I would highly recommend Thrifty for any auto repairs that you may need. I was told I had to make a last minute road trip for a family issue and I didn’t feel like my car was able to make the trip and wanted to get it checked out. I called David Egan and explained the situation I had and even though they were booked solid, Dave told me to go ahead and bring it in and he would do whatever he could to get it checked out for me. Personally, it shows how awesome Thrify’s customer service is due to the fact that to make sure I was able to make my trip safely, the owner (Aaron) went out and checked out my car and got it back to road safe for me because all his other auto technicians were busy all day. I can’t express how great full I am to both Aaron and Dave but also to the entire Thrifty crew for always going above and beyond! Keep up the amazing work guys!

I have been a customer for several years and wont go anywhere else. I can do most maintenance and swap out repairs myself but when I need help I go to Thrifty. They are always honest and professional, fair in price, doesnt try to gouge you into paying for un-necessary repairs as other shops in town have done. They go above and beyond treating their customers well.

Hi, This is the second time they fixed my car issue. Last time I was having problem in my car AC and they had fixed it. This time they fixed popping noises which were coming from wheels. I scheduled an inspection several days in advance. I took my car in at 8am on the day they had me scheduled.I called at 2:15pm to see how it was going and they said my car was in the bay being looked at.Still didnt hear back so i stipped by at 4:40pm, just to fu d out they handt even touched my car, no inspection whatsoever.How the hell do you schedule me and lie to me over the phone, and dont even look at my car?

Do not take your car here! Both things we asked them to fix stopped working the next day and then they couldnt get in for another week to fix what they didnt fix. Took the car to another mechanic and he had no issues fixing our requested repair. Thrifty keep trying to fix other stuff that wasnt requested.

Update 12/18 Custom fit new rims to my 52 Studebaker Commander Coupe. Excellent attention to detail, friendly, and again charged me a fraction of what they could have. The best. One of my favorite Evansville businesses! Always fair and honest. Do the work for less than their estimate if possible. Checked my brakes today and could have told me I needed expensive repairs. Showed me my brakes, cleaned them, and charged me almost nothing. My first choice for anything on my cars or truck!

My car had power issues for over a month and i thought it was going to be a big expense. I went here and met Dave who found the issue with loose connection to battery and fixed in 5 mins. for no cost at all!

My estimate was $300.00 for my starter and when I went to pay my bill it was $426.00. They said it didnt include labor. Who does that??? Just talked to one of the owners today and he said a mistake was done and is refunding my $100.00. I appreciate all their concerns!

Part 2: since you can’t reply to their reviews. I want all the customers to know. Of course my name wouldn’t show up, it was my boyfriend’s car which I stated. Also you really wanna lie like that? I mean when you search the auto shop an “Toni EICH” shows up and it says she’s an owner of the shop in her bio on Facebook so I’m confused? My boyfriend hadn’t been there in a while but he needed something fixed and the service is not the same since Jeff left. I’m sorry but I stand by what I said. It wasn’t a lie and you can search it up yourself before giving this business your money. Read previous reviews they will agree with me.

Like you I was careful to read reviews before trusting anyone with my vehicle. Unfortunately, it did not pay off this time. After spending 1100 for them to fix my brakes, (1800 total for all repairs) I had to return my truck for brake issues. They then proceeded to tell me it would cost another 1000 dollars to get my brakes working properly. After I brought it back they tried to say they warned me this might be a possibility and I assure you they did not. They did tell me they could fix my brakes for 1100 and now it stops worse than when I brought it in. I would not have spent the initial money knowing it might double in cost. This is a huge failure on their part and Ill reccomend everyone I know to stay away.

I seriously have no idea why anyone would go anywhere else than Thrifty. If you go somewhere else I can assure you you are doing your car and your wallet a disservice. By far the best, most friendly and personable mechanics in the area. What other places quoted me for 1200 Thrifty fixed the issue (which ended up being a completely different issue) for under 300. Seriously saved me big time there. They are straight shooters and wont sell or push anything on you, only what is needed. If all mechanics operated like these guys do, we wouldnt ever have a bad experience at a shop again. 10/10 would recommend forever!

I got my car fixed here and had to work all week so I wasnt able to pick it up until the following week. I have an extra set of keys so I thought I would let my car warm up. Im about to get in and there is a homeless man sleeping in the back seat of my car. I couldnt be mad at the homeless man I didnt leave my car in his hands. Then one guy lies and say he couldnt have been in there long we just moved it. I have been riding by all week checking on my car and its been in the same spot but ok. Couldnt give me an explanation or compensation. They will never get my business again.

This place is amazing! They are very friendly and great at what they do. Thrifty is both affordable and very knowledgeable. Work is completed quickly and at a great price, and the price is always the same as their original quote. I also love how they take the time to explain what is wrong with you vehicle in a way that is easy to understand. They are also very honest about what needs fixed right away and what can wait. The service in this shop has gone down hill since Jeff left, they seem to not care about the customer and their needs. Pricing is overwhelmingly high and they didn’t even end up running test on what was wrong with my boyfriend’s car, they “assumed” what was wrong and “fixed” it. Not to mention when you look the business up on Facebook the owners show up and I was very surprised to see how openly they speak about political views and gender rights considering they have very diverse clientele. Do not recommend giving them business if you are a POC or part of the LGBTQ+ community since they openly disagreed with basic rights. Made me very uncomfortable to know I gave them my money. Will never be visiting again.

