Dr. Roosta has been the dentist for my family since she began her practice in Ellicott City. She and her staff have consistently provided excellent care during this entire period. I recently broke a front tooth at the gum line several days before leaving by air on a long-planned vacation. From my first call to my first visit, the staff at excel dental were delightful. The receptionist was friendly and got me in the following week. Dr. Roosts was the first person I saw when I walked in the door and she greeted me with so much warmth. Tamar was my hygienist and was so personable and professional. Dr. Roost took time to talk me through the exam findings and plan. From beginning to end, I had a great experience.

This was the best dentist appointment I’ve ever had. The staff were so welcoming and friendly! We also felt very safe with their Covid conscious practices. My hygienist was great at explaining what was going on with the health of my teeth and when it came to my teeth cleaning she was gentle yet effective! I have needed a new dentist as I had not had my teeth cleaned in three years and I was having some discomfort in my upper right teeth. I prefer to see a woman if at all possible so I did a search for female dentists in my area. I was able to submit my request online and was called the next day to schedule.Dr. Maryam Roosa and her assistant were wonderful, they explained in detail what they were going to do. I called the EJM Dental Studio in Columbia and they sent over my panoramic X-ray quickly. (EJM did a great job, they are just a bit beyond my budget)Dr. Roosa checked my teeth, cleaned them, noted cracks in three, recommended I have my current crown replaced and put a new crown on the tooth with a broken filling. She showed me the X-ray and suggested my options allowing me to decide how to proceed.I did not feel pressured into anything. The office is clean, comfortable, a screen with a nature photo and relaxing music playing. This is the place for people who are fearful of dentists. I totally enjoyed the experience and my teeth are feeling so much better!The receptionist was very helpful and called to ask if I would like to come in earlier as they had a cancellation and the icing on the cake is the lip balm on the counter which is provided for patients comfort. Bonus points & five stars!!

Dr Roosta recently took over my old dentists practice. I loved my old dentist but am happy to report that that Dr Roosta and her staff have filled his shoes!! Everyone I have met there is extremely friendly, efficient and professional. A medical problem complicates my care but she is always accommodating and sensitive to my special needs.

I was so worried when Devlin retired, However, he chose an excellent replacement. I have a very small mouth and quick gag reaction. Dr. Roosta had to fill the last tooth in the bottom of my mouth. During a routing teeth cleaning, Dr. Roosta explained that I had a cracked filling and recommended I get it fixed ASAP. I procrastinated and 1 month later the same tooth became extra-sensitive and mildly painful. I left a phone message after-hours asking for an appointment and the next morning they offered to see me immediately. The filling was replaced in less than 30 minutes and was a pain-free experience. The next morning my tooth calmed down and felt normal again. Ive had four dentists in three states and I never saw a dentist work so fast and expertly. Dr. Roosta and her assistant made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Roosta and her staff for preventative and corrective dental care. Thank you Dr. Roosta!!

My 87 year old sister went today for her appointment. I had called to this morning to confirm since we hadn’t heard anything. When she arrived, the building was being remodeled and the foreman told her the office was in Columbia. This is totally unacceptable! Today, we received a call from Dr. Roosta with a sincere apology about the problem yesterday. I had checked our phone log which showed there was a call from the office on Monday but there was no message. We werent familiar with the name of the individual but when I called that phone number, it was their office. Dr. Roosta was very understanding and apologetic. My sister has rescheduled her appointment and will continue to use Dr. Roosta. As for me, I still use my dentist in Pennsylvania. After 36 years with that practice, I am loyal to them plus I get to see friends and family.

My husband works at the Verizon next door. While he was eating lunch on the side of the building because there is nowhere else to eat on a 30min break.Someone from this office approached him and ask why he was outside. NOT!!! On their property I mind you still on the Verizon side. I can only assume since he was a man of color that they felt uneasy with him sitting there eating his lunch minding his own business.......wouldn’t recommend people to take care of your teeth if they don’t have any humanity.

I had a pleasant experience with a comprehensive check up and cleaning.

I had a trauma to a tooth that needed immediate attention. After years of avoiding dentists despite having Delta Dental coverage, I was at a loss how to go about finding a dentist. Luckily my wife knew Dr. Roosta and recommended her practice to me. It turned out that the tooth was cracked and needed extraction. Dr. Roosta offered to do the extraction herself or refer me to a specialist upon which we decided on the latter. She then arranged for the tooth extraction by Dr. Niel at the Howard County Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery within the hour (which apparently is unheard of).Since then, I had additional work done at Excel Dental Care including two fillings and debridement/scaling/root planing. Im quite happy with the quality of care Ive been receiving. In addition, the staff is pleasant and professional and Dr. Roosta always has a big smile on her which puts me at ease.
