I was referred to Dr. Modarres from Orthodontic Associates Columbia as a second opinion on getting braces for my teeth. Dr. Modarres was blunt and honest about the state of my teeth and gums. He and his team both took great care in making use I understood everything. They explained to me what was going on and what the results meant that they were showing me.A little background: Ive gotten braces two times before already. I am foolish and silly adult who didnt wear retainers after they broke each time. My teeth shifted and now I was seeing if I could get braces again. After two shots at braces, I had teeth resorption where my roots are shorter than normal. My orthodontist didnt feel comfortable proceeding with braces and referred me to Dr. Modarres as a second opinion. A very well qualified and educated periodontist.At the practice: I brought my x-ray and ct scan of my teeth from Orthodontic Associates Columbia to Ellicott City Smiles. Turns out the software was not compatible since the usb didnt include the program to visualize the ct scans. They asked if I wanted to take a CT scan at their practice for free since they couldnt run the program. The multiple exposure to CT scans were a little worrisome but the I consented. After getting the results Dr. Modarres sat down with me and walked me through ct scans. He showed the length of my roots in millimeters, the position of my teeth, and the distance between gun and bone. Overall he could not in good faith consent to getting braces again. At the point of resorption I had the risk way outweighs the benefits.I am extremely grateful that Dr. Modarres was frank with me. I wouldnt want it any other way. I asked him if there were any other options I had for a specific unsightly tooth that I had. Dr. Modarres looked at the CT scan and explained that the problem tooth turned out to be one of the longer roots that could undergo orthodontics. I had no idea that you could spot shift a single tooth with braces. He also gave be a myriad of other options such as veneers or potential gum surgery for aesthetics. I also consulted him about TMJ issues I have and was worried about. He referred me to an on-site jaw doctor to see if that could cause issues in the future for me.Dr. Modarres and his team really listened to the concerns I had. I trust his diagnosis of my roots and the potential problem I could have if I were to get braces. This practice doesnt run for the money but for the good health of your smile and body. Ethically I would always bet on Dr. Modarres to lead you in the right direction.Cleanliness: there was hand sanitizer every where and the office looked very clean. I would say its a 5/5 on perceptible cleanliness

I have severe anxiety and bad teeth which a bad match for going to the dentist. However, having this lovely people walk me through it calms me down and I start looking forward to my visits. They have stress balls and always make such I’m okay. I would recommend this place to anyone who is a little nervous.

This was my first visit as a new patient! All my concerns where addressed by the well trained, professional and knowledgeable staff. I was very impressed with how clean, efficient and organized the office and exam rooms are. EC Smiles heavily invested in technology that was useful in educating me on problem areas. Even better, the staff gave me helpful suggestions on how to address my problems and improve my overall dental health. Highly recommend!

Very pleasant and helpful front staff team. Dental assistant was very knowledgeable and friendly. Asked about any anxieties I may have had about the dentist and gave me background information on the dental practice and the dentist. Dr. Modarres was very kind and knowledgeable. He LISTENED to my concerns He printed an academic article for me read while he explained to me exactly what was happening with my gums. He also encouraged me to read more articles (explaining to me where to find proper peer reviewed articles) to educate myself. The entire experience was pleasant. I have already scheduled my 6wks follow up.

Excellent service! I called this morning to schedule an appointment for tooth pain. Was told the earliest availability was in 3 weeks. I asked if there was anything earlier and the office let me know that they would call back if they had an opening. Jenna called back in an hour. The office got me in for a same-day appointment. They listened to my circumstance and easily diagnosed my need for a root canal. I was super nervous but Dr. Modarres and Rena were very patient and charismatic. They explained everything to me and referred my to another office for the root canal. Will return!

Ellicott City Smiles Dental Group is the best dentist Ive found in the area. They were able to get me in same day for tooth pain and have been excellent at addressing both the present issue and the underlying causes. Each person is attentive and listens to your concerns. They can take care of most issues in the office. Theyre also fantastic at observing safety and cleanliness in the office.My 8 year daughter also met them and is quite particular (dreads?) most doctor and dental appointments. After one appointment she said shed be happy to come back here. Ive already recommended then to a friend and am happy to do the same to anyone reading this review.

Very well run dental practice. My hygienist (Brenda) who did an excellent job, to the dentists evaluation on my treatment plan, I was pleased. The dentists superb knowledge and skills set this dental office apart from all the other dental practices around the area. Kudos to the front office staff member (I cant recall her name but has glasses) for running the front office as she was the conductor of an orchestra.My only concern is a recommendation: enhance the lobby/front area to allow more room and air flow.

