoted for the work. Additionally, an unrelated problem occurred which he jumped in and fixed before he would release the vehicle to us. An honest and honorable mechanic! He even got the vehicle inspected and passed for us. It was MORE than worth the drive from Tempe out to Glendale. First I want to say that it must be exceptional work in order for me to leave a review. I will not waste my time leaving a negative review, as I work in customer service and understand that sometimes bad service may literally be someone just having a bad day. That being said...I took my vehicle to a well known national franchise, after going to AutoZone and they diagnosed my vehicle. When I explained my situation to the gentleman at this franchise, I was given a quote for the labor alone...and this was for minimal work. I knew that I could not afford the work being a single mother and being on a minimal budget. I walked out feeling defeated and wondering what to do.I was then referred to Mr Ruben Licon, who was a Godsend!!! I went in for a dx on Tues, and he scheduled me for the following Sat. (He could have done the work sooner, but my schedule did not allow me to release my vehicle until then). When I arrived, I was taken through a complete walk through on the work that was expected, and advised that I would receive a call when it was competed. Fast forward 8 hrs...I was walked through the work that was completed, including Mr Licon showing me that I had actually been paying for a service (oil change) at another well known franchise and the work was not being done correctly. He and his mechanics checked small issues such as my tire pressure and went above and beyond by doing small things, such as washing my car (which has not been done in quite some time), and changing my oil, that I know needed to be done but had not addressed until the day of service. I even jokingly said why they didnt vacuum my vehicle, and was advised in all seriousness that it would have been done had they had a vacuum available.They have won my loyalty in one visit and will definitely be a repeat customer. I know where I will go for routine things such as oil changes to big things that I know absolutely nothing at all about, except that my check engine has come on. I will be referring my family and friends. Anyone who is looking for phenomenal customer service and knowledgeable mechanics, do not hesitate to contact this shop. You will not be disappointed!!!
