I have been on a lot of charters before and I can 100% say that this was the best all around charter I’ve ever been on. First off, our guide Brett was amazing. He was able to put me and my girlfriend on a lot of fish. We caught more fish than I have on any other charter I’ve been on. Also the experience of fishing from a kayak vs a boat was amazing! Something completely different and unique. Brett was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of what he was doing! Highly recommend to anyone that is looking to do a charter and definitely think you should consider doing a kayak charter over a boat charter as it is both cheaper, yet unique and still catch just as much if not more fish than if you were on a boat.

Brett was absolutely amazing and hosted a perfect Eco tour for our family. Four of us had never been in a kayak before and we all felt like pros within 15 minutes after setting sail. My son is 16 and has some special needs. Brett was a super hero with him and my Ming excelled. Brett picked an amazing location and took us out in the perfect weather. This will DEFINITELY be a yearly adventure for years to come….and since we are all fishermen and now have some kayak experience, the next trip will be fishing! Thanks for an amazing trip full of memories.

The Only reason Im giving 4 stars is so that you read this review. ( i usually look at 4 star reviews for a real review.) Definitely 5 stars...i went with a night time inshore trip and it was amazing.. Great communication all the way up to launch time from my awesome local guide. He caught all of our bait before I even arrived. Top of the line kayak and gear. Pedaled for 20 minutes to a secret hole and started catching reds and trout right off the bat even in less than ideal weather.. Brent was patient with this newbie, sharing tips and tricks all night. When the sun set we leisurely pedaled back catching more fish at every dock. I tired out before Brent! Great experience and cant wait to bring my friends and family back. Congrats Captain Dave on your new addition to the family. No doubt hell be hooking lunkers with you soon!

Booked a trip with Captain Dave several weeks ago. Surprise!! Hurricane Ida decided to make land fall the day of my kayaking trip. Brett, my guide, contacted me and changed the day of the trip which meant he had to put his personal life on hold to make sure I had the trip of a lifetime!! Brett was fantastic!! Local homegrown fisherman who knew the area and honey holes!! Best of all he was great company and really down to earth. I felt like I was fishing with a friend instead of a hired hand. Fantastic, guided night fishing outing with Brett, all tops as caught a half dozen speckled trout and several other species while learning the ropes of kayak fishing at night. An added highly recommended experience to my decade of kayak fishing on freshwater, and definitely plan on booking outings with them on our next trip to Destin/Ft. Walton. If you are looking for a cool peddle kayak experience, this is it! We met our guide Brett at a cool spot in Santa Rosa and headed out for the day. We caught redfish, trout and catfish (and some sun rays!). My husband is a big fisherman so Brett was kind enough to let him do his thing but also give him guidance on the area. Me not so much so he spent time teaching me the proper cast and rigs, and what do you know, I caught a ton! We will be back!

I have Fished all my life. Brett was on point, Excellent Captain / Angler!He suggested night fishing on the bay and I was all for it. No boat traffic, No HEAT!! , the whole bayou area we fished all to ourselves!If you fish a lot you know those conditions are unheard of.Brett put me on my first ever Red Fish and I was beside myself, also stud Gator Trout and some healthy trout.To top it off the fellowship and personality of this guide and trip we’re top notch.Highly Recommend Kyak Fishing DestinIf you want to have a Awesome time.

WOW!!! That was an amazing trip. We caught redfish, trout and even a flounder. I have fished the bay many times but never like this. Captin Dave is such a personable guy with a lot of knowledge. Even with my years of experience I left with a bunch of tips from him that greatly improved my fishing.Can’t wait to go again!!

I went fishing with KFD a few times and can say Dave knows his stuff. Not only did we catch plenty of fish but learned a lot of local knowledge. Dave is a super nice and humble guy and knows his stuff. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED !!

Overall, Dave seemed like a very nice and respectable person on the phone. However, I called him once to discuss pricing, but could never get ahold of him after. Very disappointed that it didn’t work out, I was looking forward to fishing. As another review said, it does seem like the business is just ran by an ordinary person with an extra kayak.

