Pros- It is relatively quiet and the grounds are pretty well kept except for the people that dont pick up after their pets. Before the staff in the office used to have absolutely no idea what was going on, but after the most recent ownership change, I have noticed a difference in response time and the way I am responded to. The staff in the front office are very friendly and although I have not had to deal with them very much, I dont mind when I do. Its very close to campus and lots of other things like a couple bars and restaurants.Cons- This is not student living by any means, many of my neighbors have small children (not a complaint, just dont call it student living if its not). All things considered, it is a bit overpriced, especially considering the last time my apartment was renovated was probably the 80s. With it being an older building, comes certain problems like the floor heating malfunctioning, theres only one wall unit AC in the living room so it gets hot during summer, the pipes are definitely older so theres plumbing issues every once and awhile and the walls are very thin but thats something thats typical of most cheaply built apartments. I would say youre definitely not getting a super great deal, but youre in a college town and theres always going to be something you have to settle for.

I have lived here for 3 years now but will not stay after my lease is over! The current manager, Lupe, is very hard to deal with, passive aggressive, uncompassionate, and threatening through emails. Her people skills are non-existent; she has NO sympathy. The Social West will raise your rent astronomically if you want to renew. I was told one rent increase ($25), and then it changed to ($180) after I had decided to stay. I understand rent increases, but 180 in one lease renewal is outrageous. The old bait and switch. I hope the current manager is not there when my lease is up, I fear they will try and keep my deposit. KEEP ALL OF YOUR PAPERWORK! Be aware! None of the staff know what theyre doing. It took them a month to approve my new roommate, as they were harassing him about proof of employment. They had us sign two different leases, and not one of the staff members, including Lupe, could explain to me why. If you want anything done, you have to keep on them to do their job. Also be aware of the Social Wests utility package where you will be paying for amenities you may not use. They steal your money and make you pay regardless if you use the utilities or not. They will not tell you this when you are applying for an apartment. One more thing, they often lose maintenance staff and will not help when needed, or they will need a reminder of the issue. If you care about living with low stress, do not rent from this place.

We moved here because this apartment is close to campus and relatively affordable. When we were applying the apartment switched owners and they lost all our paperwork which was kind of a pain. But the worst part is that we had multiple bats. Yes BATS. We had 8 of them in our apartment over a 2 year period and nothing was done to fix this. Every time we called the office for help either they didn’t answer and never got back to us, the employee we did talk to had no idea that this was an issue and didn’t help, or we were rerouted to a call center who also did nothing to help. We also sent multiple emails about the bat issue with no response back from the company. We had to call animal control and be in constant contact with the health department. However the health department (at no fault of there own) could do nothing to help us because the apartment would make the tiniest fixes like putting up a bat box which did nothing to help the issue. Also based off of our neighbors many units were being accessed by bats. We were in constant fear in the summer of bats getting in and transmitting rabies to us or our pet. Also it took forever for maintenance to get stuff done when we put in a work order- they were always nice though.

This is hands down one of the worst apartment complexes in Fort Collins. First of all, this is NOT, by ANY MEANS, student housing. Out of all the apartments in my immediate vicinity I think one of them have college aged people. The rest are families or older individuals. Pretty sure our upstairs neighbors are crackheads too, given the police showing up and showing us mugshots as well as the occasional 3am fighting in the parking lot session. The management here is either oblivious or lazy because there are so many problems in and around my unit that they refuse to fix. They turned off the water for two days one time without telling any of the residents. You had to call to find out why. There was a leak from an upstairs apartment that they took their sweet time fixing, where they told us just to keep a bucket under it until they could find time to fix it. And when they fixed it about a day later the same thing happened and it was about another week until it was actually fixed. This is not a pet friendly complex. Sure, people here have pets, but nobody picks up after their dogs and you are constantly wiping poop off your shoes or your dogs paws if you walk them around the complex. As you can imagine this is extremely frustrating. This isnt the managements fault, but it should tell you about the type of people who live here. And the dog park they have is about an 800 square foot patch of pee dirt that absolutely stinks.Do not make the same mistake I did and pay absolutely ridiculous rent that they continue to raise as the complex gets worse and worse.

