Worst rental car experience ever. The counter people were ok except if they had a decent car they should have given it to me. I rented an intermediate car. I got a Toyota Corolla with the cheapest build possible. Not an intermediate car. It had a warning noise that kept going off for no discernable reason. Very annoying. Rough ride. Uncomfortable ride. Needed new tires badly. Maybe shocks or something else. Worst navigation system. The only reason that I rented from Hertz is someone told me they had the best navigation systems. It was the worst of the many navigation systems I have seen. I will never rent from Hertz again. Worst cars, highest prices. Disgusting.

Made a reservation for a specific time online. Lyft to the airport found out they had cars but “maybe would be ready in 4 hours but we have other reservations to fill first” so needless to say it we had to uber back to the hotel and not be able to have our day in Eugene. No apology given. Why would you even give a car reservations if you can’t fill the request. Waste of time and money! Horrible experience!

There was a hiccup with my reservation credit card. Rather than explore potential resolutions with me, for a rental I reserved through a third party and paid for in advance I was informed by a man identifying himself as a manager that it isnt my fault you cant afford a rental car.He then lied about your competitors policy not knowing I use them frequently. When I called him out for both being rude and being wrong he hung up on me.So I contacted the third party and spent an hour messaging their support back and forth. In the end they canceled my reservation and issued me a full refund. I guess they agreed that this is an unacceptable way to treat customers.I wont be back. This was the second time I rented from Hertz and it was also my second bad experience with them.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I have rented with Hertz before, trusted the name...apparently I was very wrong in letting them rest on their laurels of the name alone. I rented a car for 8 days, requested a specific car. I am an adult I get that fact that availability might not be there. However, there was one request of a model of a vehicle that I absolutely DID NOT want and would not accept. I was assured this would not be a problem. I reserved several WEEKS in advance, I was instructed to call two days before to see what vehicle would be available. I called 1 day before, thinking it would be even more accurate at that point. I was told there still would be no guarantee that I would not get the vehicle I did NOT want. When I indicated this was not acceptable and asked to speak with a manager, I was given the information a Manager would not be around until Monday, I asked for another supervisor or person in charge, I was told there was no one. Any full grown adult knows this is just not true. There is always someone who would be called in the case of a situation like this. then, low and behold, there was a number for the Portland Manager, which I was told was the Regional Manager. I waited on hold for 9 minutes to obtain the phone number, only to find out when I tried to leave a message that he is not a regional manager, but the manager of the Portland location. I then tried to obtain some contact information online regarding Hertz Corporate or complaint department, etc. I actually called 4 different numbers, with no options to get to a human person or discuss the issue at hand. I get that we are in a pandemic, we are all affected by the new normal, but that does not mean I should spend $600.00 of my hard earned money and get absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE or options. I will never use Hertz again, because as we know the world is not perfect and sometimes there are issues. Hertz has ZERO support if you should actually have an issue. I will take my rental tomorrow because I have no choice at this point. I have already paid my $600.00 (so what do they care). But, I will warn others to watch yourselves in this location and hopefully you dont have any issues. Fingers Crossed.

I really want to give 1 star but I can not. Everything was great. The truck, picking the truck up and returning it. The problem is that I stopped at a gas station a couple of miles away from the airport. I filled the truck up with gas that I paid cash for and then I returned the vehicle. They took the key and sent me a receipt by email stating that the tank was full when returned and then later I was charged 50 dollars for gas on my credit card. They said I need proof of buying gas which I could not provide but why even ask me for that proof when they had no proof of how much gas they supposedly put into the vehicle. Hertz used to be one of my favorite rental companies, not anymore

Hertz allows third party insurance scammers to prey on their patrons!!! I was involved in a car accident went online to reserve a hertz vehicle from their own website with the hertz logo on the website I reserved the car and it required a 34 dollar pre deposit which I paid. I received a confrontation page with number and a photo of the compact car in which I reserved telling me to go to the local location for pick up. When I arrived I was informed by the clerk that I had NOT reserved a car I had bought only broad travel insurance from a third party company out of state and most likely country. Mind you I was walking across town as I had just been in a accident. And then there was no car I could get because I had out of state vails drivers license with a Eugene address. This place is disgusting in customer service it’s a horrible company to allow people to be preyed apon... will never get my business!

So I have mixed feelings regarding Dollar rent a car in Eugene. I rented a car here this week and when I received it, it smelled terrible of cigarette smoke, but it was after midnight and I wanted to get to the hotel.I took it back in the next day and they exchanged it no problem for another car. Which was amazing. The thing I didnt love is there wasnt an apology, I was just told that the cleaners take care of that smell. I insisted they did not and was told that was strange.Thank you for exchanging the car I really appreciate it!Moving forward please inspect your vehicles prior to marking them ready.

I had rented a car a week earlier from a California location. While in Oregon, I noticed some minor mechanical issues with the vehicle and called Hertz. They directed me to this location for a replacement. I dont know the name of the guy who helped me (his badge just said trainee), but he was very friendly and helpful, and made the process simple and painless.

We had an issue with the contract written the day before at PDX. I tried calling Hertz on their “customer service” line and was told we needed to go back to the renting location to have them fix it. I told them we were 125 miles away from there and they told me I had to visit any Hertz location, so the Eugene location was the closet.Colton was able to get the problem resolved and explained everything clearly so I understood what to expect when we return the car back at PDX when we complete our trip. I only wish that the agent at PDX was this thourough as it would have prevented the issue in the first place.

So went there had the worst service rude messed everything about it BAD 😡😠😡😠😡AThe guy behind the counter was the most rudest individual sarcastic as hell and really did not want to help at all even after seeing the reservation was in there he still messed up basically we had to drive 30 minutes in an Uber to go rent a car from Enterprise and had a much better service.

Shady sales tacticsI booked a standard sized car, and when I arrived at the counter (after a long flight into the airport), i was asked is a Nissan Altima OK for you. I said sure. I then found out (when i returned the car) that there was an upcharge of $15/ day! apparently these days an Altima is a Full sized car !!! Piffle.if you must rent here - read you agreement when you sign it, dont rely on the (shady) guy behind the counter to explain the charges and be transparent (as you would with ANY OTHER CAR RENTAL AGENCY! I know Enterprise/National folks would never do that to me.

When I arrived at the Hertz counter they were closed early. I was told I would be reimbursed for my taxi to my hotel and back to the airport in the morning. They later said they were unable to do that and offered me a gift certificate. Additionally I was charged for the duration of the original reservation, and not reimbursed for the 12 hours I did not have the car, due to them closing prematurely.