Sheyoka is AMAZING! She is by far the best dental hygienist that ive met. She has such a wonderful personality and you can tell she cares for you as a patient. My experience at Ellicott City Smiles Dental. From entering the door and through my total appointment, everyone treated me as I was the most important person there. I felt comfortable and all of my concern and questions were answered.

Had a couple cavities filled on 3/24 which was a great experience as always. I was told if anything transpired afterwards, to call back. Everything seemed fine until a couple weeks later when I started experiencing excruciating pain. I called the Dentist back, spoke with the front office and told them my symptoms. They were adamant about referring me to a root canal specialist. I informed the front office that this is not a root canal issue but a bite issue. She still wanted to refer me. So I contact another dentist and low and behold id was a bite issue. I had to contact someone else to fix this issue because whomever I spoke with would not listen to my concerns. So disappointing.

My husband Hector is a patient at this clinic. They have a complete team of professionals that provides outstanding services to their clients. Their dedication to excellence is unique. I recommend this group without reservations.

I had to have an extraction and an implant. These are unpleasant procedures to experience. Fortunately for me. my dentist referred me to Dr. Modarres. His the consummate professional. He took the time to clearly explain the procedures and set appropriate expectations. I received the best possible care and a very successful outcome. Dr. Modarres is compassionate, thoughtful, and generally a terrific human being. I wouldnt want to go through this again, but Id choose him in a heartbeat if I need to do this again.

This was our first visit to this office. Everyone was extremely nice and professional. Dr. Kaur answered all of our questions, was very thorough, well informed, and knowledgeable. When the dentist came in he made me feel very comfortable as well and was very professional. I highly recommend this office if you have not been here.

Had two surgeries done at this place and both times I was told what the insurance covered and my price of each procedure. I HAD total confidence in the staff that the quote they gave me was correct and could plan for it in my budget. 2 months after each procedure I was then sent a bill saying I owe a extra 900$ on one procedure and 300$ on another. If you tell a customer a quote and that the insurance will cover stick with it. This is bad business and I will never recommend this dental office to anyone!

Solved a long standing problem that had baffled 4 other doctors. So happy to get to the bottom of this problem! Delighted to have met Dr Reza Modarres.Not only that, Rachel his assistant, tracked down a doctor for me via a patient with the same condition. I am so appreciative of their kindness and dedication.Since then I have had an extraction of a tooth which was the purpose of the original consultation. The office is very high tech. For the bone graft your own blood is mixed with the graft material to enhance healing and avoid rejection. He uses a membrane which functions as a ‘bandaid’ keeping all the graft packing in and avoiding the risk of very painful dry socket. The post op/ home care instructions were very thorough. Much more comprehensive than previous instructions from other dentists.Dr Modarres has a very gentle touch and a reassuring manner. His entire staff is friendly and competent.I have a lot of experience with dental offices and procedures in my life and I can say with all honesty this is the best dentist and best office I have ever been to.Every visit confirms the competence, professionalism of this dentist. I can’t say enough good things about Dr Modarres.

I am a first time patient at this practice, and was coming in for an invasive procedure. I was extremely nervous about payments, and how difficult the possible procedure was.Not only did they provide me multiple options to pay, they also walked me through ever step of my treatment, and what exactly they were going to do to my teeth, and made sure to go over post-operation treatment multiple times. Went in for a cleaning and new patient visit, and had an excellent experience. The hygienist, Sheyoka, was amazing, taking time to explain everything and doing a wonderful job. Dr. Modarres was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Would not hesitate to recommend.

I happened to find Ellicott City Smiles Dental Group when looking for a dentist to handle a dental emergency situation. Boy was I lucky. Doctor Moderres and his group were very responsive to my emergency situation. I was very impressed with the total operation. Everyone from the front desk back works as a team. This speaks well of Dr. Moderres approach to dental health, providing a comfortable atmosphere ( as much as can be done in a dental office...). Needless to say I have made Ellicott City Smiles Dental Group my new dentist. I have already referred one person who has made an appointment, and I would recommend them to any one looking for a dentist, especially if you have complicated issues.

There by far the greatest staff of workers! I ve never felt more safe and cared for! I reviewed the previous ratings prior to my making an appt due to a ref. So I decided to go and I am so Happy I Did!!! I Love the entire staff I had the opportunity to meet! I especially , truly appreciate Dr Reza Modarres!!!