Im not happy with this place. Bait-and-switch marketing is used here. My apartment was advertised and stated as being renovated in the lease, however nothing about it was renovated. It is an overpriced and messy failure. The kitchen cabinets are at least 1970s or older, the countertops had multiple yellow stains, the cabinets and drawers in both the kitchen and bathroom were broken, chipped, or stained in multiple places. The kitchen faucet was not attached correctly, making it difficult to turn. I had a new dishwasher and oven when I moved in, which was fantastic. I just wish the rest of the apartment was renovated. We were promised multiple times by the front desk staff that the unit would be cleaned when I moved in. It was not clean at all. There were spider webs in every corner of the apartment, Dorito crumb on the ground, oil/coffee stains on the walls, yellow slime in the toilet, mildew spots all over ths shower, spiders in the shower, gum on the ground, bugs in the light fixtures, multiple large brown stains on the carpets, and dust on and near the heating vent grates. When we asked the front desk staff about this, we were told that cleaning crews skipped my unit because a lot of people moved out over the summer. I wouldve felt better if they had just told us the unit wasnt going to be clean, but appropriate, meaningful communication is not The Social Wests priority.Recently, both interior and exterior doors in my unit have been swelling. The front door, which only has one lock by the way (wow! so safe!) has swollen to the point that I have to slam it to get it to close. The bathroom door looked like it had been grated when I first moved in, so I had the maintenace crew replace it. Well, now that door is swelling as well. I have guests over frequently, and it is embarrassing to have a brand new bathroom door not close properly.About 6 parking spaces in multiple parking lots have recently been taken up by giant green dumpsters. I guess this is where the materials removed for renovations go. I wish my unit was renovated...There are a few good parts of living here. The grounds and dog park are well-maintained, wonderful to walk around, quiet, and peaceful. Ive never really had problems with noise here. Its location close to CSU and many other popular apartment complexes has been great for me. The front desk staff, maintannce crew, and the previous property manager, Kelsey, are responsive and diligent overall. The gym is also really nice too, and many of the tenants here are nice.

I asked for what and she said to have the plows come by. Over 12 hours later call to ask what is happening and get told the same thing. We pay and extra 200 a month too help maintain the apartment complex and here were are still stuck the next day. Still being told we will put in a work order. Someone needs fired and new management. Do not live here!!!! First, It’s horribly overpriced for one of the worst places I have ever lived in. The catchphrase of the front office is “sorry there nothing we can do about that/ it’s out of our control” They don’t communicate with residents and it’s almost guaranteed that when you call the front office all that happens is you’re transferred to an offsite call center where they don’t have any info and the only thing they can do is tell the office to call you back which they do about 25% of the time. I made a complaint about neighbors throwing lit cigarettes off their balcony and they told me that they couldn’t do anything unless I filed a report about “the date and time of the incident as well as a detailed description” ??? I asked them to clean up the cigarettes because this is apparently a “pet friendly” apartment where people’s dogs could eat them and they didn’t send someone for two days.our apartment constantly has problems which the maintenance takes an unnecessarily long time to fix. There’s a $100 amenity fee for subpar amenities. We had a power outage this week that lasted for 15 hours and didn’t have hot water for two days and they barely communicated with us and also told us to contact our renters insurance because they are supposed to cover a hotel if this happens which is false. The worst part about writing this review is I have given them feedback before, they’ll surely reply saying “we’re so sorry contact us and we’ll see what we can do to make your experience better” but this is about the 5th time I’ll be contacting/filling out a resident survey and I guarantee nothing will change. Social West, don’t take the time to reply. Do not waste your money and time on this apartment complex you’ll only end up regretting it.

Horrible communication and service from the office. Most of the time when you call you get sent to the off site center, full of people who are nice but dont have answers for you. Nobody in the actual office will ever call back, they just push you off to other people who also dont know whats going on. Incredibly frustrating, they messed up my security deposit and I have called multiple times a week for the past month and NOBODY has ever called me back. Dont bother moving in here if you ever want anybody in the office to answer your questions.

I had an excellent time living at the Social West. The apartment we rented was one of the lower “tiers” yet it was still clean, had new appliances, renovations, new carpet, etc. It was really nice to have both air conditioning and working heat (which can be rare to find in Colorado!), and while we lived there they were constantly adding new amenities, such as a fun dog park or renovating the pool and laundry rooms. The office staff went above and beyond, especially Kristy, to ensure all our needs were met and all maintenance requests/needs were met in an efficient and timely matter. If there was ever a dilemma or question we had, the office was always so incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional when answering, and worked hard to ensure that we were having the best apartment experience possible. The maintenance team was very friendly and always so helpful as well. I am so thankful we chose this apartment complex!

The new manager Lupe is rude and uninformed. We have had problems with the laundry cards, parking spots, and the pool still isn’t open IN JUNE. We used to be able to use the gym at our sister apartment but now that has been taken from us and no one was informed until the day of. There is no communication between the office and the residents. I’m upset that we have already signed another lease (prior to the switch) because it’s not fun to live here anymore. Their only saving grace is Kristy in the office and Todd from maintenance. Those two have been here for quite some time and are very knowledgeable of the grounds and of the residents. Kristy is always super helpful and Todd is very prompt when called.

Honestly have had a very negative experience living here. I have lived in various apartments and this has been incredibly disappointing. In the 10 months I’ve been here I have had numerous issues within my apartment with little assistance to alleviate them. In addition, there is a major lack of communication between the leasing staff and the residents. One of the main reasons I moved into this complex was because of the pool which is not open even though it’s the middle of June. While here have been some positives to this place (mainly the location), I have been very upset with the quality of living overall. For the money I have paid, I haven’t gotten even half of the service I was promised. I would not recommend living here until things get more put together.