I would highly recommend an inshore trip with Kevin. We went out this week at night and it was a great experience. Absolutely no boat traffic to be seen all night and it was a peaceful and serene environment. Experience Destin like you have never before. I am a avid kayak angler and have fished for multiple years out of a pedal drive kayak. However, Kevin has techniques using two kayaks together to make manuevers like I have never seen before.Several Trout and Reds were landed. Including two new personal bests for myself. I had chartered a boat a couple days before my trip with Kevin. It was twice the price and yielded half the fish. I am a bass fisherman and Kevin is a great instructor who was able to pass on some techniques with me. This was probably one of my favorite fishing outings that I have had.

Great trip with Dave and Kevin! Definitely was the highlight of our vacation. We will be back next year to fish with them again! Very personal and these guys know how to catch fish!!!!

I purchased a sweet deal in 2018 for a fishing trip. However, I am not able to redeem it. I have tried numerous times with no luck. Either they are fully booked ( that was the latest) and I was told they were fully booked before I told them what date I wanted. Or they are out of town. Or, they are having phone issues. Always excuses.

I went out fishing with the owner of this company. He is courteous, on time, and really knows his stuff. He was willing to take out just one person and it made for a great experience. He has top notch equipment for your use and really put me on to catching some fish. Best of all, hes not just out to take advantage of the tourists. He obviously has many years experience doing this. Well worth the money and time spent for a good experience and some things learned.

These guys are AWESOME! We arent avid fishermen but we had a great time and Capt Dave was very professional and polite! This is a definite reccomended thing to do in Destin if you want to try something different!

Dave and Justin,Thanks for a memorable evening. Top notch experience with two friendly and knowledgeable guides. While we did not catch a bunch, we were put onto plenty of fish - perhaps a bit unwilling but thats not the guides fault. I did not fish with Dave, but with Justin, and enjoyed my time with him very much. Learned more about certain casting techniques with him in a very short period of time than with any other person - ever. Very practical advice. All usable, and effective. We did see some monsters (redfish and specks), as well as a sea monster well let Dave tell you about later. It was a beautiful night cruising around the bay and canals. Some advice.... know that you are going to get wet if you paddle. No biggie, just gauge that with temps and wind. We were comfortable with water temp around 70 and night temps in the high 60s/low 70s with no wind. Wind would have made it a different story. Great night, thanks to you both!!!!!

Kayak Fishing Destin is fishing with a couple of guys that bought spare kayaks to take tourists fishing in a cove down the street from their house. In a half day trip my group of 4 landed one tiny fish. KFD tried over-charging me, they didnt have bait upon arrival, we launched late, blah, blah, blah...The whole experience was unprofessional & disorganized -- Id recommend peir fishing or surf fishing, or throwing $150 out of your car window instead (at least doing this youll salvage 4 hours of your vacation time).

NOT WORTH IT! Im from Texas and nearly every fishing trip we go on we catch our limit of trout and Redfish in a couple hours..Well me, my dad, my girlfriend and her dad booked an inshore fishing trip out of Destin. The whole trip costed $600. For $600 you would expect to have a great time and catch some fish.. Well it was not the experience we were looking for. We ended up catching around 5 rat reds no longer than 6 inches and maybe 10 trout no longer than 9 inches... I caught one redfish that was maybe 17 inches (still a rat red). And I think that this was a good day for them.. Every Time you pulled up a 7 or 8 inch trout they would say oh thats a nice one or something of that nature.. Anytime you needed bait you had to paddle all the way over towards them and have them bait your hook.. There were times where our guide would say paddle over there around that dock and you would paddle over there and lose your bait and have a 10 minute paddle back to where he was with the bait bucket.. After I had a pinfish steal my bait like 5 times in a row I asked if I could throw an artificial bait and he said sure and handed me a 56 ultra light rod with probably 8 pound test line.. We obviously werent targeting any fish with some size to them.. The rudder on my dads kayak broke and they said they had been having trouble with the kayak and that they should have brought the other ones instead.. Yes if we are spending a lot of money on a fishing trip than yall should have brought the best equipment for the occasion... it was not the trip I was hoping for.. The only reason I am giving them one star is because it makes me chose one.. Otherwise they wouldnt have even got one.... SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ON AN OFFSHORE CHARTER INSTEAD!
