The service rep on the phone quoted me a service cost for the exact thing that I got replaced. When the technician arrived he then told me if would be more than double the cost for literally the exact service I had requested a quote on. He then proceeded to tell me that even though he hadnt diagnosed yet, I had already incurred the service cost by showing up, even though he showed up based on Sears false quote. This was 100% a bait and switch scheme.

I wish there was a way to choose a negative number of stars! What a joke ! I was sent an email to rate my recent service. I am still waiting for service. They have already charged me $2k for repairs over a month ago that still have not been completed. I am being told it will be June due to back ordered parts. I asked to cancel and get my money back and was told NO! Do you know how hard and expensive it is to feed a family for 3 months without a cooktop?? Sears should be ashamed. Do not use them , it is a scam .

Never turned up - more than a month ago was scheduled. Was NOT ABLE TO REACH SEARS, at any point, web or telephone, to correct. Service was never given. NOTE: 3 months later - found the new telephone number to reach Sears. who sent a repairman to give our refrigerator an annual checkup. Found a problem and promptly fixed it. Was impressed with his professional attitude and capability.

This is supposed to be for Sears Home Services; showed up in Inbox for me to rate, but there is no listing for HVAC service on the rating repair form; thats what we had--A checkup on our A.C. Had to hold a real long time on phone to get service. Then they told me there are 2 phone numbers: One for HVAC checkups and one for actual problems. I called the wrong one of course, but the customer service was very friendly. The tech who showed up seemed pretty glum, not very engaging. He checked our system out; said it was okay. When he left, he expressed his dissatisfaction with his job, overworked. Said he was quitting this week (or next). Made me nervous about how well my a.c. was just inspected, knowing he is disgruntled. He said so many techs have quit. He was burned out. Hope Sears can try to keep their service techs motivated. Ive always been pleased with Sears, but after all the things the tech was telling me, not sure I would want to use them again for this service.

Im so glad you asked! This repair has yet to occur, after 5 weeks, due to lack of parts. Im currently attempting to recover the $340.85 I paid in advance for labor and parts. Also $49.99 a month for the bogus Home Warranty Program which is also a total fraud. How can Sears sell you a product that they cant honor because they have AN ENDEMIC LACK OF PARTS . Over the past month I have attempted at least 20 calls with different departments of Sears, and spoken to at least 12 different people , because the right hand doesnt know what the left hand is doing. There is no unified or coordinated action. Each department is an island in an ocean of incompetence. They shove you off to someone else, transfer you to the wrong #, give you contradictory information, tell you they are sending you information via e-mail that never arrives, disconnect you, or simply hang up on you. No one seems to be in charge or able to give you a straight answer about anything--despite my requests to speak to a supervisor. The very fact you are asking me to comment on my recent repair (which never took place) is a perfect illustration of what Im saying.At this point I have taken the following actions: I have filed a Consumer Report Complaint with the Federal Trade Commision (FTC # 122757520);a copy of which is also being filed with the Better Business Bureau in Illinois where Sears headquarters are located for an investigation; negative reviews have posted on Yelp, Nextdoor, Fandom and other on line sites; I have also e-mailed your searscares dept (what a joke, and a total misnomer) with copy to Sears CEO Edward Lampert, as well as copy of same via USPS to the main office in Hoffman Estates, Illi.I have also written to the President of Sears Joelle Maher.I shall never, ever shop Sears again and caution anyone who reads this to beware because this is a company who has gone from being a former trusted brand to garbage and a shameless fraud.You deserve no stars, but Im giving you one as I wish to make ensure that my review will be published.

Requested service on September 23rd 2020. Service man unable to fix my washer needed to order the part. I received an email indicating I would have an appointment with Sears repairman on October 16th... I set aside time from work for the appointment but the repairman was a no show, there was no phone call, and no update. I called service repair at the 1 800 number and I was told that my part was still being located for my washer it has been 2 and a 1/2 months and my washer is still not repaired, I still dont get any updates, I have to call to receive updates, and the wait on the phone is 2 1/2 hours before anybody responds. In addition, Im always told that they will reach out to me within 48 hours with an update and they never do. This is the worst service I have ever received from Sears. What is the point of paying for warranty on an appliance if Sears cannot fix the problem in a timely manner. Will never purchase at Sears again.

