I cant speak highly enough of this shop. They do good work quickly at a reasonable price. Theyve never tried to upsell me on work that isnt needed, and they are very honest about what does need to be done.I started using them when I lived in Decatur, and still make the drive over to them whenever I need something because its hard to find good honest mechanics like this. They were all good great customer service very polite and in my repairs found that was initially going to be radiator Now here radiator but heater hose to a Pontiac Firebird formula V8 with stick shift and area was very confined ended up finding other problems which couldnt be helped They ended up giving me a trial position sensor free in the repairs and also those a battery post problem upon pickup which they repaired it no extra charge so thats as far as Im concerned thats great customer service Took a little bit longer than expected but based on parts availability was the factor holding us back from put your service

From the very first time I went to Decatur Auto Pro I knew I would not be disappointed. Mr. Yuen patiently listened what I was trying to describe and he gave me a few “could be” scenarios. Bringing my car in for the diagnosis and repairs Indeed showed his expert knowledge. I only wished I had taken my car here many, many years ago. All of the mechanics are of the highest quality. Im not one to write reviews for the most part; however, I am making an exception in this case because not only did my car get repaired, but the customer service I received in the process is, in my opinion, worth almost as much as the actual repair.I took my vehicle to Decatur Pro Auto Repair because the reviews I read regarding the business were for the most part extremely favorable. I have been having issues with my car for longer than I care to admit--having taken it to various shops and dealerships for servicing and repair only to have the problem(s) resurface after a very short time. I found myself caught between a rock and a hard place; I was trying to prevent having a car note so I reasoned that investing money in repairs instead of buying a vehicle would be the better strategy. The reality turned out to be the following: I placed myself in a position wherein I had invested too many dollars (thousands) in unsuccessful repair attempts whereas if I had taken that amount and invested it in a new car, my monthly payments would have been lower than low. Well, I reasoned that I would give the repair option one last ditch effort. Dealerships were definately a no-no. HATE THEM! They are experts at separating you from your money.To make a long story short, I took my vehicle to Decatur Pro Auto Repair and I found that my car was troubled by both Powertrain and TCM codes. Decatur Pro fixed all of my issues related to the ECU/PCM OBD2 Codes, but they dont, unfortunately, work on transmissions. But to the extent, that I asked them to help me determine something regarding the transmission (it was basic, but it required some time) and I could tell that it was going against their business model because he really didnt want to do it (I dont blame him), however, Steve bit the bullet and helped me out and HE DIDNT CHARGE ME FOR IT (thank you Steve). THAT is what I call good customer service. It turned out to be a significant favor because it allowed me enough information to research what was required in my transmission repair. I subsequently took my car to a Transmission Repair Shop pretty much knowing what was wrong with my vehicle and the Shop fixed my issue and I have been driving without issue so far. I am hoping to get at least another year and a half to two years out of this vehicle. Thank you Steve/Decatur Pro Auto Repair for doing a wonderful job on my engine and demonstrating that Customer Service is not dead and a thing of the past. I highly recommend that anyone needing their car engine to be serviced give your shop a go. I am very well pleased.

Before going to the shop, we went to AutoZone to figure out the problem. The indicator at AutoZone stated what we thought it was, the thermostat was out. We let Decatur Pro Auto know this when booking an appointment and they gave us a set price. After dropping off our car, they called us letting us know they thought it could be something else (possibly the fan). Obviously, we are not mechanics so we said to let us know. It wasnt until we called, 40 minutes before the shop closed, that we received an answer (when they originally said it would be a 2-hour job). Regardless, we were upset that we were charged $60 extra dollars because they had to check the fan and the response was well, I have you some coolant. Hey, thanks for the $0.32. That was not the agreed upon price and it wasnt until we called to see if our car was ready that we received an update... and it the thermostat!

Steve and Alex were so amazing! We are in Atlanta from out of town and our van stopped working...it needed two new parts. They got them in and our van was fixed within a couple of hours. They even came and picked us up! We highly recommend them to you. The person who came to help us when our van wasnt working even recommended them to us when we found them on google...as he had been there before! Sounds like a good reputation to me!

This place is awesome. We went everywhere trying to get a cylinder misfire code cleared after changing the spark plugs on our own and this is the only place that would clear the code. We will definitely be coming back for any future service!