They didnt try to take advantage because Im a woman. All in all they are great. I finally found a great car repair shop and I move half way across the country. I recommend these guys to everyone.

On 08/23/19Great work, Great staff.I brought my Chrysler Town & Country in because it would not start without a jump. Jason took it right away to diagnose if it was the battery, starter or alternator. I did mention that one of the terminals was loose and was not able to get it tight. He diagnosed the problem & thankfully it was only the terminal. He replaced. Let the battery charge up. Tried several times & started every time. Thanks Jason.

Towed my car there and left the key in the key drop on Saturday. Was promptly contacted Monday to let me know what was going on with my vehicle. I was emailed an estimate per my request (it was like drinking from a firehose and a lot of info to take in, despite the shop owner taking the time to explain everything that was going on with my vehicle)The shop was very honest and definitely explained things that I needed to repair right now vs things that could wait until later. The shop also made the recommendation that I may not find value in making so many repairs to an older car, and that I might go with the option of selling it as not-running/as-is and finding someone to purchase it. I definitely respect these stances, as they were honest and good solutions to me as a customer- but may not have immediately put money in the shops pocket.I ended up selecting the repairs to be done later in the day, and my vehicle was ready the next day. It drove home better than it has the entire time I have had it.The shops owners are very efficient and communicative. The lobby is very clean, and has thoughtful coffees and snacks for those who may be waiting for same-day repairs. I am very happy with this shop and would recommend it to anyone who needs something done!Thanks guys!

I feel trust is the most important factor in any business relationship and Thrifty continues to earn my trust time and time again. When my starter went out, they discovered it had been replaced before. They went to the trouble to determine it had a lifetime warranty and as a result I only paid for labor. This is not just good customer service, its great. Ill never go anywhere else.

Good place to have some auto work done but when the customer asks for the warranty napa Starter to be replaced & denighed but then 2 months later brought backDue to the starter on its last go. I had Checked over by Kenny Kent Toyota contact points going bad in the starter.Eventually this time the starter was replaced.Called about rear wheelbearing and hub passenger side given a price of $300.00 for 98 Toyota Camry. (1) But had it done by a competitor 210.00 tax & all. Aside that they treat ya fair but as I will tell you shop around ask about parts labor warranty etc. Its your money your carBe wise in your decision & if your not happy give your honest review. Maybe Im just difficult but I earn my money as Im of the opinion most of ya do.

Their labor price is the best in town that I have found, they have always done a great job on the work performed (never had to take my vehicles back) and they will always give you an honest opinion and let you know times when you would just be wasting money and that repair is not necessary. I recently had an alternator put on my car. My sister recommended them because she had 2 of her vehicles worked on. She said they were good, honest people. Jason told me when my car would be ready and the price quote. It turned out to be a little cheaper. I will be bringing all of my car repairs here. Im telling all of my friends about them

I called around and got several quotes. They were by far the lowest cost. With such a low cost I was concerned about the service, but it is obvious that these guys have the customers best interest in mind. I highly recommend them!

Great and friendly car service. I was given a quote for some minor repairs and the final total came out less than the quote. I dropped it off on Wednesday and was told it would be ready Friday. I received a call Friday morning before lunch letting me know my car was ready. My sister takes her car here and now that I’ve moved to Evansville, I’ll be taking my car here as well.

First thing I am going to say expensive repair, but this is do to parts not the labor charge. It would of probably have been alot more at another repair shop. Thrifty was fast, friendly and courteous.

I called Thrifty for some estimates on my 2008 Nissan Altima. They called me right back with a total estimate and itemized estimates on prices of parts and labor. The man I spoke with (Im sorry I forgot his name) was very polite. He went the extra mile to do some research on my expensive spark plugs, found another way to do it, and shaved $100 off my total estimate. While I will not be going here for the repairs due to their prices being ~$100 more than some others in town (I have some expensive work that needs to be done and am low on money), I really appreciate their effort and honesty to make my experience the best possible. Definitely look them up to compare to other shops.

Ive been a long haul truck driver the last ten years, so I am more than familiar with the good, bad, and ugly of repair shops and dealerships. These guys were great to deal with, gave me a great price and had my jeep finished on time. When i was picking Up my jeep I overheard a discussion the shop guy was having with a lady about an electrical issue ( which can be a royal pain to solve ). Unable to isolate the problem and rather than b.s. the woman out of a small fortune in labor costs, he simply explained it to her and pointed her in the direction of a shop that specializes in electrical issues. These are the guys you want working on your vehicle and the work they did on mine was top notch. Did I mention the price was great?

These people are con artists! My son took his car in. I made the mistake of telling them my husband thought it MAY be the catalytic converter, but wasnt sure. They ran NO tests, changed the converter, charged my son around $300 for the new converter, and it ran worse than when he brought it in. My son, who is deaf, had to text me to come back and get him because it was running so badly, he was worried he wouldnt be able to make it home. I called the next day and one of the owners admitted they had run NO tests and just changed the converter due to what I had said. The other owner, (his brother) told me to bring the car back in and they would have to run tests on it, but would have to charge me and it may be a considerable cost because they had no idea what was wrong with it. When I asked why they hadnt run tests initially, I was told they just fixed what they thought was probably wrong on it. My husband refused to take it back and be gouged again, and did some research online. It ended up being a fairly simple fix of getting the timing adjusted. This is NOT the same Thrifty Car Care that it was when Jeff Decker owned it. I will tell everyone I know to go to Jeffs new shop!