The service was assigned to Elite Maintenance. They did not show for required preventative maintenance service yet they billed for service and we still can not get preventive service since they billed for this service.Sears has been ripped off, we have been ripped of since we paid for a service we are not receiving. Countless to Sears had been met with a we dont care attitude. Hope someone who read this cares.

The fridge technician who arrived timely was great. He was knowledgeable. He ordered parts. Parts were sent to us. Then nothing. I got an e-mail asking me to confirm that the parts arrived. I called the number. I was put through artificial computer hurdle limbo. There was no way to get to the point that i could confirm the parts arrived. There was no way to talk to a human. Then Sears is calling me wanting the parts back. If Sears knows they were delivered (to want them back) then why wont they send someone to make the repair. My fridge has not been repaired. But, I have three boxes Sears wants back.

George was our technician for furnace maintenance. I dont think I have met a more pleasant, energetic and knowledgeable technician. The service was ahead of schedule. Completed within a timely fashion and fully explained. His work area was spotless when he left. He is clearly an individual who enjoys his job and does it well. George is an individual who should be pushed for advancement and more responsibility. 5+ star experience.

The technician arrived on time and was pleasant, friendly, and professional. I just inherited the refrigerator by moving in and he did quite a bit of education on the product which was most helpful. He knew exactly what was wrong, fixed it in moments, provided us with a spare water filter, and did a preventative check. He certainly represented Sears in an ethical, friendly and professional manner. I wont use any other repair service again. When I call I will be asking for John. Sears is lucky to have an employee like that!

Refrigerators ice maker didnt work. rep came to the house replaced the ice maker and door flap for the ice. Very nice and quick fixing. Said would take about 48 hrs before it would work, because it has to adjust to the temperature. A week later, still no ice. Talked to a rep on phone, and discovered the cold setting wasnt set to the proper temp. He said should do it in 24 hrs. If not, it may be the thermostat is broken. Each person spoken to have been very nice and helpful.

The technician came on time and explained everything that he was doing and what exactly the problem with my dryer was and why it wasnt working. He also showed me how much lint had collected in the bottom of the dryer over the years and exactly how it can catch fire after time if not cleaned out. The first tech ID 0769827 who visited and ordered the parts was great and friendly but the Tech ID 0003525 was sarcastic in answering questions like when I asked him how long he has been with sears as a tech he sarcastically said 3 weeks only, asked him if he has a training, he said none, which is very clear that he was kidding and kind of bragging who he is. No wonder the door of the ref he repaired has slight problem only, like not closing tightly but after he repaired and replaced some part, the door became worst like when you open the door there’s a loud click noise and dragging down. A lousy and very dissatisfactorily job done considering a good company like Sears.

Reuben was friendly, professional and courteous. He explained the problem with my dryer and gave me some helpful pointers for maintaining my washer and dryer as well. Sears was also able to send some one out right away, so I did not have to wait 10 days for the other local repair company I have used in the past. I will definitely use them again the next time I need help with an appliance repair.

I received a phone call, from the service center call desk, that the technician was running long on the service appointment before mine. My service window, was 8AM-12PM, the technician arrived @.12;15PM and completed the failure to start issue, that wed been having, by cleaning the fuel shut off solenoid. He was done in about 20-25 minutes. He explained what he was doing and was very personable.

I wish I could give them 0 stars! I ordered a dryer for our new house. I had it installed a week before moving in. When I moved in and turned on the gas line which the delivery/installation men hooked up I smelled gas. I had our gas and electric company send some one out which took a week where we could not use our appliance. It turns out that the hose that goes from the gas line to the dryer was so loose that you could turn the connection with your fingers, not needing a wrench or anything! Thank god I told him not to turn the gas on since I was not moving in for a week or the house would have been filling up with gas. Really disappointed and shocked at how dangerous this is. They could end up seriously hurting or killing someone with this carelessness not to mention the reputational risk to the company. Needless to say, I will not be using any further Sears home services going forward.