I had a headlight out, and brought in my car to be looked at without an appointment. I was helped quickly, and courteously and they found the issue without having to replace any wiring. I felt as if I was extended a lot of kindness in the process, and would highly recommend this mechanic to all.

Workers were great, outstanding service, manager on duty made me uncomfortable and I will not be supporting this establishment again. First time oil change in Georgia, moved from Chicago recently and I’m used to talking to the workers, after all of the work was done, management came outside and told me I was not welcome in there work area in a rude way and suggested that I find a new place to get an oil change because they don’t allow that. The workers didn’t complain once. Could’ve been a regular customer but I refuse to be treated like that. Understand if you plan to go there you will have to potentially deal with idiotic management but you will also experience brilliant, talented and patient workers. Competent and inexpensiveTheir overall 4-star rating in the reviews is not a fair or accurate assessment of what they give you. Ive had only great experiences with them, and on background, I used to work in the automotive industry, and I also lived in Germany, where car owners have to learn a lot about cars to get a license. So, mechanics and the workings of cars are no mystery to me. Well, after seeing the four stars and some of the nagging in the bad reviews, I figured Id stick my nose into the shop and get an estimate on body damage on my fiancees daughters car. It was the best, most realistic estimate for her older car. They did fantastic work and stayed on budget. After that, I gave them a crack at maintenance on my car because I felt my former mechanic (with raving 5-star ratings, a pleasant waiting room and good telephone manners) was overcharging me. Then the former shop usually also sent an email squeezing me for a rave review. Decatur Pro Auto Repair did a thorough maintenance and inspection. I could tell this by looking the car over myself when they were done and by the way they knew my car in our conversation afterward. They did the work for a good price -- exactly the one they quoted me over the phone. Now, their customer interfacing is not as slick as elsewhere, but when you get beyond the superficial first encounters, you find straight-up folks. So, the choice may be to go to a place that manages you as a customer brilliantly and charges you more, maybe does some unnecessary work, or a place with regular people, a darker, more functional waiting room, but who do great work at a great price. The latter appears to be this place. You also wont be pressured into giving them five stars online, which may be a bit unfortunate for them.

After such a bad experience with another mechanic it was very refreshing to have them properly fix the issue and thoroughly explain their work. I would definitely recommend using them!

So, the first time I went there. They consulted on the body repair, and said theyd call me back with a quote when they located a part for me. I never received a call, and their voicemail was full. This was over the holidays. When I tried to call other local shops, some didnt answer their phones at all. I went back to here, since it was so close. This time, I received my quote, and they ordered the part then and there.I had cosmetic work on the car done by Marcus. He was so courteous and nice. The result of their work looks terrific. They were fast, conscientious, and he clearly cared about me being out of a car, the expediency of the work, and the quality of the work. They are not fancy in terms of customer service, but they had decent follow-up, were very considerate, and my car looks 100% better because of him.

I regularly take both of my vehicles to Decatur Pro Auto Repair, and am always satisfied with the quality of the work, the pricing, and the way Im treated. Steve is always up front with pricing, and Ive never had sticker shock. If anything, sometimes the actual pricing comes back lower than the quote. And, the quality of the work is always great.

I dropped my car off for a very complicated issue. And they were honest about the time line of when it would be repaired. It was ready the next day before close of business. I love the professionalism. And overall knowledge of everything and how they explain it to you. I would not hesitate to take make car here again.

When we moved here 2 years ago from Indiana, we gave this place a try when we needed some tune up and brake work done. They are very informative of what is going on with our cars and are very fair on the pricing. Weve came back here at least 8-9 times and they always do a very good job and provide good quality service. They are willing to go above and beyond to take care of us, including doing walk in oil changes and have even stayed an hour past closing time to replace my brakes and water pump before I went out of town. We are always greeted with a smile and a good attitude. I will continue to bring our cars back to Decatur Pro when we need work done on our vehicles.

The overall service here is good. A lot of committed dates along the 5 month stretch for an antique restoration; the 5+ month duration is expected, so no false commitment dates were needed. The desk clerk literally has no customer service skills. She was overheard having unfriendly customer conversations on my multiple visits, so my interactions with her were very limited in words with a dash of her I dont like customers demeanor. The owner is more business minded.

