We went on Lucky Lina on 7/29/21. We had a really good time! This was our first time deep sea fishing. We left out right on time as scheduled. Captain Steve was very nice and polite he knew exactly what spots to go to so we could catch the most fish. Everything was so much fun from catching the bait to fishing for the big fish! Kevin the deckhand was awesome he explained everything exactly how we should do it and was constantly cutting up bait and making sure we had what we needed. He never stopped helping us, going back and fourth to all of us. He was making me exhausted just watching him how much he does for everyone! At the end he still didn’t stop he cleaned the boat really well then cut up our fish and bagged them. We lost count of how many fish we caught but if I had to guess from beginning to end it was around 60. My oldest daughter even caught a 7 Foot Shark that was so exciting for everyone to see. We caught lots of Red Snapper some had to be thrown back for being to small but it was ok because we had more than enough at the end of our trip. I hate to read all the bad reviews Captain Steve got because we had such a great time with not one complaint. For anyone who goes on the Lucky Lina make sure you tip Kevin well because he is definitely worth it! Thank you again Captain Steve and Kevin.

REVIEW OF LUCKY LINA 04/8/21I was so excited to go on a fishing trip with my family, and it was my boyfriends first time fishing on the ocean. My boyfriend, father, and brother all caught fish, however this trip was nothing like expected, and was also not what we paid for. Now, before I get into anything, I will say that the deck hand was very polite and on top of setting everything up.It was overcast, and the waves were very choppy. Not only that, but by the time we got out to fishing, it was raining hard with lighting not far off.We were to go out and fish for Mahi, and instead were bottom fishing. My mother and I spent a good majority of our trip laying down on the worn out bench seats, both extremely sick (I have never gotten sick on an ocean fishing trip before) due to the rough waves in combination with the engine exhaust. Not only that, but the deck hand also continuously smoked cigarettes, which did not help with the fumes. When it started to rain, water entered into the cabin, dropping along my forehead and all over outlets in the cabin. And another thing.... the bathroom had no running water. In his response to our review on fishing booker, the captain stated that there was running water on the deck that was to be brought into the bathroom, however this was not conveyed to us or even the deck hand for that matter. He also blamed us for breaking the bathroom door latch, which was actually a cheap latch that was rusted beyond belief when we got there. As the waves were enough to knock me completely off my feet, one abrupt swing of the door broke the latch. When we reached shore, after asking the captain to take us back, the captain could not get out of the boat fast enough. He was extremely disrespectful, however after reading his one star reviews, I was not surprised.Moral of the story, take your money elsewhere. And as Im sure this will recieve a wonderful response from the captain himself, I implore any potential patrons to read the one star reviews and simply observe the Captains attitude towards unhappy customers. You can find a more professional captain and better experience elsewhere.

We had a good time because hey, its fishing. We didnt catch much, which seems to be a frequent occurrence on the Lucky Lina based on pictures and other people weve spoken with. The captain got stuck in traffic so we left late, but he still charged us for the time. We paid for them to buy bait from the bait boat, but then after several hours of our bait getting ripped off by trigger, the captain yelled at us for having the wrong bait(that he and his mate bought with our money). We came in with a sad showing of fish on a six hour trip(really 5 1/2 after the Capt.s delay), and they tried to make excuses for all the other boats at the docks that had loads of snapper and grouper. Spend the extra $15-$25 an hour to get a better boat/crew, itll be worth it. The Lucky Lina is not so lucky.