Our technician was excellent . But the process of getting the ordered part was not satisfactory . Although the box arrived in one day and was also noted by UPS that it was in fact delivered and that our rescheduled repair date was made with the technician,we could not have that date unless we opened the box to determine if it was the correct and undamaged ordered product and inform the call center that it was ok.The call center person had an accent that was difficult to understand and he would not acknowledge my statement that we were not knowledgeable in repairs and would not know if it was the correct ordered part or not damaged . He just kept repeating the required script. I think it is the responsibility of the repair group to take care of all of the parts etc ..not the clientSecondly this dishwasher is not the implied quality product . When the directions say its good to use detergent pods but the technician says the pump cannot handle that much soap leading to a leak or other problems .. turns out that the sensor was also defectiveThis not built to withstand typical use . This less than 3 years old ,Our technician kept trying to get it to work - thank you for staying til it was fixed

The repair man was very knowledgable and extremely efficient. He diagnosed the problem immediately and was able to fix and fine tune our riding mower to our great satisfaction. So far its running better than when new. The cost was well within reason for the efficient work done.

It took three separate visits to get it right and it was over a two month period of needing to go to laundromat. The service people were nice but it did not repair the problem and each one after found a different issue. If they stayed to run a cycle the washer problem would have been fixed right away, vs saying it was fixed and then leaving even though we asked them to stay. The last person came back and solved the problem finally. He gets a 5 star rating.

The first technician that arrived to assess the problem was pleasant, on-time and very informative. If he was the only person I interacted with the rating would have been higher. My experience with the second technician that came back with the replacement part was not as pleasant. He also missed the first 4-hour window and I had to reschedule after losing half of a day. More likely the people that do the scheduling and not his fault but trying to accommodate a 4-hour window and then not have the technician show up is difficult. Other than that, the fridge was repaired quickly.

Working with Sears is really painful. I have had to guy come in 4 times to fix the issue. First time guy came and ordered parts. I had to call again Sears to get appointment. Guy comes after a week installs parts leaves saying I am good to go. With in few minutes I see the same issue. I call Sears, they tell me to keep lines open. I waited for 2 hours and called them back. I am told that serviceman was done for day. Sears doesnt even have courtesy to inform me. On top of that they ask to call back next day for another appointment. This is the worst service I have had. I really dont want to buy anything from Sears. Sears appointment window is half day. I had to take off 4 days to get my washer fixed. Dont count on Sears to fix anything in a meaningful time frame. Their customer service is a JOKE

As far as fixing the problem we had with our washer, the technician was in and out in no time. The washers been working fine ever since. However, we discovered that the drain hose hadnt been put back where it needed to be right, and it popped out during the next load we did. So, a warning: the service was still near perfect, but always watch out that everythings been put back the way it was before.

We had a maintenance contract with Sears for some 8 years. When our dishwasher, a Bosch, continued to have multiple problems in the 5th year of that contract, Sears repair persons diagnosed one problem that itself, resulted in over $1,000 in services and merchandise that Sears used to try to repair a machine that one of their repair persons said was the same problem for many of his clients. Sears would not replace this dishwasher, saying that we had not had 4 repairs on the same problem. We had; we had the receipts to show this. We cancelled the contract. We will NEVER shop at Sears again. But yes. We would if they would replace a truly defective machine as well as service personnel that seem to be automatons serving Sears rather than their customer, me.

It should have been a simple repair. All parts had been ordered & shipped to our house already. We were given a 4 hour window for the repair man to arrive, he called 1 hour before that was up and said hed be at least 2 hours late. We had to reschedule because of that delay.We were given another 4 hour window for the repair man to arrive. They came and fixed our washer but when we did a load of laundry the next day the washer wasnt leveled and rocked everywhere.Another 4 hour window was scheduled for 3 days later (no appointments on weekends & of course they had nothing for monday). The repair man arrived and the 1st thing he said was he had leveled the washer. You could see it was not level with the dryer and no one else had touched it except to do a load of laundry!3 appointments and 10-12 hours later we finally have a repaired, working washer.