Not too bad, lived here for 2 years and for what we paid, it was a good stay. The management changed this past year to a larger company and the front staff is super friendly and accommodating. Its definitely a college apartment, and each year we had different types of neighbors. Nice being so close to campus and bars (if thats what youre into).Only downside was we had a mold issue that never was resolved. Always had to spray the bathroom, otherwise it would mold. While living there it is okay but as soon as you move out thats when the problems start. We cleaned the apartment better than we have received it and received ridiculous charges on things that should be common maintenance for apartments. My roommate and I are pretty handy so it did not make that big of a deal for us but for others that may be a problem. Ive lived here for two years and it has its pros and cons. For starters, its a college apartment, so expect your neighbors to be loud and annoying on the weekends. The buildings are a little out of date; single pane glass windows, no fresh air return vent, sliding door needs to be replaced. The exterior looks sketchy but hey, COLLEGE APARTMENT. I felt that the place is way to overpriced for what you get, sure, everything except internet is included but I feel that it is still overpriced for the condition of the apartments. A lot of fun bars/restaurants are within walking distance and I can get to the engineering center at CSU within 9-11min walking. The pool area is nice and it has a lot of open space around the grounds. Ive never had an issue with the office and they have been extremely understanding if you work with them. I had to pay rent a day late but let them know ahead of time that this would happen. They waved the late fee for me which was awesome! I would say if you are still in college this place will suit your fancy, otherwise look elsewhere.

If it was possible to give no stars at all that is what I would be doing. I am updating this review in August 2018. Please note the last paragraph of the updated review concerning their blatant lies about security.Update: August 2018We have had several work requests in for minor and major repairs around our apartment since may 29th 2018. Our blinds covering our sliding glass door have fallen apart, the compressor in our fridge is failing and making a horrible noise 24/7, and because they used such cheap materials, our interior doors have warped so much that none of them will close anymore, including the bathroom door. Both my roommate and I have gone to the front office multiple times each week to ask that our issues be addressed and still nothing has been done. I have even contacted the regional office and they refuse to do anything. As others here have stated I have no idea how anybody who works here still has a job. Occasionally we get a new employee who is halfway decent, but within a month they either quit or are promoted to another location. The people who stick around to work here show on a daily basis that they simply do not care.In addition, nothing in the lease or community rules is enforced. I have had people riding their motorcycles through the shared space behind my apartment while drunk. Other people running around in nothing but their underwear and blasting music at 1 AM. The shared spaces are not maintained by the management except an occasional mowing, which takes place around 6:30am when they bother to do it.One last note, the management service blatantly lied about having a contract with a local security provider. I called the contractor and they said that they havent had a contract with them in about 3 years because the management wouldnt allow their officers to be armed, and didnt want to pay for the additional insurance that would require. Furthermore after about 5 months of living here there was a shooting a block down form the apartment, after which I asked that they install a better lock on the front door which I would pay for; they refused. Around 7 months of living here I went to do my laundry and found a homeless man camped out in our laundry room for the night because they did not have a lock on the laundry room door or windows.Original: August 2017Moved into the apartment and everything was wrong. Missing blinds, mold in the fridge/freezer, singed outlets, doors cut the wrong size, and the coax jacks ripped out of the wall. Maintenance takes forever to come and fix anything no matter how simple and we have been without internet or TV for several weeks now. Seeing as we are paying for internet and cable this is really upsetting. On top of everything when we moved in the apartment had not been cleaned. There was hair from the previous tenants coating the shower and mold in the fridge.Requested several jobs done and maintenance took forever to complete them. We asked for several outlets to be repaired and they only repaired half of them. When they finished the jobs they always left nuts and bolts lying around on our floor and we found chemical cleaner left sitting in our kitchen. When these issues were brought up to management, they simply said oh well, Ill put in a work order. No apology for the state of the apartment, I have had to go into the front office and harass them every day to get anything done.Everything about living here has been a struggle. The management is awful and does not care about resident problems. Promises made by management are never kept and they try to charge residents for everything possible even if the problem existed before you moved in.The management at Rams Crossing East is simply awful. I would never live here again, and I would certainly never recommend it to anyone.

If you are planning to take a warm shower at 6am before work or school, be prepared to take a freezing shower, the water heater has gone out numerous times so yes theres has been many days without a shower in the morning, my shower was then clogging and the tub was filling with water I took apart the stopper and that hadnt been cleaned in years, rusty shaving razors, and hair ties were amongst many things found inside it. (Yes very disgusting) this is not a joke, I see people excited to move in as in coming home and I really want to yell out and tell them to pick everything back up and try a different place. There are many more things I could say that are wrong about this place. Im far too excited to leave and move into my new residence.