I came in because of a burning smell coming from my car. After telling the office about it, Steve came and checked the vehicle. He told me he would have to heat the engine up and run a check on it. I was overall pleased with the quickness and customer service, but I was still charged $45 for their work- just for them to tell me a large plastic bag was caught underneath my car and had melted there. Im disappointed about the charge, but overall relieved nothing worse happened.

They are by far one of the best auto repair shops on this side of town. The guys take extra time in explaining all the options and allowing you to be comfortable with the one that makes the most sense. Amazing experience. The brakes on my SUV were completely shot, and Decatur Pro was able to replace the pads, brake rotors, change the oil, and rotate and balance the tires for $392! Excellent work and very honest people.

I was lied to about the repairs needed. After diagnosis, was told I would absolutely need $1000 in repairs, went somewhere else to find out the necessary repair was actually only $70. Completely felt taken advantage of. Will definitely not be returning, and strongly encourage you to stay away from this place. Theyre the epitome of a shady mechanic, Im very disappointed.

I do not know where to begin. I drove my car over there to fix my car window. They said that we first need to diagnose the problem. After I got back the home, they called me back and said your car is ready. It took only one hour to repair my windown regulator. I went back there, and they charged me 270 dollars! It was saying 160 dollars for labor on the receipt for an hour of work. Also, they did not notify me that it would cost that much. Otherwise, I would not consent it.

I have a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 that had brakes squealing. I was told over the phone by Steve if the rotors could be turned it would be $178 and if they needed to be replaced it would be $347. When I showed up they realized that due to the 3/4 ton trucks large rotors it would not fit the lathe to turn, so I opted to replace the 2 rotors, 2 pads, and have a synthetic oil change. The brake service was $347 and the oil change was $64 just as they had quoted over the phone, which I thought was a fair price. I had the impression that Steve and the mechanics where honest. It would have been 5 stars if they had owned a lathe to turn the large rotors.

Came here to get a quote for my car and some body work to be done. I compared to other body shops around town and this place was the cheapest, by far! Youre not paying for the flat screen tvs and fancy waiting area. This is the place you bring your car and feel comfortable they wont rip you off. I was very pleased with the work they did on my 2016 legacy with the pearl white paint. There was a small blemish with the paint, but Marcus took it back in and fixed it up for me and didnt even charge me for it. The staff is very helpful. Definitely save yourself some time and just go here. They were half the price of the actual dealership.

Incredible experience on first time visit to Decatur Pro Auto Repair. My own offices are located nearby. Regularly drive past this mid-size family-owned business near downtown Decatur. Decatur Pro always seems busy, and does a significant amount of automotive fleet work. Needed repairs to an older Jeep Liberty, our back-up family car, which had worn out its original AC compressor. Summer in Atlanta without AC in a car is a memorable experience.As the car is nearing 14 years old, we now weigh the costs benefits of major repairs, versus the purchase of another late model car. I was getting much higher quotes on the repair than I was willing to pay, so sale of this vehicle, much beloved by our youngest child, was coming in to view. I Googled Jeep auto repair in Decatur. Our Jeep dealership on Church Street closed several years ago.The owner was tied up working on a car when I called, but called me back within a few hours and gave me a labor quote, as I had already directly purchased the new and required HVAC compressor and clutch assembly online. The labor quote was reasonable, and I also inquired about the costs of refrigerant refill.Dropped the Jeep the middle of the next day. The car was ready the following morning. The A/C is working as if brand new. The car cools faster, even after hours in the sun, than my 2018 Kia Sportage. We are VERY pleased and will be back. Our Jeep now has a new repair home.

Great place. Had a blown Nissan Murano motor and they did a full transplant. They had it a little over time due to the work needed so they re-painted the bumper to be nice. It was damaged before it went in. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing auto work/maintenance.

I get my diesel trucks repaired here. They are fast at fixing the problem. They communicate the problem to you in an easy to understand way and the price per hour is awesome for the quality mechanical work.

Great place! I came to get my check engine light checked out, and they looked at it for free. Nothing really was wrong; I just didnt have my gas cap on all the way. While I was there, I asked about another problem my car was having, and it turns out that I just needed some fluid topped off. Another car place told me that Id need a really expensive repair (over $1,000.00) to fix the same problem. I was pleased with their honesty and lack of greed. Im coming back!