Serviceman located the problem, it was a thermostat we had installed a year ago - the last time the furnace stopped working. Thermostat was replaced, we paid for the new one. Its a shame the warranty on a thermostat is so limited, cant even get a years worth of good out of one . Its the third one we had to put in since getting the new furnace. We have heat now AND a new thermostat, hope it lasts longer than the last new one. Sears - good service - cheap product (how does an electronic thermostat go bad? What breaks in a year and why cant someone make a longer lasting product?)

I purchased a Kenmore elite front load washer 8 years ago. The washer kept flashing code F35. I called for service and was told I needed a main control board. I was also told that they no longer made parts for that washer. Sears had to send the control board for repair. When the part was returned, the washer still did not work. The technician told me that there was nothing more he could do to repair it. I now have to buy an new washer and try to match the existing dryer, due to the fact that they were purchased as a pair. I am very dissatisfied that I spend $4800.00 and now have to buy another set. I fell that Sears should stand by the products they sell.

We were able to get a next day appointment when our washer stopped working in the middle of a load. We really like our Kenmore washing machine and did not want to have to replace it. The service repair person called prior to coming and arrived on schedule. She was able to diagnose the problem and replace the malfunctioning part. I was very disappointed in sears service help. My technician tried to helpe by calling sears service to get me a whole house protection warranty. He was on the phone with sears representatives for one hour. No one could help him. Each representative told him to call another number and each time he called, they told him they could not help him.He asked to speak to their supervisor or manager and was told no one was available. The representative did not offer to take a message and have a supervisor or manager call him back.If a sears representative cannot get help from sears, the company he works for, how can I, a consumer, expect help from sears? For this reason I cancelled my appliance protection warranty.I purchased all my high end applications from sears and now will not buy from sears again. I’ll not be a repeat sears customer and will find another company to buy from. Also, I’ll warn family and friends against purchasing from sears.My technician was a kind and caring man and was very apologetic regarding not being able to help me. The repair work he was able to perfrom was great and did an excellent job repairing my appliance.

Though our freezer is working, our refrigerator is not. Sears cannot repair it until one week from today, which is extremely disappointing, and will prove to be very costly, given the fact that my husband and I have no way to store fresh food for the next 7 days. In speaking with a customer service representative, she informed me that our ticket would be placed on an emergency list, which would be answered by an available technician, if one materialized. I was happy to hear that, but confused by her statement that it was my responsibility to either call the company back, or check online regularly, to lobby for that available emergency appointment. When I asked to speak with her manager so that I could have that process explained again to me, she asked me why I wanted to speak with a manager. I repeated that I was confused and would like to have a manager explain the process to me. She asked me again why I wanted to speak with a manager. After again repeating my request, I was passed on to a manager, who explained that Sears would inform me if and when a technician became available on an emergency basis. Ideally, a service window will open, but its clear that whereas my husband and I have trusted Sears for their simplicity and promptness, it appears that we will no longer be able to do so.

If my option was a negative star I would have rated Sears a negative star. We bought a dryer from Sears a year ago. We bought an extended warranty. I have bought nothing but Sears for nearly 30 years. Many times Ive bought the extended warranty because Sears was pretty good with its service. Two weeks ago we started to smell gas at the end of the drying cycle. We have been put off several times for our repair. Ive found out, from the repair guy as he was trying to get out the service call, he could only do a portion of the repair. He wasnt certified to switch a propane valve. I was going to have to schedule another technician not associated with Sears to complete the job. This has caused a series of appointments with each one being cancelled at the last moment. The latest cancellation came from a person named Tameeka. I asked Tameeka why we had been cancelled she said, and I quote, I dont have to tell you. All I have to do is tell you the appointment was cancelled. Really Tameeka? Then she went into robot mode in the sense my protocols ------. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She referred me to another phone number as part of her protocol. Sear may win this skirmish of customer service while saving a buck or two but they have lost a life long customer. This ends nearly 30 years of loyalty but obviously Sears customer service is more about using robotic phone calls, cancellation of appointments and telling the customer how nice they are for just to talking with you. Their customer service is the worst that Ive experienced in nearly 2 decades. Im warning and suggesting that you NEVER buy anything from Sears. Their customer service and warranties use to mean something. No longer. Their customer service and warranties mean nothing.

