We had a great time with captain Chris and AndrewWe did the 6 hr trip and He put us on fish after fish. Andrew was great with keeping up with my 3 kids lines and getting fish measured and in the cooler.The boat was clean and organized and all their gear worked flawlessly.Next time we are in Destin we will be booking with these guys again for sure.

This trip was incredible! The Au Sum was well appointed, perfectly laid out for relaxing between fishing spots, and roomy enough for all six of us. Captain Chris put us right on top of the fish every time. One or more of us caught something at every stop. The first mate, Andrew, was all over it. He never stopped moving while we were fishing. He gave us helpful pointers, kept our hooks baited, took every fish off, measured and gave species info when we were curious. This was a gem of a trip that I will always treasure. I would like to thank Captain Chris and his first mate Andrew for an awesome day. We are locals and I have a bay boat. When I want to go out the Destin Pass. We will again do it on the Au Sum. He put us on fish every stop. We hit our Red Snapper limit by the second stop. He knew how deep the fish were. It was an amazing trip. I cant wait to do it again.

Fishing was new for us and we had a great time they did a great job with our kids and the crew were very hands on and had the best attitudes. Captain Chris and Mate Andrew seriously know how to catch fish. Chris has tremendous knowledge and experience of the area to know where the fish are holding. My dad and I have fished several charters throughout the years in various locations along the ocean, but this was different: we caught fish nonstop at every spot. Probably caught 100+ fish! We landed grey, red, white, vermilion snappers, trigger fish, king Mack! Andrew worked so hard nonstop to keep us baited with plenty of rods to go at any time. We will definitely fish with them again, highly recommend!

It was a great trip and the crew was awesome. We did the 8 hour trip and we regretted not booking a longer trip. The captain was very accommodating and he put us on a lot of different species. Travis, the deckhand was cool as heck and he worked his butt off and took care of us. Always remember to tip big if you had a good time. We are coming back next summer and fishing with this crew. I highly recommend these guys.

We sailed on the All In. Some of us were new to deep sea fishing. Was a great experience. Captain Chris and Travis really went out of their way to teach us and make it fun! In some ways the bait fishing was as much fun as the snapper fishing. Highly recommend.

Captain Tim and Matt were amazing! We had the best time. We took a four hour trip with our 4 kids (ages 9, 7, 5, and 3) and they were so great with all of them. Everyone caught plenty of fish and had a blast!

Pulled in fish until my arms and back were sore. Some big ones we had to release because they weren’t in season. Captain Josh did a great job making sure we had plenty of fishing opportunities and that we enjoyed ourselves. Clean boat with smooth Hatteras ride, nobody ever got seasick. Cool inside while moving to different locations. Really worked hard to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. We will return next year.

We reached out to Crystal Beach Charters on a whim and surprisingly they were able to offer us an amazing trip! We caught many fish and had a wonderful time! We will plan ahead next time and fish with Crystal Beach Charters every time!

Our trip was cancelled and moved around a couple times but we finally made it out, we did have fu. As a group but definitely didn’t get our meats worth, we had 3 people go without taking any fish home because they were nice and gave their sure to the other 3 so they could have a meal. Water was a little rough but I have been with water a lot tougher and caught more fish than we did in a shorter time span. I may be willing to give it another try but I was very disappointed this time after driving 5 hours and paying 1300 dollars and only catching 1 small grouper and 12 small Bee-liners/Mingos that are smaller than my hand.

This was one of my best fishing trips. I found The Double Down with capt Tim Baxter online because of the great reviews. The boat is a new 2018 that handled 6ft swells on our trip like a champ. There’s plenty of room for five people and storage space for coolers or anything that needs to be kept dry. Captain Tim was the best captain I’ve ever had the pleasure of fishing with. Tim was on time, knew where to fish and when, helped the deck hand when he wasn’t driving, assisted with any questions we had, was clear with his instructions, and very fluent in every task. All this equals to keeping you reeling in fish and getting more bang for your money! Dane Minnick, our deck hand was awesome. He’s actually the captain of another charter and was working with Capt Tim on our trip. So we had two captains keeping us busy reeling. Dane was easy to get along with, has a good sense of humor, very knowledgeable about fishing techniques, helped us with anything we had, and very fast with the fishing gear and tackle which kept our lines in the water making our fishing trip very efficient. Now to address the part everyone hates, the cost. In my opinion, you get what you pay for. I paid for experience, efficiency, knowledge, laughs, memories, a private trip(just my wife and I had the vessel to ourselves), fun, and most of all a better than average fishing trip. And that’s what I got. Not the normal party boat experience where a single person won’t keep their line tight and it tangles all 20 people on one side of the yacht. Though still fun and cheap, that’s not the way to catch 9 Mahi Mahis like we did on this trip with Tim and Dane. So in conclusion, if the price sways you away, just be sure to bring 5 people and split it. We will be back Tim! And Dane we will not forget you!

Capt. Tim with Capt. Andy working as the deck hand make up a great crew. The guys worked hard all day and put us on the fish. Even when the fishing slowed down they hustled to find the right spots and trolling in between when it made sense. The big catamaran is a stable beast that cuts thru rough water like it’s nothing, it drifts excellent and hustles between the spots and home so you can get more fishing in. I’m impressed with how clean and tidy the boat is kept. Excellent operation.The only complaint we had was that the lady that does the booking told us that we’d be responsible for our own food and drinks at 10pm the night before the trip.Pro Tip, how ever much cold water you think you need out there double it. With the big fish Capt. Tim puts you on you will be working hard to get them up and it’s hot out there. 10/10

This was the best fishing charter I’ve been on! The staff was friendly and accommodating to our three 5 year olds, we caught many fish and the boat was fantastic. It was very clean and roomy two of the three kids slept the first 3 hours!