Took my car here after reading reviews. I was told by Steven or Steve that they would look over my car and give me a call. Over a week later, no calls. I decided to make a trip back up there I noticed my car in the same parking position. He really did not want to look at me when I ask if he had looked over the vehicle. He’s said that the car has many problems.No way this could be true when the battery was dead and the car just needs a starter. Finally he admitted that he didn’t have time to examine my car.Do not trust this shop. I feel lied to , and I wasted a week of my time .

I didnt actually have my car fixed here because the mechanic DIDNT want me to waste my money on a garbage car! He was honest and told me it wasnt worth it to fix it. He checked out my car, topped off the fluids for free, and told me if I was his daughter her wouldnt let me drive the car.

Above and beyond! Will definitely go back in the future. I was in a time crunch and dropped by in the morning on the way to work for a follow-up on some car repairs Id had done the day previous. Unfortunately for me, theyve changed their hours to opening at 8:30, and Id gotten there at 7:30. Crap.Luckily, the owner Steve was there an hour early before everybody else and saw me sitting outside in my car debating my next plan of action. He opened up shop specifically for me, and he washed and detailed my car himself.

After reading the reviews I decided to take my car into Decatur Pro but the work done was poor. I got a price of $200 to get the buffing and scratch removal done on my car. I took the car in on Tuesday and was promised to have the car back by Wednesday at 5pm, but it wasnt completed then. I stated that it was ok to keep the car another day as I did not want the process to be rushed and compromise quality. During the time my car was in the shop, a price difference was never communicated to me prior to the service or during the service.Thursday arrived and the service was still not completed, I again, stated it was ok to take until Friday to complete the buffing and scratch removal. I came in on Friday to pick up my car and was charged a different price. I had to argue to have it at $220 as they wanted to charge me $287. That was a terrible thing to do as the price promised was $200. And if the shop decided to change the price or increase it, they need to tell the customers ahead of time as I wouldnt have taken my car there. Finally, the scratch removal was done poorly, there are still scratches on the panels that were supposed to be removed. And it took them four days, just to do buffing and scratch removal and it was not done well at all. I agreed to have the car in the shop for an additional two days, as I did not want to rush and have the quality compromised and the work was still poor.I also noticed a dent on my trunk that wasnt there prior to taking in the car. Note to others: remember to take pictures of your car prior to bringing it in for any work done. I am unsatisfied with the buffing and scratch removal job, given that I allowed my car to be in the shop an additional two days. Also if a shop wants to charge a certain price, they need to let the customers know ahead of time or prior to service. They cannot quote a price and change it up after service is completed as that is unprofessional. Finally, the buffing and scratch removal job was poorly done. There are still scratches on the panels that were supposed to be buffed out and the polish/ finish was not good at all.

I came in for a break job and they charged me but failed to replace anything. The second mechanic advised me to sue and I am. Good luck with this place, they not only charged me for nothing but refused to repair their faulty work.

At first I got there it seems like that knew and took care of the problem. Called two days later because the car was doing the exact samething and I am a lady so I dint know much about cars she told me I would have to pay again when I just got it did from this shop I am very displeased cause I keep buying fluid and I paid 300+ to get it fixed

I would not recommend this place if it was the last place in our solar system. Been here a few times, but this will be my last time patronizing them. Place has become very unprofessional with a Capital U and has a very dark feel to it. If Satan owned a mechanic shop this would be it. Firstly, the front desk clerk is not very friendly and arrogant. Only greets certain customers, but not others. Snatches items out of customers hands. Acts like your bothering her when you have a question. There used to be another guy at the front desk clerk who was very courteous. They need to bring him back. The price gouging is unbelivable. I needed my 02 Sensor replaced and these guys were trying to charge me $800. I thought, Oh Hell no! Bought the 02 Sensor myself for $100. Went to another place and they put it on for $20. Brought my car in for another issue, I shouldve learned from my previous experience, and the mechanic, this gray haired older guy, who looks like he doesnt give 2 craps about anything, who also probably should have retired along time ago, was indirectly making fun of my issue like, hes trying to be a professional comedian or something. Heres a tip, stick to fixing or not fixing cars. He is also unfriendly, no greetings or none of that. Just dump your car, after doing what ever it is they do or dont do, without even telling you its out front like they have better things to do. All they care about is money which they should use to fix that raggedy place up. Well frankly, I could careless what they do because I wont be going back again anyway.