I believe the technicians name was Karen but not positive. She was very friendly and professional in her actions and she fixed our problem in a matter of moments. She explained what had happened to the washer, showed me how it was repaired and ensured the area of the washer was cleaner then when she showed up. Washing Machine wouldnt shut off automatically when out of balance. Repairman arrive at the beginning of the two hour window, assessed the problem in a matter of minutes. Machine would cost too much to repair, warranty gave me allowance toward the purchase of a new machine. I was very happy to get the machine I wanted and only pay $59.00 out of pocket.

The repair didnt fix the issue. The refrigerator is 2.5 years old and has needed over $1,000 worth of repairs. Fortunately, we purchased the extended warranty. However, we havent been reimbursed for the lost food and we will have been without our refrigerator for a month by the time the second repair attempt is made next week.

The technician that repaired the spin told me that parts of the washer had rusted from a prior leak, so I kept my eye on it and sure enough it had started to leak again, so I called for another repair, and now my washer spins and doesnt leak. I am happy with the work.

Very pleased with the technicians attitude and his willingness to answer all of my questions, plus solve the problem of ice buildup on the 2nd freezer drawer. Not every technician has been so customer-oriented when theyve come out to service my French-door refrigerator. Hope he stays with Sears, I want to ask for him in the future.

Salwan, the Sears representative who came to my home to inspect and verify the leak in my water heater was very efficient, courteous and respectful. He proceeded about the task at hand, made all the proper communications and then told me that I would be getting a new replacement water heater which would be covered by my warranty presently in force.

First visit the tech did not have the part and had to order one which I paid for with my credit card; the 2nd tech came back and installed the part and the install service was fine.The problem I have is with the billing department. I tried to use the 20% off coupon when the tech came back to do the actual install and he said he couldnt take it because I had already paid. When I called into the toll free number they refused to refund the 20% off, and when I asked for a manager, they said they would refer to billing, but I never got a call back. I think it was terrible that they wouldnt refund the 20% onto my credit card even though I asked on the day the actual service was provided. Im not happy about this! I would still like to receive a call from the billing group to get this resolved and then I would be happy to change my rating.

The Sears technians that came to my home and provided the actual service were wonderful, professional and knowledgeable - I would use them again any day! However, Sears customer service was appallingly bad. I have never seen anything like it. They are rude, lied to me over the phone, and are extremely unhelpful. Very disappointing!!!

The same service man did a lousy job on my 15 month refrigerator. I paid $95.00 service call and $200.00 for a follow up. He said he would do certain work and did not complete the service. I have just spent $1400 replacing the refrigerator (Whirlpool) that I am certain the Sears Tech.ruined being inept and rude.. During this process, my wife asked to speakto management persons without a response. If you are counting on service, with or without a warranty, go somewhere else!

Timing and service man were excellent. We were given a fee of $95 for diagnosis. The problem was a loose attachment on battery terminal which was tightened....... $65 extra for that??? Come on. Wont use again

First of all the Salesmen that we have come in contact with at the store are great!! The repairman that has come to our home, Renee did a fantastic job each time he came. BUT the service department was the worst we have ever dealt with... We call it the SORRY DEPARTMENT. They gave us the run-around, never got the service correct, cancelled 4 times, would not let us speak to a manager to straighten all the confusion out! All we got was a Sorry and the confusion continued... Then the last so called appointment they didnt even inform the repairman and when he called to tell us that he was coming he was shocked that they did NOT inform him... He took matters into his hands, apologized and told me he would take care of it... We have since gotten a new TV... Thanks Renee

The tech quickly found the problem and had the part to fix it in his truck. The total cost was considerably too high. the part cost was about $40 and the time of the repair, including the diagnostics, was less than an hour. When the service call cost of $100 is included the cost was well over $250. That is high since the service call was not credited towards the repair as previously was the case with Sears.

The Technician was excellent. He was courteous, and professional in his demeanor, and fixed the problem with the refrigerator, and explained what was the problem, and so on. I would like to have the same Technician in the future because he was so professional.
